The staff here is very nice however my dog just never liked it. I was thankful for the cameras because I was able to watch him and he would just go sit in a corner instead of playing. The room he was in was small and they have way way too many dogs at one time. I saw dogs harassing other dogs while trying to rest. The staff seemed to spend more time cleaning up pee and poop off the floor then interacting with the dogs. read more

Dogtopia is simply a great place for dogs! I feel so relieved to have found this pleasant little doggie-heaven; I can leave my energetic year-old Cavalier King Charles knowing she is happy, safe, and loved on by all the pet-tenders. I should have written earlier because these people are great. After trying their overnight boarding for a few nights I am even more pleased. Prices are reasonable, location is easy in and out, everything is clean and neat, and the staff couldn't be better. Dogs are crammed in small rooms most of the day (staff don't like to go outside because it's cold!). Lunch/nap time is advertised as 12-2 but oftentimes staff don't return to release the dogs from crates till 2:30. Prices are reasonable, but this place seems to prioritize employees' comfort and convenience over dogs' well being. read more

They like to take your money and lock your dog up all day. We take our dog there to play with other dogs and when we come to pick him up he's in the cage. These workers are lazy and do not want to take care of dogs. This particular location seems especially bad at this. Stay away from taking your dogs here. read more

Lori is the excellent, professional groomer at Dogtopia in Clarksville. over the past six or seven years she has groomed five dogs of mine from puppy to senior. They always come home super clean, thoroughly brushed out and with nicely trimmed nails and feet. Lori is compassionate and gentle with my dogs and in turn they adore her. Our puppy loves going to Dogtopia! Our 6 month old puppy goes two to three times per week for dog daycare. She has a blast playing with the other pups and I've seen her getting pets from the staff working in her room several times. We love being able to check in on her during the day with the cameras. The owner, Matt, is so friendly and truly seems to love dogs. I appreciate their prompt drop off and pick up services- the staff is very attentive! I love the staff that work here, they're always great when we come. I recently left my dog here for about 4 days and checked in on her through the webcams every few hours or so. I never once saw the dogs go outside unless that's done while the cameras are off and the dogs seem to wander around aimlessly in their playrooms. But there isn't much playing going on. Staff members are pretty much constantly cleaning and might pet a dog here and there. I've left my dog here numerous times but I wish the staff actually played with the dogs and gave them stimulating activities to do rather than standing around all day. read more

What can I say but how great this place is and how wonderful and caring the staff here are. My pure bred Chocolate Lab, Gracie absolutely loves it here. She gets so excited even before we pull up to the building. We are getting off the freeway and she starts to go nuts because she knows where she is going. We have been boarding her here over 4 yrs and have never had any problems. We have had her boarded there from a long weekend to 2 weeks. Gracie always comes home clean, exhausted and happy. I also like the fact that whenever I call to book her stay there is always availability. That's appreciated when we have short notice on having to be out of town. I have to say Matt is one of the nicest people at your place.. Always courteous and pleasant on the phone and in person. Needless to say we are loyal customers and will continue to board Gracie here as long as you are around. I highly recommend this to doggie parents. read more

Great place to bring your dog. Matt is awesome! They don't discriminate between older or younger dogs, because they know how to handle them both unlike many other dog places in Maryland. Usually others are afraid and whiny about having to board puppies with older dogs...not Dogtopia (Matt) because they know the dogs, and the care is excellent!!! The spa day was a 10/10 for my 2 older German Shepherds! The staff were very accommodating for my dogs' needs, and they even hand-washed my dogs' collars!! They got the wash, brush out, teeth brushing, and nails clipped. Couldn't be happier with how they turned out! Will be coming back read more

My dog is suffering from an illness and has multiple hygiene problems as a result of it. I had explained this to the owner the first time that we try to take care of her needs at home and bring her to a groomer about once a month. He still yelled at me about her appearance in the check in area in front of others. After he did this twice, I switched to a better priced mobile dog groomer who has a lot more compassion for what my dog is going through and our circumstances. While I can understand becoming upset over seeing a dog with an illness, this individual had no courtesy or professionalism in their discussion regarding my dog's care. read more

My Pomeranian needs a lot of grooming because she's so fluffy and since I recently moved to Columbia, I decided to try out this place because it has good reviews. I've taken my dog to this place three times and each time my dog comes home clean, well groomed, and smelling great with nicely trimmed nails. However... I have decided to not go to Dogtopia anymore due to some concerns that arose each time I went there. My dog is a VERY friendly and outgoing dog who loves people so much it's almost annoying. She's always been very comfortable going to new places and the vet, doggie day care, and more. What greatly concerns me is that I didn't recognize my dog every time I took her there and picked her up because upon seeing the entrance and front desk and leaving... she would shake so badly it was as if she was vibrating. She was absolutely terrified each time and it is completely out of her character to act that way. I tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt but it happened each time I took her there and this has not occurred anywhere else and thus i have decided to try other places in the area. read more

I took my miniature poodle to Dogtopia for grooming because of the great reviews on Yelp, I won't be taking him back. The grooming was fine except for the nasty 1/2 inch nick under his arm, unacceptable. And he's limping...my dog is limping after going to that place!. Also, it was expensive. Matt did point out the nick to me and I do realize accidents happen but this wasn't a tiny nick. My dog was freaked out when I got home back, none of this has happened before. read more

