Stopped in today to pick up a Christmas present for a friend's cat. I found what I was looking for but in addition they had cat treats on sale so I picked some up to go along with it. The sign stated buy 4 get 2 free and when I arrived at the register they did not ring up this way so the manager arrived and with his help was able to establish that I had picked up two kitten packs. He immediately brought me two eligible packages and the transaction was completed. Kudos to the cashier and manager. We brought out Chow Chow into the grooming service on Sunday and was assisted by Dru. He did a phenomenal job making her feel comfortable before taking her back. We then left and returned a few hours later and was pleasantly shocked by how well he groomed her. He knows his craft and it showed. Chow Chows can be difficult because of how much fluff they have. Horrible groomers. They said their shavers weren't sharp enough to cut through my cat's fur. My Maine Coon looked mangled and ridiculous. It was bad enough that their equipment failed to meet the needs, and even that my Coon looked ridiculous, BUT SHE CHARGED ME!!! She said, "I'm only going to charge you $25." It was almost laughable. ONLY? Gee, thanks, you mangled my cat because your equipment is Chinese junk, but you'll only charge me $25!...Never go to this place again. We took our small dog to PetSmart at 6251 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32504 last week. We paid $30 to have our cockapoo's nails trimmed, but as far as we can tell nothing was done. The female employee evidently was new and afraid to cut the dog's nails. Whatever the reason, she did a poor job. Our dog's nails appear just as long, and feel just as sharp, as before we brought her into PetSmart. We won't be going back again! read more

The store has everything you would need for all the animals and they also offer dog training that we are thinking about doing. I also booked an appointment next door to get annual dog shots. I went to the grooming section and booked a Bath & Brush to include nails and ear cleaning and all that appointment for my American bulldog mix dog for the next day. We got there the next day and had to wait a bit to go inside because they were very busy and there was a lot of other dogs coming in and out. I walked around the store looking at the other animals and stuff with my son and went to nearby stores while we waited. My dog was ready 3 hours later and they brought her out she seemed very calm and happy. She is normally really sweet and very well behaved but not sure about how she is around other dogs without me. She looked and smelled clean. The lady said she couldn't cut her nails because she kept moving too much which is understandable she does that with me too. I looked in her ears and they weren't cleaned at all and asked if they did that and she said yes and showed them and she said she must have forgotten and brought her up and wiped her ears out really fast. Not sure if she was brushed at all or any of the other stuff it says they do and not sure what this extra summer package charge is I didn't ask for but whatever. I have never received a dog bandanna though. Everyone working there was professional and kind. Overall she smelled clean and seemed happy and not stressed out so I was happy and will be coming back. read more

What a great Petsmart! The employees here are very helpful & sweet! My kitty "Skipper" is a IAMS kitty! He loves the one in the orange bag with Salmon! Even the kitty on the bag looks like him! Lol Except my precious little baby I rescued from the brink of death, is missing a foot. Adopted as a baby, we didn't even know if he was going to make it poor little guy. But, with all the love in my heart I have to give, he survived. Not only survived, he blossomed. The Power of love is a force to be reckoned with indeed. So, we feed Skippers Iams. He especially loves the one with salmon & is vibrant, strong & Healthy! He's just like any other cat! He even climbs trees chasing squirrels! Lol He has grown into a beautiful big Tommy with a beautiful dense golden ginger coat of fur all the neighborhood felines are jelly over. Surprisingly, I can't find the IAMS with salmon anywhere, so I called here & "Micah" was so sweet & helpful, located the last bag & held it for me precious pirate kitty, The Skippers! I took my puppy who is small, to begin with just to get her nails trimmed to PetSmart NEVER again after they used a CHOKE collar on her it was only her second time there because the first, and that was fine. We dropped our dog off at 1030 AM as agreed, met with Cassandra, the groomer, who agreed that the dog would require a complete shearing. Cassandra told us she thought she could save most of the tail and some of the top of his head, but the rest would be a full shear due to the length of the coat and the depth of the matts. At no time did Cassandra indicate there was any potential that she would be unable to shear the animal. At 2:30 PM we received a call from Pet Smart indicating they had been attempting to work on our dog for the past 30 minutes and discovered they could not groom our dog. Upon arrival we were handed our pet with his neck sheared with mats of cut hair hanging from his coat and head by a groomer we had never met. We were never told there was the potential they could not complete the grooming. Our dog needlessly sat in a cage for 3 hours. We were not given any reasonable explanation why they are unable to groom our dog. They made no attempt to minimize the damage by trimming up the areas they cut. And the groomer in question, Casandra, did not have the common courtesy to meet us to explain the situation and apologize. read more

