I see exactly why this location has two stars. My dogs were playing this morning and she ripped one side of her nail from the base. I called PetSmart, spoke to a girl and gave her the background on it. She explained to me that I could bring her in to have it looked at. When I walked in, of course they always ask for your phone number. I gave her my number then she proceeded to ask me for my dog's current rabies paperwork. I looked her dead in her eyes and asked her "why didn't you ask me my information over the phone. The paperwork for my dog is at home. She sarcastically replied "I didn't know the dog's paperwork was expired. " To keep me from acting out, I turned around and walked out. I should've had the right mind not to use this grooming department because I have used them in the past for both my dogs and either one comeback with sores or shedding more after I got him back than when I took him there. My husband decided not to use them any longer but because my vet is an hour away I said let's give it a try. I don't mind the employees in the store. They're quite helpful very nice and I've never had an issue with any of the store employees. But the grooming department is totally different. If you don't like your job, find something else. Our pets are our babies. We love them dearly, so why would anyone continue bringing their dogs there when you can't follow basics steps of your own job. Meaning, if somebody called you twice and decided to bring their dog up there why wouldn't you ask that person for their phone number to ensure everything is current, take the extra step, even though that may be a part of your job. Horrible service. Before going I looked over the reviews and I was wondering how bad this place is... after the today's visit I can tell they do deserve the 2 starts overall... This is my second time to this place, I was here once in 2020 and refused to wash my dog because it has his rabies vaccine in a German pet passport, my dog being a German shepherd dog... they only accept rabies from an American vet... same as today If you are traveling and have your dog with you and you want to groom it, you basically need to over vaccinate your dog. I've had the absolute worst experience at your Petsmart Grooming Salon in Waxahachie, TX. The groomer who goes by BJ was rude, disrespectful, and dismissive during my check in this morning. She cause me such anxiety that I felt uncomfortable with her servicing anyone's pet family. My malamute, Kjng, has been coming for grooming services at that location for over 13years. Absolutely will not ever take my dog for grooming! I took my 4 mo old toy yorkie to his very first grooming appointment! Previously he has been bathed and combed at home but he would not allow us to cut his hair and nails so I figured taking him to a professional would be a better option! WRONG!!!! When I picked up my puppy he had been shaved completely! They then proceeded to tell me that they added on a $20 de-matting fee. I went back and forth because I was actually confused how they de-matted anything when the appointment lasted no longer than 30 mins and they literally took clippers and shaved him bald! I am highly upset And will not be returning to say the least! So if you want your puppy to be shaved bald... this is your place to go! Absolutely terrible service. I've been a petsmart customer for over a decade but my visit here recently was the last time I'll give them my business. I have adopted dogs through shelters on multiple occasions where I picked the dog up at a local petsmart and was given a booklet with coupons to help reduce the cost of new supplies. My wife and I recently adopted a stray off the streets that had been in our neighborhood for roughly 2 months and needed all new things for her since she is a mastiff and our current dogs are both no more than 15 lbs. I asked an associate who subsequently asked a manager if I could have that booklet again to help with the cost of new supplies, I didn't mind paying the cost but I figured it wouldn't hurt asking to see if they could help. The manager told me now quoting "You didn't adopt a dog" in a snide/condescending way even though I had all the shot records and pictures of her when she was on the street. I get it Petsmart doesn't want to give a discount to people they didn't make money off of on the adoption itself but you could at least have some tact when saying that. With this experience in the past I will be sure to never to return and look forward to shopping at Pet Supplies Plus where in just one visit I've been shown more customer service than in the last 10 years at petsmart. read more

