Connector and might have to go back to our tried & true. =/ I dropped my chihuahua off around 10:35am and had to call them at 11:44am, because I had another appt at 12:30pm. Tried and true usually have her ready in 30 mins tops & she smells squeaky clean! I swear they must've just gave her a quick lil hoe bath at this location. lol When I picked her up, she still smelled like dog. One of the reps was "kind" enough to spray some smell good on her, but hours later - she still smells like she did before her appt. We came because my kids wanted a pet. The only thing we could get within reason were fish due to allergies from anything with fur. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by a cashier who was wearing a mask due COVID-19. On our way back to pick out fish I noticed some employees had on masks while others did not. The store was cleaned and the shelves were stocked. Once we reached the fish not all of the tanks were filled which is understandable given the COVID-19 situation. The gentleman was patient as the kids picked out their fish and aquarium decor. Once that was done, he showed us where there food was and gave me tips on how to clean the tank and care for the fish. I didn't have the best experience, but hopefully my experience was atypical. I came on a Sunday afternoon; the line was backed up from the register all the way to the vet area in the back (part of this length was the COVID-19 social distancing, but there were still probably fifteen people in line). There was only one register open. All the workers were certainly hustling or helping people, but the place seemed understaffed. I ended up waiting about fifteen minutes for help. However, once someone was finally able to get to me, that person was very helpful and gracious and courteous. This particularly store is not as large as the one in Acworth, though I imagine it would still have about everything you need. Getting in and out of this parking lot can be a real bear, depending on the time of day. Try to come at an off hour if you can. PetSmart as a company is an excellent company that does a lot for pet rescue, so I like to give them my business where I can. read more

I took my puppy in for grooming and they were very professional and nice. They treated him like he was their own. We don't take him often for grooming, as we wash him at home a good bit. But anytime grooming is needed, I will try to take him there. read more

We have been using PetSmart for a year now and they always do an amazing job with our Lab. He has anxiety and bad skin allergies and they have been able to get his skin allergy under control and has great skin/hair again. I'm not in the market to buy a pet at this particular time. We just left our cousin's home, who has two adorable pet dogs, that my daughter enjoyed playing with. Therefore, she wanted to go by the pet store to look at more animals. Well, immediately upon entering the store, there was a slight foul odor. That immediately let me know that someone was not staying on top of their clean up job. The staff there was friendly, and we received a warm welcome upon entering. The store itself was a little stuffy. Either the air conditioning was not working, or they had to keep the store a certain warm temperature for the animals sake. This was a very hot July day in the south! Either way, I've been to other pet stores where there was no noticeable odor, and the temperature was comfortable. read more

Went in expecting to pay $98 for a bath and haircut for my pet. Came out paying $117. When I explained that I wanted her to take a trim no shaving the groomer made me feel as though what I was asking for was not good for my dog and that she will get sunburnt and said that a furminator is better and $10 cheaper. So I'm said ok unsure if that really made sense. Came to pick my dog up and ended up paying $117. I called a manager to ask and she said well you should have been charged more because she had to be bathed three times. I'm sorry I didn't ask for three baths. I only asked for one. And they botched her tail and shaved her ass. Completely not what I asked for. Manager did not care that I was happy and said "well you signed the paper with the price so what do you want me to do" I will definitely never be bringing any of my pets back here. read more

I hadn't been in a large chain store for animals in ages. I wanted to see what this one is like because it looks so pretty and clean from the outside. It reminded me of a toy store, but for dogs. I was greeted with smiles as I entered. I looked around and the prices are what I expected...its a large chain store. It was clean and looked well organized. The only thing that stood out the most is the lack of cashiers. I made a purchase for my grand dog and waited in a long line with one cashier. I don't think that was feasible for a busy Saturday. Even though the check ins don't show it I have been to this location a couple of times. We come here specifically for grooming. My puppy Sherlock has had his nails trimmed three times here. All of our visits have been without issues. Today I was able to do a return while Sherlock was in with the groomer. The three girls that were in the grooming area were very sweet and helpful. Is the worst Pet smart I have ever been to.....I understand that this is the end of the day and people are tired but i suggest you just don't work evenings if you're going to have poor customer service.. I went in to get my dogs fab. Blue Buffalo canned food in the grillers because he's sick and not excited about eating so. Wanted to try his favorite... I didn't see the grillers so after looking for some help on multiple aisles I went back to the front cashier to ask for assistance and she says something to the effect of maybe i wasn't looking hard enough and at the end of the day they're closing soon so i can just come. This is specifically pertaining to the supervisor that was on duty tonight and on another occasion when I shopped at this location. It is very off putting when the supervisor won't even come out the office to explain a transaction or help the cashier with a code or help to relieve an extraordinarily long line. This is the second time that I've experienced this at this store location. The cashier did the best she could, but it would have been appropriate for the supervisor to at least come out of the office long enough to assist, explain why we couldn't complete the transaction or otherwise give some customer service. Grooming: 3 hrs to bath my Chihuahua... Arrived before the retail opened on a slow Tuesday. I was told that the bath and nail trim would take an hour. (Although, the Douglasville PetSmart usually has my 8lb dog complete in 30 min). No worries, I left and came back in an hr... I stopped the store for an additional 20 min before I went back to check on my "child". I was rudely asked if I had received a call. I then stated that I had not received a phone call but it has been over an hour and I was just checking on the status. I was then told that he had been washed, and was waiting to be dried. It would take another hour and to come back. I should have just picked him up right then and there and left. Instead I proceeded to wait it out. Surely they would not really take an hour. The thought of my little chihuahua sitting in a cold cage waiting to be dried infuriated me. When I picked him up I paid for his grooming and I left. I will no longer choose this location ever again to care for my dog again. read more

