This PetSmart is a chain retail store that sells products for cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles, and other pets. Products include foods, medications, accessories, pet furniture, etcetera. I shopped in this store to purchase products for my cat, but I also walked through the entire store to evaluate their products for other animals. The shelves appeared to be fully stocked with products. Some of my cat's favorite flavors of wet food were in stock, and their prices were typical. Her dry food was also in stock but was priced higher than Chewy. Black Friday deals were being held, such as BOGO 50% off of cat litters. The fish tanks looked clean. Furthermore, this PetSmart offers services such as adoptions, a veterinarian, dog-training, and dog and cat grooming. I did not use these services, but I did look into them. The adoption center contained mostly empty cages, and I saw only one scared cat sleeping in its litter box. I hope that this cat gets adopted soon into a loving home. read more

Don't shop at this store. They have continually had bad feeders brought in and do NOTHING about it. I had 5 red belly piranhas that feed off there poisoned feeders and all died which is close to a $500 loss. I brought this to the store and manager and didn't care. They told me should have bought the feeders at Off the Hook in Ambridg. read more

Why is it so hard to talk to a veterinarian at PetSmart I need to make an appointment that there's no way to make an appointment what the heck this is crazy I can't even get store hours I can't even find out what it'll cost me so I know how much money to take with me when I take my cat there this is crazy read more

DON'T RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!! Came in to buy 2 snails and not a single employee around to help out. Went to the register, they said they would get someone to come over. The girl came over grabbed something by the fish tanks and walked away with no care to acknowledgement to us wanting to get some snails! She even looked right at us. Looks like the employees here need some customers service training or a job that doesn't require customer interaction!! read more

First off research "Pet Smart throws away live animals" on YouTube. The Pet Smart in Monaca, PA is just awful:( the girls in there (2 in particular that were working the registers the evening shift on August 2. They act like customers are such an inconvenience to them?? I'm not asking for anyone to roll out the red carpet, but nobody wants to deal with that crap. I would not even be in pet smart if we're not for my job requiring me to go in there-which makes getting treated like that all the worse because it's not my choice to be treated like that:( read more

They did a descent job in grooming. They took money off cause my dog was not as good as she hoped.

My little Shih Tzu mix, Harley, was groomed today by Nicolette at Petsmart in Monaca. She was extremely nice and caring and did a great job! All of the staff seemed very nice and it was a pleasant atmosphere as they were grooming dogs at each station. I will definitely be bringing Harley back, thank you again! Highly recommend read more

While the people were very friendly, I don't feel that my short haired medium sized dog received the services for which I paid. The online booking was easy enough, however I thought "Kimberly" was taking care of my dog. Funny how there was not a Kimberly to be found on the wall of pics of employees. Also, when booking I chose a $25 service, but when added to my cart it was suddenly $30. I thought a tip maybe. Whatever. They asked about nail grinding after clipping and I said yes. I requested flea and tick also. I asked about a time frame and was told 1.5 hours, no more than 2. At two hours, I went back to check on her and was told she didn't take to the nail grinding and that charge would be removed and she was still not dry because she didn't like the dryer and the crate dryer was not working for her. They also couldn't put on the flea and tick while wet. At 2.5 hours, after a text saying my dog was done, she was not. They tried the dryer on her again and I'm not sure where they dried her, but she was still wet, and not just the paws like they claimed. A bath and brush was also supposed to include paw shaving and trimming. Please check the pics of that for yourself. After 3 hours, my still damp dog with paws not done, and I, left with double the price I thought it was going to be. read more

I absolutely love bringing my miniature schnauzer to the PetSmart grooming. Go see Autumn if you want a friendly professional groomer who you know is going to do what needs to get done. She has been cutting my dogs hair for seven years now. I do not trust anyone else besides her to groom him. I'll wait a week if she's booked just to have her clean him up. Overall the store is nice, it's clean and friendly. I always get asked if I need help finding anything which is great they ask but don't hound you. Keep it up! I've done the online to in store pick up, and that has also worked out well for myself. read more

Just a lot of praise for laura, I've been taking my dog for about 7 years now to the grooming salon, my favorite groomer was Autumn, when I called to set appointment Autumn was no longer working there!!! Now What had to try a new groomer, Well I found Laura and what a blessing she also knew my dog which helped a lot. I have taken my dogs their since I moved back to Penna. Recently I wanted to take my dog for bath and grooming and was told he was to old at 14 years old???!!! I never saw a sign in there shop that said dogs over 14 are too old to be groomed in this shop. i read more

It's a nice store, but everything's way overpriced. We wanted to buy a sack of dog food for charity (a friend was holding a party that evening and wanted things to donate to an animal shelter) but left after realizing that we were getting gouged. They have everything you need, though. It's like Toys 'R Us for pets. You should have seen all the dogs walkin' around, happy and costumed. read more