It's so hard for me to believe that I'm the first person to review Dogtopia. It's such a great place! Our two dogs are kind of particular about what they like and don't like, and the staff at Dogtopia are always willing to work with them. They know their personalities and really know how to handle them. I also like that I can ask how they were throughout the day and get an answer from someone who was with them. We used to take them to the PetsHotel at PetSmart and no one ever knew what had happened throughout the day. You can also watch them on the webcam in the playrooms. Our dogs come home exhausted at the end of a day at camp and it's definitely worth the money! They sell multi-day passes which give you a deal and make it even cheaper, too. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. My dog has stayed at dogtopia on two occasions. The first time went fine, though he did come back a little dirty. On the second occasion, my dog came back filthy. It appeared as if my dog had an accident at some point during his stay as his rear end was covered in dried feces. It was clear that the accident has occured long before I picked my dog up as the skin on his rear end was very irritated and there were actual breaks in the skin. I had to take my dog to the vet who shaved his backside and gave us antibiotics to guard against an infection. On top of that my dog had at least two ticks on him, one of which was engorged with blood. I give my dog frontline every month, so I was puzzled as to how he could possibly have two ticks on him. Needless to say I will not be bringing my dog back to Dogtopia. read more

We used to be super happy with Dogtopia. We started bringing our 4month old border collie puppy in August of 2016 and immediately stopped in September/October of 2017. I witnessed an employee shoving her into her crate, kicking the crate repeatedly, and shaking and slamming the crate into the wall repeatedly. This was for the "rest time". I was never given a response as to why this was done to her and clearly no response would have been appropriate anyways. All the owner told me was that she "was unhappy being in her crate" and that this would never happen again as the "young gentleman had a moment of weakness and he was very sorry". I asked if she tried to bite or snap at the employee and the answer was no (this would have been a shock as she is super friendly anyways). The owner agreed that the employee was way out of line, but did not fire the employee because he did not physically touch her. I now wonder how many times this possibly occurred to my dog and maybe another dog(s) as well before I witnessed this on the webcam. Leading up the this event, she became less and less excited as we reached Dogtopia where as before she would go absolutely crazy and be super excited. There are a lot of great employees there that I know truly love dogs, but since the one employee was not fired, and is still there, I could never trust this place again. Please be careful and pay attention to your dog's behavior, they may be trying to tell you something. read more

Our greyhound, Comet, was rescued at age 3 and took a several years to fully trust and love our family. For 10 years, we avoided placing him in a kennel, thinking he would be more relaxed at home with a sitter while we were on vacation. When our sitter suddenly fell through last year, a friend recommended Dogtopia of Clarksville. I was so nervous leaving him for the first time that I cried in the car on the way home. Then my kids started crying and we almost cancelled the ski trip. Well - we were wrong! Comet was so happy to be around other dogs and the loving care of Matt, Jackie, Ashley, Sue, Ron and all the other staff. Comet returned several times for extended vacations and was always sad to leave when we picked him up. Comet was almost 14 years old, and they accommodated his every need without hesitation. They did not just treat him as a "big dog" and place him in the room. They observed him to see where he was happiest and varied his visits according to his needs. Comet lived a long life, and passed away right before Easter, 2 days before another stay at Dogtopia. My only regret is that we did not let him visit Dogtopia sooner and more often. Pets truly are members of the family. We felt like the staff at Dogtopia understood that. They seem to love their jobs and the dogs. read more

If our 2 pups even think they're going to Dogtopia they start FLIPPING OUT with joy! When we pull up they fight to get out of the car first. We love watching them on the internet cameras playing with their friends. When they come home they sleep all night and we feel great knowing how much fun they had. Customer service? WOW! When it's raining at Dropoff time they come outside with an umbrella and grab the dogs right out of the car for me. Seriously? What could be better than that? Awesome owners and employees! read more

Took my pup in for a trim...I made it very clear that I only wanted an inch off the body and gave specific instructions NOT to touch his face or tail...I picked him up and he was completely shaved, face and all! The groomer said he was matted....there is no way. He was on a regular schedule of every 3 weeks as well as being brushed at home. Lori was sweet and kind to my dog but can not cut breed specific. Every dog that came out looked exactly the same...like a poodle!!! I def won't be returning for grooming. read more

Used several times for extended stays for our springer spaniel and Brittany. They loved it there! The place is clean and the staff is great! We are military and have used kennels all over the world. This is one of the top ones. I only wish they had a grassy outdoor area for exercise. They can pick up bad habits relieving themselves inside on the floor all the time. But I would highly recommend. Best place for our active Airedale Terrier!!! She gets to socialize with other dogs in a safe place and engage in free play and, because she knows them and they know her, she is excited to be there, even for boarding. WAY better than a kennel because she is not crated or caged all day long. The grooming side of the house is fantastic too. They do a great job. The staff there are terrific and Dogtopia has been an essential extension of our family/household support. I really appreciate the personal service. We use doggy day care for our 1 year old English Setter. We usually drop him off 3 times a week on various days. The schedule is great for flexible pick-up and drop-off times as well as half day vs full day stays. I can't say enough good things. The best thing about Dogtopia is the people who work there. They truly love and care about the dogs in their care which is evidenced when they make accommodations for our quirky puppy. A larger area would be nice but they are limited by their geography. I always liked the place and the staff but until I took my dog for grooming. They gave me the appointment for 9:30 am I took my dog exact at 9:30 they did not do the job until 4 pm I just picked my dog the way it was all they did just gave him a bath nothing since 9:30. This is the second time has happened to me with the grooming that they have taken entire day to groom a small dog and job was also very poorly done . Grooming sucks at this place I will never never recommend this place for grooming . Untrained groomers and very disorganized. read more
