We're so happy that Renique joined PetSmart! We were her clients at the Edgewood Petco, and when she relocated for a better opportunity, we gladly followed her all the way from Buckhead. I only trust the best with my dog, Prince -- he's a vibrant but sensitive senior, and Renique treats him with such love and care every time. She's a true professional and a genuinely kind person. PetSmart is lucky to have her! read more

Your groomer called out? Seriously? Don't you have other groomers? Cancelling my appt because you cannot sustain employees? Not a positive first experience. Rebook for another day sometime time next week? Seriously? I choose Saturday because I am off work. You know what that means? The word "work"? Never mind the customer. Petsmart should make it right. This PetSmart location has really came in clutch for us after becoming first time dog owners. From puppy treats to shampoo to affordable puppy training, I've really been able to figure out this new chapter with peace of mind. I do not get everything here, because some of the prices are higher than other stores that sell pet essentials, but I like having the additional options that you can't find at the typical mass retailer stores. PetSmart tends to have sales on needed items such as treats and toys. Between the sales and coupons, it has been a great aid in getting our dog what he needs. The puppy training class has been very helpful for us and I can't wait to see how much he learns in the coming weeks. Overall, I am fan! I don't plan on trying grooming services, but this will be my go to for some essential items and training help. read more

I booked a grooming appointment online for my miniature schnauzer. My son dropped him off. They did not even trim him. I called back to tell them that I did not pay $108 just for a bath which I can do at home, and the lady blamed me for "booking it wrong." What ever happened to, "I'm so sorry we had a miscommunication. Bring him back and we'll correct it,"??? Now, I have to pay someone else to give him a haircut. read more

We booked a grooming appointment for Our Bichon Friday. Upon booking we requested an experience groomer because we were at a different location than we normally go. His nails were not done and his cut was botched. Contact customer support and they refunded the money. Then they contacted us and invited us to come back to let an experience groomer take care of him. Under the assumption that it was going to be covered. Once we got all the way to Douglasville that's what we was notified that the haircut to fix was not gonna be covered and there will only be a 10% discount at it due to the refund. So we allowed him to try again because his nails needed to be cut and his hair still needs to be cut. Well, the second time was not any better difference was his nails hair still botched hair on his head is all uneven. We live probably 40 miles away, which was a complete waste of money and time. We will never take him back there again read more

I took my dog to PetSmart in Douglasville, GA for grooming. Mind you I took him the day before and they stated his tail was a little matted therefore I need to reschedule. I asked for the normal full service. (Anal glands expressed, teeth brushed, conditioner etc). That lasted for several hours. I went to pick up Bruno and although he seemed fine. When I got home my daughter came screaming about his eye Update on Bruno's grooming experience.... I called PetSmart (2940 Chapel Hill Rd, Douglasville, GA) this morning to speak with a manager, as I was preparing to head that way. Sara was non empathetic and very quick on the phone, as I was still talking she hung up. I arrived to the store. Asked for the manager, Sara came out. I explained my concern and begin to ask who serviced my Dog and can someone tell me what occurred. She stated well I don't know but let me take you to Banifield they will check. Right as she said that a Guy (Gary Phillips) stated I serviced him.. it ain't no problem take him to Banifield have a good day... good bye.... as angry as I was I did not say anything (primary concern was my dog... I showed restraint). We get to Banifield I was placed in a room as we awaited the Dr. the manager came back and I begin to say to her that this was not handled correctly and how much of poor customer service Gary displayed as well as her... Sara responded well I'm helping you right, I'm bringing you to this side so they can check on your baby. At this point I realize this was not going to turn out well, but I will sit here allow their Dr to assess my dog and proceed with follow up from there. Well a nice Dr came in (Dr Allen) and sure enough she confirmed my thoughts. Hemorrhage of the eye can be caused by trauma, strangulation or other medical concerns (in which Bruno has a clean bill of health). I also showed her his paws as the blade was too sharp and caused redness and irritation. She stated that he does not need medication for the "broken blood vessel" it will heal on its own. I asked her can she inform the manager of exactly what she stated to me. She agreed. She went to speak with the manager. The manager came back into the room and said: well listen I'm just a manager, not the store manager. We take full responsibility for what happen but it's only a limit to what I can do, because again Al is the store manager and he doesn't come back until tomorrow so I'm just going to refund you for the grooming service and I will have him call you tomorrow, or you can just reach out to corporate ". Fast forward we are at the register she's processing the refund but then I see her referring to this paper. So I said can I see that, she said no... I realized that it was the waiver/agreement that I signed yesterday. So I said well it has my signature allow me to look it over. She continues to say this is PetSmart legal document you can't have it. I said Ma. I do not want to have it. I would like to see it. So she holds the paper and start showing me different areas. I said ok let me read it for myself. She lays the paper on the counter. I said ok, allow me to take a picture. She snatched the paper screaming no no you can't this is PetSmart legal document I pull the paper back and she ripped the paper (see image). So I asked her was that necessary what's the big deal over a paper in which I signed. She said no Al can give it to you if he wants to. I said ok. At this point I will follow up with corporate as none of this was handled correctly. She begin to apologize and ask me well I didn't do anything wrong to you right? It's not me right. I didn't answer. I then asked for names. She said I'm Sara, the store manager is Al. I said what about the groomer she said Gary let me get you his last name. Came back and said Gary Phillips. This was a very poor experience and I will not allow this incident to fall in deaf ears. My dog was mistreated, I was mistreated and I'm still left with no answers. read more

