First time at this PetSmart on Katy freeway was because a nearby Petco closed early. Oh well. So I'm trying PetSmart and loved it. My cat is in his senior age and requires a very specific diet. I found this pet food store being on the route going home in Chinatown. It's ideal to come here after shopping at IKEA. The website has very accurate inventory about cat foods. So here I was to buy what I needed. As far as cat food is concerned, their shelves are more organized and more stuff to buy than all the Petco stores I have shopped combined. I initially came in to look at the pets and asked questions about a bearded dragon. The employee working that evening responded with a very poor attitude, as if she didn't care to help or sell anything. When I asked basic questions, she acted like she didn't understand me and offered no useful information. When I asked about prices, I received little to no help. I left the store and went to my car, but decided to return because I needed a birthday gift for my brother, who was excited about getting something special. I told him to ignore the attitude and just focus on what he wanted. Unfortunately, the service did not improve. When I asked the cashier for help, she simply said, "The girl who's going to help you is standing over there," and made no effort to assist. The other employee I was directed to was also unhelpful and uninterested. To avoid any further issues, I told them not to worry about it and decided to purchase the bearded dragon anyway, along with a cage. There was a promotion for both the animal and the cage, but the cashier acted as if she didn't know how to apply the special that was going on for members or didn't know what she was doing. During checkout, the employees made comments between themselves that were clearly unprofessional and uncomfortable, and I understood exactly what they were implying. I chose not to argue because I just wanted to finish the purchase and leave. Both employees had their name tags flipped, and the receipt does not list their names, so I was unable to identify them. Last week I made an appt to have my little dog groomed for this past Sunday morning. when my dog Missy Rose and I arrived I was told they did not show she had an appt. And they don't do Express appts on Sundays so it must have been a new girl who set the appt. So another appt was made for Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 8:30am. Missy and I arrived at 8:25am and was told our groomer, Cindy was not there yet so we would have to wait. We waited until 8:50am. then went to tell the people at the desk we were leaving. No one was at the desk to tell we could not wait any longer. later, I received a voicemail fron Brenda she could groom my dog at 12:30pm. I called back and left a voicemail asking her to call me. I brought my two Australian shepherds in for a scheduled and confirmed haircut/bath. One is deaf. I told them in person several times, in the notes while booking, and they even have it on file because he was groomed there before. They wouldn't accept the 7 month old puppy's rabies tags even though it had the traceable number, his name tag attached, and the current year. So i left with the knowledge that only of my dogs (the deaf one) would get groomed. I just wanted a profile trip to clean up around his belly and paws. The groomer says that there's no matting but they'll brush him out (even though he just had a blowout at another salon) and that she's going to go ahead and add a dematting charge and only remove it if brushing takes less that 10 mins. Mind you, part of the haircut has a 15 minute brushing session anyway so she just wanted to charge me extra. They take my dog back with my personal slip lead and don't return it. Most Petsmarts take everything off before they even do the health and matting check. Anyway, I get a call about an hour later saying that my dog is "moving around too much" and the groomer thinks my dog will get injured. She says that if something happens, the Banfield vet is closed so they would have to go to the emergency center. I asked if they had or were just going to do a bath then and they said "no because we don't want the mattes to get tight" like what???? I didn't hear her confirm that there was any matting and I even told her that he JUST rolled in grass and got some stickers/burs in his fur which were very visible. I asked again and she gave me the same answer. When I picked him up, he was screaming his head off so loud that I could hear him from the front of the store. He didn't stop until he walked through the swing door and saw me. He had foamy drool around his mouth and wide panicked eyes. The person that brought him out said that he "pooped all up in his crate" which is very unlike him. I apologized on his behalf. They said it's okay and that they had