The advice in the kitchen area made it a much more useful work space than the original. The advice in the bath added room for a more spacious tub and modern toilet. All issues that arose were dealt with promptly and to the satisfaction of all. The property they renovated was 50 years old, yet they were able to meld old with new and preemptively replace infrastructure that was overdue for failure along the way at a lower cost. They have stood behind their work, even helping us to identify a problem that was unrelated to anything they did at no charge at a later time. We highly recommend!

I came here for a small project with plans to purchase at least six slabs of quartzite over the next few months, plus several larger projects down the line. Albert assured me he'd send a photo and have my small piece cut the next day. Since then, I've called every day. On the second day, he didn't remember me. On the third, he didn't know what I needed, asked me to come back, and promised to call or text within 30 minutes -- but never did. I'm a loyal customer who likes to start small before committing to big projects. If a business treats the "small" jobs with respect, they earn the large ones. Unfortunately, this experience showed me the opposite. I won't be recommending this place, and I'll gladly wait to work with a company that values all customers, no matter the size of the project.

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with SJ Imports, in Woodstock Georgia. During a kitchen…read moreremodel, I paid a deposit (as requested) the last week of February 2023. A week later, (03/01/2023) the owner Jeff calls and "stated he needed the balance paid in FULL "so he could get the cabinets ordered and put into production." At this point, I had known Jeff for 5+ years and considered him a friend. So, I didn't question it. I simply met with him and paid him in FULL. Believing our new cabinets had already been ordered, we added some additional trim, and a Farm Sink which were also paid for in FULL. The demolition for our remodel began on April 11th, 2023. So, By mid-April, our renovation is in full swing, demolition is done, and the interior contractor (referred by Jeff) starts asking about the cabinets. The contractor lays out the design using the schematic that had been provided by Jeff @ SJ Imports. Only to realize Jeff had provided the wrong layout. Jeff came out to the job site 5 X's to take measurements and still got it wrong. We call Jeff for a in person meeting on the job site. Remember, this is Mid-April approximately 6 weeks after Jeff said he was ordering the cabinets. Jeff again lied and indicated "the cabinets would be in any day, and that we would need to find a place to off load them & store them until the install date." Jeff led us to believe he was willing to store them in the basement of his own personal basement if need be." During the last two weeks of April and into the first week of May 2023, still no cabinets, and 101 excuses from Jeff As to why the cabinets were not there. Well that is about the time Jeff stopped taking my calls, and changed the voice mail on his phone to "call the office" message. Yet, half the time I called the office, I got no answer. So, I started texting Jeff, and calling him out on his lies. I started asking Jeff direct questions about what he had done with my money? On Tuesday, May 9th, I called the office and finally got Jeff's secretary Tami to admit the cabinets did not get ordered until Friday, May, 5th, 2023. When she miraculously "got the order pushed through!". From that point, it was another two to three weeks of trying to track a shipment. Complete and total incompetence and even more lies! When the cabinets finally come in; three are damaged and had to be reordered. So, here we go again for another two to three weeks tracking the order. That is two months after I had paid him in FULL for my cabinet order. So, my question is what did Jeff actually do with my money? Did he use it for his personal expenses? Did he usage it to pay for another job? He never would answer that question when asked. Finally, the replacement show up. The interior contractor begins installing them (Not SJ Imports). It is at this point, it is determined that Jeff had not ordered the right trim. Checking our receipts, Jeff billed us and we paid for 6" Riser material (to go from the top of the cabinets to the ceiling), as well as, 3" Crown Molding. But, Jeff ordered 3" Riser Material. Basically half the height we had paid for. So, this caused a disparity in the trim pieces which brought the install to a grinding halt. Remember, Jeff came out 5X's to take measurements On this job. He invoiced & we paid for the correct materials. But, yet Jeff managed to still order the wrong material. When I called Jeff out on his mistake, not only did Jeff not offer me a refund, but Jeff wanted to charge me another $483.00 to order replacement materials to fix his mistake. HIs flip it response was "we all make mistakes." At this point, I am short on options, I told Jeff I would pay him once I received the replacement trim. He stated he couldn't order the trim until I paid him in FULL. I decided I was not going to fall for that trick again. After all, Jeff had already proven to me he could not be trusted. So, I had to research, find, & hire another cabinet company to come in behind SJ Imports to finish the job. Long Story Short, I wouldn't recommend SJ Imports to build a dog house let alone recommend them to anyone who was looking build or remodel a home. Admittedly, I never thought to check reviews or references on Jeff or SJ Imports. Like I previously stated, I considered Jeff a friend and had known him 5+ years. But now that I have done some research, it is easy to understand why SJ Imports has the poor 2 out of 5 rating it has. Many of the reviews I have read, echo the same complaints. They amount to unethical business practices & incompetence at best. Unfortunately, I like so many others found out the hard way. When a business only has two 5 Star reviews (online) and one of them was posted by the owner's son, it says a lot about what consumers think about your business, and might have a lot to do with why the owner has already had to change the business name, and endured other legal challenges.
