I know the world is very dog and cat centric, but there wasn't a lot of help out there for my aging rabbit when we finally needed it. That's when I found Dr. Quan. My bunny lived to be 14 years old! I think in part to the exceptional care of the this office. He was treated for degenerative arthritis, had just the right balance of meds to make him comfortable, plus the right living environment knowledge to help his condition. Thank you for helping this lucky rabbit age gracefully. He passed away in my arms peacefully recently and I just wanted to shout out how awesome Glendale Small Animal Hospital is. I've owned 4 guinea pigs (all but one adopted from LAGPR) and want to share my experience regarding vets in the area. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Quan at Glendale Small Animal Hospital. She is so kind, extremely knowledgeable, gentle, and caring. She has a lot of experience with guinea pigs and even has her own. She has spent extra time explaining everything to me and I've genuinely never met a vet (even for my family dogs) that has the compassion and patience of Dr. Quan. She also will be realistic with you and not try to oversell any exams. By choice, I will ALWAYS bring my piggies to her. She truly cares about her patients' wellbeing, and is very understanding of how difficult it is for pet parents bringing their babies to her. Their office is also very responsive, professional, and friendly, and will answer calls instantly and have the doctor call back to answer any questions same day. If you are comparing vets, please do NOT take your pets to West Valley Pet Clinic. My experiences there were the exact opposite of my experience at this vet, and my late pets were severely traumatized by their experience there.

Dr. Vikas Jaglan saw her immediately, diagnosed a corneal tear, and began treatment right away; he genuinely saved her vision. On March 30th, Peanut was diagnosed with pancreatitis and admitted overnight for IV fluids, pancreatic medication, and IV abx. Dr. Jaglan was thorough, communicative, and kind. As a registered nurse, I asked informed questions about whether imaging was necessary and whether procedures like gallbladder removal, tumor resection, or ERCP-equivalent interventions are performed in veterinary medicine, since my background is in human care. I was not challenging the plan; I was trying to understand viable treatment pathways before committing to imaging costs. Vet Tech Jenn verbally claimed that "duct stones are not a thing"; and I had explained to her that the liver, gallbladder and pancreas are all connected by tiny ducts, which can be blocked by stones. Jenn kept saying that it would only be a tumor and had no idea what I was taking about. Vet tech Jenn was dismissive, offering no real answers and stating "the doctor is going to be short with you too." When I asked about financial assistance, I was flatly told "we don't do discounts" with no further effort to help. Her attitude directly contributed to my hesitation in proceeding with imaging Dr. Jaglan had recommended. After discharge, Peanut was flinching and squealing when we touched her jaw, something not present before her stay (leaving us with serious concerns about her overnight handling with Jenn.) After discharge Peanut improved briefly at home, but on April 4th she deteriorated rapidly (jaundiced, lethargic, and passing tarry stools, which I recognized as internal bleeding). We returned to the UC immediately. Vet tech Carlos was exceptional, very compassionate, thorough, and patient. He walked us through every detail of her care and proactively worked with us to find financial assistance, which meant the world during an unbearable time. Peanut was admitted in critical condition with severely elevated WBC, liver enzymes, pancreatic enzymes, and bilirubin. Dr. Arvind Bagga reviewed her labs with us, and even displayed imaged of internal organs of a dog on the screen to explain what was happening with Peanut, making it easy to follow and understand for my husband who is not in the medical field. He was exceptionally informative, kind and compassionate. On April 5th, Dr. Vikas Jaglan delivered the imaging results with us and we were told Peanut's only options were emergency surgery (with a very poor prognosis given sepsis and critically elevated clotting factors) or euthanasia. My husband and I made the most devastating decision of our lives that day. I carry immense grief wondering whether timelier imaging could have changed the outcome. While the final decision was my husbands and mine, I believe Jenn's dismissive and unhelpful communication (both medically and financially) played a significant role in that delay. Two weeks later, we returned for Peanut's ashes, presented in a beautiful bag with her paw print (a gesture that brought us to tears.) Dr. Jaglan, Dr. Bagga, and Carlos represent everything veterinary care should be. I am forever grateful for their care, and forever heartbroken by this loss. This experience was deeply traumatic, and I would not wish this pain on anyone.

For the second time, I made an appointment weeks in advance, for a regular check up. The wait times are long. Longer than what I'm used to for appointments. I get that there could be emergency situations, but they don't seem to prioritize appointments vs walk ins. (Other than there is a price difference.) I'm trying to schedule appointments around my work schedule and I'm not sure it's sustainable with the long wait times. As I type this, I'm waiting in the lobby to be seen and might have to leave because I need to get to work. I'm sure the care received is fine. Just wanted to share in case you are also looking for an option that works with your busy schedule.

