Some of the staff there are really rude and or clueless, I had gone in just for a water check on my fish tank and it was busy and there was only one worker back by the fish so I didn't mind it was my day off so I had no problem waiting however, there was this man that had showed up before me and just needed a couple of fish.. he kept getting bypassed by this worker and she came up to me and offered to help me, I told her about the man and she said I'll get to him next and just kinda blew me off and kept asking what I needed so I got my water checked by her and when she was finished I was hanging around just looking at the fish. The man walked up to her just to again ask if he could get a couple of fish ... and she looked him right in the face and said the following. I'm not gonna help you, I have to go on lunch break right now. If I do not go on break now I will not get one. She then turned and walked away. He said I just need these two fish right here .. and she ignored him and walked away he then set his things down and left the store. She saw him leave and made some scuffled remarks about her needing to eat, and how rude it was that he had walked away from her.. I just don't understand how taking two seconds to put two little fish in a bag is that big of a deal. How rude and disrespectful that was so here I am sticking up for this poor man who just wanted two fish. To the clueless young worker who "helped me" I had previously got my water checked for my freshwater tank and the young lady who helped me had no idea on how to remotely help me fix the water in my tank, her only advice to me was to add water conditioner to my already conditioned tank.. everything else in my tank was great (according to the test results) the only thing that was high was the ammonia. Now after two of my fish had died my fish are now healthy and so is the water there living in, no thanks to her. read more

PetSmart grooming is terribly slow. Over 4-5 hours for a bath and furminator. That is long time for a dog, more like an ordeal. Their system involves lots of waiting around for the next step in the process while the tech works on other dogs in the queue. Unsatisfactory system for dog and owner. read more

I went to PetSmart to get my dog's nails trimmed. There was one customer ahead of me and I was asked to wait. After nearly nearly 20 minutes, it was my turn. They then searched for 5 minutes for my name in the computer, but could not find me listed even though we had used this service at least 3 times in the past. I suggested that we just renter the info but they said they couldn't do it unless I had the rabies vaccination certificate with me. Frustrated, I then left the grooming area and went to a cash register to pay for an item I had selected while waiting for the nail appointment. The item rang up at full price even though it was from a flock of identical items on a sale rack. At that point I asked to have the sale cancelled and left the store. 30 minutes wasted! read more

We've tried this place a couple of times and have been unhappy every time went to go get some food treats yesterday and they didn't have barely anything and the one bag of treats I found that I wanted or expired December of 2015 and the girl at the counter said yeah they have expired stuff all the time because nobody checks to shows we've gotten fish there that have died the very next day or didn't last the night nobody knows what they're talking about because every time we ask a question if we get 5 different answers it's just not the worth the time read more

We've been taking our dog for pet grooming to Pet Smart for 4 years. Our regular groomer that typically took care of our dog had left employment so a new groomer did the job. We have always received positive reports about our "good girl" after each grooming. They were very busy with five staff and every table occupied, which creates a lot of doggie stimulation. When picking up our dog, we were told she was no longer welcome at their facility saying she was too excitable with the other dogs around and was difficult to keep still. Since we'd had such good experience in the past, I can only assume the new groomer was incapable of handling the situation. I'm very disappointed in Pet Smart and wish I knew where her previous groomer went. They were unwilling to share the information even after turning us away for future grooming. read more

Came in and waited 5 minutes at the cricket kiosk, making eye contact with employees as they walked by and ignored me. When someone finally came over to help, it took her almost 3 minutes just to catch 2 dozen crickets (you just scoop them into a tube...). I was given the bag tied in the middle, about 1/4 full of air, and full of dead crickets and pin sized ones. At this point the employee had already walked away, so I asked the checkout employee if I could get some more crickets (because the pin-sized ones were literally less than 1/2 the size of a regular small cricket). The girl came back and gave me about 3 extra, and couldn't even get air into the bag. I had to put my mouth on it and blow into it, and tie it right in front of her. Bottom line, choosing PetSmart over PetWorld (on the Beltline) was my first mistake; the crickets are overpriced and the service seems to get worse every time. read more

I took my dog there yesterday and they were terrible. On the phone they told me the price would be $42. I only asked for a bath nails clipped and teeth brushing. When I dropped him off the literally dragged him away right away. They made no attempt to help him be more comfortable. When I picked him up they said he was still wet because he didn't like the hairdryer. Something I know is not true because I use it on him at home. They also said they were going to charge me for a haircut because they tried to cut his hair which I specifically said they shouldn't. They also hurt his ear when he was cleaning it because he winced every time it's touched. They didn't bother to let me know or explain. I will not be taking my dog back there. read more

The website said that cat nail trimming did not need an appointment and that the grooming hours were 7am-9pm 7 days a week, but when I got there on Saturday morning they told me that they only take cats from 8am-2pm Monday-Thursday and that I would need an appointment. What is the point of posting information about services and hours on the website if it's not true? They've lost my business. read more

Erin the store manager was very helpful she didn't have anyone to do water testing so she gave me complimentary strips to test aquarium water at home. Also she offered to reimburse the cost of replacement filters that had been out of stock for awhile by just adjusting the price down for a brand new filter. I feel compelled to write a review of Petsmart's grooming salon after reading the negative reviews. My dog mainly goes in for bath/furminator brushing/nails but I've always been very satisfied with the results, and the groomers working in the salon have always been professional and friendly and very kind to my dog. Rates are reasonable and appointment times are flexible. read more