baggies to clean up. So this didn't JUST happen. He pooped himself before they called me and didn't tell me. The groomer said that I could bring him back in the middle of the week so they had more time and to schedule early so the vet could be there if he got hurt. Like bro...do you plan on hurting my dog? Then they suggested I take him to the vet to get put under or give him meds to calm him down. I thanked them as a polite goodbye and walked out. As the door is closing, I hear them start talking shut about my deaf dog saying "thank god" that he's gone. I get in the car and realize that the smell I was smelling throughout our trek back was HIM. The DIDNT EVEN WIPE HIM CLEAN BEFORE GIVING HIM BACK!!!! So I brought my dog in for a haircut just to leave with him traumatized to the point of pooping on himself AND they didn't even have the decency to even use a baby wipe. There were legit turd single berries on him that he smeared all over me and my car. This dog has been bathed and/or groomed monthly by myself and other professionals. I'm also a dog trainer and work at a facility where he attends events regularly including other dogs training sessions. He is not anxious, reactive, mean, or overly wiggly. It's a dog that can and has been handled by everyone at my workplace (20+ dog professionals). Suffice to say these groomers were lazy and didn't bother to take their time with a special needs pet. Instead they chunked him in a crate and stressed him out before during and after to the point of involuntary bowel movement All of the pictures were taken once I got home. Left work early to pick up my kid and get my dog to her 5pm appointment that was 45 minutes away. They refused my dog because she had "dark pee" after she nervously peed while the vet was feeling her, and then stepped in it with her dirty paws. It literally rained all morning so our backyard is super muddy. I told them that she has been perfectly fine, with no health issues, she had just stepped in the pee so of course it was "dirty". He stated he was going to ask the manager Cindy, who literally said nothing except she seems nervous. In which I said, of course she is but she's not aggressive and she never indicated it being a problem to service her, the guy just wouldn't do it. An absolute waste of time and money. Not to be confused with the place where Dave Gahan shops: that's DepecheMart. This is a pretty awesome location of PetSmart that Barbie goes to all the time whenever we're in the Memorial City area. I'm not sure what it does that makes it better than the others but we both agree that it just feels better than some of the ones that are closer to our house. So we'll drive extra to shop at this one sometimes. Bae says: I really like this Petsmart. Over the summer, my cats got heavily infested with fleas, and I needed to replace a worn out flea comb. This store had my favorite flea comb in stock. They have lots of food and toys for the fur babies. They hate the flea comb, though. (Notice she uses American spellings. Nice one Bae. However when I say that Sindy the salon manager had the audacity to publicly post this I was absolutely disgusted at the lack of professionalism and the blatant disrespect of not only her coworkers but her father. I got my first puppy 7wks ago and prior to getting her Belinda and Maddie helped me get all her and my nesting ready...make sure you get the coupon book...well worth it and also go to Petsmart online prior to buying something and put in your cart to save as they'll honor it at the counter. THEN...she just passed her first training sessions (I got private, but she has been socializing with other dogs and cats). I cannot say enough about Sue! We LOVE her. Now Banfield has been a lifesaver as it's a monthly fee for all my furbabies shots, general checkups teeth cleaning and discounts if for any reason your pet needs additional care. All the Doctors (Smith & Knight-he's no longer there, Lee) are phenomenal, then you have all the sweet techs and front desk, Adriana and especially Taylor (I'm sorry if I get names wrong...I've got puppy brain) is very calming and just a sweet person. Thank y'all for taking care of all my furbabies! Dolly got her first training certificate...super Fun a great start to her training! Since writing this I booked Pets Hotel stay...Dolly LOVED it! She got trained while there and puppy play time. She got "plays well with all dogs" PROUD MOMMA moment. Worse grooming experience at the Petsmart (Katy Fwy/Bunkerhill location). Please reconsider taking your pet here. I had a major issue with the grooming of my dog (her tail was shaved - she is a Maltese, and the tail should never be shaved), and when I politely mentioned this to the manager, her response was rude, defensive, and extremely unprofessional. I explained that I was not intending