Took my cavapoo to get groomed yesterday for the first time. She came out so cute and beautiful. They were fast. In and out in 1.5 hours.

Our grooming has gone from 40-something to 80-something (plus material fee's) in 4 years. That is literally insane, I definitely respect how much work it is to groom a dog, but that is 80% inflation 11% since the end of last year. Come on. read more

Petco offers a 30-day warranty on their fish: If you buy one and it dies within a month, they'll replace it. But they don't mention upfront that you need to bring back the body of the fish to claim it. In my case, I couldn't find the dead fish in my tank, so I explained that to the staff. They said, "No problem--just bring in a water sample so we can test it and ensure it wasn't due to bad water quality on your end." Believing in their warranty, I went home, collected some tank water, and returned to the Petco in Wadsworth, Ohio. They tested it, and the water was perfectly fine--fish-worthy, as they say. So, it wasn't my fault the fish died. Yet, despite the warranty, the salesperson argued with me, insisting I couldn't get a replacement. I pushed back: "I provided the water sample as requested. I don't want my money back; I just want a replacement for the fish that died within the 30 days." Suddenly, she said, "Oh! I thought you wanted a refund. No problem--let's get you that replacement fish." We went to the register, but she didn't ring it up. She just handed it over, said goodbye, and I left, assuming it was handled under the warranty. Fast forward to today: That replacement fish died too, so I went back to buy another one outright. The same rude salesperson from before stopped me and said I couldn't buy any more fish from them. When I asked why, she accused me of walking out without paying for the previous fish--the warranty replacement! I reminded her it was under warranty, and she'd told me to bring the water sample instead of the body. But no, she doubled down: Without the body, no replacement, and now I was being labeled a shoplifter. The moral of the story? Do not purchase fish--or anything else--from the Petco in Wadsworth, Ohio. They don't honor their warranties and will accuse you of theft over their own mishandling. Answer to your Petco in Wadsworth Ohio post Sept 8, 2025 Petco, your suggestion to simply call after I spent considerable time trying to resolve this issue in your store is unacceptable. This is your own warranty policy that you refuse to honor, and then you go so far as to accuse me of theft when I was only following your instructions. There's no excuse for such treatment. I've been bringing my animals to Petco for all my business for 19 years, ,training, beds , dog food, collars, leads, treats, Petco hospital for ear cleaning, as my dog doesn't like, I left my dog there on December 24th for a haircut, they were super busy, they called me back in 90 minutes and the groomer said she was unable to do his ears, he nipped in the air at her I told her she should have checked his file , he doesn't have them done there, but at their hospital she told me not to ever bring him back. she gave him a poor haircut , she never even cut his feet or legs or his ears , and charged me a 100dollars and gave me a phone number to take him to I won't buy anything there again!!!! after 19 years!!!!!!! read more

Okay to be fair, the staff isn't super great on average, I feel like I have to literally chase someone while they see you looking and turn away... on more than one occasion, at more than one location... but they continue to have the basics, even if I do pay more here than at specialty stores (of which I have none nearby, so often, not an option!) also... it more often than not just feels unclean, I no longer bring the dog with, and in the past that has ALWAYS been an amazing way to socialize animals! I hate leaving such a low review, I rarely do leave bad ones, but definitely needs a clean up as a branding across the board... (teach your staff to clean instead of stand around talking about non-work things... go figure ) read more

First, I will say that the majority of the employees here are very helpful and friendly. Most want to exchange pet stories, and I enjoy that. My beef is not with any employee, but more the management, both local and corporate. I purchased a scratching post there and paid $29.99 for it. When I went on line to buy a second one for my friend, they were $14.54!!! I paid double the price by buying it at the store from the same company??? I tried repeatedly to contact someone at corporate, but was completely ignored. Is this any way to run a business? My other complaint has to do with expired cat food on the shelves. I can understand maybe a few days. But it was July and there were packages of cat food that had expired in February! I patronize Petco in Wadsworth out of convenience, but I am going to start using the Pet Supplies Plus in Norton more often based on recent experience. read more

I have had a few challenging experiences here with grooming. Most recent was today, for a nail trim. We had an appointment today, and was informed when I arrived, that because I gave one of my dogs a cbd tablet purchased in the pet store, that they could not trim their nails. This has been highly recommended by our vet and other groomers due to the level of anxiety our dog suffer from with grooming, thus why we do it. There were no instructions given even when speaking to a groomer, who knew they were new at the store with grooming. read more

I love the grooming department at the Williams Reserve Crossing Petco in Wadsworth, Ohio! Megan and the rest of the staff are amazing!! They always take the time to listen to the customer to make sure they understand exactly what you are looking for. My dogs always look forward to going to their beauty appointments. When my fur baby Daphnee was injured a few years back, resulting in a hip injury, the staff at Petco treated her with kid gloves during her grooms. Even though she has completely recovered- they still treat her like she is a little doll that could break at the slightest touch! Love my Wadsworth Petco! I can always find what I need. They have a rather large variety of foods for dog and cats. The aquatic section is decent. Lots of accessories and toys for your pet too. They have grooming on site. I can tell you that we have used the grooming in the past and loved them. Our dog enjoyed going every month. We would tell him it eas "Spa Day" and he would run to the car. There is pet adoption that is on site plus there are monthly adoption events. They also hold low cost vaccination clinics and microchipping. And several times a year they have pet photography. By the registers is a self serve engraving machine for tags. I personally love the 2 for $5 dog toys. I can get my dog new toys when needed and it doesn't cost me a fortune. So when I do throw old ones away, it's not like throwing a bagful of $ out with it. The store is always clean. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. I love that when I walk in, it doesn't smell like a kennel like some other pet stores do. This groomer destroyed my puppies first cut. She obviously didn't even know what a zuchon looks like. Manager made excuses. Offered my money back. Only wanted puppy first grooming package then charged more because they added paws to it. So I paid more for an awful grooming. Overbooked calloffs. I went into this location to do some research on what kind of puppy food to start my future puppy on when I pick her up. I entered the store and went to the dog food area and was greeted by an associate named Pat. She took the time and helped me make an educated decision based on the type and size of dog. ( black lab). I was getting to leave and she suggested other items for the puppy I did not realize I was going need.
