Staff here is always so nice and friendly. I love the atmosphere, everything is clean and there's always someone around to help. This place gets pretty busy on the weekends but there's always staff ready to help, and they never act "too busy". They will drop whatever they're doing to help a customer and that's hard to come by. I come to PetSmart about once a month, sometimes more. I had one bad experience with PetSmart Corporate when I ordered something online and the order somehow went to a store a few hours down south. The staff at the Visalia PetSmart was SO HELPFUL! They told me to call the store the order accidentally went to. The staff at that store was very helpful as well and they told me their system was down and they were unable to cancel the order, but they gave me the number for the corporate office and told me they should be able to help. Worst experience ever. It was a Friday afternoon, around 5pm but someone answered the phone. I didn't get her name but if I did I would have been sure to make a complaint. This woman was so rude! When I told her what happened she told me I had called the wrong number and I needed to call the store the order had gone to. I explained that I had and she was talking to me like I was taking up her time. This is her job, I should be a priority and not a nuisance. And I wasn't even asking for a lot, I asked for her to cancel the order and she kept coming up with excuses after excuses to not do that. She finally decided that I would just have to wait until the store down south's system was up again. She ended up hanging up on ME after I had told her I didn't think that was a good idea. She said something like "have a good day" and just ended the call. I went back into the store (understandably) angry. I let the woman who was helping us inside the store know what had happened and how upset I was. I told her I would just purchase the item again in store and figure the rest out later. The item I wanted ended up getting discounted and the assured me it would be taken care of. Sure enough, everything ended up ok! I was so appreciative of the Visalia PetSmart staff. They are incredibly friendly and nice. I will always continue to work with PetSmart. read more

I don't think I have ever had a bad experience, maybe waiting a bit long for help on the floor. I buy the tubs of cat litter and the big bag of food for my three cats and as I have problems with my hands, ask for help in picking up my items and helping me to the car. Sometimes I just head to that area to ask for help, sometimes I have had to go to the front, but someone always shows up and always very friendly and nice. read more

I rescued a kitten during my morning walk this Saturday. I have no experience owning a cat and with it being the weekend I had little options in finding information. I came here kitten in hand and left feeling confident in getting threw the weekend till I can get it to a vet. Every employee was extremely helpful, very product knowledgeable and helped me feel comfortable in becoming a new kitty mommy. Thank you to who helped. read more

We picked up my boys first dog today from the Tulare Animal Services shelter. Being our first pet we had zero supplies at home for our new family member. So our first logical stop was our local PetSmart in Visalia, CA. What a royal waist of time and fuel. The store was pretty much empty with no other customers in sight, both of my boys and I went to the back of the store to look for a dog house, we stood there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come and assist us on getting a large dog house, food, a bed plus more supplies. Well, no one showed up, there was two employees in the grooming department just texting their hearts away and giving us the occasional look and smirk. I went to the front of the store and spoke with the cashier and she indicated that someone would be with me shortly. Well, I went back to the dog houses section for another 15 minutes, and surprise, no one showed up. How can you justify having an empty store and no employees to assist your only client? I was really upset, I told my kids that it was time to go, and when I was passing by the cashier I told her that no one showed up to assist us, to which she replied "Ok". Good grief, how bad can customer service get? I got back in my car and googled pet supplies on my phone and I found a store in called Petsense in the Tulare outlets, I called the number to verify that they had dog houses for sale, and Richard, the guy in the other side of the line, not only he confirmed that indeed they had dog houses for sale, he also was very courteous and inviting. I drove my kids back to Tulare straight to Petsense. And 30 minutes later I had gladly spent over $300, and I mean gladly, I left that store with a big smile on my face. Richard takes customer service to the next level. If any of the PetSmart managers are reading this, please send your employees to Petsense so they can get a great example of what they are supposed to do. At the end of the day, I have happy kids and a happy dog. Thanks to Richard and Petsense. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would! Your manager (Desaree) was very rude! I contacted corporate and hopefully they have a talk with her about her customer service skills. That's the last time I shop in there for any pet supplies! read more

Horrible return service. I purchased $150 item that I ended up not using. Tried to return it a couple months later and they would not accept the return. This is why we shop Costco for all pet supplies. How can you have only a 60 day return policy and stay in business?? read more

Their fish are in terrible shape. Every time I've been in, there's dead fish in several tanks. Against my better judgement, I bought a black veil tail angelfish. When I got it home, noted that it wasn't as lively as my other angelfish. After a couple hours I noted that the fish's dies looked filmy and realized it had a fungus infection. I immediately took it out and put it in an isolation tank, but it was too late. By morning it was dead. Within a matter of days, all the other fish in that tank died, despite my treating with fungus meds and doing partial water changes. When I brought the dead fish back, they seemed unsurprised and refunded my purchase price. They didn't even ask what had happened to it. Horrible fish care. read more