2 years ago the customer service was a lot better. I waited for almost 10 minutes before having to go to the register to find an employee to get me just a couple crickets. The store was no busy at all and employees were sitting on their phones, there's no reason i had to wait so long for a 10 second process. Fish tanks were also covered in ick and dead fish. I take my dog here every now and then to be groomed. At first the groomers were a little disappointing but they've gotten better each time. I've always been satisfied with my customer service... Until my most recent visit. One of their employees was talking to a customer, making comments like "well you can marry your cousin in Alabama" and "you never know what they're doing over there". Terrible. So after dangers last haircut which seemed okay I tried several times to book an appointment. Each time I.called they claimed to be booked, which seemed unusual. One day I went into the salon to book him an appointment and the lady said that he can only be seen by the manager because his notes said " he is crazy and wont even allow them.to pluck his hairs" why would they.keep such notes about my dog when they never even bothered to mention to me that there was a problem. We have a three year old Yorkie. He has been to Hiram Petsmart three times for grooming. The first time I did not notice anything amiss. The 2nd time he seemed off when I picked him up, and acted sad? for a couple of days. The third time when I went to pick him up his face was full of what I can only describe as terror and as soon as our eyes met I almost teared up. His desperate "thank God you're here Mom!" look told me something had happened. I remember that I was so upset by Rocco's behavior I called my husband on the way home to tell him that was the last visit to Petsmart. Although he didn't seem injured, he was not himself for several days. I am certain he was mistreated. I groom him myself now. It doesn't look great, but I will never take him back. I'm reminded every time I clip him because he is STILL terrified of scissors. He wasn't before. read more

Wanted to treat my dog to a nice day out. I asked if they accept Walk-ins. They said yes, so I asked for her to be groomed. They said they couldn't cut her hair, and acted like a bath was a huge inconvenience. My dog is only 3 pounds. It takes me 5 mins to bathe her and 5 mins to trim her but I wanted her to have special treatment. She smells clean but still looks scruffy. I will give her a cut at home and I will take her else where to be properly groomed next time. The staff at the front were great. I appreciate their smiles and service. read more

This review is in reference to the vaccination clinic that Petsmart hosts. This is not indicative of the rest of the store. Do not use ShotVet for any vaccinations for your dogs. My husband and I arrived at the Hiram location at 8:40 this morning to take advantage of the vaccination clinic taking place for two of our dogs. The clinic was supposed to start at 9am. However, at 9:10am, the technicians finally arrive and take 15 minutes to set up. Mind you, we are fifth in line and dogs are going crazy and are anxious. Before the techs get started, one of the techs quietly announces that we will need to pre-register by calling a number to get signed up. She holds the sign up with the phone number for about 10 seconds and puts it down so I have no way of getting the number to call. I'm also holding two dogs at this point because they're freaking out. At about 9:45, we finally reach the front and she informs me that we have to call the number to register or she can't help us. Frustrated, I try calling. No operator is available and I can't get an agent on the phone to do the registration. No one behind us was able to call and register either because they didn't have access to the phone number. At this point, we were frustrated with the lack of concern from the techs and the lack of organization. We left at this point at 9:50. The clinic was only open until 10am. Don't waste your time with this clinic. Poorly organized and frustrating for you and your dogs. read more

We have often purchased fish products from this particular location and recently we have purchased a number of dog products for our rescue dog. As you may know when you start to buy these items the dollar amount is always pretty high. We recently came into the store and wanted to take advantage of the pet rewards sale, but we did not realize that we had to buy these items online to receive the sale price. I would like to say that the manager of the store was extremely accommodating. He honored the sale price, even though we did not follow the correct method to receive the discount. The number of times we have dealt with the employees of this store to help us with fish questions, or any other questions, they have all been extremely helpful and we will definitely return to this location..... read more

I live in the general area of this PetSmart so unless I want to drive out of my way this is my only option. Based on today's events, I'll be finding another location to give my business to. What ever you do don't present this location with coupons unless you can prove that they are legitimate. Today I attempted to use a coupon for dog food that I printed from the PetSmart website. A very indignant cashier told me 'we aren't accepting these' & she called over a manager. This manager said in a very loud voice 'this coupon is fraudulent & we won't take them unless you can prove that you printed it directly from our website'. PROVE IT?!?! His reaction & attitude to me was that I'm a fraud & that I was attempting to get over on a corporation! The real shame is that I don't have dogs but I was using a coupon to buy dog food to donate to the local animal shelter as they have taken in a lot of dogs from both Texas & recently rescued a number of dogs from abuse & a hoarding situation. This is a prime example of a corporation that rather loose a customer forever than the remote possibility of loosing less than $10. Horrible customer service. It appears that this location does NOT like nor welcome minorities. The cashiers are always slow and rude. I noticed that if the lines are long, the cashiers wait until Caucasian people are in the line before they call for back up. This morning, I had a rather rude encounter with a supposed manager by the name of "Michael". He was rude and overcharged me (i think purposely). Take your business elsewhere even if you have to drive a bit further! read more
