I rather frequent this PetSmart than the one on Clear Lake City Blvd and the one on Almeda (which is the hood). This location is the only one that sells Purina Fortiflora with probiotics for dogs. This product works if your dog is struggling with probiotics and has the runs. In February 2023, I adopted a rat terrier mix, Sneakers from a lady out in Buna, TX to "save his life" from being euthanized. I quickly learned that Sneakers suffers with food sensitivity and poor digestive health. So anytime, he stumbles into something he isn't supposed to eat. His stomach will make loud gurgling noises throughout the night which indicates he's about to have diarrhea. When he does poop, it's disgustingly gross and has a pungent odor that fills a room. Before, I purchased the Fortiflora from Amazon for $30 and would have to wait for it's arrival. However, that box is lost. PetSmart Baybrook sells the powder for $33. They also have the pill form 45 ct for $47. They sell Proviable forte, but for cats. I've used this product before, but was prescribed it by Sneakers primary vet. It isn't as effective as the Fortiflora. Another thing that I like about this location is that they have a reasonable clearance rack. They've gotten better about their selection, organization, and customer service. Today, I had the pleasure of an associate assisting me with securing the Fortiflora which isn't on the shelves. You have to request it and notify the cashier upon checkout. The associate I spoke with was very nice and informative. Surprisingly, they also sell Skout's Honor stain and odor remover at a reasonable price. This product works very quick to remove any strong odor that your pet leaves and takes away the stain. I remember my brother having this product and Sneakers had a diarrhea dump on his carpet. Cleaning it up with paper towels and soap didn't work to remove the smell. However, I sprayed Skout's Honor and was shocked on how effectively it penetrated the carpet to remove the enzymes causing the odor and the dog feces. Just recently they've began to have dog chips, bagels, cinnamon rolls, ribs, and other human imitating snacks. It's kinda cool. Of course, Petsmart doesn't have the cheapest products, however, it's a lot affordable than Petco and Pet Supplies Plus. read more

Took over 5 1/2 hours to groom my dog. They said she was restless, that they had to take 2 breaks. When I picked her up, we barely got outside, she peed and peed. She was obviously restless because she had to pee! She peed and pooped right before we went in. In 10 years, I've never had complaints about her being difficult. When I called the store today, it seemed like the gal was being dismissive. Sometimes they get overbooked, sometimes other dogs cause delays. I am sympathetic to that, of course, but if my dog was being uncooperative, and they had to take 2 breaks, they should have called me. I would have come walked the dog. Their system and the manager's nonchalant attitude, however, shows me that they are unprepared to be appropriately mindful of the dogs in their service. And, the dog looked pretty hacked up as a result. I travel, PetSmart has just been the easiest option for getting my dog groomed, but I won't be back to this location. I live closer to a Petco but they never seem to have the whitefish dog food my dog likes so I started driving a little bit further out to shop at this nearby PetSmart instead. The shelves were a bit bare this evening, likely due to the ongoing supply chain issues going on worldwide but they still had my dog's food. The service is also always good here. Friendly and helpful staff which is what sealed the deal for me and made this my new go-to pet store. read more

I ordered a basic wash and 15 minutes extra for brushing. Specifically went over what was included before handing off. After two hours, I went and asked how much longer they said he was in the dryer still . They told me 30 to 40 more minutes so I waited then I went back in and they said he was still in the dryer and 30 to 40 more minutes so I asked if he at least had his brushing I wouldn't mind taking him. " I brushed him a little, but it's probably not to what you would like." So I waited in the store and I saw a manager go in and assist to start to brush him and then he came out and told me he's ready to go . I then saw a paper that said 20% off behind my paper because she lifted it up and she put it on the chair behind her and didn't present it to me . After three hours, I was now in a rush to get to a graduation celebration so I just paid and left. I asked if it normally takes that long for the basic and the manager that was checking me out said it and then talked to the cashier about how they have callouts. (I don't know why they wouldn't block out bookings online if that was the reason. I scheduled in the afternoon. I wouldn't have minded a phone call to tell me another day would be better rather than waiting that long.for nothing) Just to realize when I got home that it looks like he literally just got wet and they did nothing else . I brushed him five minutes and got loads of hair. His paws were not trimmed. His teeth were not brushed. And he didn't even smell like shampoo and his hair was wild. My dog has been going to Petsmart for 3 years now. She is 4. The groomers have always praised her and how sweet she is. This week I took her in for regular grooming and after about an hour or so I received i call that they couldn't finish the grooming because my dog had bitten the groomer on the face. I was shocked. I went immediately to pick her up which only took 5 minutes since I was shopping in the next store over. Coming in I immediately noticed that the groomer didn't have a bite on her cheek. Her cheek didn't have a mark or even a red spot which would have shown since the groomer had very light skin. I apologized and mentioned i was so grateful to see that her cheeks wasn't even red. As I looked back at all the years of grooming, I could see my dog had never been groomed by this lady. P in fact, I had never seen that groomer before. So, my take on this is that the groomer was new perhaps. My dog seemed especially traumatized for the remainder of that day and the next. She is finally back to her usual personality. I am looking for a new place to take my dig as I no longer trust their hiring of groomers. I would NOT recommend taking your pets to this Petsmart. read more

