We take our dog here for all her veterinary appointments. The workers here are friendly and helpful.

Bruce after Parktown fixed him up after he got attacked at doggie daycare.

I've been coming here with my pup Bruce since I brought him home 7 years ago. Super awesome staff all the way around, they remember you, they remember your pets, they are super professional and knowledgeable and you don't feel like they're trying to upcharge you. Yes there's wait times, but there's also a global pandemic happening. I think people need to check their entitlement a bit and set expectations accordingly. Sometimes your wait time is a bit longer because there's an emergency that has bumped your puppy's annual exam down the priority queue. Be more understanding. Who knows, maybe your pet will be next with an emergency and you'll be super grateful when Dr. Long finds time to take a look at something you're freaking out about. I know I've been on the receiving end of their understanding and kindness.

Parktown Vet was great to my pup Kona this week. We got there for our appt. and was well notified by the signs to park and call to check in, due to covid restrictions. When I called, the person at the front went over all the Info since it was our first visit there. When it was our time someone came out and got our pup to walk in. The vet then called me to go over his wellness check and to discuss any concerns I had. We got some shots out of the way as well. The staff (Elizabeth and team) were extremely friendly and helpful thru the process. You can tell they are true pet lovers and make you and your pet feel warm and fuzzy about the visit. I am definitely happy we started there for our pets well being.

Ask the Community - Parktown Veterinary Clinic

Has anyone needed to get their dog a tooth extraction or root canal here? If so how much was it approximately?

We just adopted a puppy at HSSV. The people at HSSV told us that the first check up within 5 days of adoption with Parktown clinic is free. Is that true? How much is the puppy package and what are the shots? Thanks

Yes that is correct. Our puppy package is $390 and includes the series or DHPP vaccines, bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccine, three doses of flea and heartworm medication, dewormings, fecal testing (if positive it covers medications and recheck… Read more

From the very beginning, Dr. Tanya and Dr. Vu approached his care with remarkable expertise, patience, and compassion, which immediately gave me confidence that Teddy was in the right hands. Both doctors are incredibly thoughtful and thorough. They take the time to carefully evaluate Teddy's condition, explain treatment options clearly, and ensure that every step of the process is handled with care and attention. Their dedication truly made a difference. After everything Teddy went through, he is now doing much better and finally feeling comfortable again. I also want to recognize the amazing technicians and front desk staff. They are always professional, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Every visit feels organized, supportive, and focused on the well-being of the animals. It is rare to find a veterinary team that combines medical excellence with such genuine compassion. I am deeply grateful for the care they have provided for Teddy, and I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for trustworthy, knowledgeable, and attentive care for their pets.

Finding a good vet that is at a privately owned hospital has been a challenge and after reading their website and hearing good things from a couple of colleagues, I drove over an hour each way for appointments with each of my dogs. I saw Dr. Cauvel and was very impressed with his knowledge, he recognized it was better for me to handle my super excitable malinois vs have her go into the back for her vaccination, and most importantly, when I presented him with a more complex issue on one of my dogs and I presented my thoughts, he didn't treat me like my background was somehow a threat like I have experienced before. He went out of his way to review some information and photos I emailed after the appointment and we decided on what to try. I was really thrilled with my experience with this vet at this practice with both of my dogs, and despite the drive will definitely be coming back for future needs.

I strongly advise against trusting this clinic with any major surgery. I brought my rescue cat here…read morefor treatment of nose cancer, which they had already diagnosed as being present throughout his entire nose. Despite this, they completely ignored one side of his nose during treatment and committed multiple acts of severe professional negligence. 1. Failure to Follow Agreed Treatment Plan: I paid for and consulted on an aggressive, complete nose removal. The consulting veterinarian explicitly stated that the surgery "would be a waste" unless the entire nose was removed because leaving any cancer behind would cause it to return aggressively. Instead, a general practice surgeon--whom I was never permitted to speak with--made a unilateral mid-surgery decision to perform a minimal "scrape," leaving 2/3 of the tumor and visible cancerous bulbs intact. 2. Complete Violation of Informed Consent: If the surgeon did not feel capable or comfortable performing the agreed-upon nose removal once my cat was sedated, they had a strict medical and ethical obligation to call me from the operating room. By failing to contact me, they denied me my legal right to decline a substandard procedure, wake my cat up, and immediately transfer him to a qualified veterinary oncologist or specialist who could perform the surgery correctly. 3. Total Lack of Post-Operative Communication: When I picked up my cat after major surgery, the clinic provided absolutely zero communication or discharge instructions. I had to discover via text message that they failed to complete the agreed-upon service. They then falsely claimed the cancer was only on one side, directly contradicting their own previous diagnosis and what was clearly visible. Because of their failure to remove the tumor as promised, the cancer returned with extreme aggression. I had to euthanize my cat because this clinic robbed him of his only opportunity to receive a proper, complete surgery from a qualified professional. I have the full text message logs, emails, and images confirming this timeline. A formal complaint regarding this professional negligence and failure to obtain informed consent is being filed directly with the State Veterinary Board. Do not trust them with your animal's life. Response to owner : There is a fundamental difference between a "medically complex" adjustment and a complete change in surgical scope without owner consent. The explicit, documented purpose of Tom Tom's consultation was a complete nose removal. I was explicitly told by your staff that a partial removal or "minimal scrape" would not be effective given the aggressive nature of his cancer. Yet, while he was sedated, Dr. Eileen made the unilateral decision to pivot to a minimal scrape, leaving active cancerous bulbs behind, without ever calling me to get my informed consent. By failing to call me from the operating room, you denied me my legal right as a client to decline a sub-standard procedure. Had I been contacted, I would have immediately instructed the clinic to wake him up so I could transfer him to a qualified veterinary oncologist or specialist who was capable of performing the agreed-upon surgery. Furthermore, your clinic attempted to retain 100% of the funds for a complete nose removal until I forced accountability through a series of extensive emails. Your own text message records confirm that the surgeon only focused on one side of the nose, directly contradicting the agreed-upon treatment plan. This is a clear issue of professional negligence and a failure to obtain informed consent, not a misunderstanding of "expectations." I will not be having further private discussions with management to help cover up this clinic's lack of informed consent. The time for discussion was when Tom Tom was on the operating table. All further correspondence from me will be handled directly through the formal complaint I am filing with the State Veterinary Board.

Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most upsetting experiences I've had with a veterinarian. My cat had gotten covered in car oil and likely ingested some of it because she was scared and I couldn't catch her right away. By the time I finally did, she had gone downhill. She had lost weight, was drooling, her tongue was sticking out, and her mouth looked burned and ulcerated. I was scared and brought her in because I needed help fast. When Dr. Saini looked at her, it felt like he wrote her off almost immediately. He looked in her mouth briefly and told me it was a tumor and that she would not have a good quality of life. I asked more than once if it could be an ulcer instead, especially because of the car oil exposure and the burns in her mouth, but he still said it was a tumor. There was very little explanation, very little compassion, and no real sense of urgency. What bothered me the most was that I had to point out that she was clearly having respiratory distress before that was even addressed. Only after I kept asking questions did labs and X-rays come up. By that point, I honestly had no confidence in the care being provided and chose not to move forward with testing there. The next day, I took her to another vet. They diagnosed an oral ulcer, not a tumor, and started treatment right away, including IV fluids and oxygen. That was heartbreaking because I feel like her care was delayed when she needed help the most. I know not every diagnosis is easy, and I don't expect any doctor to be perfect. But I do expect compassion, urgency, and a willingness to actually listen when an animal is clearly suffering. I left feeling like my cat was dismissed instead of helped, and I would not feel comfortable bringing another pet here.

I have seen both father and son over the years for routine exams as well as office visits for my dog. Frankly speaking, I wouldn't trust Dr. Mundh Sr. with serious or emergency pet issues. I feel like his responses have been blunt and/or dismissive whenever I've asked him questions, and I wouldn't trust his diagnosis for something serious. His son, Dr. Mundh Jr., has a better bedside manner and he correctly diagnosed and treated a condition my dog had when his dad sort of brushed it off during my visit with him. Dr. Mundh Jr. talks fast though, so sometimes I feel like I'm rushed whenever I'm with him. Our family lost a dog right before Christmas in 2024. He began exhibiting concerning symptoms, and late at night, an appointment was made to bring him in the following morning. Unfortunately, he didn't make it through the night, and his unexpected passing was incredibly devastating to us, especially because my brother, his primary caretaker, was working out of state and not able to be there in his final moments. The next morning, shortly before the scheduled appointment, I called to let them know what happened and apologize that we would be missing the appointment on such short notice. The woman on the phone was so incredibly kind and compassionate. She comforted me and let me know that we could bring him to them, and they would arrange his cremation, if that is what we wanted. My mother and I loaded him into the back of her van, devastated, and she drove him to San Jose Animal Hospital. Upon her arrival, the staff members promptly came outside, loaded our sweet beloved boy onto a gurney and took him inside. They hugged my mother and showed her a level of love and compassion that truly moved her to tears. The subject of payment was not brought up once at this time. They spoke with my brother over the phone and let him know all of the available options that he had and assured him that everything would be taken care of. The cost was very reasonable, and a few weeks later, Major's ashes were delivered to us in a beautiful urn, with a handwritten note of sympathy, his collar, and a paw print they had taken, things we had never even thought about in our state of grief. I truly appreciate the love that was shown to us during this time. Its taken me a while to leave them a review, only because it is a very sore subject. If this is the level of care they showed to our dog in death, I can only imagine how they treat the living pets in their care. Thank you so much.
