My friend, Pat, needed to visit an eye surgeon in Edmond, OK, on November 15. Therefore, she contacted this PetSmart location to set up grooming appointments for her two dogs so they would be groomed while she met with her surgeon about 6 miles away. Pat called on November 13 to confirm the appointments. When we arrived shortly before 10 a.m. on November 15, she was told they could find no record of any appointments. Furthermore, although Pat had been taking her dogs to PetSmart to be groomed for over a decade, her PetSmart account had disappeared. The employee tried to locate her in the computer by using her name, dog names, current cell phone number and previous cell phone number, but to no avail. It took about 50 minutes to recreate her account and book an appointment at 12:30. We were told the dogs would be washed and dried prior to the grooming, and this would give them some time to be less nervous prior to the grooming. Also, we were told they would call Pat when the dogs were ready. Pat indicated he had a doctor appointment and errands to run, so that would be fine. By the time Pat met with her surgeon, had lunch, and visited Sam's Club, it was about 2:30 and we still hadn't heard from PetSmart. We called to see if the dogs were ready. Pat was told they were almost ready, so we went back to pay and pick up the dogs. When we arrived, a different employee/groomer said the dogs wouldn't be ready until 5:30 or 6:00 pm. We reminded them our appointment was supposed to have been at 10 a.m. One of the groomers tried to convince us they had found Pat's appointment in the system and it was really booked for next Monday, so we must have misunderstood. Since we live 108 miles away, there was no possibility she booked it on a different day than her doctor visit. The first employee also confirmed she remembered setting it up for today. The fee for both dogs with baths and grooming was supposed to be $122. When we didn't want to wait around 3 more hours for the grooming, much less leave them in the crates any longer, PetSmart was "only" going to charge $74 for the two baths. We spoke with two managers about all of the mixups on the schedule, One left to talk to the employees. Then the other manager did so. The second manager claimed he had seen evidence in the computer of an appointment scheduled for next Monday, and he would be happy to print it off for us. I told him if it was really there, then it was because someone had changed it in the system, because Pat's account wasn't even found earlier that day. Yes, go print it, I told him. He went back into the grooming office and was in the process of telling one of the employees to change the date of her appointment to November 26 before she printed it, right as Pat walked in and overheard him. She refused to pay anything for the dog baths and demanded her dogs back. The manager told Pat to leave and never come back. She said next time she'd take her dogs to Shawnee PetSmart. He retorted with a threat that he would call the Shawnee location and ask them to deny services because she was trying to get out of paying for their services. There were more words between them, but you get the idea. Talk about a dreadful grooming experience! P.S. As we stood there, another customer shared a similar story of having an appointment that kept getting moved back until he just asked to get his dogs back. Dog owners, beware. If they don't return your dogs on time or lose the appointment, you'll hear it's YOUR fault. We were even told they were so busy because "it's the holidays." Really? read more

I called on Monday to schedule a bath&brush, with the holiday special, and deshedding for Thursday at 12:30. I went in a few minutes before that on Thursday and was told I don't have an appointment. I left, called the store the manager remembered talking to me on the phone and said since it was their fault they'd have it on the house when I went back in. I asked if I could at least just get my dogs nails trimmed for that day and they agreed. I took him back in and the lady told me she's just stay later to get his full grooming in that day. Since it was gonna be done that day I told them it didn't have to be on the house since I had already planned on spending that money and they were able to squeeze him in, everything was still on the house. They didn't have to make time for him and they didn't have to cover the cost but they did! My boy is looking, feeling, and smelling so much better! Thank you guys! Been taking my dog here for grooming since she was a puppy (about 1 year now) and had okay experiences until the past 3 months, there were new groomers that were rude and had me reschedule 2-3 times in the week due to needing to take off work earlier or doing other things and not being able to take my appointment even after I had scheduled it 1-2 weeks in advance. This happened regularly, they would call and ask to bring my dog in as early as I can so I said would 11:30am work? They said yes and then called me at 11am and said no it wouldn't work, had me reschedule to another day and then did the same thing again! This week they had me rescheduled twice and when I brought my dog in for her grooming appointment today, they said they did not want to work with us anymore because she is hard to groom whenever none of the previous groomers ever said anything about her behavior. I have two huskies I bring them in every three weeks maybe sometimes will go a little longer. They always come out sparkling clean and ready to go. I took them both in yesterday to get a bath and good brush. I always do the furminator plus package. First of all I've never really cared when I hear employees constantly complaining because sometimes we all have bad days. This was the worst I've ever heard them talk normally they will laugh it off. I could tell these people were not happy. They weren't really rude at all but everyone was clearly miserable. I dropped them off at 1:30 normally they get them done really quickly. I told them I couldn't pick up till after 5. They said it was fine! Normally after I pick up my dogs they barley shed and they smell amazing. Not yesterday. It was my fault for not noticing it sooner they were shedding even worse then when I brought them off. They smelled like literal feces. They didn't say they had any accidents so I'm not sure what happened . But it is very obvious that they were not brushed or blown out. I call to see what we could do and I was hung up on. Just not okay. I even tipped the girl before I left. I come in all the time and I'm just not understanding why I paid all that money for them to come out worse then when I took them in. Updated: After look over my male I Started looking over my female and notice her ear is bleeding. She has a bunch of dry blood and I tried to look at her ear as close as she would let me but she cries when I touch it. Her ear was not like this before she went in. I looks like some sort of cut on the inside of her ear. I got a moment to call back in today and they told me someone would reach out tomorrow. Hopefully someone does. This isn't my normal PetSmart since I usually go to 63rd and May. But, we stopped in here the other day to buy dry dog food and I realized I'd never reviewed it. We've never had an animal groomed here, but we run in for time to time to get doggie food and treats. The staff here is always nice, and they have everything we need. We feed our dogs Nutro dry and wet food, and they always have the sizes we need. I try to come when the wet food is on sale for $1 per serving. We also sometimes get Puperonis and Milkbones here, though recently I've put that stuff on auto ship with Amazon. I'd probably have more to say if we used more of the services here like vet or grooming, but for what we need, we're always able to get it taken care of here! read more

