First time here because I moved in the area. The one I used to go to is the one in Daly City. They have the best groomers there. And i thought it will be the same here. I was wrong. My appointment was at 10 am. It usually takes two hours for the service i picked. But after 30 minutes they called me and told me my pup was ready. I knew something was wrong. I paid for the service then I went to go get my pup. When they brought her out. They told me she was deemed aggressive and they're no longer going to take her because of her aggression. So why did I get charged if the service wasn't done. And someone should've told me on the phone about the issue. Never had a problem in Daly City Petsmart. They always take her. Unfortunately, I didn't see the 2.6 star before booking for my dog's grooming today. When I brought my 20 lb shihtzu pomeranian to his appointment for bath and hair cut, the superinexperinced girl (skinny, white, blonde hair) who came to receive him, put a blue leash just around my dogs neck. Since she was very inexperienced (only worked there 2.5 years and probably that is all experience she got with dogs) she didnt spend a little time to bond with the dog nor offer any treat, instead she just put a blue leash around my dog neck and like an idiot just pull the rope, and as she would pull more the rope would get tighter, I went inside to check and saw my dog was coughing badly (chocking), what a nasty staff, she should be sued and fired. And my poor dog of course was terrified as to why she is trying to choke him and nibbed in her hand as she try to pull him away, and she tell me in a passive aggresive way that she does not take my dog because he bites. I mean I am speechless in the level of incompetency of this girl. What on earth...who pay you for your time there????!!! I can get 20 more competent people hired to work there tomorrow if you let me. First you are so incompetent that you choke the dog then dont know even how to handle him (he is 10 years old), then claiming he bite your hand and you can't wash him? Jamie had been grooming our small dog with curly fur for years. She is no longer there and we let another groomer take care of our dog. We picked up a completely shaved dog with no prior warning. She was matted and when this happened in the past Jamie would give me a courtesy call to let me know some areas would need to be shaved. Or spend more time brushing her and charge me for that. My dog's long bushy tail was completely shaved which never happened before. Bring Jamie back or let me know where she went to if still working as a groomer. read more

We have been taking are pet here for years, and was very happy with our groomer Jamie. We just figured out that she is no longer working for the company. For the last four months or so the services has been horrible, unsatisfactory and disappointing. Many of the recent reviews are on point. This place is at the bottom of the barrel. Sharma the cashier, she has a great customer service skills She treats everybody in line the same courteous friendly helpful way. She's resourceful and has a nice smile for all the customers. I let her know I drove all the way from Berkeley and she's even nicer to me, she goes above and beyond, sees that nobody else behind me and there's another cashier in another line, she takes me to dog bedding aisle and treats, and promotes other store products, I end up buying more than I should but do not mind at all. If I could give Steph more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! She has been taking care of all three of my Pomeranians, and every single visit leaves me beyond impressed. Not only do they come home looking like fluffy little show dogs, but they also smell amazing and are so relaxed--clearly, they love her as much as I do. Steph is patient, gentle, and incredibly skilled. She knows exactly how to work with each of their personalities (and trust me, each Pom has their own diva level ). She always takes her time to make sure every detail is perfect, from the even trims to the perfect paw shape. Finding a groomer who truly cares and treats your pets like their own is rare, but Steph does exactly that. I can't recommend her enough--you can tell she has a genuine passion for what she does, and it shows in every single grooming session. PLEASE BE AWARE: I strongly advise against taking your pets to the Pinole location. I will not be shopping at this store or using their services ever again. I took my dog to the Pinole PetSmart for grooming about a month ago and had an extremely disappointing experience. Not only was the grooming subpar, my dog had fleas the next day he did not have prior to the visit. Concerned and upset, I reached out to PetSmart's customer service. While they did eventually contact the store on my behalf, I had to follow up multiple times just to get any kind of response. Eventually, the issue was escalated to store management. When I spoke with Olivia, "store management", I was shocked at her response. She offered no apology and flat-out stated they don't issue refunds. Worse, she claimed the fleas must have come from the street as this happens to her pets! and insisted that the staff would have told me if my dog had picked them up at their facility. Terrible service ever. Took my cat for bath. And after an hour they called and said my cat got scared coz of dogs barking so they can't give her water bath and also they said they won't be able to dry her well after giving her waterless bath. After picking her up from them when I brought my cat home her body was all kind of greasy textures with really hard patches in some areas which we cannot get rid of after trying to clean. The store manager Olivia refused to groom my dog. If they are afraid to groom a Rottweiler then they should state that. My dog is anxious and does not like when other dogs are barking at her, and for her responding back barking she refused services for my dog. But, accepts the 10lb dog that barks and provokes my dog. We brought our 7 month old doodle in for his second grooming. The first was done by a young man who did a wonderful job. The second was done by a young woman as the first groomer was booked. The second grooming was abominable. Our dog was returned with a number of nicks and patchy spots. When he returned home he hid under the bed all night. As we weren't there during the process I can't say what took place but it was certainly traumatic. We will no longer be returning to the grooming stations at PetSmart. read more

