    Halloween theme dog things

Pro: big parking lot, has a vet place, groomers, variety of pets to buy, host pet adoption event. Con: price of items. A good local store that we go to buy whimzees for our dog. There store also has a vet area and they also offer groomers which can be hit or miss. We took our dog one time for the groomer with an older lady and had a good experience. All in all a ok place to shop for pet supplies.

    Head is not cut

I'm only giving one star when they really deserve zero. But management was very nice. But I took my dog for a grooming to this location due to the one near me being booked. His appointment was 9:30am. They had my dog until 12pm. Toye Wright, groomed my dog and had him looking crazy. I have had my dog for 8 years and NEVER has he been stressed, he was drooling excessively, nails were NOT cut, private area was NOT cut, legs weren't trimmed and he had a mane that was NOT asked for. I told them to cut him down to a #5 which is a little longer than the #7 I usually do. I paid extra money for the new "luxury" service and have NOTHING to show for it, no pumpkin shampoo and no bandana. Management did refund my money, which I am really happy about, so my issue is not with them. What makes things worse, I had tipped Toye prior to me seeing my dog since they were very busy and I just wanted to get my dog and go. I requested my money back and Toye declined it. I only noticed how bad his cut was when I walked out. But since Toye said my dog was stressed the whole time and drooling, I didn't want to take him back inside. I will be talking to corporate about my experience. I had to take my dog to the Petsmart in Laurel, so that they can better assist my dog! Even the worker at that location was confused on Toye's "work". I will NEVER go back to the Petsmart in Silver Spring and I will make sure EVERY one knows not to have Toye Wright touch or even look at their pet!

Big parking spaces, giod ventilation insode the store, mostly lots of animal's food and somewhat poor customer service, it seems that almost every employee is doing their own thing in a non professional way. I went in there today with an intention of buying a turtle so i asked one of the ladies who works there about the turtles and she said sorry i can't help you !! Im helping some one else!!! So i waited a good 10 minutes and she was just cleaning the aquariums and not helping anyone else. I ended uo getting tired and left.. I really didn't like this location at all they dont have many animals or nive fish.

Cuts and blood after visiting this groomer

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE FOR GROOMING!!! My poor dog has cuts, scrapes, nicks, and blood everywhere (see pics) after visiting this groomer. Brianna, who groomed him, was very nice, but definitely lacked experience. Please make sure you are getting your staff the right amount of training so that we don't have to go through this traumatic experience ever again.

Five weeks ago, we couldn't let visitors into our home through the front door, walk past other dogs, or be in-the-midst of little ones without major stress for both dogs and humans alike. Fast forward to now, and our dog-reactive pup can pass other dogs on walks with minimal (and occasionally, no) reaction; our kid-fearful pup can hang out near the chaos of little ones playing at the park without stressing out; and we can do introductions with guests visiting our home that don't make us dread having visitors. Prior to Brittany's help, I hadn't walked one of the two in more than a year because the experience was always so stressful. Now, I'm proud every time he turns to me for cues and reassurance as we go on more confident walks together. Our training experience with Brittany really strengthened our trust of, and bond with, both dogs. Like I said, life-changing. Here's what we loved most about working with her: 1. She genuinely cares about our dogs and treated them like she'd treat her own fur-child. It put all of us at ease. 2. She does 100% positive reinforcement behavior training, so we knew (and believed in) her methodology. 3. She customized the training plan for our dogs. We got to pick our top priorities, and she chose the specific activities that would help us and our fur-children accomplish those goals. I could go on and on... we're just so thankful we found her. Thank you so much, Brittany!

Our very first interaction was great...his energy was wonderful...he did not disappoint! He was very methodical with his approach...explaining every step of the process...very engaging...constant updates of the Boyz progress...videos, photos...wait! The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. As a responsible pet owner, I want to make sure that there is consistency and an expectation that my Boyz are well behaved and well mannered. Which means I have to do the work. Funny, as I was driving home from our final session, I was so tempted to take them on a short walk because I knew it would be enjoyable. But decided to wait until morning... I'm so excited to be able to have an enjoyable walk with these guys... less scolding and more bonding. Well worth the time and financial commitment. Thank you OLK9 Maryland for bringing additional joy to our home... things are definitely more "manageable". I'm really looking forward to our walks, especially since there will be NO more pulling! Can't wait to be able to take them to the "brick and mortar" with me once it's open! "Life Changing K9 Training"

I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.

Every booking, every pet, every time: more signatures and "agreements" than a mortgage closing. Somewhere there's a lawyer who's never met a dog and decided the real threat to this business is the guy who's paid them loyally for three years. You carefully fill out the entire grooming form online, pick every option -- then show up and they shove a paper copy across the counter to sign the exact same thing again. And after all that paperwork, they still claim they don't have the phone number they've had on file for three years and called me on before. Let's put this in perspective. I can order dinner to my door in two taps -- Reorder, Apple Pay, done. A stranger drives hot food across town on the strength of my thumbprint. But dropping off dogs these people have known for three years apparently requires a signing ceremony and a fresh liability waiver every single visit. In 2026, that's not caution. That's a business that's forgotten how to trust its own customers. And then there's the membership -- the crown jewel of contempt. They took a system that worked and actively torched it. Gone are the daycare credit packs: fair, flexible, buy-what-you-need, the way a business treats people it respects. In their place, a pricier monthly "membership" that auto-drafts your card whether your dog walks through the door or not, with no rollover for the days you paid for and never used. Read that again: you pay, they keep it, your dog gets nothing, and they call it a perk. It's not a membership -- it's a standing withdrawal from your bank account with a bow on it. It punishes the exact people who kept this place in business: the regulars whose lives don't run on a fixed weekly schedule. Some months my dogs come once, some months five times, because that's how actual life works -- and this program is built to make sure I lose either way. It doesn't serve pets. It doesn't serve owners. It serves a spreadsheet, and it treats every loyal customer as a recurring charge to be maximized rather than a person to be valued. It is, top to bottom, the most openly hostile "loyalty" scheme I've ever been asked to fund. When customers spend more time signing forms and fighting your billing than petting their dogs, you're not a pet resort -- you're a law firm with a kennel attached. Take your pets somewhere that still remembers what the word "customer" means.

An error did occur in one of our visits, but I won't go into detail because I think what's more important is not what error it was that occurred, but rather the incredible efforts made in response by the business to rectify the issue. Our concerns were listened to and the response was respectful. The owner not only heard our concerns but they were able to show they can be objective in their assessment of the issue. They went above and beyond to make it right. The solutions offered were both incredibly generous and fair. In terms of the quality of the grooming, they made our fur babies look like pristine angels. They smell fantastic too, and their hair looked amazingly glossy and soft. They appear to do great with grooming both small and large dogs (we have both), and they even did great work on our big boy who has hair that's more difficult to work with. In resolving the issue with one of our pups, they blended things perfectly to make the original issue appear more natural and less jarring.
