Where do I even begin? This PetSmart is a masterclass in incompetence and laziness. The vet is absolutely awful. Instead of listening or asking questions, the doctor told me not to bring my dog back until he's "well." Newsflash: my dog was never sick -- he had a simple food change. Zero effort to understand, zero education, zero concern. If you don't want to do your job, just say that. Now the grooming department... laughable. I was told on a previous call that walk-ins are accepted. When I called back to confirm, the girl on the phone said they don't take walk-ins -- then immediately contradicted herself by saying they do, they just didn't want to do it that day. So basically, policies change depending on how motivated the staff feels? Got it. The lack of professionalism here is embarrassing. No communication, no accountability, and no one seems interested in helping customers or their pets. It's giving "we're here for a paycheck, not for pets." Save yourself the frustration and take your business anywhere else. This place does not deserve your money or your trust. read more

I sat here for 3 1/2 hrs to get my dogs shots. I unfortunately do not have a car at the moment and could not afford to get an Uber to take him to another one . So after they checked me in I thought no more than an hr , boy was I wrong. They were walking around slow as I don't know what, while everyone including myself was sitting on the floor, why the floor you ask ? because they said the bench's were only for people that were to be called next or had just finished . Horrible customer service and when they finally seen him took forever again had to go get the vaccine even though they knew what he was there for. I swear I posted a review on this Pet Smart on Northwest Freeway about 6 years ago. Oh well. I remember I was grumbling about the fowl odor as I walked in. But now, it's so refreshing to coming here. I believe this was due to CoVid19 cleaning protocol. I couldn't believe my nose to actually smelling fresh cool air. I used to come in with my nose plugged and wished I had a mask on. Hahaha. I now wore a mask and wish I could take it off. I wish I live near a Pet Smart store. This place have more merchandise than Petco near my house. Customers are more mindful and quiet. Children are well-behaved. I didn't see many dogs. So I can't comment on those furry customers. read more

i've seen many, MANY horrible reviews about the grooming salon, but not much about anything else. this petsmart is the only place close to me that sells isopods/springtails that i know of. i am a reptile lover and have worked in pet stores previously (pet supplies plus, if you're wondering) and feel i need to talk about the conditions of the reptiles. the geckos and snakes are kept in enclosures FAR too small for their size, hardly ever kept at the right temperature/humidity, and are typically filthy. bearded dragons, no matter how small, should not be kept with MULTIPLE other beardies. the same goes for the leopard geckos. on many occasions, i've seen bearded dragons here have signs of metabolic bone disease (usually meaning something is wrong in their diet, or the temperature in which they are kept). on more occasions than i can count, i have come to this store for isopod cultures (my crested gecko eats most of hers). more often than not, if they even have isopods in store, they're dead. multiple times (even weeks-months between visits) the isopods have been dead and kept out so long that they have mold growing all over them. it seems as if the employees in charge of the animal care only pay attention to the crickets. i have only been able to find a living isopod culture twice in the 7 i've been visiting this store. while the staff is typically not bad, the treatment of the animals is. i fear i will have to start searching for other stores that may have isopods due to this locations inability to keep them alive. (update literally less than 24h later)- i went in today in search of lava rock for a drainage layer for one of my bioactives. the ONLY thing they had was $40. when i asked about having anything else, the staff was quite rude, and when told about the 2 separate dead isopod cultures, i was not so subtly followed around while calling my boyfriend about the issue. surprisingly, the isopods had not yet started growing mold. it's so careless how these people will keep dead isopods on the floor. how hard would it be to throw a small slice of carrot into the container? to check up on them and remove them from the floor when they die? once again, this store has proven to be unreliable, which is unfortunate because it's the only place close to me that (rarely) had isopods. read more

The staff is rude an inexperienced. Do not trust them with your fur baby. I took my 4 month old yorkie puppy who weighs 8 lbs to them for a bath, cut, shave, and toe nail clipping. They call me after an hour saying that "he was moving too much and would need to see a vet to get medication to sedate him" . Smh, They serious wanted me to sedate a 4 month old puppy for a bath and hair cut. They was second experience with them refusing my puppy. The 1st is because he was 1 day old over being 3 months and they said he "needed" a rabies shot to get a bath although my vet said he did weigh enough at that time. With all things, disappointments lead to blessings. I found "The dog house pet salon" in the heights. Rabies shot was not needed due to his weigh only bordetella, although he now has his rabies shot. They did the bath, cut, shave, teeth, and nails that same day!! The groomer assessed him when I came and said his "moving" would not be a problem, he's a puppy and they would just take their time. They also have daycare and overnight boarding. All the staff where extremely nice and helpful. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere for your dogs grooming. Always remember your money keeps these big companies with horrible service in business. Support businesses with good service/product and excellent customer service!! read more

