I had been going to Ginny's for probably 30 years to get my dogs done. I've had poodles and multi poos and a Yorkie and they have done an excellent job on every one of them - I've never had any problems. My dogs loved going there except my Yorkie, he's a rescue terrified of everything but when he's gone here he is fine. I know Ginny can be a little short, but she's a great person and the more you talk to her the better you like her Henry is a great guy and I just think that the negative reviews didn't give them a chance. She boarded my dogs and she groomed my dogs and I never had a bit of trouble with her doing any of these things I trusted her completely, and when I was out of town, and they were there, I never had to worry. The dogs always looked great smelled good and we're happy when I picked them up so give her a try. Ignore the negative reviews. People get their feelings hurt just because somebody isn't as happy and excited when they answer the phone, but they're very busy and sometimes just don't have time. They care more about the animals than answering the phone so please ignore the negative reviews and give Ginny a try I think you will be very happy with your service. read more

I just started taking my dog to Ginny's and they are awesome! They finished her haircut very quickly and she looked adorable. They are CASH ONLY! I didn't know and had to rush back to work and couldn't get cash. They basically said "pay us back soon!" I brought the cash two days later and everything was good! Really nice, friendly people. I really tried.. especially, because it is a small business owner. The first time was a good experience. The 2nd time, my mini schnauzer had really bad razor burns that scabbed up on her ears. The 3rd time, they cut her rear leg, and said it was already there when I had brought her. She was bleeding when I went to go pick her up... Since, they don't bathe.. I always take her clean. There was no scar/ scab on her hind leg the night before. They don't brush teeth, or cut nails... for $55 dollars. The 2nd & 3rd time when I tried to call for an appointment, she was short with me or told me to call back, bcs she was out to lunch with a girlfriend.. lol. Last, I'm all about exercise and express your political rights and preferences.. However, for a place of professional business- I don't want to walk in and see all your personal, presidential paraphernalia plastered everywhere. read more

In case you all dont know, I love dogs and I love eating. In my opinion the coolest grooming shop in Houston. Ginny the owner is an awesome cool lady. Henry the other groomer is a very calm man who loves birds. The place has 3 barriers so dogs are very safe. Amazingly, the place does not have a grooming shop smell. The design of the boarding kennels are sensible, spacious. I came here to board my 2 hoots for the weekend. Epsilon and Zetta my Doxies they love Ms. Ginny and they actually mind her. When you board the babies, the bath option is available with boarding. Having the peace of mind that your dogs are somewhere that if something happens, there is someone who knows what to do is priceless, I have never seen any dogs shaking over there. Ginny and Henry greeted us at the desk and quickly worked out what sort of trim would look good on his funny, mixed breed fur. He was done a short time later and they called me to let me know I could get him. His trim turned out just perfect. I guess I just am unlucky when it comes to Ginny's, or maybe my expectations are a little too high. The customer service wasn't great the last time around which, overall, makes for mostly bad customer service experiences. That combined with the fact that my dog always comes back stressed has made me look elsewhere. They might be a little cheaper than the nearby alternatives but I've decided I'd rather pay a few more bucks to have my dog in a more comfortable environment and get better service. It's still not a bad place for any particular reason if you ask me (some people in my neighborhood would disagree), but as a whole package Ginny's just didn't work out for us. read more

This place has been grooming my yorkie for years. The reason I love this place is because your dog doesn't spend all day here. At most groomers you have to leave your dog all day, but here when your dog is done you can come pick them up. Also, the dogs who are well known to the groomers and have been proven to have a friendly temperament are allowed to run around and play with other dogs instead of being in a kennel. read more

When I dropped him off in the morning they told me I could pick him up as early as lunch! I loved that I didn't have to leave him there the whole day. This isn't a churn and burn outfit where you're not sure who's going to groom your dog and whether they even care about your animal when you drop her off. Ginny has always been there when I've gone, and I like the open grooming area. My dogs are always are meticulously cut, and I can even run in for a quick "maintenance" trip for nails and glands when needed. We have a schnooodle and we love her long hair, only thing is her hair gets in knots and it's so difficult to brush her... so we took her to Ginny's to handle the tough work. Instead of keeping her hair long and brushing our Pup she was shaved!!! So sad!! We bring her back and instruct them not to shave and to brush the dog... near shave AGAIN!! Then me, the Dad of our Pup, goes to pick her up and learn that their credit card machine is broken and they're "too lazy" to get another one when in 2018 it is literally free to get Square cash card swipe or other alternatives so consumers can use debit/credit card- sounds like someone isn't paying taxes(sketchy). To top it all off my significant other and myself was admonished for not brushing the dog when that's exactly why we take her to the groomer. Still trying to find a regular place for my mostly-poodle, and I still have some places to try out, but I liked Ginny's. I dropped him off at 7:15 (they open at 7:00 a.m.) and picked him up at 12:30. He seemed to be the first client there that day, and the owner's poodles were playing tug of war while Ginny and an assistant got things ready. I liked that the whole area was open and you could see what was going on as soon as you walked in. I took him to a place in the Heights who were friendly and all, but they didn't really give me an idea of what they were going to do, or ask many questions about what I wanted. You also couldn't see the grooming area. It was the same as the boutique-y place in the Heights price wise, but I really felt that I knew what to expect when I picked up my poodle and the fact that the grooming area is open and all the groomers were very gentle and attentive to their charges was definitely a plus. read more