to get the groomer in trouble but wanted to bring the issue to her attention. There was no "I'm sorry this happened, let me look into it..." I also explained, that at the very least, the groomer should have called me before shaving her entire tail. I never would have agreed to this. I've taken my dog Winston here twice and I really like it for it's value and service! I took a chance because it's closer to my house and picked a random groomer. I love Edwin! He takes his time with Winston! While grooming, I can tell Edwin is very gentle and careful of Winston's ear and paws because those are his sensitive areas. Winston dislikes people touching those areas, including myself. I like how Edwin also gives me a recommendation on grooming, shows he cares and knows his dog breeds. read more

Do NOT bring your dog to get groomed here at this location, rude customer service !! I Dropped off dog, 20 min later, they call me to come back and pick him up. This was based on their poor/bad attitude and lack of customer service!! Telling them that ive had him groomed at other Petsmarts in New Mexico, Nevada after long hikes where he needed the treatment versus his current condition (at home in Texas) was bizarre to hear them complain and make excuses. Took my dog to get washed, blow dry, trimmed nails (BASIC STUFF). No cut. The 3 groomers in back all with poor customer service skills! They immediately declared matting (very little to non existent as he is groomed every 3 weeks and has been groomed at other Petsmart locations). When i ask to show me the matting , they pointed to tiny knot here and there NOT excessive or not an issue. When the master groomer Lindsay or Mandy, said we will have we get down to his skin i said not with those small tangles. We went back and forth debating the tangles and the discussion lack any customer service. When i told them i will be reporting them to corporate, they said "fine, do what you gotta do", customer service is non existent, makes you wonder how pets are treated behind the scenes. Let me start off by saying that I have tried several dog groomers through out the Houston area, and this particular location gets perfect stars because of the best dog groomer I've had cut my shihtzu's hair. Her name is SAMIRA, she is great with my doggies, and they love her. My sister in law discovered her, and when I saw her dogs cute cut, I had to take mine there. SAMIRA is very polite, takes notes of the way you want your dog cut, and sends you emails of your pets experience there. She also has a good memory of what your pets like, their names, and their favorite things, so it just feels personal and not just like a business when you go. read more

We moved to Spring branch about six months ago. Decided to try grooming at Petsmart since it was close by. I was a little hesitant because it was a chain and we are used to smaller groomers. Absolutely fell in love with SAMIRA. She is so awesome and thorough and very thoughtful. You can tell she really loves what she does. She really listens to what I need. She even Called me one time to tell me that she's going to have to cut shorter than what we talked about because of all the matting. I really appreciated that. She's very patient with my big fluffy dog. And Fynn looks so handsome and happy when I pick him up. She even calls ahead of time to tell me that he'll be ready soon so kennelling is minimized. He can be a picky eater so we always try to give him the same types of food. The whole store was really clean and I love how the store looked. Do not take your dogs here for "doggy day camp". I started taking my pup here on rainy days or days that I knew I would be extremely busy. I loved seeing how happy he was when I left him, and for the price I was excited to have a place that he could enjoy and would be safe! All was well and good until I came to pick him up one day and he wasn't where the dogs were.. so when I asked I was told that he was in "time out" because he was playing aggressively. He's a golden retriever 28lb puppy.. seriously?? He was put in time out? Fine. When I asked why I wasn't called- they didn't answer. Then I asked them to inform me if he's ever crated- they said they would. Today I picked him up and he was not there again! I asked where he was and the lady said, "oh she's in time out. She was playing aggressively.. I just put her there like 30 minutes ago.. she was there twice. It's been a busy day I didn't get a chance to call." FIRST of all, arlo is a HE. SECOND of all, I don't pay them to have him crated. If I wanted him crated- he would be at home! THIRD- he was crated twice?? And they didn't call either time?? FOURTH- his progress report (pic attached) showed that he was never crated! But he was crated twice. This place is a JOKE- if you love your dog don't bring him here.
