We were new clients when I booked our three dogs for a 4-night stay. I had surgery in Boston, and my husband was staying in a hotel to avoid driving back and forth. The day I was supposed to be released, I was very ill. We emailed Petworks to ask if the dogs could stay a little longer; they could. That happened again, and again. Every time, Steve and Cheryl told us to focus on my healing and not worry about the dogs. It was a month before I was out of danger and well enough for my husband to not be with me 24/7. That entire month, Cheryl and Steve and their team took care of our dogs (10, 13, and 14 years) who'd never been boarded and must have been confused. I'm kind of sort of heartbroken that I've moved away from the area and I can no longer bring my dog here. We used to bring him to a wonderful daycare in Mansfield. However, when my husband and I changed jobs, we need a place with longer hours to accommodate our commute. We brought him to Petworks and it's the greatest. You can tell that everyone here is incredibly passionate about the animals who come here. The owner, Stephen, is an amazing guy. Actually everyone there is pretty amazing. We were "those customers"--our dog as our little fur baby, so we're needy and worrisome and the type of customer most would rolls their eyes at. We never felt as though they were burdened. Quite the opposite, they cared for my dog the way I personally would, and for that I owe them the world. It's great to have that peace of mind. Additionally, my dog is an Australian Shepherd, so he's incredibly energetic and quite difficult to tire out. Every day he'd come home happily pooped, and every morning he'd pull his way in to see all of his daycare friends. Our dog was also groomed here on several occasions, and he's challenging to wash and cut (he isn't a fan of baths and he is a giant fluff ball with a lot of fur), and they did an amazing job. Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough, and for me that's rare. There is 1 review on here from years ago claiming her dog caught kennel cough, but Petworks requires you have your dog immunized for kennel cough, so I would take that with a grain of salt. To everyone at Petworks, thank you for the 200+ times you took care of my Yawkey (yes, I sat down and actually did the math). Psycho with Scissors Lowe's must've had a sale on weedwackers because my long hair dachshund came out looking like his own mother wouldn't even love him. It looked like Edward Scissorhands went to work on him... but not the good part of the movie where he does a good job, the part where he goes psycho and destroys his work. My daschaund spent 8 hours locked up inside of a cage and then the lady had the audacity to berate me and tell me what a terrible dog I had. This was my poor puppies first time being groomed and she treated him nothing more than a piece of meat. Now let's go to the part where she cut my dog, this woman literally cut my dog and it got infected to the point I had to take him to the vet. I hope this company goes out of business I believe it would be in all our animals best interests if this place went belly up. I still can't believe a full grown woman couldn't handle my 12 pound daschaund, I think she should quit and start giving haircuts to people for their closed caskets, that way Noone can see this hack job whack job read more

I travel to North Attleboro often to visit family, and Petworks is very convenient to where I stay. The staff is very friendly, and Lucy always seems to enjoy her visits. If I'm staying a few days, I'll often come by and take her out for a run, and they are very accommodating. So glad I found them! read more

Business hours, need for reservations, and being fully booked make things difficult for anyone with an inconsistent work schedule (needing to find accommodations a couple days in advance, or start traveling to clients by 6am/get home past 7pm occasionally.) During summer and school vacations, they are usually fully booked far in advance, which seems to be typical of all dog daycares nearby. Not to mention needing to find a dog sitter or fiend to drop off the dog between 7 and 9am ONLY makes things more difficult, even if I can rush home from Boston by closing time. I didn't see these issues at dog daycares anywhere else I lived, and both daycares nearby are hard to get into. The staff has always been friendly, plus they treat my dog well, but it's hard to send her when my schedule is busy and I can't work with the hours or even get a reservation when needed. The only other complaint I have is my pup comes back smelling strongly of chemicals after staying there, which concerns me when it comes to her health. She loves going, but it's never been a daily option as I had hoped when we moved nearby. read more

