Now that I have lived in the area long enough to have relied on them multiple times, I want to say that the whole team has taken such good care of me and my kitty. They never do any unnecessary procedures that would cost more, especially without checking with me first and having the patience to listen to my concerns. They are fast, helpful and make a stressful situation so much easier, every time. I have full trust in them so much now that I no longer worry in any pet emergency. The staff and doctors are terrific. They are responsive and timely. They have a great setup. You can tell they have taken pains to improve service. I really liked everything about this place ... except the price. The visit price was really fair, and I knew that going in because I checked their website. But the price they gave for removing an admittedly large skin tag from a dog was absolutely obscene (just shy of $2,000). When the assistant walked in with the iPad and handed it to me with the estimate, I literally laughed in her face (rude, but unintentional! And I did apologize.). Without exaggeration, it would be cheaper for me to have a similar procedure on myself at a dermatologist. Like about 75% cheaper. Overall, I really think this place is great for everything except the costs; I know people love their pets -- but it feels a lot like vets (not just this one) have decided to weaponize that love for profits. read more

Dr. Widdop is amazing! Actually, he and his whole team are wonderful. My dog was having severe reverse sneezing/respiratory issues and turns out her mouth/teeth/gums were infected and she was ingesting that bacteria on a daily basis. She is 14 years old and a chihuahua mix who are known for having bad teeth at her age. She had to have 17 teeth extracted and has only gone under anesthesia once when she was a puppy and got spayed. I was terrified to say the least. I visited SO many specialists, vets and pet hospitals and all were price gauging and clearly did not care about my baby girl, Ellie, but only wanted to do the procedure for the money. Not Crescenta-Canada pet hospital. They were the most reasonable and honestly, the best team that made me feel comfortable going under. They answered all my questions and got her set up for her procedure within days. She is a very high energy dog and very attached to her mama. She did NOT like the cone and certainly was very confused coming off all the medicine and wondering where all her teeth went. It was a tough night for her mama! We reached out to Dr widdop and his team so many times I felt bad bothering them with my million questions, but never did they make me feel like it was bothersome at all. They kept responding quickly during business hours by phone and text. When a week had past and my baby was still a bit uncomfortable Dr. widdop agreed to check her out just to put my mind at ease. Everything was healing as it should and he said give it the full 2 weeks- 14 days and she'll be herself again. Well here I am at 14 days on the dot saying, she's totally acting herself again. First day no cone and no pawing - maybe one or two soft touches to her mouth but nothing aggressive. I am SO relieved and I am forever coming back as long as Dr Widdop is practicing. Thank you and your team for taking care of my Ellie girl and keeping this worrisome mamas mind at ease. Oh and 14 days post procedure - NO reverse sneezing or respiratory problems so far! I wanted to update my review to specifically review Dr. Soto-Briski's care. She is absolutely amazing and has helped treat my cat's severe GI issues which has been ongoing since last December. She's very timely with relaying results and has been nothing short of amazing. The front staff and techs have also been amazing throughout this process and ensuring I get refills for medication as needed. I will always request her in any upcoming appointments for my cats (she is their primary doctor to begin with) and she is a God-send. With that being said, I wanted to also include that if you have any cats, stay as far away from Galvan as possible. She was absolutely awful when I took my same cat in for the same exact issue but it was far more severe at the time. She had no regard for my cat's well-being, was incredibly condescending during our visit and took DAYS to relay test results to me which should have otherwise been 1-2 business days all while my cat was having the worst episode of GI issues in his life. She was also providing a lot of misinformation that was incredibly unhelpful in my situation- I started suspecting she might not have any solid experience with cats after this visit. I only went with her because my cat was in severe discomfort that day and I had to get him in the same day - which ended up being a complete waste of time and money anyway. She offered no meds to comfort him and the probiotic that was given made the issue a thousand times worse - she was careless and neglectful. I spent the next few months sticking it through and trying to put him on a bland diet, other over the counter probiotics, I researched day and night to see what I could try responsibly. It improved as much as possible but kept flaring up every few days so I had to try the vet again and see if there were any other options after months of research. Thankfully I did, Dr. Soto-Briski saved the day! I'll keep my review at 5 stars solely for Dr. Soto-Briski because she is an angel and deserves all the hype. Thank you!! read more

