We used to stop at PetSmart and Petco quite a lot, but while other stores have gotten more expensive, these stores have gone off the charts astronomically overpriced, to the point that we can't afford them. We still like them and they're cute, but when in here you also have to specifically avoid the pet sections otherwise I end up with a broken heart, or extra cats, usually both. But yeah, definitely a great place to come and shop for pet stuff. Walked into the salon, and I had a young male check me in, alshon was in the back and came up to ask questions and confirming what I would like. Shave down to a 4, clean feet, clean face, and DO NOT CUT LASHES, and trim down top knot. I left and was asked to come back at 3pm. I walked in and asked the salon to send me the invoice online. I paid and looked up and I seen my poor dog. SHE LOOKED A HOT MESS! Ears are cut up literally! Top knot, she doesn't even have any, he cut off everything that makes her a poodle. It's such a choppy haircut. There is no professional cut ANYWHERE! I trusted him to make sure he understood what I wanted, and I feel like he rushed her cut to leave like he was trying to do earlier when I walked in. I am utterly disappointed & disgusted with his skills and will never bring my baby here again. She has a HUGE BALD SPOT ON HER EAR BECAUSE HE SHAVED HER!!!!!!!!!! I have had to ask an associate to see if they gave more in the back because none on the shelves almost every time I go there. I'm absolutely disgusted by my experience at this groomer. I brought my two 4 month old Yorkies Roux and Chanel in yesterday for hair cuts with Kerra. First, I asked for the hair to be lightened up on their ears as it was weighing them down. The groomer looked at me like I was stupid and said that wasn't going to matter, that "some dogs ears lay differently" I told her yes I know but their ears were up, but now the hair is weighing them down, the breeder I work with had the same issue, and with a little trim, her yorkie's ears went straight up. Please just trim it. Next I wanted an all over trim on both dogs so I booked full haircuts so that everything I wanted could get done but she told me that the girl only needed to be charged for a trim unless I wanted a more drastic haircut. Next and most importantly, she said my boy yorkie Roux had so much matting and had to be shaved. This is just not true. He had a bit of tangling near his legs because his hair is very thick but he is brushed every day. She made me feel so bad about his hair that I said yes, shave what you need to shave but keep his body longer, just short enough to blend well with his legs. She showed me the length it would be and though it was a little shorter than I wanted, I said ok because it still would look ok. When I returned and saw my babies, I wanted to cry. She butchered their haircuts. The girl looked like she hadn't even been touched, which is awful but that was a blessing because she shaved my baby Roux down to his skin except for his ears. The one thing I wanted to be shorter. He looked ridiculous. I asked her to at least fix their ears like I asked for, I took my puppies, paid the ridiculous amount for their grooming (with a dematting fee added, although she did no dematting) and went home. I have countless witnesses who have seen Roux in the last few weeks and can attest that his hair was not matted. He is a very well taken care of dog. I have been a yorkie owner for 15 years. I have had a yorkie with floor length hair and never once has one of my Yorkies had to be shaved like this because the groomers knew how to do their jobs. This so called groomer that shaved him was just plain lazy. She tried to deter me from cutting more of Chanel's hair because she wanted less to do and then buzzed off Roux's beautiful hair. Today I went to purchase a de-wormer for my dog at the Coppperfield PETSMART. I noticed the price was higher on the shelf than the price I had saw online. I asked the cashier Marcko if he could price match for me. I forgot my phone at the house but he insisted he wouldn't be able to pull up the price for me. I thought this was very rude. I went to PetCO yesterday and they had no problem matching the price on their phone as a courtesy to me. I wish Petsmart would do the same. I was upset but I bought it anyway. I went right home and got my phone and went right back up to the store to price match and show the price on my phone. It was a huge inconvenience that I had to go all the way back home just for a price match from their own website. I did a refund and re-purchased my item saving me a total of $16.50. Had it been a small difference I wouldn't have bothered with the trouble, but that's a lot of money to let slide like that! Not only was MARCKO not helpful he had the nerve to ask me if I opened the box!! I said, " Uh no, I just bought it and came right back within 15 minutes". I literally could go on about how Marcko was low key being a smart ass. It was obvious he was trying to give me a hard time. I will never shop here again. If the store manager reads this or corporate... I recommend you step up the training of customer service and courtesy to customers. He gets cleaned, cut, nails clipped, dipped, etc. 1-2 times a month ... and yet I can't remember the last time I got my nails done. But he deserves it. And, surprisingly, PetSmart's groom shop delivers. The in-store items may be above the average price scale, but the groom shop is right on point of what I'm willing to pay. The standard grooming (with optional dipping), ear cleaning, nail clipping and bath is only $30. They even have treats and spray samples at the check-in. But the sprays aren't needed. My little Texie-Mexie smelled the best he's ever smelled coming home from the groomer - like a citrus flower - and his coat was shining in the sun and soft to the touch. Aw, my baby. There are other grooming packages, so call/check online ahead of time. And you have to sign a form acknowledging that if they find any fleas on your dog, the price goes up. That's never been the case with Texas, but you never know... The only downside it that they are always booked, so you have to schedule days, if not a week, in advance. And my last check-in service was a hassle last time. They couldn't find my appointment, which took a long time. This rating is for the grooming department and customer service. I made an appointment online for my rescue dog to be groomed. He