Was very disappointed by my fur babies groom this time. First off i told the girl specifically not to touch her top knot( which she did) . Secondly she was trimmed way too short. I was given the excuse that the inside of her leg was matted so they trimmed her ENTIRE body shorter than I wanted(I call Bs). We throughly brushed her the night before, and also at check in when they girl did her inspection she said she felt perfect. My fur baby also came home with patches of fur gone on her chest. I would give 0 stars if I could. I wish I got the girls name because I was really looking forward to my appointment. I made an appointment several days ago and I called to confirm Gingers Appointment beforehand. I drove an hour to have her groomed and when I got there was told it's petsmart policy that if the dog walks in with a muzzle then they can't groom them. There was a very small yappy black dog that was barking constantly and trying to bite everyone that walked by and they took that dog back to be groomed. I have a 6 year old ESA Golden doodle. She was sitting and being calm the entire time. I make her wear a muzzle in public in case another dog snaps at her and she snaps back since she's so big she would always be to blame. I sent my mom this picture right before this happen. The muzzle is solely for her protection! I have never in my life heard of this or been treated this way! read more

Went in advance and spoke with groomer personally, explaining our 12year old shihtzu was scared every time he is groomed using the same wagon groomer for 12 years. The Pet Smart groomer told me to make an appointment with them for 7:00 a.m. so no other dogs would be there, and that for an extra 15.00 I would have express service. She also told me I need to bring an email proving dog was up to date on rabies shot. I did all of the above, and when I go there at 7:00 a.m. I was not only told the email containing all my dog's vaccinations was not sufficient, bu there were already two other dogs there. they said I should leave and come back after they call vet when they open an hour later. I said there was no way I was coming back after all those lies and I would recommend nobody ever goes there. read more

Our fur babies mean so much to my husband and me. You will see in the pictures, which we showed the PetSmart Groomers, what they did last time and what we asked for again when taking our doggo in today (Thursday, 5/4/2023). As always the groomers were pleasant, but pleasantry does not get the job done, and who knows how pleasant they are once we leave. We dropped her off at 7am and received a call at 11am, expecting it to be the call that she was done and to come pick her up. Instead they said we needed to come pick her up because she was being too challenging to work with and would not stop moving. You will see in the last 5 pictures I uploaded what we walked into: still partially wet, clippers taken to her golden fur (which you can clearly see clippers were not used on her butt), and what looked like no attempt at what was asked. On their website they say "It takes a special set of skills to help pets look and feel their best. At PetSmart, our professional Pet Stylists can do just that." I'm not sure if their standards have changed, but our doggo did not look or feel her best. Avoid dog grooming here at all costs! Absolutely horrendous customer service and they're so rude! I usually go to a local lady but she was fully booked. Pet Smart was unable to cut both dogs nails (11lbs) because they were aggressive and kept biting her!! (None of them have EVER bitten anyone before in their 4.5 years!!). At checkout, she changed their breed because their fur was 'thicker' than a Maltese! The vet and every other groomer has never had a problem or mentioned they weren't the breed listed. This Is truly an amazing place. Had my dog scheduled here a couple of months ago. It was busy and a bit hectic during her stay. Overall not a bad grooming job, and I actually gave the girl a 40.00 tip for a 60.00 service as she seemed to handle our pet with care. I am always one to pay forward when it comes to these service. Now let's fast forward a couple of months. Had an appointment set for a Sunday morning at 0800. Was a bit behind schedule as our daughter had to spend the night in the hospital Saturday night. So I roll in at 0815 and am told that we can't be seen that day and would have to reschedule. I am guessing my tip was not enough to warrant a courtesy call before 0815 and that they receive such great reviews that I am irrelevant in their loyalty boasting web site. Maybe a 50.00 dollar tip will get you a better position with these groomers, but yet I doubt they even know how to manage customer loyalty even though the Petsmart web site boasts nothing but loyalt. I would never take my pet here again and I would highly discourage anyone from expecting customer loyalty from Petsmart. Stupid business people. Sad for them as I could have been one of their best advocates. read more