But my review is specifically for Dr. Widdop. My 1 year old cat was almost gone. This started on April 5th and before I found Dr. Widdop I saw different veterinarians, they were helpless and wanted to put my little Angel down. Thank GOD I didn't gave up on her. One of my great friends recommended me Dr. Widdop and right away we called and next day the doctor was able to see her and right away he understood that she has this creasy FIP virus, which is a corona virus for cats. As soon as he found out what it is he prescribed a special medication and we saw the results immediately. It's been 3 moths already and Angel is doing great now. 20 years of bringing our babies here and I'm done. Perhaps kennel cough is not an emergency to you, but when my 12 pound senior terrier is having 25 gut wrenching coughs in a row and she's in agony, to me that's an emergency. She had 20 bouts of uncontrollable gut, wrenching, coughing, and she's in pain. Telling us to wait 24 hours for an appointment is not cool. We offered to send you a video. Prescribe some sort of cough suppressant or give us some sort of solution or squeeze her in. Watching her do this for another 24 hours is not okay. I started taking my dog here when I lived in Glendale, but I moved to Long Beach back in 2022....Yes the drive sucks, but I knew I could never take my dog anywhere else. The care she has always received here is unmatched. She's 13 now and as the intensity of my helicopter parenting increases, so does the frequency in vet visits The coordinators at CCPET always work with my schedule/commute and are always super accommodating with all of my requests Their vet care is top of the line. Dr. Widdop has been the most incredible person and doctor I could have asked for. He answers every question I have and performs every test I request. He's also operated on my dog at least 4 times throughout her life removing cancerous and benign tumors/growths successfully. Rebuttal to my review. The point to any establishment of care is a vet to make a decision to say yes or no to services of a pet. It should not be records prior to being seen rather getting records to the vet to discuss the care. What if the previous vet did not adequately treat? As stated before, labs are necessary and whatever imaging and there was NO REQUEST FOR SAME DAY. Pets have seizures just as humans. Any tests can be ordered by a vet during an examination? Is that not correct? The expectation was to have that done yet I WAS TOLD TO GET SERVICES ELSEWHERE because it wasn't easy enough for your veterinarians? BUYER BEWARE!! If I could give ZERO stars, I WOULD! The manager of this establishment asked for a new patient form for my pet. When I informed the staff manager that I am at work and could not print, rudely responded that I needed to provide ALL vets my dog has been seen for her medical condition to include labs, medications, etc. The point of my visits is to establish care and to do labs, have the vet examine my dog and give the history. I do have the medication. If there are other things that are recommended, then that is a discussion. I am on the verge of tears. The only vet I have ever sent my dog to has no record of her ever getting vaccinated. I took all the necessary paperwork in for her after adoption visit 2/21. We missed her rabies booster because it was not recorded in her file. I get notifications for other shots in email. But they have no record of any vaccines. I only found out at the groomer. The staff is terrible, no customer service skills at all. Argumentative and scolding. I never see the same vet twice in a row. When I first took her there, they tried to talk me into $6,000. Surgery for her heart disease; they suggested a cardiac monitor for her irregular heart beat, but could not be bothered to record basic vaccination details. They just hung up on me for pointing out that I didn't understand this oversight concerning such a basic service; I was upset and polite. I bring my dog in every six months and spend almost $100. on prescription meds every month. Parking is terrible there as well. Don't go there, and if you do, check your vet's records. read more

I want to start by mentioning that I have been here a few times, and I always wait until I've had enough experience with a business before I hop on and put any sort of reviews. Normally I would have waited a little longer but today was so ridiculously unacceptable that there is going to be no more visits here. Not unless they wrong their right. In short, my dog had ingested poison, and thank God we caught it quick enough to take him in to the vet before it killed him. My dog Max has been seeing another vet for years before I even knew about Crescenta Canada Pet Hospital. My girl, whom I adopted two years ago, has been coming to CCPH since the beginning. So when my Dog Max was poisoned I took him to the vet that he's always been to. They induced vomiting and gave him activated charcoal through a tube to help absorb any poison that might be in his system. After coming home I contacted ASPCA poison control and spoke with a care representative who advised me that their doctors recommended that I take Max in for a second dose of activated charcoal. His usual vet was closed by then so I called my girl's vet and they said that they could take him in. I took Max in to CCPH and they gave him a second dose, watched him for a bit, then I picked up him up, paid the bill and was instructed that a follow up visit was needed to check his electrolytes after all of the treatment he received. I was asked if I would like to do it here or to take him back to his other vet. I very specifically asked the front desk attendant how much that would cost and she looked it up and told me that his visit would be somewhere around $56 dollars. Since they were the last to see him and they were closer I just decided to bring him back to CCPH for the bloodwork. I made the appointment for two days later (today) and went on my way. I took Max in, they came out and took him in. Not three minutes later does Dr. Speas come out to speak to me in the lobby and give me an update on Max. He told me that Max looked well and asked if he'd been eating over the past week. I reminded him that it's only been one day since they'd last seen him and he didn't seem to know that this had happened two days ago. I told him his appetite was great and he's behaving like normal. He said great, they'll bring him right out. I asked when we would get his bloodwork results and he told me that he doesn't need to be tested. If something was wrong and they suspected that he wasn't well then they would test him. I told him that the reason we came back was for the bloodwork to check electrolytes. He insisted that Max did not need it. Fine. No bloodwork. They brought Max out and I said thank you and was about to walk out when I was told that the front desk needs to check me out. Not sure why, but ok. I walked over to the desk and was told that the visit was going to be $56. The front desk girl was under the impression that