First time taking my dog to this store since all the others stores had no availability. I came to pick up my dog and he rushed over to me. There was something off about him for over a week and he kept licking himself more than before. Finally took him to the vet and it turns out they nicked him and didn't even tell me. Nathan gave us recommendations for tanks, fish that were compatible not only with our current goldfish but also with our lifestyle, and was all around extremely helpful. Dont get me wrong their staffs are really friendly n nice. I took both of my dogs to come there for 1st time. My standard poodle were so matted so they shaved her down she looked so fresh n clean aftee but 2 days after the haircut her ears got really bad infection bc they way they plucked her ears wasnt property- I guess. A trip to Vet for sure. Poor my baby just went through stomach surgery 2 months ago and now is ear infection. The story wasnt ending like that. My 2nd baby is getting worse. He is a happy handsome guy. I picked him up that day i realized his tummy was really full. So i dont know he got lots of treats from them to keep his grooming session going easier?!?! I dont know. Then he started to have diarrhea after he got home. Like a bad diarrhea. I was worried. Then next day his belly n underneath of armpits were so red. Like rash but lots.. He looks so sadddd. He is a happy boy always smile but now he is just so itchy n sad. He might got razor burned or he got infection because they dont clean their tools properly i dont know. Have to talk to Vet tomorrow. We had one bad experience about 3 yrs ago, but have found Tabitha at Petsmart grooming. She is great and the old problem we had with appt scheduling has completely changed with the new website appt booking. Tabitha is so awesome, and am glad Petsmart made changes and we found Tabitha. I love this petsmart. Everyone here is great, especially Frankie who we usually see when checking out. He has such great energy and is always so friendly! Hands down, best customer service we've ever experienced! Our puppy Rambo, gets lots of love from everytime we stop by. I also love the groomers, they are patient and very thorough. I would HIGHLY recommend Anthony who has made our experience so great, that our puppy always goes straight to the groomers looking for him. He knows exactly how to groom Goldendoodles so that they don't look like poodles. He always takes his time and our puppy loves him so much that he runs straight for the groomers every time. So I brought my dog Max in for basically an "emergency" grooming session. This summer heat has been awful for him and he's been biting and pulling out his own fur. Bear in mind, I drove pretty far today for an appointment with Jessica C. So far, this is the best bath and haircut he's ever had! Normally he comes back incredibly anxious and clingy, but today he was fine on the way back home. His haircut is so cute, and I can tell Jessica took her time with him. Usually he still has little strings of fur, bald spots, and long fur between his paw pads and in his ears- not this time! His fur is soft, rounded out, and no bald spots at all. I wish I had had cash on me to tip her, so I'll send her at least a thank you card. I also really liked the cashier who checked us out. She was friendly and made sure I knew what I had on my account etc. (Her makeup was dope too lol, she had a really adorable little crescent moon drawn on her face!) I brought my dog in for his first grooming appointment and was worried sick because of all the horror stories I've read about dogs going to the groomers and somehow dying while there. GROOMING REVIEW: The first time we took our puppy to get a bath, he returned home smelling good, looking good, and shedding a lot less. The guy who did his bath did a GREAT job. HOWEVER, the SECOND time we took our puppy to get a bath, he was STILL STINKY and he was shedding MORE! I'm not even sure if the girl put shampoo on him!! I've decided to give my puppy a bath myself or take him somewhere else. STORE REVIEW: The handful of trips I've made to the store have been overall positive. The staff always walks by and asks if I need any assistance. They were nice and even let me weigh my puppy because I was curious how much he weighed. My dog was traumatized from the grooming service we received here. This review is for Anthony B and the manager Tabitha. I visited this PetSmart before Christmas season and again recently in January 2019. I would not recommend ANYONE to go here, even if you're in need of immediate services. Timelines and Communication: We checked in at 9am and did not leave until after 3pm. I came into the salon asking for an estimate and each time they said "oh it'll be one more hour." When I finally saw Anthony around 12 he said, "Oh I'm about to start the cut." What have they been doing for 3 hours then?? If they were behind then I wouldn't mind rescheduling the appointment so at least my pup can walk around outside. Grooming Service: We checked my dog in and the associate said he was a little tangled but they would be able to achieve one of two hair lengths. Most likely the shorter one (keep in mind she pointed to short hair lengths that are not completely shaved off). They asked me to sign a paper, the associate said it was to say that I understand his skin may get irritated. To summarize the rest of what happened: They shaved my dog down and stated I signed the paper that says if he's too tangled then they are allowed to. This is when I went to the grooming manager Tabitha. I was concerned because it was winter and I didn't want my pup to freeze. She showed no sympathy at all. She said, "Well you signed this paper." I asked for a copy and read the details. She then turned to Anthony and whispered if he could show me the tangles. He didn't have them. Let me say this again 0 PROOF FOR SHAVING MY DOG DOWN. Also we asked for a teddy bear cut. At least his head still had some hair- the cut was uneven and he still had tear stains. You had my dog for 6+ hours and you couldn't even do that??? I was told he would have some hair when I checked him in and we walked out freezing because of this TERRIBLE grooming salon. We got him some jackets so that he could still go on daily walks, but he would still shiver - all because of this horrid place. The 1 star in this review is for one of the store supervisors who understood because he has dogs himself. He agreed this was absurd that they kept me in the store almost all day, had me constantly asking how much longer the appointment would take, only to shave my dog down without any notification. He said I wouldn't have to pay for it and talked to the grooming salon with me. read more

