This place it's bad, the grooming salon gives a bad service to my dog. I'll never take her back with them, the first time I did had a good experience, the second time my dog was really bad when I pick her up, and her haircut was bad, I don't know if it was someone who was learning or what but I would not recommend you to take your dog to this location. read more

I recently had knee replacement surgery & tried ordering cat food on the website without success. I called telling the person who answered what was going on. She passed me on to Jad. He took my order, told me he would call me back when he had my order, which he did, & told me to call when I had pulled up to the store. I did all of that, he personally brought my order out to me. I very much appreciated this wonderful customer service! read more

First time Dog getting groomed and first time pet owner so I didn't know what to expect but I could've done a better job at home. First of all, Toye seemed disinterested from the beginning. That should've been my sign to take my dog home. The Grooming Lead had to explain the process to me despite nudging her to do it. I watched through the window as she rolled her eyes because the puppy wasn't cooperating. My 2nd sign. I was getting irritated but I'm inexperienced so I thought I might've just been overreacting so I left. When I came back Toye was on her phone and again the grooming lead had to tell her to explain to me what happened. The puppy was too scared to get a cut so they charged me $49 for a trim, although she was only able to trim his face. She said she bathed him but he smelled the same and he still had the tear stains that could've been washed away. I don't believe everything I paid for was done and the attitudes suck. I won't go there again. read more

I took my dog to the grooming for the works. I have a pit bull, he is the SWEETEST. He gets daily walks from strangers through dog walking apps and behaves so well for doctor visits so I was not worried for the groom. These employees at the salon are NOT dog people. They were initially scared of him, which made him uncomfortable. which ok he's a pit and there's all this talk about pits being aggressive but they are the SWEETEST. Any pit owner will agree. They do not know how to handle a big dog, and they are untrained. When I picked him up he still smelled filthy, and was dirty. His nails were not clipped and they didn't even address his ear irritation. They said he was unstable and aggressive? That is why they couldn't do anything for him. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. read more

Love the staff. They always paying attention to detail. Even got him in to see Dr. Delvemto for his immunizations and check up. The front staff allowed me to see the doctor because of a cancelled appointment with another dog. Grateful to have came in this morning. They were right on point. read more

PetSmart - JáNelle groomed him. She did a great job following my instructions to the T. Thank you for being so observant and quick. - Pet Training Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

PET OWNERS BEWARE, BRING YOUR PETS FOR GROOMING AT YOUR OWN RISK. TAKE MY ADVICE AND DON'T DO IT!!!! Just took our puppy here for nail care and I was quickly reminded why we do not bring our puppy (she) here. During this specific occasion these events occurred: 1) Dropped off our puppy and was told to go away so she wouldn't be too excited. 2) Went to shop around and pay 3) Upon return was told 2 nails were not finished because our puppy got nicked in the nose and appeared stressed out so they stopped working 4) During the event, I was told the manager and another employee was also present as well...what they did to help the situation I don't know...witness...?! 5) As the groomer was explaining what happened there was no concise response or fair alternative offered after I had paid full price and received an unfinished job IN ADDITION to an injured puppy. Instead, it was my puppy's fault because "she probably isn't feeling well and that's why she's acting out" scapegoat reason...... 6) Amidst this all, the manager was also present but ignored us because he was speaking to someone else...I guess our case was not serious enough... Disclaimer: this is not our first time here but absolutely the worse and unacceptable experience. At another occasion we were greeted with unmotivated and unfriendly groomers. Service was mediocre at that time. NEVER AGAIN ARE WE COMING BACK AGAIN, THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED! read more

Not a bad job. Our dogs never seem antsy when we walk in, so they must be gentle with the dogs. Large windows allow you to watch if you are so inclined, or they will give you a call when your dog is done. read more

Omg these people are horrible! I went to get my dogs nails cut and I heard them yelling at the dogs and pulling their legs and just being so rough! They banged my dogs head on the door and I yelled at them and they just rolled their eyes at me. If you don't love animals then don't work at a pet grooming salon! NEVER EVER AGAIN will I take them to petsmart grooming, at ANY LOCATION! read more

I took our Westi for grooming at Pet Smart and the groomer scalped our door. When they brought him out, I didn't even recognize my dog. The groomer clearly just shaved our poor dog almost down to the bone and left little or no hair on this face and around his eyes. The Manager was very rude and nasty and basically said, "Well there's nothing we can do for you". I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and they get a Zero for customer service!!! read more

This review is for grooming. It's the nature of the salon- but even with a really nice groomer, it feels very pressured, rushed , busy, not to mention loud. It's just not a great environment for my dog who is a little nervous. I also didn't love having to leave her for 4+ hours. The groomers kind of gave up on her feet and legs and left a lot to be desired. read more

