If they don't groom the entire dog and you bring them back to have it finished, you will be told you can no longer bring them to Petsmart Grooming Salon anymore. Shelby is rude and not helpful. They don't even deserve one star. Chick your bank account as they said they couldn't give me a credit for a return. But they charge my debit card 25.30 for a return which they gave me a gift 16.30. They are no minds thAt run the registers. Don't trust them. Also don't order door dash as the charge so much and don't bring the right stuff !!!!! Last night went to this store to purchase a second doggie door, we pick up the one we need that is like our current one and the shelf says $149.99 ( we could have gotten off Amazon cheaper but we like to spend local) we then get to the register and it rings up $179.00. We already had our card in ready to pay and I said that is not what the tag says, they call for price check look online at pets mart.com and since there was line behind us we moved out of the way not to hold things up not realizing I forgot my card in the machine. As we stand there and wait I realized wow I forgot my card, the guy that was behind us In That line had paid and left. I inquired about how did he pay with a card while ours was still in there. Well after 30 minutes of waiting for them to pull the receipt low and behold the guy behind me charged his $40 bag of dog food to our card. The manager was very unprofessional, Rude and should not in any way be in management. He would not refund the money, would not give us the receipt, would not give us the product. In fact the only way we could do anything is we had to call the police. We called the police and discovered this is a civil matter. They may have gained $40 but they lost $180 and any other money we would have spent there because we used to take our saint in there every sat for socializing and buy our 4 fur babies toys. That will never happen again ! I will spend all my money with Champion here in Joplin a local family owned store that cares about more than a dollar. I give Negative star read more

Recently we have been going to Petsmart because my dog passed a few months ago and we got a puppy last month. The staff have all been very friendly every time we go. I have also noticed that the store is much cleaner than what I have seen in the past. I'm taking into consideration that this is a pet store. The store seems much less cluttered than it was before. Being well organized helps any business and they are much better now than they were a year ago. The dog food is very inexpensive compared to other places in the area that I have price matched. The dog toys are considerably higher in cost than other local stores. I felt the need to up Petsmart from a two star to a four star because I feel they have improved greatly with both their customer service and organization. I plan on taking my puppy to their dog training classes as well as the pet care clinic that is associated with the store. After both the dog training classes and vet visits I will once again update my review and post my experience. We continue to use Petsmart even though we got the puppy at a competing store here in the Joplin area. I keep a close eye on several pet stores here and at this time choose Petsmart because of their friendly and helpful staff coupled with the lowest prices on food (not toys). I will update my reviews to the best of my ability as needed so my fellow Yelpers will know my experiences with Petsmart. As of now, they seem to be doing a lot of things right. read more

We went in to get fish. The lady innthe fish area was asked if items in tank was for sale. She answered "everything is for sale. If you want it take it out of the tank. " when i got to the register they said i couldnt take it out of the tank because it was display only. Terrible service at the joplin store. I took my healer in on Monday the 6th to have the her groomed and her anal gland expressed 24 hours later she has gotten diarrhea and At the 48 hour mark she is bleeding from her rear-end so I call the store the assistant manager or the lady in charge or whoever she may be forwarded me to the groomers no answer got cut off called back same person forwarded me to the veterinarian 45 minutes before they closed thay said they couldn't see her so I have an appointment with a different veterinarian for tomorrow if you love your fur baby I would not trust them with there wellbeing read more

I just came back after having my Yorkie groomed, very upset! I told the girl trim the tips of his ears of his long dripping hair, that's all! I come to him to pick him up and all his ear hair was cut super short, really!!The whole cut is so bad and uneven. Will now be looking for another groomer, don't use a girl named Ashley, she destroyed my dog ! PetSmart you should be ashamed of yourself for hiring people like this! Well petsmart here it goes. I have given you all plenty of time to make it right and you failed to do so. Two months ago I made the decision I was going to take my pup to training classes. I set it up on the app. It said someone would contact me in 48 hours. No one ever did. I showed up to the store that day for class and the manager came and said the class would have be canceled since there were not enough enrollments. She then told me that the trainer would reach out to us. Okay great! I was a little disappointed for having to load my pup up and then be told this without getting a courtesy call, but I didn't get worked up. The trainer called me the next day and apologized and said that she could decrease the cost due to the miscommunication and that we could do private classes. We set up a appointment and show up the next time. Guess what? No trainer again! The manager came out and apologized and we spoke about rescheduling and that I would have to pay prior to the class. Why would I pay in advance since the last two have been canceled without any kind of courtesy call??? Not only that, but I was going to be charged more than the second quote that he trainer gave me because they are private classes. I'm sorry, did you just miss the fact that petsmart has failed to call and give me a courtesy call about my class being canceled not only once but twice? So I decided not to, I would rather bring my business somewhere that is able to keep their appointments in check. So I decided to call and complain about this issue. The district manager was suppose to call me within 48 hours. Well they did not after two weeks. So then I decided to complain again and have corporate call me. I was again told they would contact me within 48 hours. Guess what? They did not. Three weeks out, here I am making sure everyone is aware of my problem with the Joplin petsmart location. We purchased a German Shepherd and thought that training classes would be good so we enrolled her in classes at Pet Smart. The cost is high but I thought it would be worth it in the long run. WRONG.... the classes were a joke and none of the techniques are right. We dropped out after several weeks of giving it a chance. The instructor was not professional and really had no idea on how to train dogs. We recently enrolled Elli in a K-9 Unit training and the techniques that were taught to her at Pet Smart has only made this training more difficult. read more

we are regular customers of pet smart and most of the employees have been there for quite some time, although our most recent experience was a rather unpleasant one, as we have always purchased our pets from pet smart along with supplies and accessories, as well. when we recently inquired to adopt two pet hamsters and products, we were ignored for about 10 minutes, left standing by the hamsters, then approached by an employee and told " we cannot sell you anything, because you returned an animal " i said what?? exactly 4 months prior we exchanged a bird for a guinea pig. we were then told by him again " we are not selling you anything"! we were quite shocked and insulted as to the rude juvenile delinquent and unprofessional behaviour of the store associates as they treated us as we had done something wrong. so,,, beware if you purchase a pet and follow the exchange policy as it clearly states on the back of the receipt,, that you do indeed have 15 days to return for a full refund or exchange!!! although it doesnt mention that you will be treated rudely further down the road for doing so, just because an unprofessional store associate decides that they have the right to treat customers disrespectfully. my business will definitely be redirected to the many other pet stores in town rather than be discriminated against for returning a purchased pet that was not compatible to our household. the store associates need to be retrained in providing appropriate customer service. read more