2/8/2024 we took our 5 1/2 old puppy in for a nail trim. He was already stressed out due to the car ride. He's a traumatized dog already as he came from a puppy mill unbeknownst to us. The employee took our puppy, put a slip leash around his neck, put him down and started walking ahead not looking behind her. He had not out in a public place at this point getting services with a lot of people so he was petrified. He was digging his feet in to try to get her to stop but she never looked behind her. She dragged and choked him. I got angry and told her to give him back to us that we would take him elsewhere. Another employee copped an attitude and when I told her what I thought about it she and I both went back and forth with one another. We got our puppy back and before I knew what hit me some big boned girl came lunging out from behind the employee counter into the customer area where we were and she was shoving her hands and fingers in my face screaming at me very angrily. I'm 59 and she is 38. Not to mention I and my boyfriend are both disabled. She pushed me, hit me, kicked me and threw a huge brown paper towel roll at my head. I had to go to the hospital because I have an aneurysm on the side of the abdomen where she kicked me. She bruised my stomach. I was in pain for at least three weeks. There was NO reason, rhyme or warrant for her behavior that day. I'm suing her and petsmart both. We both are. This is the location on Bay Area blvd. They don't know how to handle animals especially innocent little puppies. read more

I walked into Petsmart to get a nail trim for my two small dogs. Their dog salon says walk-ins are welcome. I walk in, ask for a nail trim and they say they do not take walk-ins, despite their sign saying they do take walkins. They said that the pandemic has changed their walk-in services. Their next appointment, for a simple nail trim is not for three weeks! That is ridiculous, for a nail trim! I proceed to schedule a nail trim for a future date, and they tell me the nail trims are only done in the afternoons from 3 PM on. Ridiculous! They have lost me as a long-time customer! I boarded my dog for 6 days. On the last day, I requested to have my dog bathed and nails trimmed. I picked up the dog and the first thing I noticed were her nails. They were not cut nor trimmed or filed. So I asked the groomer why. She said the nails were not long enough. I was coming home from a business trip. I was tired and had no time to argue. On two of those visits staff members create a longer line to check out because they choose to have three staff members helping one customer while everyone is standing in a circle waiting for them to help and that happened 2×2 different visits. Went to visit my folks in Houston and my dad usually brings his dog Max here to his groomer Hailey but she moved to another location. It's too far for my dad to go where his groomer was so he decided to try someone new. He's been going here for 5 years and this is the first time he got Max back and still has a smell like he wasn't bathe but only given a cut. My dad was disappointed and so I had to give him a bath when I saw him. Poor guy. My dad will not be going to this Petsmart anymore for the groomers because of the decline in their customer service. read more