I would skip this place. The grooming manager was condescending about the package I purchased. I had a puppy package and I had to show them what it included. I too was told to go away so the puppy didn't get excited. The point in taking our dog to a place with windows is to watch, especially for the first visit. I watched anyways because I didn't have a good feeling. Our dog fell off the table and was hanging because one of the techs went to help with another dog. There are better places and people to take our dog too. I did get a recommendation for another Petsmart, so I will check that out and post after. read more

We had won a fish at the fair out in Frederick County a few weeks ago and had been keeping him in one of those small uncirculating tanks since. I felt bad since I was sort of torturing him every two days to change the water in the tank. So we went to Petsmart to pick up a bigger tank for Spike (our fish). One of the employees was able to recommend a decent 5 gallon tank in our price range as well as made some recommendations to help us maintain a happy little fish haven for Spike. all in all a good experience. read more

It's pretty hard to find the Miniature Schnauzer 25 food from Royal Canin, but they always have it here!! Really helpful staff.

Friendly and helpful staff are very available but the best is the sales and the products and the variety. Check out could be a little bit faster but what store doesn't need to be faster with checkout? Lol read more

Worst experience they only know how to deal with dogs whom are perfectly behaved apparently and not with welcoming new comers. Came to drop off my dog tyson and they called me back within about 10 mins to come pick him up. Said he didn't want to get in the crate/wasn't listening. Upon arrival he was in the crate, so he must of gotten in there somehow. I also explained this was his first time ever being groomed and left treats (the treats looked untouched). I doubt any of these groomers have any real experience with animals other than the ones they may have at home. Save yourself and your dog the stress and go somewhere else. read more

I don't recommend taking your dog here for grooming. I was standing in line to buy cat litter and through the window into the grooming area I saw a groomer handling a very agitated small black dog. The dog had a plastic cone on his head and had a very tight lease with no wiggle room around his head to a metal bar above him. The dog was struggling and thrashing from side to side, and looked like he might be choking himself on the leash. The groomer was handling him roughly. picking up his back legs and putting them back down, taking no care with him, and making no attempt to calm him down. I watched this happen and other people in line were also concerned by it. After I paid I asked to talk to the manager. By that time the dog was no longer thrashing. He was still tightly tied, I mean really tightly with no room to move his head. He was shaking, probably in fear or from being upset. The groomer was continuing, moving the dog's body around roughly and laughing with her coworkers, paying the dog no mind. I told the manager what I had seen and he said, 'We have to do that sometimes. I'll tell the groomers, but the groomers are professionals. We don't hurt the animals.' I don't know about you, but that answer wasn't good enough for me. What I saw was wrong. They shouldn't be tying dogs up with no room to move their heads--there should be at a least a little slack to give the dogs some breathing room. The way the groomer was handling the dog was rough and disturbing to see. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my dog in for his Banfield appointment (which I am not negatively reviewing the Banfield). Upon entering, I see a piece of feces on the mat, I ask my husband if that was our dog, who he was watching, and he said no. Thinking nothing of it, we continued to the Banfield. A cashier, or more apparently someone in a supposed leadership position, then came up to us and began to yell about $500 fine for leaving feces. I defended myself and mty dog, calmly, only to be further yelled at and condemned. I told him that if it had been our dog and we didn't realize it, then we were sorry but it was no reason for him to yell at us (my hubby and I carry around doggy bags religiously, we have no issue cleaning up after his messes.) He didn't apologize and simply walked off in a huff of stupor. I'm calling the corporate office as soon as they open. I'm not a complainer, but when I'm so grossly mistreated by a stranger who is in a customer service position, I'll raise cane. And it's not like my dog is a big dog - he's a freaking dachshund, ffs. Generically, this place carries most of the stuff you'll find at any other PetSmart, but compared to the customer service I have experienced at PetSmarts, this one is beyond ridiculous, and corporate should be aware that they have a managerial positioned employee YELLING at customers. So use this store if you feel like getting yelled at, if that's your thing. We've canceled our Banfield Wellness Plan; we can afford a more conveniently located vet anyhow. read more

Let me start of by saying that I have taken my dog here for years to be groomed. They have always been extremely helpful. I dropped my dog of to get groomed today only for them to call me a couple hours later stating I need to come get my dog, when I asked if he was ready a young lady stated no and he was bad so they would not groom him. Now i know my dog is no walk in the park but he weighs about 11 lbs.I tried to get her to elaborate and she was extremely short and rude with me. I asked if she was new seeing as I had gotten my dog done with no issues in the past and she said yes. I asked to speak to another manager or seasoned groomer and she stated she didn't know when they would be back and did not give me an answer and just kept repeated that I need to get my dog. Worst customer service ever! I am not sure what is going on but I will never come back and get my dog groomed at Petsmart ever again and do not trust them with my dog. They should not have new untrained, rude staff that do not know how to properly groom. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE THEY CLEARLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! read more