Cleanliness and bathroom of the store has improved. But are employees of this place wondering why there are so many poor reviews? The inventory is decent. Prices are high compared to other places but not terribly so depending on what you are buying. Another customer posits that the awards program (perks) are paltry. I agree. But, the reward programs of -all- pet stores are pretty lame. There have been recent changes to the veterinarian staff of their Banfield services. Some customers have complained about mistreatment of their pets (agressive handling and the like). I do like the new vets as they seem to be more friendly and considerate. ESPECIALLY NICE was my last visit when, before my next visit, the vet thought to let me know what the cost of my -next- visit would be (anticipating needs we had discussed). I was able to budget for it and it was no problem. Very nice. Some customers have also complained about the poor treatment of their pets in the grooming area. There have been staff changes there recently. Only time will tell if it has improved but they have never mistreated my dog. I do wish they would upgrade their computer system though. Every time I return, they ask me for rabies documentation because they cant find it in their system despite me showing it to them every time. Not 5 stars. Make improvements. read more

If you are taking your dog grooming here, DONT!!!!! The absolute worst experience. I took my dog here 2 times in hopes of just possibly having 1 not so great experience, but I was wrong. The service is just mind blowing RUDE! My dog has never had a problem EVER at 2 other groomers, but unfortunately 1 closed permanently & the other closed due to COVID circumstances. With that being said...I had to settle for Petsmart's awful service. As mentioned previously my dog has NEVER showed signs of aggression besides a harmless moan/growl (no teeth ever showing) just to show dominance when presented to someone new (as informed by his vet). With all of that being said when I dropped my dog off (he is 8lbs I might ad), the groomer looked terrified to grab him even when I explained the circumstances so another person took him in & he was fine. I did mention in his file & in person that my dog has anxiety (aka you may need to sooth him & be patient with him)...yea don't think that happened. After an hour & a half after dropping him off I receive a call saying that his matting on his belly is too difficult to get out (no other groomer has had this issue & he often matts there) so they will need to shave him down so I just said fine. No clue why it took an hour & a half for them to even start if I had an appointment! But anyway...4hrs later I receive a very rude & aggressive phone call stating his service will be discontinued...due to aggressive biting! I was absolutely mind blown, but tried to stay calm as her tone was not welcoming to a conversation. When I walked in to get him other groomers were laughing & being very rude talking about my dog. It was very off putting to me & rude! I was informed only the problem area (his belly) was not done, all of his other shaving on his body was soooo patchy & his face still had dirt on it as it seems like they were just going to shave it instead of cleaning his face. He did not have a fresh smell what so ever! Overall, my dog is traumatized after the last 2 experiences & I suggest you not put your little ones through this! read more

