Came here to purchase a leopard gecko. Prices were okay for the items needed. The store was a bit short staffed in the pet area so it took a bit to get someone to help. They offered a little bit of advice on care. A good experience if you do your research ahead of time and know what you want. Depending on the animal, staff knowledge can be limited. I don't recommend buying crickets here. They are very strict with the counting and then in transport some usually don't make it and then the animals won't eat. read more

I tend to not beat people up for being inexperienced. But on this I have no choice. My dog has never bitten anyone in her life and she is five years old. I took daisy in for nail trim only. And while I know it can be difficult to work with dogs. I do expect them to have knowledge of what they are doing. The employee trimmed the nails and caught one of the quicks. And that caused my daisy to jump. And then two seconds later. Caught another quick. And then another quick. Finally after the fourth quick that was clipped daisy reached her head back and snapped at the employee. I said would someone please help her out. The other two staff members just stood there. Neither moved to help. I was two seconds away from coming through the swinging doorway and helping. I think this is a learning experience for the salon staff members. Help when a fellow employee needs help. The other learning experience would be to get better training for the salon staff. To recognize when they clip too short. The quick will get snipped. She did it once. So should have realized this dog has long quicks. Maybe don't cut as short. I do not blame my dog for snapping at a salon person after the fourth clipping. She was scared it would keep happening. read more

I have a Weiner Shorkie named Rosie VonWigglesbee. Rosie has seen 3-4 different groomers at this location over time and they ALWAYS do an amazing job. One time (when she had been wild and got her ears matted) they accidentally scraped her ear with the clippers but they offered to take her to their vet or pay for a visit to ours. It was not needed but it was very nice of them. Rosie is my 7th child (I have 6 human children) and am very particular about her. I will take her nowhere else but this PetSmart. They are amazing and I never have to worry about her. read more

Do not buy fish here warning I had my t tank up for two weeks I went in to get mollies and Algae eaters. The next day six fish died I was hoping my tank would be relaxing not heartache The person I called was yelling at me because she said I had to many fish and should not have the shark fish I brought my Mom when I bought the fish she knew more than the sales associate they did credit me back but she said if you don't have them dead I can't credit you So I tore my whole tank apart to find 6 dead fish I went there for my two cats and new puppy not anymore Could of handle a good customer better read more

Horrible grooming experience!! I took my newly adopted (3 weeks ago) 3 month old Bichon Frise in for a luxury grooming appointment and about 20 minutes later they called me telling me I had to come pick him up, that his matting was too severe to continue. I knew he had a lot of matts & even told them that when I was in there making the appointment and when I dropped him off. I should have known something wasn't right when the groomer grabbed my 6lb puppy's chin hair to hold him When I picked him up, I was mortified. They shaved his back and belly all the way down, which I knew they had to but they literally left his tail, chest, head, legs & ears untouched. They should have ATLEAST groom what they could have & went around the 1 mat that was close to his skin! I brought him home & cut the few lose mats off myself. I was in the area and decided to stop into PetSmart because I wanted to get our pup a special treat for Valentine's Day. When I walked into the store, the line was pretty long. I walked the whole store and could not find treats that you can bag yourself like I have seen in other pet stores. Took my 1 year cavapoo in for grooming. Typically, it takes about 2 hours for bath and cut. I called, and they told me they would be done around 3 pm. I dropped him off at 10 am after they called me to drop him off earlier. I told them this was not acceptable. I told them I was on my way to get him. Brittany told me not to come back because I was upset. I spoke to Michelle, the store manager, and she did nothing unfortunately foe them, I will never be back to the store. I brought my 10 month havapoo puppy to the salon to be groomed by Kaitlynn. She did a fantastic job! She understood the cut I was looking for and she was able to achieve that look-despite the puppy wiggling around. He looks adorable and I'm very pleased. I will definitely bring him back. read more

Petsmart groomers in Medina Ohio The manager Britney is the worst I have a Bichon Frise' And every time I took him in they wanted to cut his hair down to within an inch of his skin, simply because they are not groomers they do not have the skills to groom a Bichon Frise', they just want to shave every dog down like a poodle this is the worst grooming salon I've ever taken my dog to. I will never go back again I wish someone had worn me about taking my dogs there. Please, for the sake of your pet, do NOT get them groomed here. Took my dog in to get a bath, cut, and nail trim/grind. Dog has not been the same since and it's been 2 days. I walked up as they were finishing, and the lady was holding my 12 pound dog by one paw while razoring his underside. I could hear him yelping and crying before I saw him through the window. Needless to say, he now has a cut (came close to being his second neuter), which prevents him from walking comfortably. He is obviously traumatized and has done nothing but sleep. I have been hand feeding him and carrying him to use the bathroom. All three (and last times) I've been here to get my dog groomed have been nothing but trouble. Since then, stories I've heard of this place have been terrible. Don't torture your pets, please. read more