I would give the store itself a 3 1/2 stars because service is good and I find good deals. But this 2 star is specifically for the grooming department. The ladies were nice and attentive but the service was "meh". I have a 12lbs bichonpoo and when he came to me his back was still wet, his chin was still damp, and his nails were bluntly cut. Oh and he smelled like a muddy dog! You know when dogs play in the rain and grass ..that's what my dog smelled like. It was a bad smell. He's suppose to smell good..is what I was expecting. But whatever shampooed they used was terrible. And yes I know I could've paid for an upgraded shampoo service. But I might as well by the bottle of shampoo myself. I shouldn't have to upgrade on shampoo just for it to smell it. I expect their regular shampoo should already smell good and make the dog soft. I'm not coming back for my dog to get washed. I'll stick to my regular groomer that I go too. It includes a great shampoo and conditioner without the extra cost. I paid at PetSmart 33$ while my regular groomer is 35$ and includes way more than PetSmart. read more

Hate that PetSmart sells live animals, even more furious when I see that they are sick, but I'm livid when the people that need to help them won't. Pets aren't merchandise. Stop selling live animals!! Or at least take proper care of the animals you are selling. read more

Just stopped by today for some dog food and training items. The staff here were friendly and helpful. We stopped one gentleman on his way to another department to help us with a product and he didn't act inconvenienced at all. Took the time to go above and beyond to tell us about a product and their return policy of things didn't work out. The employee at the register used a store card because our account wasn't showing up in the system (out of state account). Overall we couldn't of asked for more while just stopping in. We'll probably return soon to give the grooming department a try. read more

Absolutely worst costumer service I have ever had in my life. The employee's are beyond rude and disrespectful. I came in trying to purchase a pet and they gave us absolutely no instructions nor advice for him, and instead i was basically forced to buy so many things unless i could not leave with him. Not only this, but they also called their manager on me to reject the adoption because I seemed confused.... OF COURSE i was confused!!!!!! They didn't help at all. The eye rolls, the rude remarks, everything was just HORRIBLE. They made the adoption process horrible. NEVER COME HERE read more

I just buy guinea pig food there, I don't know about the grooming. The place is clean and has a good selection, which is not true of all Petsmart stores. The caged animals also seem relatively happy and their cages always look clean. read more

I have been a frequent customer at several PetsMart in the D.C, Virginia and Maryland area. What I found with my experience at this particular location is that the grooming salon is lacking. The people are very friendly, however, they seem to lack the ability to do a satisfactory job. I took my dog in to have his nails ground and even though I paid to have the nails ground, it seemed as if the nail were clipped. The nails still had sharp edges and were long. The appearance of the effort prompted me to ask if the nails were ground or clipped. The fact that I even had to ask illustrates the poor attention to detail that was exhibited. As stated earlier, I have visited several PetsMart locations in the area and this was the worse nail grooming that I have experienced as opposed to the Virginia Beach PetsMart which seem to have a higher skill level and an elevated since of attention to detail. DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PET HERE! My dog was cut deep and needed stitches! I took my Yorkshire, my baby, to the Petsmart in Calverton (Cherry Hill Rd/ Silver Spring) on May 25, 2016 for a bath and hair cut. About 45 minutes after dropping her off someone called from the store in a panic. She explained she accidentally cut my baby and that she would need stitches. The recovery process has been agonizing for my family. She is forced to wear the cone on her head and will not eat, drink, or relieve herself with it on. The hospital instructed us to keep it on her for two weeks so that she would not bother the wound. She is miserable. She used to be so happy. THE WORST PART OF ALL OF THIS is that nobody in that store bothered to follow up and show concern. I thought sure I'd get a coupon for at least a free bath and hair cut. The inexperienced girl that cut my dog didn't finish so my poor baby looks ridiculous right now. Surely they had to know because of her accident the service was not completed. I believe that she deserves a free a bath and hair cut every other month for the next year! But a courtesy call and a coupon for the service we came in that day for would have been a minimum. Instead, NOTHING! If you love your pet DO NOT bring them to that Petsmart. The staff is untrained and unconcerned for your animal. After 9 days I called their customer service line to let them know of my disappointment. The next day Alena, the store manager, called me to offer me 15% off a purchase in the store. I almost lost it. So you slice my baby up and think I'm coming back to spend more money in that place to save a lousy 15%?????? What kind of manager would even think of calling me after all we have been through to offer me a discount on products in the store!!!! DO NOT GO THERE! You have been warned. It could have been worse. There have been tons more accidents. As stunned as I was, imagine finding out your dog has been killed in the care! I feel so bad for casually handing over my dog to a stranger, and leaving her there to be injured. She must have been so scared. read more

Excellent customer service. Highly recommend. Felt comfortable leaving my pet. Will definitely return.

