Pet smart was not a good place to take an inside dog. U could smell the dirty dog smell when u walk in entrance of pet smart. I went to pick my 4 lb Yorkie up and he wasn't cut completely. He smelled like the nasty dog smell which he was clean when he got there.the cut was shagged and looked like they needed new scissors and he wasn't even clean cut under on belly or behind. The grooming center was soo filthy ! Hair and nasty dirty everything including groomers. When I brought him home I had to bathe him right away because he smelled like the stinch in their shop! Not to mention overpriced !!$$$ I met a lady in parking lot and she said she would never use them.I agree. read more

Now, All in the sudden, they will not accept a HAND FILLED Rabies certificate with the collar tag as proof of Vaccination! Their CORPORATE POLICY states that it must be a PRINTED FORM! They accespted it in the past, insulted me by thinking I would be the type of person that would fake documents to get 3 dogs groomed, and just lost my business FOREVER!! I am a die hard PetSmart customer. Over the last 15 years I've stayed loyal across 3 states, as well as set up online delivery of my dog & cat food. That THIS store is understaffed is a gross understatement. I've been standing here for 15 minutes now. I need 3 fish. The 2 customer service reps I located informed me they were helping other customers and "it would be a while." It's Saturday. A flood of customers is to be expected on the weekend. I'm not a fan of Petco, but after standing here watching employees come & go out of the mystery employee door 10 feet away from me, shoot me a glance and saunter off in the other direction, I will shop ANY other pet store before coming back here. read more

Dont take your dogs to the Petsmart grooming salon in Tyler!!!!! I have used Petsmart grooming since my first fur baby in 2004. Never had any problems anywhere in the nation that I have traveled until I moved to Tyler last year. The first episode was with my Chocolate Lab (Buddy), they stated he got too excited and they could not complete services on him. And now today, I took Toby who has been twice to this grooming salon with no problems, just to receive a phone call stating they couldn't complete services on him based on the same reasons they had given me for Buddy back in June. When I got there to pick up Toby, no explanation or even a salutation was given when I came in. They just handed me Toby and left. There has to be problems going on in this salon, not only with the treatment of our dogs but the overall attitude of the staff in this facility. I can't even rate them 1 star...sad! But good things do come out of bad experiences...we took Toby to Bed Bath and Bonz, who had no problem whatsoever with any of my animals and will receive my business from this day forward. Grooming salon review only: Walked in there to find an older, hard-of-hearing woman very upset because her dog was not ready even close to on time and it was going to at least another hour before the dog was ready because the clipper wasn't working correctly. When I got to the front of the line they had lost my dog's information on a rabies vaccine which had just been entered into the system three days before. The young lady had an attitude and I told her that just they they had lost a new customer. Because, honestly if I cannot trust people's input information into the system while I'm having my dog's nails trimmed there and I've already paid for the service then I'm concerned that the system has broken down It should be noted that I did call to make a report of problems to the store manager. She said that she would look into it and do her best to rectify the situation with the woman who's dog was overdue to be groomed. I did point out that there needs to be a system in place that if the piece of equipment breaks there's got to be another piece of equipment that fills in immediately. I also pointed out that it is never the customer's problem if something is broken. If something is broken or not working right the worker needs to immediately get in touch with the supervisor or manager and get something in there ASAP to resolve the problem. This is bad business and it makes Petsmart look bad. read more

I don't think you could ask for a better store. First, my son has completed the Beginning and Intermediate dog training classes with his German Shepherd and is now starting the Advanced class. She was quite a wild dog when he first got her, but now has changed completely. Judy, her trainer, has worked miracles. She is so patient and kind and takes a personal interest in each and every dog. I highly recommend this program. Second, My wife is a 65 year diabetic. One day in this PetSmart store, she collapsed on the floor from a low blood sugar level. The store manager brought us some orange juice, and when it didn't look like it was going to help, he immediately called for an ambulance. The manager (and Judy) stayed right with us until help arrived. They care for their customers like family! Third, I have read some of the negative reviews listed here and can assure you that the manager and employees take great pride in this store and do everything they can to make sure their customers are cared for and treated well. If something is wrong, they will fix it. We are always greeted, asked if we need any help, and the store is always clean and well stocked. Sometimes it is VERY business (there is a good reason for that) and when it is, you may just have to have a little more patience! read more