This review is related to a recent grooming service. I have had my dog horribly chopped at nearby PetSmarts before. Was a little nervous to book again, but a bunch of nearby dog owners said the Milpitas branch was much more organized and gave better quality haircuts. I booked Anthony on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty quiet in the grooming area which was perfect for my tiny nervous dog. She's a 5lb toy poodle and I am particular about her haircut. Anthony gave a great consultation but also executed really well. I knew he was going to work well and be gentle with my tootsie. Whole process took about two hours. She left happy and I left happy too. Haircut was smooth, even and was left @ the desired length. Sometimes my dog leaves traumatized but not this time! Will return. read more

There's ALWAYS a sudden price increase with nail trimming whenever I come in, but they claim it's "never changed" like how their system "never changed". Came in last March, was told nail trim is walk in only for $10 and gave them my info+ vaccine/rabies shot since it's been a few years with a brand new system. Came in yesterday (6 MONTHS AFTER) for routine nail trim. New guy told me they couldn't find my number or info on their computer so I asked if they got a new system, but his coworker claimed it's been the same for 2.5 years. Nail trim is now $12 and I can assume it will keep increasing like precovid where they went from $10 to $18 in less than a year also claimed they never changed the price. WTF PetSmart? read more

PetSmart stores frankly usually don't generate the energy and liveliness, at least now when there's less chance to see other owners with dogs and cats walking around, or the packed displays for the kids to ooh and ahhh over the animals. We were shopping for fish and must say this petsmart has an IMPRESSIVE line up of fish on display. The selection is HUGE compared to the Fremont PetSmart to we had gone the day before. I was realllly glad to drive the 2x distance vs. going to Fremont to see much LARGER fish, MORE fish, and GREATER VARIETIES of fish. The staff who helped me there was also helpful, as he owned fish himself and answered my questions on best live plants for Neon Tetras and guppies, as I helped my daughter set up and prepare her aquarium for the fish. Dang 2 and a half stars? Yiiikes. As for me, I give it a four. My boyfriend and I have recently become parents to a beautiful 32 lbs blue nose American Pitbull Terrier aka BULLY. We've compared shopping at a pet store to be similar to shopping a grocery store. Going to either place is finding a means to feed, with a few cool things thrown in. You're really not looking to spend a long time in there, but you find yourself doing it anyway. Proximity to me isn't lacking and that is definitely something I consider when purchasing for little miss Missy. Convenience is key. I am a bit wary shopping at little pet stores because I feel like product sits there longer compared to big chain stores. Plus, I appreciate the space I can run to when another animal poops in my direction. I've been to the one at Coleman, and I don't really have any qualms about it. However, I feel like this location has a lot more bodies available to help me out, answer questions, etc. I have interacted with several associates here compared to most places. Aside from location, this really brings me back. I think it's really cool that they have a puppy/ kitty section for new parents. Less guesswork to do. read more

