Manager denied me service at the aquarium because they were within an hour of closing. I stood around at the area at 6:00pm and asked for help at 6:20pm. They close at 7:00pm and it wasn't like there was a line at the checkout. It was pretty dead and the manager was walking around chatting on the phone & sitting in her office. First time checking this location out and it sucks to feel like I don't want to give PetSmart another chance. Will be ordering online at other stores and hopefully PetSmart will drop the Aquarium market all together because it seems like the employees aren't in to it. read more

I brought my new puppy in to look at a Diggs crate and accessories. Since they are pricey, I wanted to check it out prior to purchasing. They had one in stock, none on display. I asked if the box could be opened so I could feel the material and get an idea of the overall quality. The manager rudely said no. Not only was he rude and unaccommodating, he was nowhere in sight and the cashier had to call him. There was no one else helping customers on the floor and there were several people in line at the register. I felt terrible for the cashier trying to help everyone by herself. Victory Dr Pet smart training is the worst paid for Two package training and never was able to complete the fist (8) weeks in private sessions because the trainer wanted to do group session. So I never got wait I paid for nor offered a refund. Pet smart on Abercorn refused service to clip my dog nails. claiming that They cannot give service to a dog that just had the whole updated shots. ahead of when it actually needed updated. I will deal with Petco here on out and just drive pass pet smart . My pup Leo(my 3 year old dog), has known PetSmart since he was an actual puppy. It is a must go to if you have a pet. The store is pet friendly. You can bring your furry baby with you to shop, which I love! Or if your furry little one needs socializing feel free to bring them in for a walk and/or to make friends. We brought Leo in all the time when he was a puppy to help with socialization. PetSmart welcomes you to do so! There are only a few places in Savannah that are truly pet friendly. And you don't have to feel like a bad pet parent if your dog has an accident, barks a lot, is very curious, the list goes on. When you check out at the register they give your pet a treat! Leo loves when we check out! The store itself is open, clean, & organized. The staff are kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. If you are unsure or have questions ask them! They know about the products in store. And may have suggestions. They also price match! So do not be afraid to show items you found online or in Savannah for less. They will match it! The restrooms are a little hard to find. But they have them. When you enter the store they are on the right side, close to the area with pet gates, right behind the shelving. They have a variety of pet foods. If your pet has allergies or dietary requirements they most likely will have food and/or treats for your pet. This is PetSmart so yes they do have pets you can bring home with you! Check out the rescue cats they have from different rescues during the week. And on weekends sometimes the have rescue dogs too! They of course have fish, hamsters, lizards and other pets too. My dog Leo destroys toys! We call him the little destroyer, lol. But PetSmart is where we have found toys that survive his "destroyer mode". They are a thick plastic, bright colors, and have plastic spikes(great for dental health). These toys are located directly behind the registers in bins. And they range in price from $1-$4. I love the price! Because Leo goes through toys so quickly. If you sign up to be a PetSmart member you'll receive discounts and special deals. It is free to sign up! And if you download the app there's a game you can play! You can earn additional discounts by playing the game. I signed up for the emails so I'm alerted when our favorite foods, treats, and toys are on sale. It's worth it! read more

Teddy my baby has been coming here for years for his grooming. Samantha has been his groomer since he was 6 months and his 13 now. So, a LOONNGG time. Other then the grooming salon and buying big bags of bird seed for my bougie birds. I haven't had any real issues with Petsmart in general. I usually already know what I need when I go in. So I'm in and out pretty quickly. I love that she remembers us like we are family and if we haven't been in, in a while she will give us a call to make sure he is doing well. Makes me feel like they are more of a family then a business I just take my dog too. read more

I ordered my pets food online as a pickup order. Not sure why it took so long for me to get my order because my order was made since 11ish this morning. This was my first time using curbside pickup, and unfortunately, the curbside pickup experience was a big let down. I had such high hopes, nothing says big let down like having to go inside and pick up the order that was made to be a curbside pickup order after you were told 10 to 15 minutes before that someone was going to bring the order out shortly. Then to walk in and see your order sitting to side just patiently waiting to brought to me and instead I had to come to it. So much for curbside. read more