AVOID the groomer NINA! We've taken our dog to Petsmart grooming salon for a few months before she was groomed by NINA in April '22, and we will not go back again! We have always heard what a wonderful client our pup is with other groomers, but Nina was different. She complained she had trouble with our dog and she had to enlist the assistance of another groomer because our pup kept whimpering and snapping at her. I told her "You were hurting her!" Nina denied she was hurting her. I assured her that was our dog's behavior when she is in pain, and Nina actually started arguing with me! Really?!?! I am furious with her insensitivity, incompetence and arrogance to actually argue with me about my dogs behavior. Our pooch has been traumatized by Nina and even now, at the end of July, she shakes with fear and panics when we bathe her, use the blow dryer, or clip her nails. I am disgusted and will not be returning to this salon. read more

I've been taking my miniature poodle, Spot, to Snobby Dog Spa for the past two years. It was okay but eventually they began shaving Spot, without my permission, if he was even slightly matted. Fortunately, I was in Pet Smart one day in January right after Spot had been shaved. I ran into a cool groomer there named Jennifer who happened to be in the same aisle where I was looking at dog collars. I chatted with Jennifer about Spot and when his hair finally grew out I took him this week on March 28, 2019 for Jennifer to groom. She did a fantastic job! He has never looked better! I was extremely pleased and since I'm retired and on a fixed income Jennifer educated me about two discounts that are available by pre-booking Spot on a Tuesday and a senior discount. Spot and I are so happy that we found Jennifer at Pet Smart. While this is only our first visit we feel comfortable in recommending that you give Jennifer a try-out. read more

Writing 1 star review because it deserves just that.. first off.. They call me within the first 15 minutes to come get my dog because they can't do their job. Reminder: Just a bath! They then said "we'll try again." And then called within 7 minutes stating they were done.. WOW that was fast.. went from not being able to do your job to becoming a master under 7 minutes.. they took off the extra $20 they were initially going to charge me. My dogs still didn't have his nails cut and only one ear was clean.. HOW!??? DO NOT GO HERE.. a complete waist of money and time. They need to work on a better staff. read more

I love Tyler's Petsmart!! The store staff has always been super friendly & helpful, as well as carry (almost) everything I can find in the Dallas stores. I've taken my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to the grooming dept twice, for her "mani-pedi's". The ladies are always extremely sweet and are gentle with my baby. We never have to make an appt, they're always happy to help when we walk in. They do a great job clipping her nails, as well as shaving in between her pads. This is always so nerve-wracking for me, as this breed of dog should never have their hair cut, especially on their "slippers" (powder puff paws.) Lol. We just adopted our 2nd Cavalier, who is a lot older than our baby girl, and he has super thick, curly, and long hair... We will def be taking him here to get the full grooming experience. I haven't given them the full 5 stars yet, as I'm waiting to see how the full grooming goes. I'm sure it will be exceptional as well. :)) read more

So my friend bought a cat on their 4th of July sale. Why is a cat on sale? I don't know. But when they sold her the cat they said it had allergies and sold her the cat even though it was sick. They scheduled a check up appointment for the cats well being. Well the doctor told her to give her cat an IV everyday 4 times a day. Her cat wasn't doing any better so she decided to take him to the vet herself. They ran a few tests for leukemia and the veterinarian diagnosed him with a respiratory virus and FIV. My friends cat has never come in contact with any other cats since being in the kennel at PetSmart. This isn't the first time we've experienced sick animals from this store either. Why would they sell a cat to someone knowing it was sick? This is very disappointing. read more

I was buying a clown pleco, and I received help from someone working. She seemed really nice, and I believe she was. As she was getting the clown pleco out she had him scraped up against the side, I obviously noticed but chose not to say anything. When I got home I noticed that he was injured on his right fin. The people working should have better knowledge of how to remove any species of fish from a tank. I'm not very satisfied with the outcome of my visit to Petsmart. :( read more

