Our pup is aggressive and bit one of the techs during the saliva sampling - we were absolutely mortified and felt so terrible but the whole staff was so understanding. Everyone there is so sweet and we look forward to the partnership to find a long term solution for our dog. We left with Chinese herbs to help with his severe skin allergies so I'm excited to see if these help him out in the next few weeks! We will also have a follow up consultation once his food allergy test results come back (it's about a 2-3 week lead time).

Because of the cost, I needed some time before bringing my second cat in. During that time my second cat had a medical emergency -- a urinary blockage. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where the bill escalated quickly since everything was out of pocket. The emergency vet suggested that to save money, they could give me my cat's urine sample so my regular vet could run the lab tests instead of running them at the emergency hospital. I immediately called Holistika Vet because they were the only veterinarian I had an established relationship with. I was extremely distressed and crying because the emergency vet had told me there was a 50% chance my cat might not survive and that follow-up with my regular vet would be important. The receptionist told me it was their policy that they could not see my second cat because he had never been examined there before. I explained that I understood the policy but asked if they could at least run the urine tests (which I would pay for) to help us understand what caused the blockage. Unfortunately, I was told they could not do that either and that the tests would have to be done at the emergency hospital. The conversation felt very cold and unsympathetic during a moment that was extremely frightening for me as a pet owner. Fast forward to February 2026 -- I scheduled an appointment for both of my cats. A few days before the appointment I received an email canceling it, stating they would no longer see my pets because I had given attitude to the receptionist during the emergency call months earlier. I went in person to speak with management to explain the situation and my perspective. I was told they had no record of the conversation but were still refusing future care. For me, the most disappointing part of this experience was the lack of compassion during a very serious emergency and the refusal to even run a test that could have helped guide my cat's care. Thankfully, I have since found another holistic veterinarian in Glendale, California who has been incredibly supportive.

Good luck otherwise.) Another downside of using this vet is that they will not send your animal's prescriptions to another provider. You need to physically pick up a written prescription to send to the provider.

Then Nikki's care club autorenewed. Ok, fine, the two offices clearly don't share information, so I called VCA Arden and asked to speak to a manager to see what could be done. They weren't available and I was told I would receive a call back. No call. So I call again a couple of days later, same thing. Manager isn't available, but they'll call you back. We go back and forth for TWO WEEKS and they never call back. Eventually AMEX refunds me the money and I cancel care club online. What an abhorrent way to treat a client, especially a grieving client. I will never recommend VCA again, and I will not be bringing any animals back. What a joke.

Dr. Ruiz took the time to explain the entire process, including the pre-anesthetic lab work, the potential risks, and the pre-existing conditions that could complicate anesthesia. He was thorough and reassuring without ever minimizing my concerns. I also deeply appreciated that he did not pressure us into unnecessary testing. He respected our relationship with our dog's cardiologist and allowed us to obtain clearance directly from the specialist instead of insisting on another echocardiogram. Every follow-up visit was face-to-face with Dr. Ruiz. He never rushed us and always made sure our questions were answered. On the day of the procedure, I received a text letting me know my dog was ready, along with clear instructions regarding his medications and aftercare. Dr. Ruiz then personally explained what had been done, how the procedure went, and the discharge instructions, making sure I fully understood everything and had no remaining concerns. At a time when so many veterinary practices are becoming increasingly corporate, it is refreshing to receive this level of personal, thoughtful care from an independently owned hospital. You can feel the difference. Griffith Pet Hospital combines professionalism and excellent communication with genuine compassion--for both pets and the people who love them. Make sure you ask as many questions as possible before you go. While they do accept care credit they will only accept a 6 month payment plan which can sometimes be very costly when dealing with vet bills. It's weird that I was able to book an appointment and then two hours before my appointment be asked to have it moved. Super unprofessional. And the excuse? They take lunch at 1...which you gotta eat, but why make appointments available right before lunch? Not well structured in my opinion. And to add an even more sour feeling about this place -- the gentleman I spoke with on the phone after I had called back to discuss the scheduling issue over my appointment was asking for vet records and was not able to get ahold of my vet. I get records are needed at times to figure out history of the animal, but the way I was being asked was not giving the vibe this office was asking in a way that felt aligned with the issue at hand, which was my dog having urinary issues. I already have vets I work with in a mobile setting, so I didn't need to be pitched extra services, products that I didn't need that were not related to the issue I was coming in for that needed attention in a office. At pickup time they give you paperwork with all care instructions and also go over it all with you in detail. CATC after hours and emergency number info is included. Street parking in front of you can snag a spot, some spots in back in alley if you can find one. I'm sure CATC team could help you if you needed help getting your groggy kid back to your car. Note:: they do Not call you with a pickup time, you just show up 2:30-3:30p unless your kid is a howler like my boy (he's deaf/blind) and is upsetting the other patients. Credit cards and cash only. You can also pay online through their client portal. CATC is a well oiled machine, everyone knows their job and do it well. Seems to be the spot for rescues. When we arrived we were almost immediately brought to a room (where they wrote his name on the door window) and were told that were could take as long as we liked - even before they had me fill out our paperwork. The explained the procedure, took him to install a catheter and brought him back. Again we were told to take as long as we needed. The procedure took less than a minute and I held him the entire time. It was quiet and painless (for him). After they gave me a paw print imprint and hair clippings (which my friend is going to make jewelry out of) I left without paying! I didn't even realize it until a few hours later and when I called to apologize (and pay) they were so understanding and friendly. The only negative thing I can say is that the parking lot is kind of small and this vet seems to be very popular. It's not a vet visit I hope you never need to go through, but if you are in a situation in which you need to, this is the gentlest space with sweetest, kindest staff.

