Before Grooming

I paid for a lion cut. Long on head and feet and short on the body. She is a puppy. Rebecca L. Did her hair and said she had to stop because she peed on the table. She butchered the top of her head and left the rest of her long and a mess. Do not bring your dog here!!!

Love this dog paradise! Just fabulous community centered store, a mom and pop shop. It makes my heart open up when I buy here.

PetSmart has a decent selection of products (at least for dogs, as that's what I'm there for), at prices that aren't too bad. In fact, as a lad who adopted his dog (through DCSPCA and PetSmart's partnership), I was gracious enough to receive a book full of coupons to help offset the cost of products I'd need for the little one. That was a tremendous help, by the way. This facility is also very clean and well-organized, with friendly staff available for assistance at any time. The shining stars are the groomers. I've requested the expertise of both Kara M. and Samantha S., and both have exceeded my expectations with my shih tzu. My dog came out looking good and wasn't the least bit terrified. The care and pride that they take certainly shows in their work, and that's something that doesn't go unnoticed. Their washes/cuts are certainly recommended, and I'll certainly be back.

I always recommend Pampered Pooch for grooming for many reasons! Everyone is very friendly and warm! The care they provide to your dog is exceptional! They have different themes for post grooming photo shoots and a beautiful boutique to spoil your pooch! When you get your pup back they smell phenomenal and have a seasonal scarf to match their lovely cut! You will not be disappointed bringing your pup here!

9/12/24: Hi Rachel, As far as my being "confused and annoyed" I was not "confused." If anyone was…read moreconfused it was your receptionist. The conversation I described is nearly verbatim and she should have been transparent from the get-go/my first call, and that she was not is wholly on you for not supplying her with a clear and concise script/messaging for new clients. As far as being "annoyed," yes, that was correct on your part: I was annoyed. Also, please, don't take this review "as a compliment." I am unclear as to how 1 star could possibly be construed as a "compliment" (now I am "confused") and if you are being serious or being snide, but to be abundantly clear: this review is not a compliment. I'm writing about your shop 6 months later because 1) I do not to write spur of the moment, emotional, poorly thought out reviews and I let some time pass and re-evaluate; and 2) I pass your shop every day so I am reminded of my experience every day. As far as your 6 groomers toiling 6 days a week: consider opening up your hours beyond 8 hours a day to accommodate the needs of the community you serve. If you would like to discuss more, I'm all ears: contact me via Yelp and I'll send you my phone number. 9/11/24 This place has strange business practices. It is about a one minute walk from from my home and would not take my dog. I called to make an appointment for my older dog and the person who answered the phone took my information and was pleasant enough and then asked my dog's breed. When I said she was a doodle, she all of a sudden said she had no appointments. I hung up and then called back and asked her why she had appointments and then all of a sudden--when she heard the breed--she did not. She said--lol--"we do not have appointments for many months." I said, "I don't mind waiting." She said, "Well, it wouldn't be fair to our regular customers." I asked "Why?" She said "Because they will want to come in and will not be able to because new customers will have their spot." I said, "So you don't have enough staff?" She said, "No, we have enough staff." I got tired of her whack-a-mole answers and excused myself. I mean, just put a sign on the door that says "Doodles Not Welcome," like it's a diner in pre-Civil Rights Amendment era Birmingham, Alabama. Based on other reviews, the owner is popular and has a following from her prior location. However, she should be reminded that this is a dog grooming business and, like all businesses in Eastdale, it is supposed to serve a previously underserved area. Eastdale was constructed with a mission to deliver services and products to Arlington residents--not to people who decided to follow Rachel from 30 minutes away. Meanwhile my dog is a sweet natured four year old Doodle who I brush every day (she loves to lay on her back and get brushed) and bathe once a week (she's an outdoorsy gal!) Nice conclusion: I found a terrific groomer and we have had a monthly appointment with her for the last 6 months.

Highland Pet Resort - Checking in

Highland Pet Resort

We have been bringing our sweet girl to Highland pet resort since we moved here 1.5 years ago. We…read morelove this place and had never any issues. Our dog loves this place and is always so excited to go there. They always check everything when we get there, shot records, food, snacks, supplement and then we bring a bed , toys, blanket, leash. They even ask if she already ate. They always let me know when her next shot is due. Chris and his wife are always on top of everything, I can't say any other way. Also the girls what walk the dogs, I am assuming volunteers they always so so nice and love the animal. Top place I would definitely recommend!!