Signed up for the puppy training classes. First, was supposed to start on May 27, 2019, which was Memorial Day. Called that morning, no class. So showed up today at 2:30 and no one there. We waited in the training area and no one showed. Asked an employee and she said someone would be right there. Waited 20 minutes, asked again, said, "I will help you in a minute." Waited. Read the facilitator guide while waiting. Realized, most of training focused on crate training and potty training. I have outside dogs. Not applicable. And not happy that no one ever showed. The employees at this location are exceptional! They honor my discounts and coupons even if they are a day or so expired. They are so helpful when I have my large dogs with me and need assistance carrying dog food to my car. Since my golden retriever got groomed there and had mats and mud left on him I have been contacted by 3 separate corporate employees. The first said that the store manager would be calling me within 48 hours, that didn't happen so I told them. The second told me they would send me a gift card if I can send them the price or receipt so I called the store and gave them my pet perks number and the exact date and total I spent and the rude woman that answered says "do you need it now?" I said "yes" and she said "well how exactly do you plan on getting it if you're not here?" then they told me that receipt had items I didn't even buy that day and there was no record of Mavericks grooming. So I provided corporate with the exact amount I spent and told them what the store said and provided pics with his grooming verification and the email they sent me that said he was ready to be picked up time stamped with the date I had originally told them and the third employee tells me I need to physically go to the store to try and get the receipt again this has been going on nearly two weeks. Between my family and me we down thousands of dollars at petsmart every year and We will not ever step foot in there again because it's clear they are not interested in having satisfied customers or even treating them fairly. read more

A couple of years ago I took my dog to Petsmart to get her nails done. When they brought my dog out when she was ready, she got a bit excited to see another dog. The woman that trimmed her nails was very rude. She stated with an attitude" She DOES NOT like to get her nails done." She then proceeded to pull on her leash really hard choking my dog (enough to cause her coughing and hacking.) I was shocked and just wanted to get her out of there so I didn't say anything right away. The more I thought about it, the more upset I got so I made a call to the manager. He was very apologetic and said he would talk to the employee. I trust that he did do that, but this upset me so much I have never taken Tildy back and have never bought anything from there again. I was happy when PetCo opened at the new mall, and I have been satisfied shopping there. read more

I have been to this location a few times. It is such a terrible experience. I thought it was just me at first, but from reading the other reviews on here, it seems to be a systemic problem. The only two good reviews are from 2014. Every time I go in, it smells like urine and it's so dark and dingy. The employees are all rude. I think there was only one pleasant employee that I encountered. So glad that Petco opened down the street. Before they opened, I would regularly use PetLand, but I can't support their dog business anymore. So sad. read more

This was an awful experience at this store. I had bought a betta and the day I bought it was flipped upside down because of the cashier. He put the fish on counter that people put their purse on then it fell and flipped over. My mom asked if it would be ok and the man immediately said yes. So when I got home I washed the rocks 3 times put conditioner in the water and turned on the filter. Then I set my beautiful betta in the tank and realized it wasn't looking too good, anyways it died a few days later. So I put the betta in a cup and brought it to petSmart to return it. I have never returned a fish so we didn't know that we were supposed to bring water tests. Anyways I my mom brought it to the cashier and asked to return it. The guy asked my mom for the story of how it died, and she told him how it flipped over then once again my mom asked him for a refund and he said he wasn't the guy to do that. Next my mom looked for the fish person. My mom asked her if we could return it. She asked if she could test the water in the betta cup and I said "that's not the water from the tank" she insisted that she test the water as she walked off then I said it's no use that isn't the water it lived in. She was very rude and snippy so she walked away to the back to talk to another employee. The other employee came back and said she'd refund us "this time" but next time we need a water test. We then found out that it was required to have a water test to return the fish. We apologized to the other lady who we were talking to before and she was still a crab. We finally checked out with a new betta, and the cashier was a real ding dong. Anyways I don't recommend this PetSmart. read more