And let us not forget: they DO really contribute to saving animals -- surely this should rank high as a criterion for our evaluation. I also love the fact that they will deliver. I had an appt scheduled 3mo in advance for my dog and I get a text not a call a text that my appt was cancelled so I call and ask why and was told the groomer is out on leave. Ok fine so I noticed that there prices have increased since my prior booking of my cancelled appt. And the manager refused to honor my original price of $59 on an appt they had cancelled. So now it's my problem and I now have to pay the price increase of $69 to reschedule. Horrible customer service! I would also like to mention I have had my 13lb yorkie for 9yrs and NEVER! Have I been told by a groomer until my last visit that I will be charged an extra $12 mixed breed fee" wtf is that? He's a yorkie with no extra effort needed to groom him! I purchased my son's first pet at this store. He selected a male betta fish. The ladies in the fish department were very helpful getting set up for our first fish. Unfortunately one week later "Bluey" died. Petsmart replaced my son's fish with another at no cost. I must admit it felt weird exchanging a fish. I have since called back a couple different times to ask questions about fish care. The employees are always so helpful and patient. "Bluey #2" is still going strong!! Awesome and caring staff!!!! Today I adopted a puppy, the shelter gave him to me severely neglected with matted hair and with what looked like and smelled like poo and vomit in it. I called PetSmart Vallejo enroute and told them I had an emergency grooming need. When I got there they we're waiting for us, evaluated him and then took him right in. Staff were so patient and caring with him, he was extremely frightened but it wasn't long before he and I knew he was in good hands. When I went to pick him up he was so fluffy and clean! In my book, these folks are miracle workers, forever grateful to the staff. A thousand thank you's! When I brought him in I wasn't sure what I was going to call him. It was hard to choose something fitting in his condition other than "Survivor". He has a name now Me and Max will be going back in to give them a little thank you from us. read more

This place is a bit of a disgrace. Things are rarely stocked. They are left on carts in aisles, that need to be put away. This store smells like dog business. There is always a pile or two of pee around. I'm not sure where they find their employees but they get a failing grade at filling online orders which is quite simple. The iPad literally tells you if you selected the correct item or not. So I don't understand the mistakes. I believe this place is too big for its britches and needs to downsize and be way more mindful of who they hire. Their manager Olivia is horrible at this job. Janice from the groomers was late to our schedule appointment, and to top it off denied us service for our 11 month old puppy. She had so much attitude and talked to us in a way that shows she didn't want to help us. She had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. She refused to give us service because our puppy hasn't had his 2nd dose of rabies shot yet BUT HES LESS THAN 1 YEARS OLD, how does that make sense. He still has his 1 year rabies shot. This place is such a waste of time and money. All the dog owners that came in also complained to staff about how they were not satisfied with the job they did on their dogs. Well, this was interesting because the first time I ordered online, went to the store, picked up my order and was good to go. I also got some help with them (corporate) about setting up an account and getting my points. But the next two times, I had to call them several times to let them know I had arrived and that frustrated me a lot. Also, they have parking for pickups, but the people who were parked there had left their cars. This was frustrating because I had to circle around while waiting for my purchase. I am writing this review with the saddest heart. My rescue pup has been going to PetSmart grooming for 12 years. Today we were told by Laura at the grooming center that she would be adding a remark to her account not to accept her for grooming anymore. Why? "she is too stressed to get groomed". She heard her panting over the counter and did a 30 sec pet assement at the counter. I explained that she is always nervous before her appt. She said but she has been sent home in the past. Yes, 6 years ago and at that time the groomer was kind, she made a plan she started with express appointments slowly she moved to regular appointments, and then she started to enjoy her "spa days" once she is over the initial nervousness of being at the groomers. I offered to stay for the length of the appointment if she seems to not do well I will take her home. " No". She is too old to go through the grooming, considering her age we can not take her! so after patronage of 12 years, she is TOO OLD. I asked her aren't you experts so you should be able to offer her the support she needs as another groomer in the past did? No. Her suggestion find a vet that offers grooming services?!? Just like that they dropped her from service and made sure another kind groomer wont be able help her as one did in the past. She informed me that she would be adding to her account to never accept her in the future. I am still experiencing disbelief. When I adpoted her she was a scared abused pup and yes after 13 years she still carries that weight but she has made it through a lot, more than any challenge a grooming session can present. While leaving she made a comment " oh, see she hit her pet in that face with the door!" from your perspective it may have looked that way but it did not happen. Just like your incorrect skewed perspective about the whole situation. She judged me, she judged my pup. Shame on you! read more

The girl in the fish section would not sell me x6 neons and x3 otocinclus saying a 35g tank is too small. I told her it would be fine and she tried to only give me x3 neons. I told her i asked for 6 and again she says she doesnt recommend it then tells says because im getting so many that i have to waive my right to a warranty. I tell her thats fine and she gets the fish. She then walks me to the register and rings me out herself. She doenst give me a receipt saying that they don't give receipts on final sales. I didnt notice until i got home that she only gave me x5 neons and x3 ottos. Horrible service. Will never go back to this branch again read more

This review is strictly for the pet Grooming. I scheduled an appointment for haircut, bath, nail clip, etc. for a 9 am appointment. I showed up with my poodle and gave idea of the haircut I would like to have my puppy. The person I talked to (I believe Janese) seems not only understand, but she informed me that she shows how to give hair do to a poodle and she mentioned that this may take about 2-3 hours. I completed the paper work and left my puppy about 9:15 am, or later. At about 10:15 am I was got an email, that my puppy was ready for pick up. I went to pick up my puppy, just to find out that all including head were cut short and equal and does not fit any type of Poodle hair cut and of course the legs and nails were NOT done properly. When I asked 'how come', the response was that she made it easier to for me to care less.... Got shocked, but controlled my my self, paid $ 80 including tip for the groomer, and left. I wish PetSmart assigns people who have proper training, experience and also not claim what they do not know how to do. Now I am waiting for my puppy hair to grow for another professional person to get Poodle hair cut. Yes, I am disappointed at the service and do not plan to go back for grooming. Thanks. read more

Wow! I took my puppy here for thee first time at the groomers, and I must say, LITA is an all-star! She listened to what I wanted for my puppy hair cut & kept his hairr nice and long! I'm so glad I chose to make an appointment with her for the first time! I was definitely nervous! I did not knw that they accept tips, so I came back 10 mins later and gave Lita a 20$ bill for dealing with my hyper puppy lol.