I had 2 manufacturers coupons for my dog's favorite food, got a bunch of treats and spent over $50 easily. When scanning the coupons she handed one back, I said to her "you can scan both and keep them for your records"...she claimed I "can only use one" and I explained that I am a previous employee/manager at petsmart and have frequented many locations as a loyal customer for my dog in grooming. Although this was my first time here, I just moved here and I already don't want to return. I went to my car and the food rang up incorrect so I had to go back get in line and get my partial return for the discrepancy. I should've contacted a manager but it was very early, a line was already forming, I had other places to go and I explained myself well enough. As a previous manager and employee we honor the customer. We would give them multiple coupon discounts when they have them, we change the price for price match, we want them to come back knowing we care and are better than the competition. I'll try Petco. This place deserves zero stars. My dogs are active, hyper babies. This is the result of the "grooming" done. Happened in November 2017. The little one's wound was blamed on licking. Weird she'd never had that before and doesn't have that wound now... The big one's behavior was blamed on anal extraction. It wasn't our first time taking them, so we knew something was off. If you don't love animals, don't work with them. PERIOD. My dogs are as sweet as can be. Stop abusing our fur babies, PetSmart!!!! i took my Yorkie puppy there last week to get a trim. I specifically told them that I wanted his face trimmed. I also wanted around his booty and paws trimmed. when I picked him up he looked cute, I could tell the face was trimmed some. But when I got home I realized they barely groomed him at all! His ears are just as long as they were, one side of his bootie is trimmed the other isn't. I know the lady said he was wiggly, but come on...I paid $66!! never again! read more

I have used several groomers and by far I am happiest with this one. My Princess gets the EXACT cut each time. During the early days of CoVid our regular groomer was out and someone else stepped in for us. They are always friendly professional and time efficient. I am beside myself from my experience at this Petsmart grooming location. Unprofessional!! Gizmo had an appointment for Friday Sept.15th. I picked him up in the evening time around 6 pm. I was very pretty busy caring for my infant baby most of the weekend so I didn't notice the cut on Gizmo's neck right away. On Sunday evening my 6 year old daughters came home from being with their dad for the weekend told me "mommy Gizmo has a boo boo on his neck". I quickly responded "where show me?" I then check his neck and there sure was a cut on his neck the spot was the size of a quarter. I called Petsmart right away but it was closed the time was around 6 pm on Sunday. ( I am not rude nor am I a confrontational person). Early Monday morning I called to speak to a manager of the grooming department. I explained to the manager on the phone that Gizmo had his grooming done on Friday by a lady named Misty. I told her his neck had a scab wound the size of a quarter and it looked pretty red and puffy as well as having a little blood come out of the wound. The grooming dept manager happens to be Misty. She did not apologize to me for cutting Gizmo's skin. She actually sounded like she didn't want to admit she cut his skin, she however said she went a little shorter on the hair on his neck..She told me to take him to the vet and bring an invoice into Petsmart and they will reimburse me for the cost. After I got off the phone with her and I called back to speak to the manager of the store and explained to him as well what happened. Ralph the store manager wasn't friendly nor did he apologize for the situation. He also said for me to take Gizmo to the vet and bring in the invoice to be reimbursed. (Banfield the vet clinic inside Petsmart at that location was closed for business a few weeks ago.) I made the an appointment for the vet near my apartment and Gizmo was seen and treated with an antibiotic as well as an anti-inflammatory. After the vet appointment I drove straight to Petsmart to show the Ralph the manager the invoice for the vet bill so I could be reimbursed. Ralph was on break.. the employee who was ringing a customer up asked me what I needed. I asked if there was another manager I could speak to? Sonya was her name and she said to me "I am a manager". I then explained to her what happened and she said they would need to fill paperwork out and submit it to corporate for them to handle the situation and reimburse me for the vet bill. ( it took over a week for the check to come & I had to pick it up at this location). Sonya wasn't friendly nor did she apologize for the incident. I showed Gizmo's previous groomer the picture of the cut and she told me this happens from not sharpening blades or using blades that were broken. I am upset due to the fact that I paid about $65 plus a tip for Gizmo's grooming service and he was injured. I had to pay out of pocket for a vet bill to treat Gizmo. I was NOT apologized to by 3 people who are on the management team at this Petsmart. This experience has been a horrible one. I think it is fair to be reimbursed for the vet bill as well as the money I spent for the grooming service since I was NOT satisfied with the service nor treatment. I was NOT reimbursed for the unsatisfied grooming cost, only for the vet bill. RIDICULOUS!! I honestly do not know how they stay in business seeing as how this happens to other dogs who come here. Not to mention Misty the grooming manager is still there hurting other dogs. read more

