We were told by our Veterinarian that Bandit has severe anxiety, fear and can be aggressive. I knew I would rather not work with a negative reinforcement training company. The training at Medina Dog Wizard is not negative at all in my experience. Steve and Aurelia began with them teaching Bandit boundaries that we could utilize at home. They also send guides to read to assist you at home after the training. Medina Dog Wizard also establishes rules and commands to help establish a good relationship with your dog. I was able, with the trainer's help, to figure out what works best for handling Bandit. I tried another dog trainer in the county, paying a lot of money. That company told me to get a harness, but my dog pulled severely, and my wife had very little control of him on our walks. We dropped off Bandit for two weeks at Medina Dog Wizard, they worked with him. Through working with Steve, the owner and trainer, we've learned that he reacts *extremely well* to wearing a prong collar, and slip leash and makes things much safer for the dog, my family and me. We also established commands for Bandit like lay down, place, heel, free, and kennel. They help you figure out what works best for your dog and you! That being said, I can't say enough outstanding things about Steve and Aurella at the Medina Dog Wizard. From talking to them on the phone and at the consultation, I immediately felt like they understood why Bandit was behaving the way he was. Even when training is complete, you go to Saturday's walks. During the walk, you have interactions with other dogs and have mini training where the trainer's assists you. Medina Dog Wizard goes above and beyond just the lessons. I have reached out to Medina Dog Wizard when Bandit was anxious when I was going to the store or putting him in his cage at night. Steve had some great tips that made it easier for us to handle these situations with my dog. They also offer boarding for the day if you go on vacation. I am so appreciative and thankful that I found Medina Dog Wizard. This is the best investment I have made in my dog (Bandit's) training.

However, they trained him like every other dog and I now have a dog I can't control because I'm physically unable to. They did not have handicap accessibility, so when we picked him up we had to stand out in the sun on a 90* day to get instructions on his training. When confronted about not training him to me they offered to come to my home 2x to make it better, but, seriously, what can be done in 2 days!?! I chose to try it and the trainer came in and when my dog would not cooperate she smacked him on the side of his face right in front of me! What!?! When my husband and daughter went to the dog wizard facility for day 2 they witnessed a bottle of rocks being thrown at the dog cages to get them to quiet down. Now I know why my dog is now afraid of noises he wasn't afraid of before. When I asked for a refund I was told, in a not very nice way, absolutely not that it's my fault his training did not work. She came to our home and helped train him in some basic commands (turns out you *can* teach an old dog new tricks), as well as training us to recognize signs of stress in him and helping us cope with his anxiety. My fiancée had never had a dog before, and even when it looked like we would have to return Tank to the rescue, Jennifer reassured us that things just take time. Finally, through a combination of training with Jennifer and some puppy Prozac (also at Jennifer's suggestion), Tank is a happy, healthy, well-adjusted dog. Also, when we adopted a second cat who did NOT get along with the first cat, Jennifer taught us how to give both cats enough reassurance and sense of safety to make them comfortable with each other. As I write this they're playing together and chasing each other up and down the hall (for such small cats they make a LOT of noise). All of this is to say that without Jennifer we would not be the family that we are. She brought us our first cat, helped us rescue and rehabilitate our dog, and made sure our second cat was safe in our home. My story - I have been taking my dog to this vet for a year with minimal issues. However, I took my cat there earlier this week when she had some dramatic weight loss ever since a vacation a few weeks ago. Upon seeing her, they proceeded to go on about how sick she was, which didn't surprise me considering the weight loss. They insisted they had to do a full blood panel that cost $260 along with several other measures, bringing the bill up to over $400. I tried to ask which alternatives I could use and of course, everything was absolutely necessary. Luckily, I was able to pay this fee at that time. Upon the exam completion, I told the results would be back on Thursday. When I got home I noticed that I was double charged the exam and the medical waste fee and there was also a couple other mysterious descriptions on the bill. When I called to inquire, no one seem to know what was what but they did agree to refund me for the erroneous charge. While talking to the office on Wednesday afternoon to fix the bill issue, the receptionist informed me that my cats test results were in. I asked her what they were, and she claims she was not allowed to tell me over the phone and that she had to wait for the doctors to read them. OK, I get this - but expected someone to call me Thursday at a reasonable time. I called three times through their business hours at once I didn't hear from them by 12 or 1 o'clock today with no response. Finally, at 6 PM tonight I received a call back with the results. It indicated that she had a urinary tract infection, but the doctor was saying that they would like to do a culture on the urine to narrow down what the bacteria was. When I asked if they could give her a broad-spectrum anabiotic, she said that they "don't do that. "I asked what my next steps were and she said that the office was closing for a week due to a Covid outbreak and therefore they couldn't do anything. I asked if she could call in another antibiotic that was likely to work on the type of bacteria that they identified, and she says that they don't call in pet medication's to a human pharmacy ( Walgreens etc) and that it's "not their policy to call prescriptions into a pet pharmacy. " I'm like WTF?!?!? I asked what they expected me to do then, as my cat is obviously ill and needs treatment! She said that they call a friendly partner Vet that will agree to see their patients while they're closed down, and they'll ship their records, but I will still have to pay another exam fee and an additional test fees for them to make their own determination as to what is wrong with her! So basically I have to re-pay hundreds of dollars more to take her somewhere else because they refuse to provide care based on their results because they're the only pharmacy in town that will not call in a prescription to a pharmacy. I accused her of being money hungry at this point, to which she didn't deny but just said oh I can't have that conversation with you right now. I asked how she slept at night knowing that an animal is suffering because they refused to provide medication. She then cited the CDC guidelines for Covid. I get that they have to close down and I'm all for preventing the spread of Covid, but there is absolutely nothing about Covid that says that they cannot call in medication to a pet pharmacy like every other vet in the world. That is where they are being simply money hungry and absolutely sadistic and cruel. She then said, that she was sorry for my distress and that she feels she did her job by informing me of the results and informing me that they will be closed. I told her that she did not do her job in fact, and she basically just stole $400 from me for doing absolutely nothing but that if that helps her sleep at night then good for her. So now I'm out $$$$ and obviously will have to spend hundreds more to take her to a vet that will actually do their job and follow through and provide treatment on an animal that they examine. This is the most obscene misuse of power that I have ever seen, and obviously will never take either of my animals back there.
