I had an option this morning of a 7am or 8 am grooming appoint for my...I selected 7am since that would have worked out perfectly for my schedule today. I arrived at 6:55am and got out of my car at 6:59. No one answered the doorbell, an employee showed up but couldn't enter since the manager had not yet arrived, there was also another employee in her car waiting... long story short one employee call the manager at 7:26. He answered his phone and said he'd be another 25 minutes, which was completely unacceptable! Therefore, since the manager was an hour late, I had to leave because I had other plans. My pup has been groomed here over a year and I've always been pleased. I took Cairo in today and his cut was so botched. I explained that he did have some matting. The groomer, Edith, felt through his fur and said it wasn't bad. I told here there was matting on one ear and he would need to be cut shorter on his ears. She felt it and agreed. I received a call that Cairo was ready for pick up, at that time I was informed that Cairo wouldn't allow the clippers near his face. No worries, they told me that before. When I arrived to pick up, I was greeted by another groomer. All the groomers were grooming dogs, including Edith that groomed Cairo. Normally, she greets me upon pick up. This time she kept grooming and the other groomer stopped grooming the dog she was with. Edith never even looked up. I didn't recognize my dog. I can understand having to cut a dog low, due to matting but I would still expect it to be even. He was botched and his tear stains and fur under his eyes was untouched. When he's gotten a wash the tear stains lighten some. It looked as if she just took the clippers to him, carelessly. I don't normally complain but this was horrible. read more

My dog Lou was groomed by a woman named Aurora. She shaved almost all of the hair off of his ear, not leading to 1 but 2 cuts. He had to be rushed to the vet. My baby is traumatized and even 24 hours later is not himself. He's suffered a lot of bleeding and pain. I will never send him there or to any Petsmart. Management should have gone above and beyond since I have patronized this location many times, but failed to do so. If I could leave a 0 I could. read more

Do not shop here for dog food. It comes down to my own error of trusting them after seeing moths flying around the dog food area. A few months ago, we had a mysterious moth issue near the dog food bins in our home. I quickly made the inference that I had seen moths around petsmart and they were most likely coming from the food. We could never see the maggots when scooping the food. We unfortunately threw away a huge bag worth because I didn't feel comfortable feeding it to my two dogs. We immediately switched to pet supplies plus. Some months go by and my husband decided to give petsmart another try, assuming it may have been a bad batch. Lone behold, BOTH dog food bags (different brands) had maggots crawling all over the food. Dog food is not cheap when you buy the big bulk bags. Unfortunately, it's Christmas Eve and i have my fingers crossed that pet supplies plus is open to make sure my dogs can eat today. I will never ever step foot in this place and that's unfortunate because we loved Heather and her training courses. read more

I enjoy this location. The trainer is fantastic and my puppy adores her. I also like that I'm able to pick up affordable pet supplies, toys and food for my dog after training which is convenient. The staff is friendly and the environment is great. The grooming department is the issue and I doubt I'll return. The person that actually grooms my dog is nice, but the other staff members are rude and nasty. Today was the final straw. It doesn't make sense to continue to take my dog to a place where the women cannot be bothered to show common courtesy. It's such a shame because other than the groomers it's a great location. read more

PetsSmart - Evergreen Park Grooming is a pitiful place for any loved dog. If you don't care about your dog and just want subpar service, this is the place for you! My dog was there from 10:10 am until nearly 8 pm. I paid over$80. My dog looked okay. He was washed and dried properly. He did not receive perfume, nor a bandanna. I pay $60 at my normal groomer and he looks beautiful and smells good. He even receives a tie! I feel badly for posting this review because the final groomer ( my dog started with the head groomer and was passed to another) was okay. I didn't like the fact that she complained that my dog barked all of the time he was there! ‍ This was a terrible experience for my dog and me too. This is the worst place you can take your dog to for one they are very expensive, the groomers have an attitude problem. My cousin took his puppy Yorkie to get his hair cut and he stated they wanted to charge him a $70.00 dollar just cut a puppy hair. He told me petsmart in evergreen is on some bull and they are. I have a rescue dog. The owner died. So I called them and asked the groomer how much would it cost to groom the dog and they told me if I give the dog a bath they would charge me $45.00 but they lied and charged me $80.00. They didn't bath the dog they just cut the hair for $80.00 dollar. People don't take your dog to this Pet smart in evergreen Park this is one uncaring place for you sweet animals. This is why a lot of people can't afford to keep there dogs because of a uncaring place like this. This place should be closed to the public. read more