I give Highlands Pet Resort 4 Stars, but considered dropping to a 2 or 3. I hope this is read by…read morethe owners. The facility is in a beautiful setting. It is clean and well cared for. The two guys I met are just great - they love dogs, very friendly and just the type of folks you feel safe and confident with when leaving your dog. They treated my dog very well and as any dog owner can tell you - you know immediately from your pet's reaction that you are dealing with genuine love for dogs. I don't know what (if anything) happened. I am also not a vet and cannot say for sure about cause and effect, but I know my 3 year old Lab very well and know what works and what does not work. When we arrived we had two packs of our dog's food. The guy who received her seemed somewhat surprised that we were bringing food. We picked up our dog at 7pm. By the time we got home, our pet began with severe diarrhea. She kept us up half the night and needed to go out frequently. At one point she was unable to control herself forcing a house cleaning at 2am. The problem lasted until the morning when her digestive system has been completely emptied. Okay... maybe a virus, I don't think so. Her temperature was normal and there was not vomiting. I have previously seen this in my dog two times. On both occasions it was the result of giving her food for which she was not accustomed. Again, I don't want to pin something bad on what seems to be very competent and real good folks. However, I do not think I am making a mistake. My dog either got a hold of another dog's food, my instructions were not followed, or one of the guys with all good intentions gave a treat that did not sit well. The reason I left the food is because I am aware of how my dog reacts - perhaps I should have impressed this more, yet they too should have been more careful. So, in the future please consider the importance of what is being fed to a pet. With that said, I would in a second bring my dog back. I do think that this is a quality boarding and day facility.

Angelo saved our dog's life -- and I mean that in the most literal sense possible…read more Oliver is a rescue who had been surrendered by two families before us. We took him in, loved him, and still found ourselves in crisis -- biting, aggression, resource guarding. We were scared of our dog and desperate for help. Oliver was our fifth dog and as a family we were seasoned users of positive reinforcement as the primary training method. We turned to Angelo at Art of K9 and made the decision to board Oliver for 8 weeks. He took on Oliver after a thorough consultation. Angelo worked through Oliver's aggression and resource guarding using the e-collar and other training tools. These methods gave us the ability to communicate with and control our dog in a way positive reinforcement couldn't. The transformation is hard to put into words. Oliver is now relaxed, cuddly, and genuinely at peace. He still has his moments -- but now we have the tools to handle them. This has changed everything. If you have a dog with serious aggression or resource guarding and you're at your breaking point, I highly recommend Angelo. He didn't just train Oliver -- he saved his life and we are so thankful.

We sent our dog Monsi to Angelo- originally because of socialization problems, yet she surprised us…read moreand came out with so many higher level qualities we didn't anticipate or know was possible. At first, we second guessed our choice to leave Monsi for 6-weeks because we missed her. Every time we checked in with Angelo, he updated us, but we missed our fur baby so much. Now, afterwards, I can't stop recommending this program to everyone I know. It's a worthwhile investment IF you plan to KEEP UP with it. All of Angelo's work can easily be undone with dog owners that do not upkeep the foundation he creates. Currently our dog listens to each command after one time saying it, she is walking off leash behind us, does not lurk around the table while we eat or cook, stays in place for 2-hours and counting, and more. Overall, she has many service dog qualities. I need to give credit where it is due because our dog was unsure of herself, very anxious, annoying at times because she didn't know what to do during quiet hours at home and needed way too much physical exercise (4+ hours daily). He taught us, and our dog Monsi, that exercise and socialization looks different than we thought. Monsi is the dog we dreamed of and didn't know how to achieve. He tapped into her potential. She does not impede our life in anyway. She adds on to the quality and is stress free now that we know how to maintain and handle her. Not only that, but my parents sent their dog at the same time as our dog. So now we have two dogs that listen to the same command. We can bring our dogs on vacation and have complete calm and fun with them present. This was the greatest gift to a life of joy with a well trained fur family member! Thank you Angelo and Art of K9. I know picking a program at such a cost is nerve recking since there is not enough information or proof online but promise me, this is the place. We put a lot of trust into prior reviews and tiktok/Instagram videos.... We got lucky finding this place. It's a hidden gem of Westchester. If anyone needs more details to convince you this program is worth it, contact me. I'll convince you- haha!