Brought our 2 dogs in to get their nails trimmed. I was specifically asked if we wanted the Pawdicure for them to which I replied "No, just the basic nail trim". Both dogs were completed in less than 5 minutes. When I was handed my bill I saw that I was charged for one Pawdicure and one basic nail trim. When I brought this to the groomer's attention, she replied she had in fact given one of our dogs the Pawdicure (although his service was completed much quicker than our other dog's who only received the basic nail trim). I pointed out that I had said I only wanted the nail trim for both of them. Her only reply was "oh, I'm sorry." and then she turned away to another customer. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming staff, with the exception of 1 or 2 employees that were working. We will not be bringing our dogs back. read more

This petstore is absolutely the worst!!! I brought my dog in to get her nails trimmed, it only took them about 30 seconds to get it done. They seriously did nothing, they said the tip of her nails should be hardedge after trimmed, but it was actually smooth. They kept claiming that it they did trimmed it and blaming that it was because her nails wasnt healthy enough. After I went back to see them again, they still tried to hide the fact that they did not trim my dog at all. This is literally robbery. They took the money and did no work. I had my dog for 9 years, I know what it looks like when it is trimmed, so it was obvious that they are bullshitting. read more

I had the same experience as Mike M. I usually love Petsmart and found it to be really customer friendly. However I am SO disappointed with the grooming salon. I walked in with a gorgeous, but hairy puppy, and asked for a trim. Just like Mike M's post - I came back 4 hours later with only the head, feet, and hind end shaved. I understand that puppys can be fussy however the worst part of it was the head was cut SO short and choppy - this is despite the fact that I had specifically made a huge deal about NOT wanting it cut too short. I cannot believe this was considered acceptable. Petsmart was nice enough to not charge me for the cut however I COMPLETELY regret bringing my puppy in and sadly have lost all faith in their grooming salon. I will definitely be looking for another groomer. read more

We scheduled an appointment for our mini pinscher for a basic grooming appointment. When we arrived, we had to wait a while because things seemed to be very slow moving there. I have no clue what happened next or why they made this assessment, but they refused to groom our dog because they said that "it seemed she could be aggressive." (?) All she was doing was smelling around the front area where my kids and I were standing! She has never once been aggressive towards anyone, family or visitors to our home or on the street. We even have a 2 and a 4 year old at home who play with her without aggression issues. It was almost like they just didn't want to groom her, which doesn't seem to make any sense, but they did have a long wait prior to talking with us and had others waiting behind. Maybe they overbooked and were looking for an excuse to lighten their caseload for the day, but it was a very unprofessional and frustrating experience. read more

Not very happy. Lost/ stole my dogs rabies tag and licenses. I took my brand new puppy there to be groomed. I had just recently got him from the human society. Where I purchased the tags. They were on his collar like they are suppose to be. When they gave him back to me they were gone. Then they acted like they were never there. They said they would give me a call back if they found them. I said no that they would call either way and they would have to replace them. They said that I would have to repurchase them and they would re-emberse me. Which is crap. Also, the groomer decided she need to lecture me about brushing my dog even though I told her that I had just got him from the human society and the reason why I brought him in was because he needed to be groomed in a bad way. It didn't look like the previous owner took very good care of him and the human society didn't have time to groom or brush him every day. She didn't listen to anything I said. The cut was very poor it was very choppy and shorter than I wanted. He was almost bald on his tummy.. I asked for a puppy cut and he came out looking like a papillon. Mind you I do know quite a bit about grooming since I did it in high school for a dog grooming resort. Regretting that I don't have my equipment anymore. I am so disgusted with this Petsmart location! My dog has been getting groomed there for the past 2 years and we have always had great experiences with the groomers there until about 3 months ago... I brought my 4lb Yorkshire terrier in and the groomer was very rude to me and acted like she didn't want to be there and like she didn't care about my dog. I asked her if she could put the collar around his chest instead of his neck when they groom him because of problems with collapsing trachea. When I went back to get him, she was still very rude and complained about how "wiggley" he was. Needless to say, but I did not tip her. I went back about 2 months later to have my dog groomed again and everything was great. I recently had another appt scheduled when the store manager called me because the same groomer was going to be working with my dog and he said they would do the appt tonight but after that I should find some place else to go. I am still so very shocked and I will NEVER step foot into another Petsmart again! read more

I took my 32 pound corgi/shepherd mix into the Madison East side PetsMart to have him bathed and brushed out with the furminator because he was shedding so much. Carlin never loves to be left at groomers or vets or kennels, but sometimes the end result justifies his discomfort and this was definitely one of those times! I get my dog groomed about every six months just to get him really cleaned up but the dog that met me when Matt was finished looked better than he EVER has! Don't let Matt's piercings put you off - he spent plenty of time with my dog and went over all the things he did including cleaning his ears, teeth, nails and even his anal glands (yuck). But the main reason I felt compelled to write a review is because now days later I continue to marvel at how great my dog looks! His coat is so much nicer and his tail has just been a plume ever since our visit over a week ago. I am delighted and will definitely be back asking for Matt.