I was on the fence about whether to keep going to Petworks for my 45 lb. black lab/Australian shepherd's grooming needs, and after my last visit, I've decided to look elsewhere. After deciding I was tired of paying $60 (not including tip) at Petco for inconsistent results, I decided to give Petworks a shot. At $40, the price seemed right, at least. I have now brought my pup there 4 or 5 times, and I'm still not thrilled with the results. The first few times, the gentleman who worked the front desk was always cheerful and helpful. He would always ask me what I was looking for and then he would relay the information to the groomer. I wasn't crazy about not being able to talk to the groomer face-to-face, especially after my dog didn't come out quite how I wanted the first time. Another down side to this place is they don't do teeth cleaning. I kept going back for convenience and cost reasons, since my dog still came out looking decent enough and I wasn't concerned enough to change groomers again. The last time I visited, there was a woman behind the desk who seemed like she was possibly new because she didn't seem to know quite what she was doing yet. She was pleasant and cheerful, though! The groomer was also behind the desk with her, and so I was pleased that I would be able to tell her what I wanted directly so that nothing would be lost in translation. I told her "I'd really like to get his legs, feet, stomach, tail, and ears trimmed shorter than usual for the spring/summer," and she responded somewhat sharply with "Well, I don't know how short we usually cut it because our system crashed and I don't have any of his history on file." Um... okay.... how about you just ask me for more detail on how short I want it? I kind of shrugged it off and just said "Okay, that's fine, just cut him short in those places." She took him from me, brought him in the back (which always breaks my heart because he hates being groomed so much), and told me to come back in 5 hours, which was a lot longer than the previous time. I returned that afternoon to pick him up, and wasn't pleased at all with the results. Only his feet and tail had been trimmed and she had left everything else long. He barely looked any different than when I brought him in! I didn't say anything because after leaving him there for 5 hours, he was stressed out enough, and I really didn't want to leave him there any longer to have them fix it. On top of not getting the results I was looking for yet again, I've also decided that I wasn't crazy about the attitude of the groomer, and so I find myself in the market for a new dog groomer yet again. I had my mini schnauzer groomed/cut there this week and they did a fantastic job! I'm very picky and particular about his haircuts and after a consultation I left feeling very optimistic and I was more than satisfied upon picking dog up 4 hours later. The attention to detail and blending was excellent and I look forward to bringing my pup back in 5-6 weeks! They also have Monday appointments available which is hard to come by in the grooming field. read more

The last two times i have had my dog boarded there it did not go well. When I had my dog stay there, I had him bathed for his return home. They told me he was ready to be picked up, and when I got there he came out soaking wet, and they told me he just tipped his water bowl over! On my most recent experience, I again requested that he be bathed, and when they told me he could be picked up, i went in and sure enough.......he just tipped his bowl over again!!! They put his collar on a different dog that had already left, so I had to go back a second time to get his collar back. When I picked him up he started coughing and gaging continously and throwing up a white foam. When I took him to the vet, he was diagnosed with Kennel Cough! The vet bill was $125. I spent $256 on his kennel stay, $125 on a vet bill, Three days cleaning up vomit a second trip to pick up his collar that was put on a different dog, and when I called The manager, he told me all he can do is give me a discount on his next stay!!!!! Dog #1 came out with a bath and an okay haircut (I could have done the same quality job, but we're looking for convenience at a fair price), so we took dog #2 to get her claws clipped. She has nervous poops and we made sure to let them know this might happen. Somehow the poop got all over her backside and they didn't clean it up. We didn't notice at first. She got in the car and got it all over the seats and Dog #1. Working with animals is dirty work. If you can't do it properly, don't do it. read more

I brought my 10lb short-haired cat here for just a simple bath--no ear cleaining, nails, etc. About 10 months prior, they charged $35 for this service. This time around, they charged $45!! To me, this price is pretty high for this service. I know people who pay this for a full service dog grooming. They had it in their system that they charged me $35 the last time I was there, but never notified me prior to the bath of the ridiculous $10 increase. I told the woman at the front desk that this seemed high and she said she would bring it up to the owner that day and would call me. Two weeks later, still no phone call. High rates, poor business practices, and mediocre grooming. read more

I have boarded my big goldendoodle in Mansfield where I live, and will take Petworks over them hands down. She comes home relaxed, which I attribute to the attention she gets there, and smelling sweet, which I attribute to the clean atmosphere. Dogs of her breed are very social, and do not take well to isolation. I am so happy to have PetWorks near me, but I would go a long way to find them if they weren't. My dog has lymphoma in remission, but they are happy to board her, and I am happy to pick her up. Also, her grooming there is $30 less than her usual venue. read more