Terrible grooming salon- the groomers are all lazy and refuse to brush out our long haired dog "because of matting" when I could literally pull / loosen the "matting" with a gentle tug from my hand. I will not be shopping here anymore. I was incorrectly charged for a bag of dogfood, overcharged by $3. I went back and looked at price on shelf, it was $34.99 like I thought, I was charged $37.99 and my receipt said "Super 5" puppy formula. I had purchased the regular Complete Health puppy. Super 5 is a different line of the same brand. First, the sales associate I asked told me that ALL dog food brand prices increased because of packaging changes and they just hadn't switched all the price stickers yet. Then when I pointed out that my receipt said Super 5 yet I purchased Complete Health, her answer to that was "it's the same thing". Um, no it's not. Look on the companies website, two different formulas! I also called the dog food company myself and verified that no, the company had not increased their prices and only changed packaging for one formula, but no increase in price. I never believed for a minute that ALL dog food companies changed their prices at the same time, what a joke! I did get my money refunded so I did not say anything more to the associate. So not one lie, but TWO in the same visit. I reported this to PetSmart online and never received a response, guess they do not care that associates lie to customers. Prior to this happening, I had an issue with the grooming department that I was not thrilled about either. I had an appointment at another pet store in town to get my two dogs groomed. I had asked my daughter to drop them off. She mistakenly took them to PetSmart instead of the other store. Instead of questioning it or calling me to verify, they went ahead and started to bath them. She had specifically told them that I had an appointment but they told her "oh maybe whoever booked the appointment forgot to write it down". Seriously? If I was the one dropping them off and they didn't have it wrote down that would be one thing, but the fact that my daughter was dropping them off and told them I had made the appointment, you would think common sense tells you to call the owner to clarify. It wasn't until she got back home and listened to the message on the phone from the other store asking if we were still bringing my dogs in, that she realized they were at the wrong place. read more

Went to go buy a hamster and they had no small animals at all, no hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles, chinchillas. You name it they probably won't have it. They also have tiny fish tanks and when you ask if a betta fish can go in a CLEARLY LABELED betta fish tank they say no you need a 5 gallon one. We were looking for a temporary bird cage and Carrie was extremely helpful, spent quite a bit of time with us going over sizes, etc and even offered to set a cage up so we could see the actual size. Excellent customer service and made choosing a cage much easier. We actually didn't see the ones she was showing us when we initially looked and almost left without one and then she came to help. read more

I USED to shop here for aquarium fish and supplies. The aquariums were clean and the variety was excellent and healthy. I have recently set up my aquarium from a year long hiatus. I have been to the pet smart in Medina on several occasions and it is now terrible. The aquariums are dirty, filthy and unkempt. The fish variety is dismal, boring, and unhealthy. There is also never any help available. When you hunt the store to find an employee and ask them for help, they seem very annoyed and disgruntled to help you. As I am now stocking my tank, I have scratched this store off my list. I will go somewhere where they actually want my business and have fish that I actually want to buy. read more

Please. For anyone reading this DO NOT PURCHASE LIVE ANIMALS FROM THIS PETSMART. I purchased a guinea pig here and she developed a terrible ring worm infection that ate away at her nose and one of her ears. This fungal infection then transferred to my chin (from holding her) and I had to be put on a round of heavy medication in order to treat it, because of how terrible it was. I brought her there to explain what happened and they said it was my fault, from not taking care of her well enough. I've owned animals my whole life and this was simply not true. Not only this, but she had a small spot on her nose when I got her (I didn't believe it was serious) which turned into the infection. Theirfor, she had developed the fungal infection while she was there. Instead of apologizing for the fact that half of her nose was eaten away by a terrible infection, they offered me a REFUND. Nothing justifies a refund on a living animal. I was disgusted. They didn't care about helping her, they cared about us being quiet about it by offering us refunded money. The employees are extremely rude and disrespectful. When looking at fish, they asked if I was 18 and I replied yes. I'm 27 years old and had an ID. They told me I needed a parent with me. At this point I was just so over it and I will never shop at this location again. Please. If you love animals and care about the health of you and your family, do your research and please don't shop here for live animals. read more