**This review is for the grooming salon.** I don't get why this place is getting such low ratings with bad reviews. I've always had a great experience with my dog getting groomed here. I have a small 6 lb long haired chihuahua. I get her groomed once every 4 months because her fur grows fast. Every time I pick her up, she looks like different dog! I love the way they shave her down. I believe the groomer that takes care of my dog is named Andrew. The last time he groomed my little Chacha, he did a fantastic job. The package I pay for comes with bath and cut, nail trim and grind, tooth brush, clean the ears... and I think thats it? Only three stars because I took my baby to be groomed here and few days later, I noticed there were MATS in her leg hair that weren't there before!! I know her hair mats when it gets wet but usually I brush it out right away so it doesn't get worse. They proabably only brushed the surface so it would look good and didn't get in deep to get out the mat close to her skin. I should have taken her back probably but, it's a long drive to Petsmart for me and, really, why would I let them work on her again? A few weeks later, I had to take her to be shaved cause of the matting. I donno... maybe they didn't rinse her well enough or something. The service at PetSmart is impeccable! The staff are always friendly even an hour before closing, despite having a long day. I guess being around animals all day does make people happy! PetSmart caters to all kinds of pets from dogs and cats to reptiles. Besides selling pet accessories and food, they also have grooming, training and adoption services. I love going in just to browse various kinds of dog leashes, collars and treats. Their PetHoliday selection is my favorite, filled with tons of holiday themed pet items. Most recently, I chanced upon their Christmas PetHoliday line for dogs and cats which included treats shaped like gingerbread man, bone fashioned like candy canes and collars with snowman prints on them! The Martha Stewart collection for dogs was especially whimsical! The Holiday Santa Bow dog collar (I bought it!) was one of my favorites! In addition to excellent service and products, this pet store also knows how to take care of their REAL customers - the pets. They allow pets to shop with their owners and most PetSmart staff are equipped with complimentary pet treats to please your pets! Talk about the ultimate retail experience! Just called petsmart to schedule a bath and brush and I hear in the background the person on the phone asking a groomer "do you want to give a doodle a bath and brush" and they both laughed. I've scheduled multiple baths and the last 3 appointments have been canceled last minute on the same day because the worker wanted to end their day earlier. I haven't been able to get an appointment in a long time and whenever I did have an appointment the workers just never seem happy to wash my doodle. He's always knot free. He is super friendly and listens very well I've never gotten a complaint. Disappointed in the TERRIBLE service that petsmart consistently provides. Do better. read more

If I could give PetSmart Milpitas 0 stars for grooming, I would. They literally butchered my adorable pet poodle today. We want to keep our poodle's coat long and wanted a teddy cut, which is what we asked for. We asked for her to be trimmed around the eyes and down the bridge of the nose, shaved underneath and shaped on her puppy coat (she is five months) taking off no more than 3/4 an inch. They shaved her down to half an inch of fur from three inches of fluffiness...shaved her entire butt down to nothing so she looks like a baboon from behind, her back legs are shorn down to 1/4 of an inch but they did nothing to her front leds, making the whole thing even more ridiculous. Furthermore, they shaved her whole face short and then left a ridiculous moustache making her look like a schnauzer or scotty dog. I.e. not the teddy/puppy cut given to poodles the world over. We were so shocked that we started laughing and paid. We are actually livid but could not be bothered arguing with the idiotic groomer, Tabitha, who thought that this was perfectly acceptable grooming. Our gorgeous puppy looks like an underfed schnauzer with fluffy puppy poodle front legs. Absolutely appalling. read more