FOREVER TRAUMATIZED BY DR. OHASHI & TEAM…read more I'm here to echo the MANY traumatic experiences from people who were seen by Dr. Ohashi - the primary oncologist at VCA and truly an evil human being. A negative experience that not only negligently left our dog PARALYZED in his final days but also spending unnecessary money on a treatment that would not benefit him. It's truly unbelievable that this horrid woman still maintains a job let alone a client facing role in this hospital. I brought my sweet boy Obi in urgently after an unexpected and gruesome cancer diagnosis that we received only 72 hours prior to our appointment with Ohashi. Naturally we were blindsided, devastated, and confused with a million questions about how this could have happened. I spent 20 solid minutes talking to her assistant Dr. Josie trying to thoroughly explain Obi's medical history over the last 2 years as well as what we had been told by our primary vet (which was that he was perfectly healthy as far as they could tell), and that we were given no signs or indications that he had been sick or in any kind of pain. Dr. Josie appeared understanding and empathetic until she left and return with Ohashi and then she never spoke or looked at us directly in the eye again. It was cruel and unusual. I then tried to reexplain everything to Ohashi but her English was so terrible it was like talking to an AI Chatbot and she never fully acknowledged or responded to a single thing I said to her in the 2 days we spent with her. Instead she spoke to us as if we had left our dog to suffer in pain for years on end and repeated statements such as "how long are you going to continue to make him suffer like this" as my husband and I sobbed begging her to listen to us and understand. In addition to this, we clearly stated to Ohashi that Obi was having trouble walking on his hind legs. He had been taken for X-rays and when Ohashi came to speak with us she told us he was having trouble walking on his front legs. Again, we tried to explain that this was incorrect and we had not experienced this with him and she flat out told us we were wrong. AGAIN she was incapable of listening and understanding. Shortly after, they brought Obi back to us and he could barely walk on his front legs. We had never seen this before and it was clear he had been severely injured during the X-rays. This was the last day Obi ever walked again. That night he became paralyzed. We 100% attribute this to how he was handled during the x-rays. After he became paralyzed, Ohashi told us to come back and give him an infusion of medication that would help him walk again. This treatment cost $1200 and it wasn't until after he was given the treatment that we were told by Ohashi that it wouldn't work on him if the issue was neurological (versus due to his cancer). The second she told us this we (even as non-veterinarians) could immediately see that he was knuckling over his paws when he tried to walk meaning that issue was always neurological and zero assessments or acknowledgements were done to help determine this before gouging us for unnecessary treatments. Ohashi was unfeeling, uncaring, and negligent. She was did not listen or understand anything we tried to explain to her nor did she offer us any kind of support or resources. Without support from better doctors we would have rushed our goodbye with our sweet boy sooner than we needed too. Ohashi is incapable of kindness and understanding and should not be allowed to practice medicine. In Obi's final days, he suffered unnecessarily. We all did.

Wait time is minimal since they actually take you at your appointment time.