Take the pups here often and the experience has just gotten worse over time. $166 dollars for two dogs full services and got home with knots under the arms and it looks like the cut hair didn't get combed out, eyes on both left dirty, nails not done, teeth not brushed and complimentary bandannas not placed on the dogs as normal. Additionally, the dogs don't smell like they've had a bath. Normally there is a fragrant perfume applied. The original appointment was set for Sunday at 2 PM and Sunday morning. We got a call that the appointment had to be canceled due to groomers simply not showing up to work. The appointment got moved to Tuesday at 2 PM, at 9 AM Tuesday morning we received a phone call asking if we could possibly bring the two dogs in early That they had groomers available that needed to work. So we moved our schedule around again accommodated the request to bring the dogs there early. We got to Petsmart around 10 AM and then we were told the dogs wouldn't be ready for 3 to 4 hours? Then why get them there earlier than 2 PM? The dogs were ready within about two hours. We moved our schedule around again to get there earlier than planned. Got the dogs home and noticed all of the issues and just a really poor quality service that have been offered. Placed a phone call and was told a complete refund would be given, made the round-trip to go back in which was another hour to get the refund since one cannot be done over the phone. The dog grooming service is a service rendered and needs to be of service quality. Currently it isn't you can see that not only was it a bad grooming experience, but a bad experience in general with all of the cancellations in the movement of the appointment and then traveling back-and-forth to get the refund . Would I do this again knowing that I could potentially go through all of this and still have an issue with the overall grooming ? No, probably not, in years past we had groomed our own dogs, and really done a fine job but it's time consuming. This experience took 3 hours away from us, it takes two hours to do the grooming ourselves and we own the equipment. In the past three years we've spent about $1900 or more dollars at Pet Smart just in dog grooming. If we add all the money we've spent there it's well over 4K. A month ago I purchased 5 fish for my aquariums at home. And since I purchased 1 cichlid a young lady put dnr on my bag and receipt. Not even 1 week later 3 of the fish died due to Ick and no I do not have my cichlid in the same tank with them. This is my second and last visit to Petsmart Grooming in Waxahachie. I have a BernieDoodle, they have naturally long curly coats. On her first visit I asked that her coat be shaved close because she had some matting and that's what was done. An appoint was made then a month later. Her coat had begun to grow out slightly and her curls were beginning to form again. I called to change her appointment and went over her services over the phone and told the rep I did not want her shaved again. When I dropped her off this morning, I said again I did not want her shaved just neatened up around her face and paws. One of the stylist took a look at her ears and said she would need to remove a "big chunk" because her hair was beginning to tangle again. I arrived to pick my dog up and she indeed had been shaved from ears to toe. I stated that was not what I asked for and was told it was a long blade and it just removed the long pieces. Again not what I asked for. Her signature coat was coming in nicely, now we are starting over again. I paid 112 + tax and my instructions were not followed. We will not be visiting PetSmart Grooming again. Very disappointed. read more

This is Ollie. He is almost 11 years old. He's going blind and has back and hip issues. He loves to be groomed and told how handsome he looks after. We have been using the grooming services here for 5 years. This weekend we were told that OLLIE CAN'T COME BACK. The reason why: he can't stand more than 50% of the time(he sits his butt down). We have constantly asked the groomers to clip his back end first so they won't have issue. Multiple times I have stayed to shop and have noticed they started on his front end anyway. He's old, he's going to want to sit like any old man. But he's a sweet heart. It's like being told your handicapped child isn't allowed to come to preschool anymore. Shame on petsmart for this rule. When he was picked up this last time the haircut was fine but he smelled bad like he wasn't bathed and he wasn't in his normal happy mood like the groomer was fussy with him. He was exhausted and immediately went to sleep once we got home instead of doing his normal strut around the house to show off his hair cut. Don't be a groomer of you're not an animal person. It's Christmas time and stores are busy, so I said ok. Came in for the appointment, & they said it had been rescheduled to another day AND they wouldn't honor the original appointment. No consideration & all this for their own convenience. All the staff did was pass the buck. my wife spoke to store manager and he seemed to want to help. He offered free grooming but I can't leave my dogs with these people. Find a different groomer, if they treat customers like this, imagine how they treat the dogs. read more

