This PetSmart location is pretty big. They have birds for adoption and a huge selection of dog toys, food, and treats. There is a clearance section in the back. They have spray bottles and paper towels in most aisles for any pet related accidents that may occur. They do also offer grooming services however I haven't tried them yet. There's plenty of parking. PUPPY TRAINING CLASS: I did the puppy training class here and Susan was a great trainer. I do wish that there was a bit more of the puppy socialization during the class. I had a grooming appointment for my labradoodle and the results were horrible. They cut all the hair off his ears and body which looked nothing like the picture I showed the groomer. The groomer said he was really matted but we took great care to keep him brushed since our regular groomer took ill and had to cancel the appointment. The only request they honored was keeping the fur on his tail. But they add real insult to injury, my dog suffered a considerable cut on his neck. I didn't noticed until the next day. There was dried blood and perhaps some type of ointment they may have put on it. Beware of this place. We only took our dog there because we were desperate. And our dog suffered because of it. He was uncomfortable for at least 2 weeks. We took him to the vet and we were told that he'd heal on his own, which he did. But we had to get medication for an ear infection which we believed was induced by all the pulling they did to remove the hair from his ears. Never again!! read more

Took our dog in for Bath & nail trim. No one call to tell us they were unable to cut our pups nails. So we basically paid $30 for a dog bath. Our main purpose bringing her to this petsmart was for nail trim. Got 3 different reasons/excuses as to why they were unsuccessful. Will not be back. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

This is a better store than the one in Catonsville I wish their store prices aligned with their online prices buying stuff online cost me a horrible problem on which my money was received by PetSmart and no product was received but that's not the fault of the Ellicott City Store this happened with the Catonsville store. read more

I may have two closer Petsmarts closer to me but this was the one we started our pup at and he is comfortable with Ms. Beverly. Usually I have a shaky pup but once he sees her he will calm down. It's hard to get an appointment at times but we just wait patiently. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm one of the pickiest people ever! We got our puppy Lola, a Golden-doodle during Covid and we adore her! We started taking her here for just a simple trim around the eyes and such. Well, Lola had her first big haircut today and I'm very happy! She's been seeing Tyson from the beginning and we LOVE her! Maureen cut her hair evenly and I will be going back to her again. I will say this is $5 more expensive then the one I went to in NJ ($60) but that isn't really a bad thing as I know pricing fluctuates. read more

Over the Holidays I decided to try the new PetSmart to groom my two Maltese dogs. When I scheduled the appointment the woman I spoke with was very kind and although they only had an opening to do one dog, she squeezed in the second dog for me... Same day. The only negative I experienced was that when I arrived, I filled out several forms, and because one of our dogs has a heart murmur, they would not groom her there because they do not have a Banfield pet hospital onsite (I wish I had known that before I dragged the dog there). This was a bit surprising and my dog has been groomed many times over the years at different locations, none of which have pet hospitals onsite, and never with a problem. I would have been willing to sign a waiver, but that was not an option. I had to take that dog elsewhere for a groom. With that negative exception, Tiffany D did groom my other dog and did a great job. That pup is pretty wary of new people and not always cooperative when being groomed. When I picked him up, he looked great and had a big smile on his face. Tiffany reported that he didn't give her any problems, and she did a thorough job with his grooming, including nail trimming. The price was great and I've already scheduled another appointment to bring him back here. The only thing keeping this review from 5 stars is the inconvenience of having to bring my other dog elsewhere because they won't groom her due to her heart murmur. read more

This store has horrible customer service especially in their pet grooming area where the staff repeatively refuse service to large dogs. Highly recommend going to Petco down the street instead, they love all dogs. read more

Most of the staff is helpful, but their grooming services are not good. It seems like every time I go in, they're closed or can't accommodate me for walk in services, despite there being no line. Also their computers don't talk between stores. I have better luck with Petco down the street. read more

The one or zero stars is not for the back story but for what happened today. Back story, in August our dog suffered from water intoxication from drinking the shampoo water while being groomed at this petsmart. Per their protocol they rushed him to their vet. We picked up our dog and took him to our pet ER and had him elevated. It was determine it was water intoxication from shampoo water and he had nausea and received an injection. My husband and I brought our dog into petsmart grooming salon the next day because they were genuinely concerned about him. We spoke with the manager and the groomer. We informed them it was water intoxication from the shampoo water. We asked if they needed anything from us and the answer was no. They mentioned they will have my dog flagged as an express. I paid for the services rendered and thank them. Fast forward to today, They booked my deceased dog for a grooming appointment after I told them repeatedly the appointment is for my other dog. Once they changed the appointment to the correct dog, they called me an hour before dropping him off to tell us they cannot groom him because he has seizures. Which is not true since they do not have any medical record or evidence. Then proceeds to tell us if you can bring in paperwork from a vet stating he does not have seizures, then we can groom him. Amanda told us the manager and groomer should have told us at the time the incident occurred. Then she states petsmart has updated their policy on pets who have seizures. I asked her when was this policy updated, she had no answer. So my husband went up to petsmart and spoke with Greg and found out the policy applies to Boxer. Our dog is not a boxer. During the conversation with Greg and my husband had me on the phone, we find out Amanda lied. My husband received a copy of the policy and left. read more

This is quite a store!! I cannot say enough about the customer service I received today. My husband and I bought a 60 gallon fish tank and stand. Nate helped us decide on what to get based on our needs and questions. The manager, Shane, and Sai, a sales clerk, went out of their way to help us load the items as well as select the perfect type of gravel and pump. They price matched for the lower price and we saved a lot. Their patience and knowledge were unsurpassed by any customer service that we have ever received. GROOMING REVIEW This is a nice new store so I thought I would give it a try. My little 12# dog hates having her nails trimmed. I make it clear up front, she does not hold still and it does make it more difficult to trim her nails. The girl took her back and I walked a few isles into the store browsing when I had a bad feeling, I walked up to find three employees standing there with my dog. Not one of them came to look for me, I had a sick feeling as I walked up. The groomer informed me that she couldn't trim her nails, that she threw up, and that "it wasn't because she was choked because she looped the lead through her harness." (but if it was still around her neck then she still could have been choked and why would she make that statement). I took my dog a mile down the road to Petco (which cost less $15. for a trim and buff) where they promptly trimmed her nails with out a problem. I am done with PetSmart, I can't prove she was choked, but what ever they did to her it made her vomit. read more