Had to take my fur baby here while visiting family and what a mistake!! Customer Service was lacking all around but whatever!!!! My problem was I went to pick him up from being groomed and HE STUNK!!! His coat looked frizzy and dry. I think they did his anal glands as I waited for them to bring him out to me. As I asked the lady up front if they did them and she said they should have! So the guy in the back must have heard her and did it really quick because he smelled just like anal glands do!! I got him to the car for inspection and took a Clorox wipe to him and it was a light brown once I wiped him!!! YUCK!! I was wore out, tired and just wanted to get home it I would have went back in there. I think I will call tomorrow now that I think about it. To me that was ridiculous!!!! It was a 30$ bath. I scheduled my mom dog appointment, the employee tells me the dog needs a rabies shot so she gets one ... the employee doesn't say anything about , the dogs needs to wait 48 hours so I came up once had to reschedule due to 48hr wait.... then we drop the dog off next time and they call and say that we have to wait at the store because the dog is in heat so we have to drive back up again after we already home .... and wait .... didn't mention anything about the heat thing either and that stated it was policy.... and ... told the manger my mom cannot walk ask the manger if I can pay early and if they could bring the dog to car ... stated no due to policy . We doesn't open to 9am... I'm extremely unhappy with the service. Will not be coming back here unprofessional, lack of humanity lack of communication... it is probably in the policy too. read more

Grooming...they do a nice job and take walk-ins, as long as you can show the shots are up to date and you're in a data-base, blah blah blah... $10 for a nail trim?! I can go to a mom/pop place for 1/2 the cost and served by a real 'animal lover' rather than someone semi-interested. I have a Pet-Perks card, but I'm not really feeling any 'perks.' They are, because they have my information and mailing address though. The Docs from Banfield seem to try. In other cities, they seem to be able to perform the annual check-ups in a less traumatic way. Here, they seem to insist on all the usual invasive/stressful stuff, then lock them up for half a day "for observation." Hard to tell if they are recommending treatment for profit or health reasons. I think I would take our dog to a 'real' vet for emergencies. They do have the best selection of dog 'stuff' and food in town. The clerk staff is always courteous, helpful, and cheerful. read more

Wow, where to begin. I'll start off with a little about my pup - B is an extremely sweet, cooperative 6 month old golden retriever puppy. He's been groomed prior at salons and has also been bathed a blow dried numerous times at home with no issue. Well, a few days ago my husband and I decided it was time for another professional grooming for B and ultimately chose some place new, PetSmart, as with their bathe and brush package they offered an additional sanitary trim, a pad "buffing", and a paw fur trim which were all things B really needed done. I went onto their website and booked an appointment for the next day. When my husband took B in for his appointment the staff told him the site had been having issues and there was no appointment made so they would not take him at that time. They immediately followed with "Did you even bring his Rabies paperwork? If you'd actually booked an appointment like you say you did then you'd know he has to have the paperwork. " My husband let them know he did not book the appointment but I, his wife, had (I was remiss in telling him I'd placed the paperwork in his glove box and he would need it but he called me and I told him where the paperwork was.) This was frustrating enough but mistakes happen and people have off days so we let it go. We scheduled an appointment for two days later and called to verify. That appointment was today. My husband took B in for his appointment which was just for the bath and brush with a nail buffing added on, no haircut. My husband was told the appointment would take 2-3 hours which is double the time that other salons have taken BUT this was with the additional sani trim, paw trim, and nail buff so we figured maybe that was the reason. Three hours later we hadn't heard anything and my husband had a prior engagement coming up so he stopped by the salon. When he arrived he was told B "didn't care for the blow dryer" so it was taking longer. The other salons have said he behaved so well and I've never had an issue blow drying him myself. He tucks/turns his head away from the dryer some if you get near his face but otherwise he sits perfectly still. Well, because he "didn't care for the blow dryer" they simply placed him in a cage wet and let him air dry. My husband was told it would be another 30-45 minutes at least because of this. My husband went over to watch them brushing B and he was shaking tremendously. Neither of us have ever seen him shake before whether nervous or cold or whatever the reason may be. 5 minutes went by and they brought B out. No sani trim, no pad trim, no nail "buffing". When my husband asked about the sani trim the employee said "Oh, I didn't know you wanted that done." Then when he asked about the pad buffing she said they didn't "buff" pads, they just applied a balm. That's fine in and of itself but why state in your description that they will receive a pad "buffing". The other salons offer pad balm - it was the buffing we were interested in as we'd not heard of other salons doing this and his pads get pretty rough. To top it off, one brush of his side and fur is just flying absolutely everywhere. We live maybe 10 minutes from the store and when my husband brought B home, he ran as fast as he could to his water bowl and began drinking like he hadn't had any water in days then went to his kennel where he cowered up in the corner. I will give the positives as I feel that's only fair - B does smell/look very nice and they did trim/buff his nails as asked/paid for. They did provide the sani trim once asked as well. Regardless, we definitely will not be returning and I recommend against using this salon. read more