I have the most wonderful groomer her name is Alexis she treats my babies Jefe,Popcorn and Kyrie like they are her own and they love her. They get so happy when they see us pulling up to Petsmart. Nightmare ! people told me do not let PetSmart groom my dog, I didn't listen to them and it was disaster . I don't want to get into the details because it was ugly and very unprofessional , but one thing upsetting me the most is they hate their job, not all of them but few of them , it you hate dogs, just do something else , please do not lie and treat dogs like your enemy, pets are our children, I hate myself for leaving my dog for 6 straight hours in that jungle, I trusted them , they said they take good care of him, give him water but they lied . My dog went home drank water like never before , he drank the whole bowl of water in few minutes and after that he lay down , totally depressed . read more

This place is ridiculous! First, when I dropped my beagle off I told the groomer I would pick him up when I got off work. They called me several times afterwards to say he was ready. Nobody communicated with the next person that I would come get him when I got off. THEN when I do pick him up I was petting him and immediately saw a flea! As I closely examined him, I saw several more fleas on him. I just took him to the vet the weekend before and they said nothing about fleas and he is on frontline as well. I took him back in the store and the people just look at each other with no idea how to handle the situation. Finally I asked them to give him a flea and tick bath so I did not take him home infested. THEN, when I came to pick him up they gave him to me SOAKING WET!!!! The groomer said that he would not stay under the dryer and he escaped????? I have a 20 pound, overly friendly beagle!!! They definitely could have made sure he was dry. I bathe him all the time and deal with the same thing but never leave him SOAKING WET!!! I think they did the same thing when they bathed him the first time and just let him dry in the cage probably. I just decided to leave and dry him myself when I got home. The whole thing just disgusted me and my dog will NEVER go back!!!! read more

Think Twice before getting your pet groomed at this place. I drop off my yorkie at 9am. That was her appointment time. I had to give a copy of her updated rabies shot. Well time was going by, so I called at 11:50am for an update. The first person kept asking her name and appointment time. Then the person who was suppose to do her grooming came on the phone and said. I cancel her appointment at 9:30am, I was like she is there at petsmart and was drop off at 9am. Now get this response she gave me, are you sure she was drop off here??? WTH. I told them I am on my way and hung up the phone. On my way they called me on cell, which I didn't answer. I got there and everyone was looking at me. I guess they figured I was going to cuss everyone. The lady said to me, she was so hype I could not groom her, whattttttttt. Don't lie to me, you should have said she was in the back and we forgot about her, so we didn't not groom cookie. Cookie looked the exact same. No wash, no clip, nothing at all. Taking the dog there for grooming has been a good experience all 3 times. The boy can be a handful when left with strangers, and they have done a great job of getting him in, doing a thorough job and having him ready when they say they will be done. For a puppy, it was $16 but I still wouldn't go back. We dropped our new puppy off (we had only had her for a week) spur of the moment because there was an opening and the girl basically dragged her from me down into a swinging door when I could not see her anymore. As I was filling out paperwork at the desk, the same girl came back and said, "she was pretty nice..until I had to put her the cage." What?! Why does she need to be in a cage if you "had an opening"?! Then the girl filling out my info on the computer did not even take my phone number, when I asked her, she said "oh yeah, it's in the computer." I KNEW that she had not asked me for it, so I had to go back in and pretend to give my boyfriend's number as an alternate number just in case. Low and behold that was the number they called to say she was ready. I haven't even gotten to the worst part yet..as I was filling out paperwork I checked a box that said specifically "No, I DO NOT consent to cutting my dog's hair." When we picked her up, her hair had been cut ALL over and her nose had been shaved! We could tell that she didn't like it and was trying to pull away because the cut was all jagged. Never again! read more

I wish there was a 0 star option. We took our dog to Petsmart for a bath and nail trim. To start our first time experience we were not greeted and the staff was MISERABLE and rude. They were dragging her to the back without a care, needless to say it was extremely hard for me to leave her. She was supposed to be done with the service in four hours, when we didn't receive a call after the window we attempted to call them numerous times. When they finally picked up they stated that it would be another 20 minutes......ridiculous! Immediately when we picked her up you could see choppy cuts of her hair, she is a short haired lab mix she doesn't need her whole body cut. With all of that aside the worst part has that her nails were trimmed so HORRIBLY! They were split and cut so poorly, they even forgot two of them. Overall, it was an awful experience and we will never go back to this location for any reason. PetSmart really needs to look at the low quality services that they are offering and the under-qualified staff they hire. read more