Think of the worst front desk you've ever experienced - and this will be even worst…read more The ladies at the front maybe be the absolute rudest, impolite, disrespectful, and unjustifiably entitled front desk I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. They don't even acknowledge you when you walk in and expect you to announce your presence. Half the time they are just staring at their phones and if you ask a question, they look at you like "how dare you bother my social media time!?!?" No "have a nice days" "no thank yous", they all have RBF. Honestly I have no idea why anyone comes here because the doctors are also constantly changing and it's like a revolving door of medical "professionals". Probably because they can't stand to be associated with the front desk staff.

I have a new small puppy dog that needed to be spayed and also needed a vet. I took her to Dr. Choi…read morebecause it was a private office rather than a huge dog clinic. First off, the office looks old ( old equiptment ) and dirty. In the initial consultation, I was quoted a fee for the spaying and although it was not a competitive price quote, I opted to proceed with an appointment for my dog. When I finally take my dog to the scheduled appointment Dr. Choi told me the surgery would be an additional $50 because my dog was very small. I was a bit bothered by this new revelation since he had previously met my dog and knew her size. I was bothered because he quoted one price in the initial  consultation only to stiff me with an additional $50 on the day of the surgery.  I didnt think it was professional, but opted not to say anything and proceed with the surgery for my dog. Second scam: a few months ago I needed to fly to Florida to visit my folks and the airlines needed  a form filled out. The form needed the doctors address, name, and veterinary license lic number.   $25 to complete the form ( which took 1 minute to complete) $68 to examine my dog ( 1 minute total exam ) $80 for  flea/mosquito  medication because Dr. Choi insisted that since I was going to Florida and there were mosquitos, my dog could get really sick if bitten by one. Unfortunately, they did not have the medication at hand and they would order it. I agreed since I am a new pet owner I just figured this was standard practice.  Total price $173 I couple weeks later I opted to cancel my flight and not go to Florida, I called Dr. Choi's office and told them I would not pick up the mosquito  med after-all since I was not going to Florida and wanted a refund. Dr. Choi personally came to the phone to tell me that they did not give out refunds, rather they would only credit my account. I though this to be very shady business practices, however, I was not in the mood to get into an argument with him and opted to deal with this issue some other time. A few days ago, I decided to go to Florida for a week and decided I should pick up the medication that Dr. Choi had initially recommended ( and that I had already paid for )TO MY SHOCK his receptionist told me and I quote " the medication was $80 however, the price went up $5 since the last time you were here"  I explained to her, that the meds were already paid for ,months ago, she put me on hold only to come back on the phone after speaking to Dr. Choi to tell me, that I must pay the additional $5 if I wanted the meds. THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW! I decided that I was never returning to an office where its all about the MONEY for this doctor.  I do not want anything for free, but I don't want to be scammed by a doctor either.  I drove to the office, SPOKE with Dr. Choi and very matter of fact told him I wanted a refund. He appeared VISIBLY ANGRY, however, gave me back my money ( $80 credit I had with them ). MY DOG and I DESERVE BETTER. and I will never return to see him again. I do not recommend Dr. Cho as vet and I hope I never see the likes of him again.