Absolutely the worst! The groomer Shelby was coughing and sneezing all over the place and not covering her mouth. Our puppy just turned 5 month old 2 weeks ago and went to groomers 2.5 weeks ago. I made an appointment 2 days before I brought him in for his shampoo and trim. Not a single person tried calling or apologized to tell me he turned 5 months and I needed to bring all his paperwork in with updated shots. I would have brought this in with me if they had said we can't take him if you don't have this paperwork. They take puppies without paperwork until they reach 5 months. My horrible experience isn't about their policy, it's about the customer service, rude behavior, and lack of care. The grooming manager was even worse and I wouldn't leave a stuffed animal with these bozos. Moreover, I watched the way the groomers treated the other animals as I stood there trying to call my vet's office on a Sunday and I am glad this happened because I am appalled at the way they yank the dogs around and with the lady coughing everywhere I thanked my lucky stars I didn't leave our puppy. Hubby and I recently moved to the Webster area from Katy and needed a new place to get our puppies groomed. We have two 6 month old maltipoos and their hair was very long and shaggy. We treat them like our babies so we were very skeptical about bringing them here since I read previous bad reviews. I'm glad to say that our experience here was a pleasant one. We had never been here before so when making their grooming appointment we had to randomly select a groomer for them. I'm very happy we picked Shelby. Right from the start she got us talking about what kind of haircut/style we wanted for our babies. Also, we discussed what needed to be done about one of the puppies since her leg was very matted due to a splint being recently removed. When we picked up our puppies I was in disbelief. Shelby did such an amazing job! I simply never thought our puppies could look so good! Overall I'm very happy with the results we got. We are definitely coming back when needed! read more

I have been boarding my little angel, Pepe (chihuahua), here for a couple of years. He is now 9.5 years old and at first, I had a lot of reservations about leaving him when we went on a 10 day trip to Hawaii in 2011. He has a special diet, so I went over his feeding instructions, and set up his individual play times (since he does not do doggie day camp). They listened to all of my concerns and assured me that they would take great care of him! Well, they did, and continue to do so. What I love about Petsmart Hotel is that they have someone on site 24 hours/day, 7 days/week (even on holidays). This is comforting to me in the event something were to happen to my fur baby. Do your due diligence, most other boarding facilities do not have someone there 24 hours/day!! These people LOVE your pet as their own, and even give you a report card on how he/she did when you pick him/her up. Thank you so much Petsmart!! read more

i don't know that i would board my pets at this particular location again. We booked a last minute trip, and since we've used petsmart before to board our dogs, we used these guys since it was so close to the holidays and they were close to the cruise port. We faxed all the pertinent information days before their stay. I received fax confirmation and even called to confirm receipt. On the day we checked the dogs in, we were told they couldn't stay because they didn't have updated vaccination records. i told them I faxed everything - they denied receiving it - saying their fax machine hadn't worked in weeks (I asked if that were the case - why did they 1. give me the fax number when I called, 2. confirmed receipt when I called, and 3. why was a fax coming in at that moment - and pointed to the fax machine). Anyway, I had brought another copy of everything with me. We picked up the dogs - and they tried to charge us double the rate we were quoted when we dropped them off - and they pointed to a large sign that said, "holiday rates may apply). Thankfully, before we left, I had them print out the quoted price. Next, our dogs came out and were wet and had dried urine all over their legs. I asked why they smelled like pee - and was told it was a busy week. There was no progress reports kept, and they couldn't tell me how the dogs did for the week. They "lost" the dog bag we brought that had premeasured food and treats, their bed/blankets, and bowls. The bag is a nice thirty-one tote with the dogs' names embroidered on it. They found the bag, and when I opened it, nothing had been used. Our dogs lost about 6 lbs in the five days they were there, were thirstier than thirsty when we got them home, and have had diarrhea. To top it all off, they called me this morning to let me know we needed to come in and pay more money because even though we asked they be kept in one kennel - they were kept in two kennels and charged us for only one. Do you think that's going to happen? You pay a premium price to kennel your pets at Petsmart - and you should get better customer service. I don't think my dogs ate the entire time they were there, and from the sounds of it - never taken out of their kennel to go the bathroom and used the bathroom in the kennel because "it was a busy week." The answer I heard over and over. I'd like to think that the gal at the counter was the issue and that even though the dogs didn't eat their food, etc. - they were fed, walked, etc. but because no records were kept, I have no way of knowing- so I'm hoping that's the issue and not the worst case scenario. In any event, I think a different location might be the way to go. read more

I just have cats so I don't go in here too often; I don't bring the cats in on leashes to play or get treats. Although my cat Gage might enjoy the little critters in the cages...but I doubt that would be appreciated by the employees. I'm not sure that's the treats they are offering. lol I do come here for pretty much one thing....this seems to be the only place that sells extra large cat litter boxes at a reasonable price. I have one of the hugest cat in the Clear Lake area and he needs a LOT of room to, er....do his duty. I do buy cat toys here occasionally, but truthfully my cats are just as happy with paper and boxes rather than expensive cat toys. Cats rock! Recently they have been offering a $3 coupon on the receipt if you take a survey so that's been a big plus as I like to buy a new litter box about once a month to keep things clean and tidy. I also like that the little pets they sell (the birds, rats, mice, etc.) seem to be well taken care of and have clean cages. Definitely a great place to come and pick up pet supplies at a decent price; they do have pet adoptions on Saturdays and I am not allowed to shop here then otherwise I would bring them all home. read more