I'm pleasantly surprised by these groomers! This Petsmart definitely deserves these stars--and more! My only complaint was my Yorkie, Napoleon was sooo thirsty and starving when he came home. I don't know if they have water to give, or if it's against their policy, I didn't ask. Napoleon was so messy bc of the storm we had. He looked like an orphan! I love his haircut! And then they sent a picture to my email and he seemed happy. UPDATE: I really didn't like the latest grooming. I asked for the 'sanitizer' cut. I had to wipe my dog's rear end when he went to the potty. I don't think he was cut right--if any, around his rectum. I am still wiping his butt. Update for April's cut!!!!!!!! Napoleon has a file that says he is seriously allergic to SLS, common in shampoos. I got him home and he started letting me know something was wrong. He was beet red on his little belly! He was whining so pitifully--it broke my heart! I rushed to give him liquid Benadryl! I checked with his vet and gave him 3 ml. I'm so disappointed in whomever cut him! I called Petsmart because if he wasn't better when he woke up I would definitely get him to his vet! Update: Napoleon developed a skin infection from the skin being shaved too closely. I've never had a problem with Petsmart Grooming until my grooming appt on 3/22/19. I was told on March 12 over the phone when I made the appt for my cat to get groomed it would be done by Amanda. I came to my appt and the girl that did my cats haircut didn't even mention she was the groomer doing it until another groomer told me when I came to pick her up. She never mentioned that oatmeal shampoo was extra . I had to pay for the groom before I could get my baby and when I got the bill it was not worth paying it because when I saw my cat groomed it was terrible! She had patches of hair and dirty ears and long hair on legs when I told her for the groomer to shave completely. I hope no one brings their cat to see Misty because I never will! I fully recommend bringing your cat or dog to be groomed by Amanda she's awesome and have not had any problems! read more