Not bad. Pretty good service. They seem to take pretty good care of their animals there too, which is a lot more than I can say for Petco down the street. read more

I have been taking my dog to PetSmart for grooming for a couple years. I found the quality of work varies depending on who is the groomer. The most recent experience is rather disappointing. My dog still had the odor before she was bath. My guess is it was 3:00 P.M. Saturday Appointment. The groomer did a sloppy job because she wants to go home. I am looking for another grooming service. read more

We went to the store just to pick up some basics for our new puppy. All the workers were friendly, the store was very clean (considering the amount of pets in there, amazingly so), and when we spoke to one of the trainers, Katie, she was incredibly helpful and gave us some great advice for our dog. We will definitely be signing up for the puppy class, and will be shopping there from now on for our pet needs :) read more

I was at Petsmart 5/29/19 my first visit I was greeted at the door, I came across an employee right away his name was Michael, I remember his name because my Brothers name is Michael. Michael was so friendly and helped me thru out my shopping and carried every thing for me up to the register. Michael had given me great advice and so helpful, as I was new at this with a new addition to our family, I am disabled and have a hard time walking very much, he saved me many steps I am so grateful for his help he even helped me to my car, he went above and beyond, my only regret is not offering a tip, dummy me. I spent over a $100 quite a few items and the coupon book at the register saved me $$$. Thank You so much Michael. read more

We've been taking our cocker mix here to be groomed for years. I used to really love the service he got here but won't be bringing him back here again. The last few "haircuts" he's gotten have been poorly done leaving large tufts of uncut fur all over his body. Yesterday, my husband dropped him off and specifically asked them to make sure that they trimmed between his toes because he's prone to getting bad mats there. When we took him for our morning walk today, the poor dog limped and finally refused to go any further. Not only did he have a huge mat between two toes with an imbedded stick in it, he had an abrasion under a second mat (which we discovered when we trimmed his paws ourselves when we got home). Poor dog! I'm sure there are lots of competent groomers in this area so do yourself (and your dog) a favor and don't go to PetSmart groomers! read more

The manager Sabrina was rude- she initially stated she would honor their coupon on my purchase and then said 'no' The grooming staff was amazing but the manager was not a woman of her word I'll shop elsewhere now. read more

The other day I went into PetSmart looking for lizard supplies for my new bearded dragon, and being a first time owner I had no clue what things to buy and one of the employees came up to me and asked if I needed any help and I gladly said yes and told him my situation and he patiently walked through the store with me, and showed me everything I needed and gave me a lot of information on bearded dragons he had great customer service and was such a really nice guy I will definitely be shopping here again if John is reading this Thank you so much! read more

Nice store, a little pricey but friendly and helpful staff. Good and easy to find assortment. Other customers seemed snooty and elitist but not that big of a problem. The pet store to go to for sure! Much better than petco! read more

I would recommend this pet store. I have always had a great experience here. They are willing to help with any information regarding care for any of your pets. They were very kind in letting the kids handle and learn about the animals......had a lot of patience and great interaction. They have great groomers too. They always show lots of love for the animals. Great small town local business. A great resource for pet lovers. read more

Now I have a Siberian Husky with back and hip problems. She was needing her paws shaved, teeth brushed, and ears cleaned. Huskies have hairy paws due to it protects their tooties from the bitting snow. Factor hairy paws, the injury, with a slicker than snot floor. What do you think will happen??? Slip n slide. So, I being me, pick her up and carry her to the spa. I was holding on to tight and she left a trail of feces and all over me. It is my fault. I go up to the counter and try to explain what happpened. I give my information and thos female decides that they can not groom her. I ask for some paper towels so I can clean up my mess while they do jer. I am brought papertowels and I start cleaming up. I explain to her how it happened. I look up and there is 3 females all talking. I explain I am going deaf and please one at a time. That was ignored. One of the females goes and gets the manger, and she is yacking away. All I could make out was your dog has gotten worse. This woman has no medical training nor has any of them heard what I said. All I can do is look at the orginal female I started off with and state take my info out of your data base and cancel my rewards card. I doubt she heard me. I am never coming back or recommending this to anyone else...... read more

Pretty much as good as a big chain pet store gets. The piggies have plenty of room and all the animals look healthy. Even the fish are well kept. They are very deceptive on their price tags though and I've gotten tricked several times. A little expensive on somethings but they are basically a giant pet convenience store. read more