I went to the Evergreen Park location today to get my dog a dog tag. The young woman there I think her name is Karina? Katrina? I forgot after she told me :-(. But anyway she was so nice and helpful helping me get this dog tag. She was kind, respectful and just plain friendly. You really don't find that type of worker anymore these day so I wanted to make sure I mentioned how great she was and how well she does her job. The grooming department: Jalexis has the worst attitude in there I would not be coming back to this location. She gave me a problem when I walked in for my appointment. Lied about the service I booked and gave me a problem with my dog's records. I never experienced that at this location before must be under new management. read more

This place is awful. Total rip off! You wait 30-40 minutes just to drop off your pet and they charge exorbitant rates for routine exams. We paid over $500 to treat a simple ear infection. Something is not right here. Seek out your local private vet and avoid this place at all costs. The costs are high and the quality is low. Also, the PetSmart groomers are terrible. We had my pug's nails clipped once and he had bloody paws. My friend's poodle returned with cuts on his ears. It's heartbreaking to walk past there and hear the dogs crying in pain as they are being groomed. And they do not clean up until the end of the day, so the room is dirty. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to a private vet and groomer, and order your supplies online. read more

Great experiences at this location--especially compared to their counterparts in the South Loop. At this location I'm always greeted upon walking in and they are actually always stocked with what I need for my dogs (unlike the South Loop location). DO NOT get your dog groomed here if they have or curly hair/fur. I have a 1 1/2 yr old standard poodle (who the woman insisted on calling a doodle) who HAD a full curly coat. It was curly, not matted! When I dropped him off I could run my fingers through his coat with no problem! The lady cut it all off because of a small bunch between his belly and hind legs then kept insinuating he was matted all over. WHICH HE WASN'T. She cut him low after I asked to keep as much hair as possible, then tried to hint towards his nails being too long - they were trimmed the week prior at the PetSmart vet. Did I mention it took her 5 1/2 HOURS!! FIVE AND A HALF! Then she had the nerve to complain about how active he was. He's a year and a half and has been getting "groomed" for over 4 hours. What did she think was going to happen?! The lady was rude, condescending, and arrogant. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I intentionally wanted his hair to be fuller because I am a curly girl and planned on taking graduation pictures where both of us had cute full curly fros. Now that is RUINED. I am NEVER taking my dog back there. Im better off grooming him myself. read more

Poor customer service, inexperienced groomers,poor management I was very excited to try the groomers at this location being that I frequent Mariano's grocery store next door. Unfortunately I will not waste my money here again. I arrived on time and my groomer was still working on another dog. Another girl checked me in and she seemed to be a new employee because she needed help with every single step. The manager seemed irritated that i asked questions and for her opinion as to which grooming package I should get. She kept saying "I don't know, its your dog" duh yeah its my dog but since you are the grooming manager i would like your opinion of what you think is best. I got all types of attitude from the time i stepped in the door. Then I asked well when should I expect him to be ready, and the groomer assigned to him said well I don't know i'm still working on a dog. Yes, I understood that but i was trying to gauge how much shopping I could get done inbetween the time. I stayed calm because I didn't want them mistreating my dog. His appointment was for 1pm. I get a call at 5:35 saying he's ready but fyi they close at 6. This made me very upset because even though I shop in the area, i don't live over there. So I had to practically break my neck to get there in time. I explained my concerns to the manager and she said, well we grinded his nails for you and we didn't charge you. Uhhhh, I didn't ask for his nails to be grinded, I wanted them clipped which was included in the packaged. So they didn't do me any favors. I paid $72 for him to get the furminator grooming package and to me he looks the same as if I took him to Soggy Paws and did the self dog grooming myself. Please don't waste your money or time dealing with this Petsmart, it is so not worth the frustration! read more