Don't normally leave reviews but felt it was appropriate. When we left our dog for grooming the woman behind the counter was extremely short and rude to my wife. (We all have bad days so it's understandable). When I picked him up I encountered either the same woman or someone else who was equally as rude and short. Again I get we all have bad days but if you work in customer service it would be good to reign it in at some point. Also, our dog's cut was uneven, not what we asked specifically for and she chased my dog around the little lobby of grooming salon spraying Cologne on him from a bottle spray while I stood there and he ran behind my legs. Well everytime I make the drive from Ennis to Waxahachie to come to this pet store I'm disappointed. The dog grooming department needs new management and groomers. Make the appt a week ago and arrive today to be told that they do not have the dogs rabbies records as marked as current. I tried to explain that the dogs get their shots every three years. Lady was very abrupt and had a bad attitude. I was told that I would have to come back another day. When I gave them the shot records they did not write down the right info. Why didn't they just make a copy. Another day wasted. I have had this kind of thing happen at this location many times and will never be back. We have used Petsmart groomers in the past but the last two times have me looking for another groomer. We have two yorkies... we dropped one of them off at 9am and was told it would be around 3 hours. After 5 hours we called and was told they are running behind and would be just a little bit longer. After many more calls and 9 hours later our puppy was finally finished. When we got him home we noticed many clumps around his ears that was not taken care of and we are unsure if they did half of what we paid them to do. There were also many areas where the groomer cut way down to the skin. If you don't mind your fur babies to be locked in a small cage for hours and you don't mind half the job done then this will be a good place. Lol ... there are many other groomers out there that actually care about your pets. read more

Sweetest little girl you could meet. When we went to pick her up she was given back to us with 2, yes, 2 paw nails MISSING! GONE to the nub. She was BLEEDING and no on offered no explanation or had answers. She was groomed by Alli. Alli did not return Cali to us for pick up. It was a different groomer. Manager Tamara was contacted and we were told Cali's nails got caught on the drain in the grates AFTER her bath. Why didn't Alli say something to the manager on duty, or call me about my baby BLEEDING/INJURED BEFORE she cut her hair? This is what ANGERED AND UPSET ME. WE were NEVER TOLD about this UNTIL my baby's time for pick up. It was brought to our attention in a MATTER OF FACT/NONCHALANT way. The manager refunded our money and paid for the VET bill. Petsmart had 5 lbs at $24.99. I had never bought it before so I didn't know I was being ripped off. A week later, I was at HEB, they had 9 1/2 lbs for $28.88. Same stuff. She's lazy and wants to shave dogs down instead of brushing them out and grooming them. I've had her twice. Both times she wanted to shave. The other times my dog was groomed without incident. My 1year old lab Maggie is always very excited to meet anyone. She's extremely loving and at times can be rambunctious when playing or hearing her trigger words(Walk, Treat, Mommy/Daddy's Home). We have used this grooming service twice before and she always comes back somber and depressed. We didn't think much about this, for she was always back to normal within 10min of being home. Today was her third appointment, and I have never seen the fear she displayed in trying to get as far away from one of the groomers who came to take her back. (SHE EVEN LOVES GOING TO THE VET!) Against my better judgment, I left the store and sat in the parking lot, feeling uneasy. About 5min later the store called and said "she would not calm down and I would need to pick her up." I walked into the store...and Maggie sprinted to us, burrowing her head into our arms. I hope I never find out what they did to make my sweet baby so frantic. I went to Petsmart to have my Chow groomed. He was 8 months old. NOT an aggressive Chow, but he can be stubborn and finicky at times. My Chow comes from a long line of champions and has very long hair. I asked and paid for "express", which means they are supposed to work straight through without putting him in a kennel. The first time the woman did a reasonable job, but when I picked my dog up he was still partially wet. She gave no explanation and I didn't really notice until I got home. Not a huge deal, but still... The second time I went to petsmart (1 month later) the woman (different woman this time) called me and said she couldn't handle my dog because he would not allow her to brush him. So I went and picked him up. The third time I asked for the first woman since she seemed to not have any issues. She called me after 2 hours and said there was no way she was going to be able to finish him because it takes too long to dry him and she wanted to put him in a kennel with fans instead of blow drying him. Also he was not "behaving well".This is a bad idea for Chows like mine as they will easily overheat. I went and picked him up. At this point I was starting to think my Chow was too much trouble for groomers and they were not going to be able to help me, UNTIL I called Aprils Pet Groomers in Red Oak. OMG. Wonderful place. The short version is when I went to pick up my Chow from April she said "This is the best and easiest Chow I have ever groomed". He looked great. Was very happy. I am happy.
