When I'm due for service or something needs a fix, I'm able to make an appointment very quickly by phone or by internet. Before any work begins, the owner calls and goes over areas that need attention immediately or close to. We already have an idea of what is going to be done most likely. I usually take care of up to 4,5 sometimes even more services in one appointment. I swore I needed belts, this and that serviced but I didn't. Instead of just doing it because I said I wanted a belt replaced, I was told facts about the life and wear of parts. They were honest (imagine that) about it instead of adding another parts and labor amount. It's not a struggle being a customer of Petty. I drop off at 8:30 AM and pick up after I am done work. Ok so Petty isn't the cheapest automotive shop you will come across, but it also isn't outrageous. You pay for thorough, great service. If I think I saved $50to $200 because I went to a quick, vague, personality-less franchise shop, those cut corners and speedy repairs are going to end up costing up to a Grand or more later. I've been paying attention my whole life on how mechanics talk and if their walk backs it up. I've come across plenty of double standards, been misinformed, and then a change of tune occurred once hours have been put into my car when I'm just trying to sort out details. We have all our work done on every car we have owned and currently own. Currently Tommy is working on putting my 2000 Camaro back to original shape. I purchased my car brand new and it has sat for the last couple of years but its time to bring it back to life. I have 100% faith in Petty Motorworks because they are only the second mechanic who has ever worked on this car. I have always found them easy to work with and they never try and rip you off. Trust is a big thing for me and when I leave any of our vehicles with them I do not have to worry that they will make up things that are not wrong with the car. Petty Motorworks is always thorough and efficient when performing requested services. While they do a full inspection, looking for recommended services from the manufacturer's guide, they don't follow recommendations by rote. In the most recent inspection calling for the change of the cabin filter, they noted the filter was no where near in need of replacement, saving me over $100 in costs. I trust Petty's judgement and have taken their advise on many services, including some extensive work that extends the life of my vehicle. I have one vehicle with over 150K miles that continues to run like a new vehicle with the proper, routine maintenance. read more

Petty Motorworks to the rescue! When the ABS and Traction Control icons appeared on my dash, I took my Jeep to Petty Motorworks. Tom checked it out right away and determined wheel sensor was issue. He explained the situation, cleared the system, ordered the part, and set up appointment. Returned for repair which was completed when promised and Tom kept me updated on progress and pricing (no surprise ever from this shop). Once again, a fantastic experience and great people. I brought my car to Petty Motorworks, for oil in my coolant. They reviewed multiple paths for me to take with my vehicle. They were upfront and let me know that the service was not worth pursuing due to the mileage (180,000) and resale value, but they did give me a plan to continue with my vehicle with limited cost of maintenance as opposed to a 6+ thousand dollar repair. You go there for honesty, and it's worth every penny! read more

This shop is wonderful and the only place I TRUST to take any of my trucks/ cars to have work done. They do great work, reasonably priced, and efficient. Found out yesterday afternoon while getting a flat fixed that a tie rod was about to fail on our Lincoln MKX. Was not at somewhere I'd get mechanical work done. Called Tommy at Petty Motorworks and he got me in this am. Work was done around noon including an alignment. Gave our vehicle a once over and found no other issues. Just had my 03 Corvette in for service. Really great people who do good work at a fair price. Mechanic Rich did a great job installing my new custom exhaust system and took the extra time to perfectly align the stainless tips. Highly recommend this shop. Only one issue.