they did the bloodwork. I insisted that they didn't, she went to the back, came back and said no they didn't do it, but it would be $56.50 for the "Progress Examination." I told her I wouldn't have even brought him back if they weren't going to do the exam. I made the appointment specifically for bloodwork. She insisted that the doctor didn't feel the need to do one, but that I still owed them the money for the time spent with my dog. She said "he checked to make sure the abdomen was soft." I have no idea what I exactly said after that because I hit the roof pretty quick. She said that the manager wasn't in and that she could charge my card and would "leave a note." Right, because I'm stupid to expect any sort of refund after I've paid. I paid them their penny pinching money and was given a condescending, "Have a wonderful day!" as I was leaving. It was clear that they didn't see anything wrong with their 3 minute "examination" that cost me $56. It took me longer to park my car and get my dog in there than the entirety of the appointment. I got swindled. It isn't even about the money, it's the disgusting treatment toward a dog owner that was desperate to make sure her dog was going to be okay. Shame on you CCPH. I'm really upset. I really liked your nurses and I really liked Dr. Soto too (only reason this wasn't a 1 star review). But you took advantage of me, and that's not ok. read more

You guys. You killed my cat. My 8year old baby. I called you every day for a week BEGGING for appetite stimulant for my sick cat. His doctor was on vacation. Instead of someone else returning my call, or filling the prescription, you left my 3 messages sitting at a desk waiting for him. He had been sick, and I had taken him to you twice. You gave him one shot of the same antibiotic that did not help TWICE. My cat collapsed off of my bed after not eating for a week. I did everything I could think of to make him eat. I even got emergency cat calories and force fed him. I tried other vets to see if I could get help from ANYONE. I called you AGAIN, and you told me you couldn't help me. I took him to an ER, they finally gave me the medicine he needed. He finally ate. They sent me to a specialist. By the time I got my kitty to a specialist, she informed me his kidney had taken such a huge hit from not eating, he lived two more weeks then his organs gave out and I watched as my once healthy and vibrant kitty lost his ability to walk, lost hair, and finally was so weak there was nothing else I could do to save him and I had to put him to sleep. YOU IGNORED ME FOR A WEEK. I have RECORDS. here's a copy of the text I sent you the morning he was dying in my arms- YOU NEVER RESPONDED. OH- and the specialist was IN SHOCK at what you had prescribed my cat for his inflammatory bowel. YOU HAD HIM ON 4 TIMES THE MEDICATION HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON. -a full tablet of cerenia (A DOG MEDICATION) a day ****should have been a quarter of a pill every other day -1 ml of b12 once a week ****should have been .25ml once a week She was IN SHOCK that you operated on him to diagnose inflammatory bowel. I poured money into your pockets and received nothing. You had me paying $6 a pill that he should have been taking a fourth of, with a $25 dispensing fee and would only release 8 pills at a time. I had to BEG for you to release more medicine at once. My family has taken our animals to you for 30 years and it ends with me. I have watched your service go from reliable to absolutely diabolical. When I got my cat to a specialist, the price was THE SAME, and she emailed me almost every day to check on him. She returned my calls day of. She showed me that it is POSSIBLE to get a vet who cares. The word I would use to describe your service is negligent. You are negligent. And you are directly responsible for neglecting my cats health. And now he is dead. I'm posting this because I hope you can learn something, and I know that if I sent you an email, it would go unread. Mary at the front- you are lovely and I excuse you from this review. I've been taking my dogs to this vet, and others for years and am not surprised to see a few negative reviews given all the pandemic madness. It was super busy through that period, and curbside care was enough to drive anyone crazy, but they stayed open, and I sure did appreciate that. I was there the other day with my very beloved Lhasa Apso and she was seen by Dr. Baghoyan. It was my first time meeting her in person due to the past pandemic measures, and I like her a lot. She's extremely kind and patient, and clearly cares a lot about her patients. She answered all the questions I had and was understanding when I explained the need to split up an estimate into smaller chunks for a future procedure due to financial concerns. I've lived here a long time and have been to probably every vet practice around, but this one is definitely on my list of favorites. Not only because I live nearby, but because so far, they've always taken good care of my furry loved ones without incident. For emergencies, I generally go to ASG, but Crescenta Canada was there for me one morning when one of my dogs had choked on food and was unconscious, and that obviously meant a lot to me. Words can't even begin to describe how grateful I am for the team here. I woke up and my dog was peeing a lot of blood, I called and they were able to fit her in that same day. They took such good care of her and explained everything along the way. I happened to lose my wallet the day before so I wasn't able to pay, they sent me a link so I could pay as soon as I got my cards back! They also sent messages after the appointment to check up on my pup. What brought me here was my neighbor. She had to bring her dog in because she wasn't eating and was in pain. Turns out she had end stage kidney failure and they had to put her to sleep. The amount of compassion we felt from the staff was amazing. Everyone was so sweet and caring. They gave my neighbor all the time she needed with her pup. They also let me take care of the paperwork and financial stuff so she wouldn't have to worry about it while grieving her pup. I highly recommend them! I'm definitely bringing all my animals here from now on. read more