It's a pet store that welcomes dogs. If a little hair is disturbing to you I feel bad for your pets. There are great varieties and I find prices comparable and sales good. I always see cute puppies to pet and the staff is helpful. If you are a pet lover it's a great store to pick up whatever you need. read more

I dont live in Beaver County anymore, but i used to come here to look at the whittle kitties all of the time after work. (I worked at a nearby department store) They have a nice selection of fish and other pets- guinea pigs, birds (I didn't see hamsters this last time, but my old hamster was purchased here) We went in this weekend to get my aunt's puppy's nails clipped. We went in with no appointment and they were done within 10min.. of course, we spent another 10 looking at kitties!! this location also has a dog training area that you can sign up for. There were a few tanks that had some deceased fish in them... for instance had like 4 in one tank. I felt that someone should've kept an eye on that area to avoid customers seeing dead fish. It might be a turn off bc maybe they arent healthy fish to invest in? idk! i wouldn't want to buy and set up a tank and then have 4 fish die in my tank.. just saying. read more

Was in here picking up cat food tonight and walked past the fish department. Absolutely horrible again. Almost every tank had dead fish stuck to the intake part of the filter, a lot that had lost all color and looked like they had been there a long time. This place is an embarrassment to the hobby, management should be ashamed. read more

We just had our dog, Muffin, groomed by the incredibly nice Rachel. She was very considerate and helped our nervous dog to have a calm process during her first grooming. By the end, Muffin looked gorgeous. read more

They do not take care of their animals for sale. The reptile cages are never cleaned. The last time I went in the bearded dragon tank floor was covered in feces. Having a bearded dragon myself, I know that they usually only poop once a day (if that) and it is of upmost importance to remove any feces from their tank as soon as possible to avoid bacteria. There should not be more piles of feces than number of animals in the tank at any given point of the day. Obviously, the same can be said about all animals. They should not be allowed to sell animals if they are not going to treat them right before selling them. read more

Not sure what the complaints are about but I have never had any issues with this location and have been going here for over 5 years now.

Went in to get flea/tick prevention treatment for my dog and not one employee, including the manager, knew anything about the brands. Everyone just kept saying to get the collar. I didn't want the collar. I wanted a topical treatment. I asked three different associates (one manager) what the difference was between Sentry and Sentry Pro. One was more expensive and only three treatments, one was less expensive and 6 treatments. Both had completely different active ingredients. I had already figured this all out and pointed it out to everyone i asked and was met with blank stares. None of them had any idea and all just continued to read the packaging to me. I can read. I read everything on both types and thought maybe, since they worked their, SOMEONE in the store would know SOMETHING about one of the most important products in the store. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything. I'll go online, research myself, and order something. I wouldn't trust they would give me something safe for a rabid raccoon let alone my dog. read more

We got a dog less than a year ago so needless to say we have been utilizing Pet Smart quite a bit lately. I have finally come to the end of my rope with this store. First off, there is never any one around to help you. I literally have to walk around in circles and usually have to ask the cashiers to find someone for me. I'm left to my own devices to lift the really heavy stuff- XL dog crate, HUGE bags of dog food etc. But the final straw happened when the pet care manager was approached by a smaller employee and asked him to help me load the XL dog crate in my car. He literally brushed her off and said "AH, no I'm heading inside." ( with a bit of an attitude not realizing I was right behind him). My car was parked on the curb with the door open. I ended up struggling to get it in myself. I'm floored by the complete lack of customer service and common decency in this place. (By the way, he told me later after I ripped him a new one, that he had a phone call waiting for him. But he was back outside to talk to me less than 2 minutes later. Ever hear of taking a message? Better yet, it would only have taken 30 seconds of his time to help a paying customer who was standing right in front of him!!!) Another example of how poorly trained the staff is- When we first bought our dog, I knew I wanted to try a wireless, outdoor containment system but didn't know a lot about them. I asked one of the employees to help me. I asked if I should get the system now or wait until the dog was older. She replied " Oh no, you want to get this now and use it before he is 12 weeks old. After that they are pretty much trained" So I bought it. Once I got it home, the manual specifically says 'Do not use this product on animals younger than 6 months old' Seriously? So I wait to use it and sure enough the system is a piece of garbage!! (over $300 later). This store needs some serious retraining in customer service and product utilization! Think twice before going into this store!! read more

After paying over $100 for a rabies shot and a nail clipping I have decided to go elsewhere for my pet needs. A year later I received an advertisement saying my dog was due for another rabies shot. I did my homework and found out that rabies shots are only required by the state of Pennsylvania every three years. I consider this to be a deceptive business practice. If I could I would give them a 1/2 star. read more

I have had a cat for 2 years now, I bring him here for all of his check-ups and grooming, they are very thorough, and they treat me good. However........they are very expensive, I would not buy my cat food and grooming needs here. I only go there because they are local and close to home. read more
