We toured a waterfront home in Lake County and decided we HAD to have it. The price was right, the location was perfect and it was the exact kind of project we needed. My husband and I recently bought a home in Lakeport CA. We used Konacti Realty because that is who came to show us the house the first time and we didn't have a realtor. Rick White was the realtor who represented us, I use that term loosely. Stacey, also from Konacti Realty represented the sellers. We did our own negotiations as far as telling our realtor what we wanted and we got a great price on the house. We paid cash so it should have been an easy transaction. The second time we came to see the house the power was off. We asked our realtor to have it turned back on because we were paying for an inspection and they needed power. He told us he was unable to. The main excuse we got for everything is the sellers didn't speak English and they had trouble communicating. If you are doing business with someone who doesn't speak English get a translator it's VERY EASY these days. Our inspector did what he could without power. Then a few days later we received a call from Rick stating that the power wasn't actually shut off it just wasn't working. We SIGNED A CONTRACT for a LICENSED ELECTRICIAN to come evaluate. The day the electrician was to come we got a video from the realtor showing power on. We asked what had been the problem. He didn't know. Then we get a call that instead of a licensed electrician the sellers had sent a handyman. Guess their English wasn't so bad after all. They knew a handyman was cheaper than an electrician. We had the electrician go back and check the work he seemed to think it was ok so we let that pass. We were able to close about a week before expected. The day after closing I called my insurance company to get a quote only to be told they wouldn't give a quote because we had "a lapse in coverage!" I said we closed yesterday!!... how would we buy insurance before we owned the home? She said generally you get a quote with an estimated close date and if you close sooner or later they adjust it! Our realtor knew we were first time buyers and we didn't know. My husband went to the county to get a copy of our deed.. he was told "oh we told Rick to make sure you had insurance before closing because you are paying cash so without a loan it isn't something we worry about." RICK NEVER RELAYED THIS INFORMATION TK US AND AGAIN WE WERE IN NO HURRY TO CLOSE!! We could have waited a day or two until the insurance was in place. We did get a policy through AAA the next day and paid for the year but because we couldn't get several quotes k don't know if we got a decent deal or way overpaid ($3900 for the year on a $440k house) .. After the insurance debacle I wrote to Stacey who represented the sellers, I believe she owns Konacti Realty. SHENEVER BOTHERED TO ANSWER ME!!! The. The first time we did laundry I thought it was strange all the water to the washer was shut off. I turned it on and did a load. We'll soon I learned why it was off... our entire downstairs storage area was soon flooded with approximately 3 inches of water!! Makes me wonder if Stacey knew why her clients had turned the water off. LASTLY... and this is a doozy!!... our home has 3 different doors all with electronic locks. We received the code for the front door.. none of the others. I did figure out how to set them (after being locked out because they lock automatically). But WE WERE NEVER GIVEN KEYS TO OUR HOME!!!... I emailed Stacey "k didn't receive keys to my house yet" was the subject of my email. I thought she would open and answer that! I was wrong. If the batteries die in the locks we NEED KEYS!!! We paid almost a half million dollars for a home and DON'T HAVE KEYS!! I said if you can't get keys from the seller we need a locksmith. NO RESPONSE! In the same email I also let her know the house doesn't have any SMOKE DETECTORS OR CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS!!! In Lake county and Sonoma county we NEED SMOKE DETECTORS!! We have all witnessed too many fires already! We want to be prepared! Will our insurance cover a fire if we don't have detectors?? I looked it up and it is law that they are installed in a home. We don't feel we should pay for this!!! Konacti Realty OWES ME KEYS OR A TRIP FROM A LOCKSMITH AND SMOKE/CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS! This home is approximately 3600 square feet so we NEED several detectors installed to be safe! What I learned as a first time home buyer is the sellers pay the realtor fees so the sellers are well taken care of but the buyers NOT SO MUCH!!! Oh we also never got a remote for the garage door either!! THE FACT THAT I HAVE WRITTEN TWICE TO STACEY AND NEVER HAD A RESPONSE IS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME!! THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, LAZY AND RUDE!!! We plan on buying other properties in Lakeport because it's a beautiful town and we love it BUT I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS REAL ESTATE COMPANY AGAIN!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU EXPECT A SET OF KEYS TO YOUR PROPERTY OR SMOKE/CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS! read more

I emailed Stacey, the listing agent on a property I asked to look at. I informed her that I had a loan officer and I was good to go as far as qualifying. She told me the property I was interested in probably would not qualify for a loan. I then asked her what were the major issues with the property that made it unable to get a loan. She told me it had old peeling paint, possible electrical problems and possible sewer problems. I told her I would still like to take a look as my husband is a contractor and didn't feel these issues were valid in not being a loanable property. She never emailed me back. I feel this was unfair and unethical treatment and I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your real estate needs. If I could not give any stars I would. read more

Then after a while, we called to check again...she said the post has expired and asked us to re-sign the permission doc. to post...we signed long back...we recently found out she never posted out listing...so we called again.....now she does not even pick up the phone or reply to our messages. read more
