We recently boarded our German Shepherd rescue dog at South Paw. At 1 1/2 years old Lila had been with us less than 3 months when she started her 9 day stay. Since she is still very shy and cautious we were concerned that a stay could result in her regressing. But, since we have used South Paw for years and love it we knew this was the best case scenario for boarding. Boy were we right! She came out of her shell and into her own in relating to the staff. She loved the playground! And, she was excited to be home, seemed more comfortable in her own skin (proud she'd met the challenge?) and and had moved in a positive direction in socialization growth. My pets unfortunately were unable to stay at South Paw. One of our dogs had a medical issue as soon as we arrived. The staff could not have been more helpful and considerate during this very traumatic event. The resort was very clean and the staff was very attentive and thoughtful. Denise has been caring for our cat for two years now. Our cat has been, Ill and she goes out of her way to care for him. Including extra feedings that he needs. Our cat loves her and Jumps into her arms when he sees her. Can't give this place a better rating. They love your animals like their own. I wish I could give South Paw 100 stars I simply can not recommend them enough ! Not only did our Gracie girl have a great time, we felt very comfortable leaving her for the first time. Everyone was just so nice & accommodating with some last minute changes we had to make. It's extremely clean & inviting, the fenced yard is fantastic & we loved that she was able to get a nice little bath & cleanup before we picked her up. Being able to communicate via text, and receive photos of her while we were away was just the best added touch. I'm not sure that's really offered anywhere else. This was our first time boarding our dog so naturally we were a little bit nervous. After researching places near Bethany Beach, we decided to go with South Paw. From the moment we contacted them, they were incredibly responsive and helpful with making arrangements for our dog Ella. They were happy to answer all questions and were incredibly friendly. When We came to drop Ella off, we were warmly greeted and they gave us the opportunity to walk her back and set up her crate for her. We kept in touch with them a bit during the week and even picked her up mid week to take her to Assateague Island for the day (highly recommend for a dog friendly beach). When We returned, Ella was very excited to see Denise and wanted to show us where she had been sleeping. A very good sign that she was a happy girl at South Paw. When it came time to pick her up, check out was easy and they washed all of her towels and blankets for us and packed up her bag. Something not expected but greatly appreciated. We had a fantastic experience at South Paw Pet Resort! We were traveling from Boston with our two pit bulls. We were worried about finding a place that would be pittie-friendly and friends of ours recommended South Paw. To make it even more interesting, one of our pitties was also recovering from surgery so he needed to be in a place where he would have ample time to relax and still remain with his energetic sister. We decided to bring the dogs with us to Salisbury in case anything happened to our post-op dog that needed immediate care. South Paw was able to exceed our expectations! The facility is white-glove clean and spacious. There was ample room for the dogs to play outside and their indoor kennel was big enough for the two of them to stretch out. We were able to bring their favorite blankets and their favorite toys to keep them occupied. I portioned out all their food and even included a bag of treats. One of the owners, Denise, is such a kind-hearted woman that truly loves all animals. She addressed each of my dogs by their name. She was out in the yard playing with them and giving them lots of love. As a bonus, she even sent me pictures during their stay of them having fun playing in the yard. We joked that the two "city pitties" had never seen so much green space (which was rather true). Drop-off and pick-up is all done by appointment which is convenient for travelers. When we picked the dogs up, they really didn't want to leave because they were spoiled with attention and so much room to play. The dogs were so tired from playing, they practically slept the entire ride up the I-95 corridor. The quality, care, and peace-of-mind is exceptional. The prices are reasonable. We will most likely be back for when we need to board our dogs when traveling to Salisbury. read more

We needed some day care for our two dogs while we were on vacation at Assateague. We were camping, and they do most everything with us, but leaving them at our tent for some activities we couldn't do with dogs obviously isn't an option. We searched for a place close by, and we were so happy to find South Paw Pet Resort. We read the reviews, and we figured it would be ok, but you still never know. Traveling down side roads among private homes, we weren't sure what we would find, but we were very pleasantly surprised to drive down a private drive to a large open field with a private home and a separate faculty for the pets. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and you could tell the owners care a lot about their home and business. We were warmly greeted, and we got to go to take our dogs back to their space. I needed to board my dog for a 5-night stay while family (with pet allergies) were visiting, and I'm so thrilled to have found South Paw Pet Resort! Denise was super friendly, seemed to genuinely love the animals in her care, the kennels were clean and there is a big fenced in area they get to play in, rather than a small run like some kennels offer. We went with the extra 20 minute walk/day for our dog, and she even sent us a picture of him playing around in the pond! He came home exhausted and looking as healthy and happy as ever. Bailey and I love South Paws Resort. I have never seen a nicer and cleaner boarding facility. I've been using the resort since Bailey was a baby and he's 3 years old next month. The owners John and Denise couldn't be more welcoming, as is their staff. I love that they allow 2 legged patrons to walk in and around upon your visits. I have family in Ocean City so I always try to book Bailey into this fine resort. It's his favorite place. It books up fast as it's very popular , especially with their location being so accessible to the beach.