Great selection of dog foods, and I love the concept of bringing my puppy into the store with me - someday...when we can behave ourselves... And despite the fact that I'm sure a million dogs have accidents in here every day, the store is always clean and tidy. Also, since my dog eats insane amounts of food, sleeps in an insanely large crate, and is going to grow up to be insanely large in general, I usually need help taking my insanely large purchases out to the car. The workers always offer to help, and even load my trunk for me! One guy even taught me how to put down the backseat of my car (a skill I have apparently not mastered after years of owning it). I boarded my dog for 2 days. They left him in a pee filled kennel and when I got him back he stunk so bad of urine that we had to roll the windows down just to get him home. Their responses were unsatisfactory as well, coroprate has NOT addressed the issue of my prized dog's ruined coat. I have peroxided, chalked, and washed him numerous times. He is still stained and discolored. NEVER BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE! This place is not good to the animals, and I know the people who did it. I counted most of them as friends and coworkers but still they destroyed my dogs coat. read more

My dog came out looking worse than when she went in. They didn't even attempt to trim/clean her face or cut her hair out of her eyes. Her feet weren't even touched. You can tell she really cares about her clientele and won't sell you a fish if it's not going to survive in the tank you choose! Ive been to another Pet store & they didn't seem interested in what type of fish I have or size of tank, When I came to her with my fish story, she explained what was happening and what WE needed to do to make it right! I've seen her interacting w the baby Conures, reptiles and fuzzies! Getting them socialized for their new homes. I can't say enough about someone who obviously takes pride and loves what they do! Took our new dog here to be groomed and they did an amazing job! Our new Dixie was pretty scared and had been through a lot of changed so the groomer took her time and made sure she did everything she could to make her comfortable! The groomer also spent a lot of time helping me figure out how I wanted her cut and trimmed. Dixie isn't your average dog to be groomed she's a Border Collie Great Pyrenees mix and she looks amazing! I took my Maltipoo there today for grooming as I have the last two years and this time after I picked him up I saw large chunks of long hair that was missed all over him. His face was dirty too. Feet not done, long hair on legs. I would have gone back but traffic was a nightmare so when I got home I had to trim all the chunks off him with scissors. $69 for a crappy job. I made it very clear to the groomers I did not want my dog shaved. I come back to him totally shaved and paws cracked. I was extremly angry and he looked like a total dork. I cannot believe the groomers shaved him totally down after I specified before on the phone and dropping off that I did not want him that close cut. I know you always take a chance with groomer but I have never had it this bad. He also has shave burns around his eyes, paws, and potty area. I had to rub ointment on his paws because he was whinning about them. Do NOT take your dog here to be groomed. read more

Had a bad start on buying a fish but ended up with an awesome experience. I came in to buy 2 fish and one lady came up said if I needed help. I said yes I do. I told her I was looking for 2 fish for 3.5g tank and wanted to buy the starter pack ( the water additives ) she said the fish will die if you buy it and that you don't need get fish and so forth. YES WITH THAT ATTITUDE. another lady came by and helped was sweet as can be. She helped me choose 2 fish and the additives and now have had them for a week and are alive and healthy and I love them! It's always great to have good employees to over come the bad apples. read more

If I could I would give it zero stars, my fiancé was pregnant when she worked here , she was an employee when she was treated badly . She requested that she not work with big dogs in the hotel , cause she had fallen several times walking them . But her request was ignored , and the employees began to talk badly about her when she wasn't around . Thankfully two employees told her about the rude comments that were being said and so my fiancé quit , and our healthy 5 month old is doing wonderful . read more

Staff here are always friendly. Their frozen fish food section is never fully stocked. I always have to drive to petco because petsmart is out of stock on something. However manager on duty is always nice and offer to call other stores to check if they have the item I'm looking for. I've been coming here for years and their service has always been great. read more