Great place if you need a one-stop shop with your pet! They have a veterinarian inside, everything you could possibly need for your pets and they offer obedience classes. The staff is VERY helpful. Their prices though... ouch! They have a machine by the door where you can get a tag engraved with your pet's name, address and number. Very nice! read more

I brought my dog Kai to petsmart to have him groomed. When I picked him up i noticed him licking his tail. When I checked it is found that the tip of his tail had been clipped and cut off. I immediately called the store to let them know what happened . They said to bring him to the store vet the next day. When I brought him in they suggested that his tail had been caught in a door and that's why it was cut off. I can tell you it was not ! My dog was injured in the care of Petsmart. Never trust them with your dog ! They tried to cover their own ass by making up a reason other than telling the truth. They even said that his tail was never groomed which it indeed was !!!! I had taken my dog to the doggie park and doggie beach the other day and thought I would stop in and see if I could get her groomed since I no longer groom or have my supplies. So I walk in and ask if they had any appointments avaliable for that day or the weekend. They quickly said no we have nothing until Monday which made me very uncomfortable by their attuides as if I was bothering them by bringing my dog in that was dirty. When I worked there we always tried to fit our pets in even if we just did a bath. Or a face feet and Fannie but they didn't offer anything to me. We always came into the lobby area and put our hands on the pet. There were 3 people there two were doing nails on a pet another was just standing there. No one looked at the schedule to see if there was any available appointments. As I said before all they said not till Monday. So I walked over to the grooming supplies and bought what I needed and I will not return back to the store again. read more

PetSmart is a great place for cat or dog owners. The store is clean and well stocked. There is a wide variety of products to choose from at reasonable prices. However, as a canary breeder, I have never cared for the way they market their birds. The cages are clean, but there is always too much seed and millet. I have hens (canary and finch) laying in the cages and the eggs being removed. This leads to continuous laying, which is not at all healthy for the hens. I would never buy a canary hen from them for that reason. read more

We've always loved Petsmart for their Grooming department and Banfield. Unfortunately we've had a very terrible experience with their Guinea Pigs and all dying within a short time of purchase. One within just days.. after notifying their Manager on duty, she was very non-chalant saying all of their guinea pigs are "Vet Checked". Pneumonia is very contagious and can be in their system for weeks before it's noticed. The Manager didn't even say she was sorry. Let me set the scene. My girls & I arrive to pet smart wanting to adopt a cat, ready to spend as much money as possible. We walk in all happy and friendly ready to see some cats. None of the workers greet us, so we have to initiate what we wish to do which is mingle with a cat. The worker we pick was a cunty boomer and and said it was too late to play with a cat...it was only 7:30pm and they closed at 9pm, not really sure how it was too late but ok....she said we could go in the back and poke our fingers thru the jail bars, so we do. The lady then informs us to hurry the fuck up because she has the flu and is allergic to cats...like why is she even at work sick and why does she work there if she's allergic to cats???? Then after we obviously fall in love with one she demolishes our dreams by telling us we aren't even old enough to adopt a cat and since we all just moved here we don't have any family to help us. We are 18 and all places (like pet super market) let 18 year olds adopt so it's kind of mean she told us that after we already fell in love. It's also a dumbass rule that 18 year olds can't adopt but whatever I hope they sHut down due to Health issues. read more