Do not bring your pet here! I have been here once a month for the past 3 months and have had not one great experience. Furthermore, I have only had 1 experience with this place that could be described as "ok" the other two times have been horrible! First time: "OK" Experience. After moving from California, we thought it best to get our pup (Maxwell) cut in preparation for the incoming spring season. Now, he's been to a Petsmart, Petco, or PetCut Groomer once monthly since he was about 3 months old and he is one of the chillest dogs to groom. (for example, at the Petsmart we frequented in CA, his groomer (Tracy) would always tell little shenanigans he pulled like falling asleep when getting his nails ground, or trying to kiss her while she's cutting him). So I should have paid attention when he gave me the "deer in the headlights" look and darn nearly refused to go to the groomer at this location. As I said, this was just the usual cut/bath experience nothing really to report. Read on though...it gets worse. Second time: Warning signs go up When dropping him off, he again gave me the look and the groomer had to pick up him and take him to get groomed. When we got him back, the cut was nothing like we wanted...it was too long, they didn't trim the tail and the shave as very uneven. BUT It's only fur so I didn't make a big deal about it, thinking that it may have been a new groomer or something. I will also mention here that I called twice, got put on hold, passed around from person to person each time until finally the third or fourth person to get on the phone was able to tell me if he was ready to be picked up or not. Third and LAST time I will ever visit this place. The. Worst. Experience. Period. We only do early morning appointments. I know the process usually takes about 3 hours so I figure, drop off at 7 pick up at 10. We have a whole routine, he gets groomed, if his report comes back that he was good, we let him pick out a toy, then we get get breakfast, go home. Everyone is happy. This is how it went down: 7:00 AM - Drop off Maxwell. When I got there, there was somoene in the back of the grooming parlor blowdrying something so she didn't hear me come in. I waited for about 5 mintues before I started inquiring if they could hear me. At 7:07, another customer joined me with her dog. We waited for another few minutes. Then the lady, who apparently had more important things to do than I, marched straight back to the back of the grooming salon and got the customer service rep to come help us. I would like to mention that whilst we were standing there, TWO Petsmart employees were at the cash register. Both saw us waiting, did not acknowledge us or seem to even care that we had been waiting. Eventually, we got our business handled. 10:30 AM - I know that we usually pick up our dog around this time, but I didn't receive a call that he was ready. So I called, was put on hold, transferred, put on hold again, transferred again and finally told that he was not ready. 11:30 AM - Repeat of 10:30 scenario. 2:30 PM. I called, was passed around 4 times before someone told me that he was ready and had been since 10:00 in the morning!!! I. Was. PISSED. I picked him up. First of all, he ran so fast outside and had to relieve himself so bad that he both defecated and urinated AT THE SAME TIME. Mind you, he had also NOT EATEN all day. When expressing my frustration to the clerk, I was given this: "Yeah...it's been busy today", no apology for not calling at 10, no apology that he had been locked up for hours without food, or a place to relieve himself. I left that place FUMING MAD and will never go back to that location again. However, I did go to Petsmart Willobrook this past weekend and had a marvelous experience with Heather. This grooming salon is the worst! I initially let a bad haircut slide but yesterday (1/7) I took in my dog for a bath and when I picked him up. He had an eye injury! When I asked what happened, I was given a very vague answer & was pretty much told there was nothing else they could do. After having to make a big scene and have the manager of the store not the grooming salon, who which by the way gave an excuse that she had rinsed his eye out and there was nothing else she could do. The store manager refunded me the bath fee & made an appt for a banfield vet. The point here is how do you drop off your pet perfectly fine and then pick them up with an eye injury? I would not ever recommend anyone to take their pet to this grooming salon, not only do they not do a great job at cutting hair, clearly they don't know how to bathe a dog without giving them an eye injury. The grooming salon manager is rude and very unapologetic on a mistake she made. If my dogs eye injury is cause for surgery, I will be seeking a lawyer. read more

I really like the grooming department here. Amanda is my favorite! She's super sweet and knowledgeable. I trust her with my baby Athos, and he comes out looking great and happy. I usually always get him a flea bath, shampoo, and trim once a month. Also, the store manager and the lady trainer are very nice. The lady trainer (wish I knew her name) was at the checkout yesterday afternoon seems very passionate about her job and knows so much about dogs. Got lucky with this place! read more

If you have zero star I will grade for the grooming department. I bring my dog every 2 months and spent around $70 every time. Every time they keep asking my pet shot record, and my pet's record will expired in August 2017, I asked them to update in their system, but they didn't. I hated my 2 puppies haircut , they are always negative in the grooming department. It's always the same groomer telling me my dog has an ear infection. We took our dog for a grooming and we payed for the complete grooming package which included: bath, hair cut, nails trimmed, ear cleaning, and they offered a teeth cleaning for an additional cost of $22. When we got there to pick him up, his hair cut (head and tail) was not blended in properly like we had requested. He smelled worse then when we had dropped him off and we complained about it and the associated didn't pay attention to us and insisted they had washed him. We got home and decided to give him a bath and not to our surprise the water was coming out dirty because he hadn't been cleaned. Whilst bathing him we noticed they hadn't cleaned his ears either! Then we checked his teeth and they weren't brushed as well! We payed a total of around $80 for all these services and it seems like the only thing they did was cut his hair and nothing else...never again will we take our dog for their grooming services nor we recommend anyone to take their dog here for grooming for their lack of ethics and honesty. read more

Andrew, that's what happens when you take your pet to a corporate establishment. It's the same as thinking a Lowe's employee is an expert on everything that has to do with carpentry. Truth is, these are not professionals and you don't even have to know how to groom to work there. You exhibited classic annoying customer behavior to the kids that work there by becoming indignant and "marching back to the back" because the girl blow drying some one else's dog didn't have psychic abilities and sense your presence. That is why they gave you the run around and didn't let you know your poor doggy was done. They simply did not like you. The same way I hated customers who thought the world revolved around them when I worked in customer service. Why should I drop what I am doing for someone who came BEFORE you and let you cut in? They were probably understaffed, underpaid, and not professionals. You want better customer service, don't go to the walmart of grooming. p.s. Reading your comment I thought you were a naggy old woman by how you were talking...Nothing you complained about would have made me mad. Personally, I love Pet Smart/ Petco. The groomers are great!
