A friend of mine recommended K9 Heeling for dog training because she has sent all of her family…read moredogs there over the years and has always had great results. My first experience with K9 Heeling was virtual training sessions with Mitch. I had tried a few other trainers with my new rescue dog previously, but right away Mitch was asking questions about my dog and our relationship that no one else had, and immediately began identifying room for improvement and areas we could work together. In a few one-hour virtual sessions, Mitch helped me make great strides with my rescue so that I could leave her out in my living room when I left for work without her panicking or peeing anywhere. It was clear to me that Mitch really understood dog psychology and how to best train dogs to achieve a happy and positive relationship with them. When I had to go on a week-long trip recently, I thought it would be a good opportunity to use K9 Heeling's board and train two-week program. I drove almost three hours from DC to drop her off at what appeared to be a well-maintained and remote area, which made me happy that the odds of my dog escaping to a high-traffic area were low. I was immediately greeted by employees who were expecting my dog; I conveyed my hesitation because I had never left her with strangers before and was worried that due to her size (7lbs) she might escape through a small hole in a fence or be picked on by larger dogs. They assured me that no dog is ever unsupervised when out of their kennel. Later that evening, I got an email from K9 Heeling saying that they usually wait a day to send an update, but that they knew I was nervous about leaving my dog and wanted to let me know she was settling in just fine. Over the next two weeks, I got updates via Instagram photos and videos, as well as update emails with helpful training guides. I drove back out to pick her up after two weeks and spent about an hour with Mitch discussing how they had trained her and how I could continue the training. We went on a practice walk together where my dog showed off her new heeling skills and did not even try to lunge after the free range chickens! Overall, I highly recommend K9 Heeling for training, boarding, and even grooming needs. They are well-staffed, their facilities are in good shape, they keep a close eye on all their dogs, and genuinely care about the happiness and health of each animal. WELL WORTH the long drive from DC!

Shortly after they were diagnosed with pneumonia and our vet bills neared $4000. I am not alone. The emergency vet stated several other dogs were hospitalized with a very severe case of pneumonia after their stay at the same kennel. I immediately informed the kennel of my dog's diagnosis. I asked the vet if they did, and they said they informed the kennel as well after the first three cases. After sharing my dogs experience on social media (without mentioning the kennel name), several others messaged me to to let me know about their sick dogs boarded before, during, and after at the same kennel. While negotiating vet expenses with the owner, JC, I was referred to contact their lawyer. Delmarva K9 blocked me from their Facebook page. My account access on their portal to access my pet information was revoked as well. My dogs seem to have recovered, but my friend's young dog was not so lucky. He lost his life after battling Mycoplasma Pneumonia.