My pup and I have taken 2 obedience classes here. The room was too small for the large puppy class, but fine with the intermediate class because there were fewer dogs. The trainer Eric was fabulous and my little girl has much puppy-love for him ;o) Discounts for the classes were available and the things that I learned were worth the experience, regardless of the books I read. Grooming: I started here for grooming. With so many groomers, outcomes would differ, so I found it better to take the lead on communicating what I wanted. Prices more than doubled when she hit 5 months old (no longer eligible for the "puppy" price) though she is 10 pounds. I decided to switch to a groomer that charges according to size. read more

I had the worst experience here! I was attempting to purchase a dog bed that was on sale. When I got to the register, the bed didn't ring up on sale. After the manager James checked it he explained that it was stocked incorrectly. I let him know that I too, am a retail manager and in that case he should honor it. He replied, very snarky, "I was going to honor it. Just let me manage!" I told him to keep it, this Petsmart will NEVER get my money. He then said wait i was going to give you 50% off!I have had poor encounters with him before and I only continue to go there because my dog's vet is there as well. Only thing they need is a CAT GROOMER, please! This store has a nice selection. The people that work with the fish are knowledgeable. If I still had dogs they have a great selection and staff to help with that. Their cat selection is great too. The only suggestion I have is to get a cat groomer so I don't have to drive my fur babies 30-35 minutes to orland just for the occasional bath and nail clipping. This would be much nicer for them to go here seeing I live 5 minutes away in Beverly. Other than that- the staff is fabulous, they are knowledgable, kind, and friendly! read more

Terrible customer service in their grooming department. I made an appointment on a Saturday for Tuesday at 5 PM. I made the appointment online. I left work early today to bring her to the groomer and arrived at 4:40 PM. Upon arrival I was informed that they would not be able to accommodate the appointment because it wouldn't give them enough time to clean up so they could close on time. I said that I had made the appointment and that it was unacceptable for them to not honor the appointment when I showed up. They said that they attempted to reach me by phone today at 1 PM. However since I work during the day I did not receive the phone call on my cell phone, and therefore they had never confirmed the cancellation with me. My dog is seven years old and Petsmart is the only place she's ever been groomed, and I think that was a terrible way to treat a loyal customer. read more

However I recently visited a newly open Petsmart in Beverly Evergreen Park IL I'm going to tell you about my experience at this place of business It was quite pleasant , What I liked most about this pet smart is The atmosphere, the Merchandise, and the service.           The overall atmosphere of the whole store was nice. There is this moderate sized local petsmart standing there in a nice sized parking lot with a unfinished store near it. The concrete still in great condition. Its fall so it's not really any bright scenery popping out as you come in to the store its very inviting beautiful shiny glossed marble like floor. There are small checkout counters to the left as soon as you enter and the grooming station to your right and the aquatics in the center straight to the far back of the store. It's a safe environment it's in the Beverly neighborhood in the Evergreen Park shopping center so there are great outlets like Wal-Mart and Sam's clubs nearby, and the store is very organized and well lit and clean giving a great atmosphere for customers.                The merchandise is one of the great things that people look for when they come to shop at petsmart .There is a large amount of new brand items like Tetrafauna, Fluckers, All living things, Zoo med, and exo terra, are some of the well-known name brand products that the sell in the reptile aisle and these are trusted products that we reptile lovers look for. They also have many other products in-stock that can't be found in a lot of stocks. They provide a large variety of items and merchandise in the store in an orderly fashion. I bought crickets and comet goldfish think god they didn't die before I got home which is great unlike many other pet stores.              The service was pretty good for the first day of the grand opening even those there was two employees having an conversation over in the middle of the aisle instead of helping or assisting any lost customers who may have been looking for something. There are only about checkouts so holidays can be crazy, but the service was great very fast they opened up the other register as I was about to checkout so the service was going very smooth on the first day, with a very active and attentive staff they made the service wonderful.            Well for the grand opening business was booming and it was pretty active attentive staff at hand. There is a nice variety of live animals there, great merchandise, the atmosphere is great, and the service was great I would recommend pet lovers to shop here, and get it a try at least once. read more