But I get there and the technician asked me to pick up my dog, and I say I can't because I'm handicap and I have a bad back. The girl says that she has a bad back too that she cannot lift him. I said OK then have the Dr do it for you. This was to put him on the exam table. Technician was sniffling, awful sniffling, so awful, and I am handicap and have a very, very bad immune system, and I was afraid of getting sick. I asked the technician if she had a cold, and she said that she did not have a cold. She ended up picking up my dog. I go in the bathroom, and there's no soap. So I come out and I said to the girl, and by the way there's nobody else in this office that you're out of soap. This was disheartening because you're at a veterinarians office where especially when the person working there has a cold that there's no soap in the bathroom and this is the only restroom that everyone is using. So let me say the technician goes into bathroom and screams out loud. Oh my goodness, paper towels, everywhere what a mess. As if I was the one that did it. So I didn't say anything and then when I go to get checked out, I'm almost charged over $900. OK so this was a mistake that Vet caught it said oh this is somebody else and then the girl says oh it's 200 and something and I'm like huh and then she goes. Oh no it's 386. I'm like OK and then I asked what the expiration date of the dog food is, and she says oh we just got it in. I asked because the last few times I've picked up the prescription dog food. It was due to expire within a month or two. She refused to get me the date and then finally with me asking the third time she goes and gets me the date. Then I said I need the dog food brought to my car, please. The veterinary knows that I'm handicap, because he has helped me to my car several times with the dog food and has been very kind. This review is not about the treatment that I received, although yesterday two vaccines were given to my dog that I was not aware of, and was charged for something that I didn't know that was going to be given. When was the coronavirus vaccine and the other was a deworming. This wasn't too much of a big deal, because it was only like $35 extra, but I had asked the veterinarian what shots was he going to be given and this was not included in what I was told. Anyway, I asked that I needed help out to my car for the dog food, and when I went in the back to my vehicle, the dog food was literally placed on the floor in 100° heat, I went back to the vet and I was the technician because she had been rude to me so far. I came back in and I said your technician has been very rude to me and the veterinarian had to get in the middle between her and I because the girl screamed don't be lying in front of my boss, and she got very aggressive as if she was going to attack me. I called this morning and I was given the third degree by the office manager of whom I think her name is Daniella. She brought me to awful tears, to the point that I drove over there and ended up talking to the veterinarian myself. Daniel ended up saying to me because I told her everything that was going on and for every thing I said she put it back on me. I said well if she was sick she should've been wearing a mask-answer masks are not mandated. However, if someone is sick and they're working in a very small veterinarian office and they're getting about one to 2 feet from you you would think that they should be wearing a mask to protect the patients and the doctor himself. Daniela over the phone said to me I have your phone number. I know what you want. She said that to me several times as if it was a threat I said what do you mean like what do you mean she said you want an apology? I said no I wanna talk to the doctor. She kept refusing to get the doctor for me and I kept saying just have him call me have him call me and she said just talk to me. It goes through me, anyway I ended up driving over there and talking to the veterinarian and I was in tears and the first thing that I said when I got there was and I pointed to her said that she was on the phone and said to me "I have your number I know what you want." And she said he she's lying she's lying and then over the phone told me That if I wrote a bad yelp review, she would just respond back, because they have cameras. Will turns out that they have cameras, but there is no audio. So there were several threats made. I was not mean at all to the technician yesterday for some reason obviously because she didn't feel well. She was not in a good mood and took it out on me. I'm glad that I talked to the doctor. this situation has caused me severe emotional distress and has increased my pain and has increased my blood pressure to 167/91.

No barking dogs, no overwhelming dog smell, just a calm, quiet environment that immediately put both me and my boy at ease. He's gone to other vets before, and the difference here was incredible. I originally decided to try this clinic because, despite visiting other vets, I never felt fully convinced by the explanations we were getting for his issues. From the moment we arrived, everything was a positive experience. The clinic was easy to find, parking was simple, and the waiting area was spotless, fresh, and welcoming. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they even offered us something to drink! We barely had time to sit before we were invited back to an exam room. Both the vet tech and the veterinarian were amazing with cats, and you could tell they truly understood feline behavior and comfort. The room itself was very quiet and almost soundproof, which helped him stay relaxed throughout the visit. For cats that need extra support, they even offer a kitty care kit you can get in advance to help calm them before appointments, which I'll probably be getting for my other cats too. On top of all that, the visit was very reasonably priced, which I'm incredibly grateful for. It's been four days since our appointment, and he's no longer pulling at his fur or constantly itching, he's doing great! I genuinely feel like these folks made all the difference, and I'll definitely be bringing my other cats here from now on.

This was June of 2025. I had just moved into the area & was looking to find a new veterinarian for…read moremy dog. Unfortunately, we went in sooner than expected for a small emergency. My dog has formed a small lump in between one of his paws & it was leaking puss. I went ahead & called Hillcrest & the receptionist was able to get me an appointment for the next day instead of having me come in as urgent. Once I was with the vet, they looked at his paw & concluded that this might have been caused by a fox tail. I tried to explain that I didn't believe that was the case since I had not walked my dog around the neighborhood yet nor were there any foxtails by my home. They were pretty convinced this was still the case despite me mentioning maybe an ingrown hair or some other cause. The vet didn't really listen to my opinion & instead recommended my dog either be given medication or go under the knife. Personally, recommending surgery was a ridiculous suggestion in my opinion. It felt scummy. I went with medication, bandaging & cleaning his wound. It totaled to about $403. In the end, the bandaging they did on my dog gave him a new wound that required me to take him to a different vet 2 weeks later. Turns out, the initial lump was just a symptom of my dog having allergies! Condensed Version: -Staff: Super friendly & accommodating. -Veterinarian: They could do better in listening to the owner, especially before jumping to surgery. -Location: Parking in the area was terrible. -Price: Expensive, $403, they kept insisting I buy certain things despite me saying I already had something similar. -Overall Impression: I appreciate the staff willing to accommodate us at the last minute.