This a the worst pet store ever! We bought a turtle from this place not long ago and we got charged and wanted a red slider turtle but the turtle we got was a painted turtle and we had to point out it was most definitely not the turtle we wanted or was promised they had. The guy working with the turtle told us as big of a tank we needed was a 20 gallon but we knew we needed a bigger tank due to us oblivious doing research before hand! After taking the turtle home a well after having it we were cleaning the turtle and not even joking leeches start to come out of the turtle onto his shell and I called and they said it's okay! It's not okay at all! We have a 4 month old son who we got the turtle for and exactly how long was this turtle being feed on? We have no idea and we know for sure the turtle came like that! After taking all leeches off the turtle is is very weak and need to be treated and so petsmart is taking the turtle from us without us wanting them too. There's no more turtle for us! This is completely wrong in all parts! We will no longer be going to petsmart for any kind or animal and are sad to get our turtle taken away from us because of their mistakes! This was our baby boys first pet and due to petsmart we are on the look for a new turtle! read more

The one I bought was at a decent level but still pretty dirty . I take my Golden Retriever here to get groomed about every 6 weeks. It's a good value, I try to book with the same groomer. My girl prances thru the store after grooming like she's a Princess LOL! I do question on if they really do the add on's that I ask for because she looks the same every time...like if I pay for extra conditioner or nail grind vs nail trim. But she's happy afterwards and looks pretty so I guess she's ok. I like the pawgress report. read more

This is the place for crickets. .. Yes we buy crickets from Petsmart. Sometimes it takes forever to get help in the area, but if you can catch someone's eye, they get right on it. Everyone seems really helpful. I prefer the location off I-40, but I am usually in this area more and stop in for Gecko food. read more

I took my puppy here for a free grooming session and it was a pretty bad experience. My appointment was for 1:00 and I didn't leave until 4. My puppy didn't get half of the stuff on the coupon, no spritz, no bandana, nothin. It takes an act of God and Congress to catch a good experience here. I ALWAYS call ahead because I get crickets and it takes time. That way I'm not holding up the line but not waiting forever, either. After time and time again paying for 100-200 crickets here but only getting 2/3 or half that, i had been going to another pet store. I had to go back because the other place was out. So I called ahead- good start- nice lady- she would have them ready for me. Arrived 17 minutes later. No one knows what I'm talking about. Confirmed the phone number, too. So, the young lady, Kendra, proceeds to scoop at least 200 crickets into the tube. But then she puts a small plastic bag over it, and proceeds with helping 4/5 customers for about 20 minutes. I wasn't too concerned with the wait- but crickets are fragile and the bag was gathering a lot of condensation. The crickets were suffocating and crushing each other. Then she wants to put 175 of those crickets in one very small bag. She kept squeezing the bag where the half dead crickets were. I'm already concerned they are half dead from being kept in the tube suffocating each other for 20 minutes. So I tell her I'm worried about their viability in the small bag. I'm trying to not just call her out for being ridiculously untrained. But.... Instead of splitting them up into two bags like an intelligent, reasonable person, she pours them all back out in the cricket tub. I didn't have another 30 minutes of my life to waste today so I left. Someone please train her. And for the love of all things holy, have your staff stop suggesting large crickets when people ask for smalls. The large crickets can choke small lizards and frogs. read more

Looks like we're going to start taking our dog to a different groomer. His appointment was at 12:30, & they're saying he won't be ready until 6. Petsmart took care of later appointments before him when he was scheduled earlier. They actually admitted to putting his appointment on hold for walkins. Since when is a walkin more important than the customer who took the time to schedule their appointment? That means he sat in a kennel for at least 4 hours before they started on him. He hasn't been out to use the bathroom since we dropped him off. Yet they still expect to charge us $70+. A grooming appointment should NEVER take 5.5 hours. If they see this as ok & say it's normal, than that's not who I want taking care of my pets. This has become an every visit struggle, & their blatant negligence for the animals in their care makes me sick. I've been getting my dog groomed at Petsmart for nearly 7 years, but if this has become Petsmart's practice than I will NEVER be bringing him back. The manager actually told us it was fine because the groomer was new! I don't know in what world that makes their blatant disregard for the animals in their care ok! This store makes me sick. The employees make me sick. The manager clearly doesn't manage. Thanks to this store & it's employees the Petsmart franchise as a whole makes my skin crawl. I think Petsmart needs to reevaluate their practices, & the people they employ in their facilities. read more