is going through heart worm treatment. There was a specific question that asked if the dog had heartworm and I answered the question yes. The auto response literally said "if yes, your groomer will discuss this with you at your appointment." So I thought it would be discussed at the appointment I made for the next day. The next day, they called to reschedule because they were "short staffed." When we showed up my dog was not found on the schedule. The lady and other dude behind the counter were visibly frustrated until finally the lady said "I guess I do it." This obviously made me uncomfortable. Side note- The lady assisting me was wearing a black lace veil as a mask. I was informed by her manager that this was approved by HR for her medical condition. I am in healthcare and I truly believe this is a crock of crap. I went ahead and provided the records, and began to "remind" them that we need to discuss his heartworm. The lady immediate said that they won't take him in if he has heartworm. Obviously this was a problem and inconvenience to me because one, I had made plans running errands. And two, my shaggy rescue dog needed a professional hair cut. As I walked out the door annoyed, I said nothing. What else was there to say? The other dude decided to sarcastically tell me to "have a nice day!!". Just wow. I informed the store manager of the misinformation and utter annoyance of the situation. He was semi understanding but seemed stressed out. He tried to compensate for the bad experience but I still think those employees were entirely out of line. Took our pup for her first groom this past Saturday 2/1/2020 without an appointment. They had availability so we left her. Picked her up a few hours later and was amazed at the beautiful job Matty did on our baby! She didn't even look like our pup! This is for the grooming department ..I'm writing this review because I want the people who had their dogs there today to know their dogs weren't being treated the way I would want my babies treated. Saturday, 7-24-21. I dropped off my 14 year old miniature Poodle for grooming at 8AM. One of the groomers did the pre-grooming check and discovered no issues. If there were any issues, I was not made aware. Around 9AM the groomer called and said they couldn't complete the grooming due to a loose tooth on the right side of my dog's lower jaw. I was surprised .... what does a loose tooth or furthermore a dog's dental health have to do with grooming? When I came to pick up my dog shortly thereafter I was shocked and appalled! They were returning my dog to me half groomed! See the attached photo. I couldn't believe they were really returning my dog to me in this condition. I immediately called for a manager. I asked the manager on numerous occasions to "make this right" and finish grooming my dog. He refused each time I asked. I told him I would show the 5 customers waiting in line how they butchered my dog if he didn't "do the right thing." He refused a final time and I proceeded to show my dog to the awaiting customers. To say the least, they were all surprised. In fact, one customer decided they didn't want their dog hacked in the same way, so she left the store. She met me outside and gave me a list of pet groomers in the area. Funny, PetSmart wasn't on that list! I took my dog to Paws (8110 Jackrabbit Rd., 77095) and they immediately (without any notice) took my dog and completed her grooming. Thank you Paws for the great customer service! For over 10 years, every other month, I've taken my dog to PetSmart Copperfield for her grooming, and this is the way my dog and I were treated. Shame on you PetSmart! I like that they took us in at the last minute on a busy Saturday afternoon. JD's appointment was for two thirty. We went in and two techs were working. The dogs seemed friendly and calmed, even if thought they were there for grooming. We know that when you take your dog to the groomer, it tends to be a all day thing, but they had JD ready within three hours of us dropping him off. When we got back, JD wasn't even stressed out. When I tell you one of the nastiest groomers I have ever met (I've had my dog for years and lived in multiple states) works here I am not exaggerating. He is so full of himself and he thinks he knows better than a veterinarian. I tipped well when I used to take my dog here too. So I made an appointment for my dog to get her shots and nails trimmed and to be put on the wellness plan..after keeping my dog for 6 hours I received a call from the doctor telling me that not only could he not perform the procedures he was ordered too.(inclufing nail trim).but my dog was uncooperative..now here's the thing..I have absolutely NEVER had a problem taking my dog to the vet or anywhere and had a problem but this guy she had a problem with..I personally think that animals can sense evil and he was evil because the "report" he gave me was BS. Been going to PetSmart grooming for many years now (529 & Hwy 6 location). Alshon is awesome! The cuts are consistent and great! He has helped with everything from flea situations to getting rid of tear stains. Just yesterday when our dog was ready to be picked up, I received an e-mail with a photo (like he was on the cover of a magazine). It was really cute and a very cool idea. PetSmart now offers online booking of grooming appointments, which I really like. Adding online (or grooming area) paying (and tipping) would make the experience even better! read more

They are overpriced, Petco has all the products they have and you get discounts left and right.

The animals here are not cared for properly at all. The enclosures are poorly maintained. The chameleon is cared for incorrectly. It is not being hydrated with a mister/dripper, which is the only way these will consistently drink. The ball pythons have live crickets thrown into their enclosures for feeding instead of mice. Constrictors cannot and generally will not eat crickets, as they cause impactions in their digestive systems and the crickets will actually feed on the snakes. The enclosures for both have the wrong substrares. The soil is unhygenic for chameleons (it has an ovious fungal infection) and the aspen bedding dangerous for these snakes' respiratory systems. Either the staff is not trained in handling what are supposedly common animals for PetSmart to be keeping on hand, or they simply do not care. The negligence here is palpable. read more
