Leo, After Pet Smart service.
Macklin D.

All went well, they gave tips for grooming, it was my first time, I took my daughter's pet. I didn't know that the pet gets nervous, or that when you make your appointment mines at 8am and they're there for 4 hours picked up at 12pm. I learned that there is a different detangle comb used for the ears and tail to avoid matting. A different brush for the rest of the body but the same detangle product for both. What to use and why. It was educational for me. First time having a pet in my personal space and I actually like it.

This is after I saw my dog and told Petsmart they needed to fix her hair

The store is great, it's like a Walmart for pet's. Now I don't know anybody getting their hair done at the Walmart salon for some odd reason...and I feel the same about the per smart groomers. I've given pet smart multiple chances with my dog at multiple locations and I've been very disappointed each and every time.

My doggo is a regular at the doggy day camp. My most recent visit had Antonio checking us in. He remembered my dog's name, and was super excited to see her. He was extremely sweet and helpful and super gracious when my brain glitched. He asked me a question about her food and I literally forgot what words were. Antonio and his cohorts always make me feel valued and welcome.

The Doggy Day Camp at PetSmart on N.5th us great! They took care of our two timid Bernese Mtn Dog/Springer Spaniel/Australian Sherpherd mix sisters. The staff have taught them to come out of their shells and show off their personalities. They fur kids have made new dog friends. The staff is incredible there and are very loving of our dogs. We bring them snacks so they have throughout their day because they too are thoughtful when we drop off and pick up our two fur kids. On special theme days we get amazing and funny photos which I will attach Your fur kids will be in AMAZING hands. Thank you all at PetSmart on N. 5th! Also, check out their reviews on Google

Honestly the store itself is absolutely great, I love the front of house staff. Always ask how I'm doing and will assist when needing help. The issue is the grooming area... We took our sweet boy in for his first ever haircut and it all went horribly wrong. The second we walked in we got told that we don't know how to brush his hair properly.. Then they decide to tell me my dog is a golden doodle not a cavapoo. I honestly was in shock by the amount of disrespect these lady's got. In the end his first haircut was a disaster and he definitely looks like he stuck a fork into an electric socket. Definitely not welcoming for a puppy.

Lack of cleanliness/unsanitary

I have a dog and 2 cats and I love PetSmart for all their food and supplies, however whoever is the district manager or corporate manager in charge is doing a poor job with checking in with this Nth 5th location. I feel bad for the employees who have to deal with this women's bathroom all the time. Please get someone to take care of this, especially after COVID this is a shame that the bathroom is in this condition. I've lived in this side of town since 2018 but I will go out of my way to use a different store when I can or will order off of Chewy when I get coupons because I can't trust this location due it's lack of cleanliness.

I love this PetSmart. They are always so helpful and willing to answer questions if you have any regarding anything in the store. The store is always stocked and well organized. My Giovanni has really bad allergies so he needs specific dog food and they always have it there.

Tired after playing.

My little dog Willow just spent 25 days with her while we were out of town for a summer vacation and I just cannot say enough good things about Rhonda! I was incredibly anxious about leaving my dog because we rescued her less than a year ago, she has a lot of anxiety and fear, and we'd never left her before. I actually cried when I dropped her off! Rhonda was so caring and loving - she totally understood my difficulty and assured me that Willow would be okay. She kept in touch with me the whole time, sending lots of adorable photos and videos. Willow actually blossomed while she was there. She became more socialized with both other dogs and her new human friends. She's a new dog! Rhonda even bathed her before I picked her up so she was smelling sweet. I will never take Willow anywhere else for boarding, and I will recommend Rhonda to all my pet-owning friends!! THANK YOU RHONDA!!! Check out my photos - there's Willow's first day, and the other one is just four days later. Look at how transformed Willow became in just a few days! Rhonda is truly gifted. They do a great job keeping pet parents informed and will reach out if they notice anything out of the ordinary, even something as minor as an upset stomach. I really appreciate knowing that they're paying attention and that my border collie isn't just another dog in the yard. I also want to give a special shout-out to managers Aurora and Stef. They've always been wonderful, helpful, and incredibly caring with my boy over the years. I personally appreciate the care BarxParx takes with assessments and safety. When you're trusting a facility with your dog, you want to know they're being thoughtful about which dogs are in the daycare environment and making everyone's safety a priority. She told me that all the staff did was scroll all day on the phones and while watching the webcams noticed that they tried to put her into the water when she didn't want to. For some reason, I was thinking she had gone to the other location but she must have gone to the Henderson one. So because of the great reviews and the way that it looks on the website, I thought that this would be a good location since it's more convenient than my dogs previous daycare since we just moved. The first thing that struck me as odd was this is the only time where I've actually been charged for an evaluation. Every daycare that we've been to, and we've been to about five of them around Las Vegas, gives you either a free day or a free 4 hours. So I was surprised that you have to pay $30 for a 4-Hour evaluation. Because it works both ways. You're evaluating my dog but I'm evaluating you. When I came in, there was just a lobby. I was asked to fill out some paperwork but I wasn't offered a tour or nobody explained anything about services. Honestly I forgot that there was even a pool in there. They said something about putting him in a kennel first to try out for boarding which I thought was a little bit weird. And then go into the play area for the other 2 hours. I did get a text midway through saying that he was keeping to himself but he had passed the temperament test. I thought that was weird because he loves dogs. I went to pick him up about 4 hours later than the first thing I noticed was now that it was 2:00 p.m., the place reeked. Most places have some kind of deodorizer or some type of even overpowering scent so you don't smell that. But it smelled like wet dog and urine. When I picked him up, they didn't say anything about how he had done, again nothing about services, nothing about going forward like nothing that you would expect from a typical daycare after an evaluation. Oftentimes you also get like a little report card in paper given to you. I did think when I picked him up he was a little bit weird like unfocused and strange but I was like OK maybe he played a lot or something and he's just a bit hyped. Again in the car he wasn't really focusing when I was talking to him. When I got him home, he wouldn't let me out of his sight. All he did was whine every time I left a room. Which is really unusual for him to the point that he needed to be crated. That's when I opened my email to look at the report card, which I'll attach a photo, said that he took a quick dive in the pool. I became so upset because he does not swim. He has never been near water, he would avoid any and all bodies of water. His breed does not swim at all. I had noticed that when I picked him up, his leash was wet. Which I thought why the hell would his leash be wet? I'm still confused why it's wet because why would a leash be anywhere near the pool. So I was already upset that they hadn't even asked me about whether he could go in or if he could even swim. And I kind of put two and two together and figure OK he had some kind of really bad experience here that now he's like clinging to me and whining. I also looked at the photos and he's off in a corner somewhere, totally hunched over. This is a dog who loves daycare and loves dogs but he clearly did not like this place. So I sent them back a text and said I don't appreciate that you put my dog in water and he would never do that voluntarily on you so you would have to have led him in. So they gave me this long text about how they would never do XYZ and I just sent them back a screenshot of the report card that said he was in the pool. A couple of things could have happened they just AI generate the report cards with a bunch of fluff or they lied. Either way, he had some kind of traumatizing experience here because he's still clinging to me tonight. This is not normal after daycare behavior for any dog. But now that I'm looking at the reviews I'm seeing similar comments. So here are some actual suggestions. If you just fill your report cards with AI fluff, you did so at your own demise, because any good dog owner would be greatly concerned that during an evaluation you put a dog near water without even talking to the owner about it. This staff clearly does not know about dog behavior, body language, or just common courtesy or sense. Update: 2 weeks later my dog now shakes uncontrollably before going into his old daycare. I don't know wtf they did, but this place needs investigated.