Updated review. I take back every positive thing I said in my previous review. My experience on 11/18/22: I called earlier in the day to make a nail grind appt for my old man dog. Couldn't do it online. No one answers at the groomer dept. I'm rerouted to the operator, Trevor, at least three times until he finally just tells me, "it's fine, just drop in!" I come in and was told, "because of my dogs age, they won't grind his nails". Fine, I understand policy, but the groomer cashier obviously doesn't understand human decency or kindness. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a 50+ pound, 15 yo dog in and out of a car, walk across the parking lot, and wait inside? And then not even have the compassion to just cut his nails and let me know that I'll need to make other arrangements for next time?! I'm not even sure where this age policy is located. So I proceed to have to walk my dog around the store to at least get the other things I needed while sobbing profusely having been reminded, yet again, of my sweet, old dogs mortality. I will never go to this place again. Not only is the grooming dept obviously sorely mismanaged, but they obviously lack any kind of empathy or kindness. read more

This is the second time i have taken both my labs to this groomer. The first time went well. This last time, i warned her that my old lab has bad hips and gets nervous walking on tile. I suggested she walks next to him because that's what we do in our home. She tugged him toward the back and even started dragging him by the lead after he had slipped on the floor. Which didn't sit right with me. After picking them up, he couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. Now he keeps dragging his back foot. I'm hoping it's just sore and not an injury. My other dog keeps going to check on him (which she normally doesn't do). This leads me to believe something may have happened behind the scenes. I want to start off by saying I'm a Petco girl 100%. It's really unfortunate the only Petco within an hour is all the way in Statesboro.. anyways I just moved here so all I have is Petsmart aside from other small businesses. This location to me is not the most convenient and when you enter the parking lot you almost can't see where Petsmart is exactly. Just know that it's back there LOL When I got there the store was pretty empty and I was able to find what I needed pretty quickly. I'm very pleased that they carry basically the same exact food as Petco. I really don't have anything negative to say about my experience or the store itself. I will definitely be returning however I think I will utilize the location on victory by whole foods more often just because of convenience. read more

We always go to pet-smart and buy so much every time we go but now we won't be back. We have 2 FEMALE Leopard geckos that stay together. We were planning on upgrading their tank and getting it from pet-smart but we wanted to ask a few questions and we did. In planning this we wanted to get another one and put it in the tank we have now and they refused us service when finding out our 2 FEMALE geckos stay together. I find this insane since we bought them together and they were put in those tanks with 3 other geckos. We keep them together because they get along and never fight but pet-smart does not understand that. read more

PetSmart is obviously the best place for your pet. Not only can you get anything they need, there is also banfield pet hospital where I take my pet as well. You can put your pet on insurance which has saved us a ton of money and they also get free treats in the store. read more

I took my Shi poo on 1-31-20 for grooming, I've taken her before and it's always so so. Today I booked the appointment several days ahead online. An 11am appointment was over at after 4pm. I watched from the window the last hour, the groomer trimmed a little but was easily distracted by the phone, other groomers, people that came in. She took her time and was clearly not focused.. Five hours is too long to keep a dog for grooming. It didn't seem overbooked in the salon area. I can't even get the cut I want but I settle for what I get. Never again. This facility needs management and structure and instruction. read more

I typically go there for tropical fish, super worms and other reptile needs. The quality of what they carry has become terrible! There just as many dead fish in the aquariums as live fish. The only fish they seem to carry any more are Tetras. They NEVER have super worms anymore. I guess it's time to find somewhere else to go. Unless your buying dog or cat food, don't waste your time. read more

Went to the pet groomers. We asked plus package that included mail grin, teeth brushing, ears and deodorizing. We had to ask her if she did each individual item listed. She told us he didn't let her do his ear or nails and I asked if we should pay full price since she could not do the major task included. She took off 15 percent and they only took it off the $21 dollars that the plus package cost not the total. Very disappointed in the over all grooming. read more

The store employs unfriendly unhelpful employees while giving out differing information on store policies. I waited 30 minutes for a curbside pickup order while watching customers come and go easily with no lines. But no one ever came to deliver my order. I called twice to try and find out what was going on, but when connecting to the curbside pickup line, I never got an answer. It was a complete waste. Another issue is non compliance with policy or maybe just nobody knows what policy actually is. Their store website policy says they will hold your order for something like five days and then cancel the order, but mine sat for over a week, still available with no way of cancelling the order. I picked it up well outside of the store policy time and again waited a long time for someone to come out despite a pretty empty parking lot. I also encountered a very snippy employee at the register upon trying to buy prescription food and asked them to look up my cats prescription. I didn't have my prescription card and the store on Victory told me that I could always look it up if I ever lost it. The employee snapped at me and demanded a name for who told me that when I told her they need a consistent policy since the other store is who told me to look it up. Like I was lying about something so ridiculous. When I told her it was someone at the other store on Victory, she just continued being rude and told me they don't do that and didn't even offer to take the items back. When I left them on the counter she told me I could get another one at the Banfield when they're open, but not a single apology, just aggressive attitude. On top of all of this, the store is dingy and no one asks if you need any help. I saw employees chatting with each other while the single rude employee at the front dealt with a steady line of customers. It wasn't even close to closing time -- they just don't want to be there and they make sure customers know. I would recommend the other PetSmart location in Savannah for friendly efficient service and a much cleaner more inviting space, but stay away from this place. read more

DOn't go here for fish I have had Tetra/ Betta Community tanks my WHOLE life. I know how to introduce them, and how to care for the separate species. I went to Petsmart to get a new tank for my college dorm. I also picked up 8 tetras and a betta. Once they were all in their tank, the betta turned and started to be really aggressive with my tetras! I have never had this problem (the betta usually gives one or two nips and is done, not attacking). We put the Betta back in his cup for now to decide what to do, and all the tetras started dying!!! The water is fine, and we feed the right amount, but they all started to belly up! Taking the dead fish back and demanding a refund. I haven't even had them for 24 hours. HORENDOUS read more

So I have been trying to book an appointment online since April 29th...I called and was told they were booked at Petsmart...So I took my dog to Woof Gang and they did an amazing job...well it's time for my dog to be groomed and I still can't book online with Petsmart...they only reason I called Petsmart again is because Woof Gang is booked. Well when I called and talked to Samantha...she tells me that the reason I cannot book online is because my dog has been blocked and needs to go get a groom by the vet or a sedated grooming because she bites, she's stressed, and she cries. NEWS TO ME!!! My dog is 6 and has been going there off and on since she was a puppy. So obviously it's the person. Because how can I get the reports at the end that says she was good or something of the sort to now my dog has to be sedated and she's just an evil dog. Ridiculous. I literally took my dog to Woof Gang on April 29th. The first thing she told me when I picked my dog up is she's so sweet. So Petsmart maybe you need some people that genuinely love and handle pets the right way because I want to know why that last person wrote that and didn't have the decency to tell the Pet owner. Ridiculous. NEVER GOING BACK HERE. EVERYBODY GO TO WOOF GANG. The ladies are nicer and more helpful anyways. Update: I just called Woof Gang for an appointment tomorrow and inquired if my 9 lbs dog was everything that Petsmart said...the gentleman looked up her behavior report and said no we didn't have an issue from her at all. read more

I will never ever ever take my dog back to this "grooming" facility. I took my toy poodle in and explained that I do not like the traditional poodle cut but prefer the teddy bear cut. I told that I don't not want my dogs face shaved at all, just trimmed neatly. I even showed them a picture. When I picked my dog up he was butchered around the nose area. He looked aptly like what I told them I didn't like, except he was also injured. The area was red and appeared to be scratched from shaving. I notified them and was told that it was probably just razer burn. They sent me to Banfield to see the vet (using my dogs wellness plan) and charged me for antibiotics. They butchered my baby and then charged me for it (grooming, as well as, antibiotics). Never in life will I bring my dog back. read more

I have just recently moved to the area (within the last week) and am searching for a great petstore for my baby, Holli. I came across Petsmart on Abercorn and was weary at first because I have had unpleasant experiences in the past, however, the staff and customer service here was impeccable! I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and all of my questions were answered sufficiently. I needed help finding a new food for Holli because of her allergies and they knew right where to point me and she has been doing wonderfully on it! Couldn't be happier!