The staff does an incredible job caring for and watching over our dogs--they truly take pride in what they do. We've tried other doggie daycares in the past, and this one has been by far the best. Our pups are naturally very nervous and not big fans of people, but the team here has consistently gone above and beyond to build trust with them. Because of that patience and care, our dogs now look forward to their camp days, and we love being able to see them playing on the cameras. I feel completely comfortable recommending this place as a safe and caring environment for your pup. I know how difficult it can be to leave your babies in someone else's care, and this team truly puts our minds at ease. We genuinely enjoy this place and will continue to use their services.

I completely understand that they were nervous in a new environment, but throughout the day, I repeatedly saw them sitting in the corner alone on the camera. I also never saw them drink water or go outside. Around 4:30 PM, I called to check on them and was told they had not had any water or used the restroom. I was then told they would try giving them water from a bottle, which left me wondering why that wasn't addressed earlier, especially after nearly seven hours. I left work immediately and came in because I simply wanted to see my dogs and make sure they were okay. While I understand I was frustrated, I was disappointed that my concerns felt secondary to explaining the situation and collecting payment. I was looking for accountability and reassurance, not excuses. I truly feel my dogs had a very stressful experience, and unfortunately, I will not be returning. This isn't about the $73. I would gladly pay for quality care. It's about feeling like I paid $73 for my dogs to spend the day frightened, isolated, and without adequate attention to their basic needs. I genuinely wish the situation had been handled differently.

What I appreciated most were the updates, pictures, and communication throughout his stay, something many boarding facilities don't provide. We recently brought our pup Beary to Buddies on a recent trip out to Vegas and I gotta say, we were…read moreso happy with our decision to board him there! Originally, we had a reservation back home with our normal pet resort, but didn't want to be away from Beary for so long; We often have to drop him off a day before our trip and don't pick him up again until the day after we get back, so that's an extra two days without the little guy (and two extra days of boarding to boot). So we looked into the possibility of boarding him close to our hotel while we were in town. A family member sent us a recommendation to go to Buddies and my wife reached out to ask about vacancy for the weekend and the owners got back to us right away to let us know they would be able to take him in and walked her through the process of submitting all the necessary documentation and clearing him to stay. Our little guy is not fixed yet, so unfortunately, he was unable to be group boarded (which is typcial). Check-in was a breeze, and He had a nice large play area to have all to himself and was boarded in a private suite. They also took him out for a walk twice a day while he was there, as well as playtime with the staff constantly. What was really awesome was that they would send us pics of him during his walks, playtime, and before bedtime. It was really awesome to get the periodic updates...which really put us (especially the kids) at ease. And it was really reassuring to know he was close by to us. Staff was super nice and friendly. The consistent updates really made an enormous difference for us. Our usual resort does not do that...so that put them way above. They seemed to genuinely enjoy Beary's company. We would DEFINITELY bring him back here again on future trips (and that is more often than not) and I wish they were located close to home...or that we lived in Vegas so we could bring him more often...wishful thinking =p