I have had my issues with the grooming department at this location but today takes the cake. My dog was scheduled for a 7am bath. I received a call yesterday confirming this time. When I arrived, the doors were locked as the store does not actually open until 8am. I rang the bell (pictured) several times to no avail. I could see store employees moving about the store as I waited outside in the cold and rain. I even called the store and it just rang and rang. After 10 mins of waiting, I finally retreated back to my car. Shortly after, I saw someone come open the door and wave outside. I immediately got out of the car to approach the door again. By the time I reached the entrance, it was locked again! This is the most disregard for paying customers I've experienced in a long while. It's shocking and disturbing that they would allow people to book appointments and not have the capacity to at least let them into the building. At 730am, a customer exited the store and allowed me to enter. At that time, a store employee said that he was trying to figure out why the salon wasn't there. They weren't there at all!! We were told we'd receive 30% off our service. I'd prefer to pay full price. At 745, I was finally able to drop him in. I was told they weren't sure if the groomer he was scheduled with was coming in at all, so it would be 3-4 hours until he was ready for pick up. read more

If I could give this place a negative star rating, I absolutely would!!!! I dropped my dog off to get groomed this morning and I received a call from PetSmart stating that his ear had been "clipped" and he has been taken to the Vet. Ear had been clipped? You have to be kidding me! How incompetent are your groomers that they cannot give a dog a haircut without slicing his ear in half? My dog is 7 and he has been getting groomed since he was a puppy and this has NEVER happened before. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO SUFFER!!!!!! The woman who cut it looked like she had no remorse as she just continued to groom another dog as I came to pick mine up. I am thinking of contacting the local news so that this does not happen again! I am pissed beyond words! Anybody know a good lawyer? read more

There are not a lot of pet stores around this area... as a matter of fact, if you do not count the little aisle they have at other grocery stores, there really isn't any other pet stores here! Anyways, I have come here a couple of times the past week since my mom is rebuilding her aquarium. The first time, it was just me and her and we discovered that there are days that certain fishes are on sale and some are as low as $1... which is awesome because if it wasn't for this, my mom's aquarium would be very boring right now. The employee who was working the fish section was very nice and upbeat. He asked us several times if we needed any help, and after we made our decision of which fishes to chose, he hopped right into action. We also bought a new filter for my mom, and I found that aisle well stocked and organized. I came back a few days later after telling my hubby of the dollar fishes, and upon my second visit, there was a different employee but we received good customer service from them as well. They were very attentive, knowledgeable, and quick. Now, my mother's tank has five different kinds of fishes and we plan on coming back again for a couple more. My mom's tank before only had two different kinds of fish, and now, her tank is such a joy to look at. We are very excited, and I am very grateful for this dollar days for the fishes. Thanks Petsmart! read more

I used to frequent Petsmart, but don't very often anymore because I buy my things online. My visit yesterday was very typical of the type of service I get anytime I go. My senior dog has really been struggling eating her food. She has lost some weight and I have been very concerned. I have tried mixing in wet food, soaking her food, nothing has seemed to work. I went to Petsmart yesterday to walk around the aisles and try to get some advice. I got some advice from two different ladies, one of which I know I have gotten help from before. They gave me so many suggestions and really knew what they were talking about. I felt like they cared about my dog. That type of service is really hard to get in big box stores these days. I feel like in most stores no one has a deep understanding of the products. The people at this Petsmart definitely do! The first lady I spoke with told me about her dog and the similar problems she had. She shared what she had tried what worked and what failed and we came up with some ideas on how to help my dog. It was hard to find a happy medium because my dog eats grain free food and we wanted something that had some soft morsels. The associate spent so much time going through the different aisles with me trying to find the most cost-effective way to help my dog. She also told me how to price match the food on the shelf with their online prices. I appreciated that so much because every little bit helps. After grabbing a choice A and choice B, I had a few more questions. Another associate who is very knowledgeable showed up. She then spent more time talking to me about suggestions. This led me to grab one more option to try. She also gave me the suggestion on heating up the dog food or putting a little bit of salt free chicken broth on to make it more tasty. Both associates were extremely friendly and made me feel like they were giving me suggestions that they would try themselves. They weren't just trying to make a quick sale and they definitely helped me find the most cost-effective options. When I got to the register it was super simple to have them price match the foods that were on sale on their website. The cashier was extremely friendly as well. One of the best things I learned is that they have a 60 day moneyback guarantee. I can actually try these dog foods out with my dog and if they don't work, I can bring them back. I got home and immediately tried a brand new dog food with my dog. She loved it! They were right. My old, picky dog who I have been struggling with, trying to get her to eat, loved this dry kibble, Authority, grain free, mature. I am so happy! Thank you Petsmart for your superior service and knowledgeable employees. It is so easy to shop online these days, but your employees make me want to come back in to your store. read more

Crazy. I've used PetSmart grooming for years, at home and while traveling. I have always had routine grooming done with a 2-hour wait, less if you pay for express. Chloe did a fantastic job on Jasper's grooming this month. He is a 1 year old golden doodle. We talked about his style and cut needed. His cut is not only practical, but beautiful. Everywhere I go someone asks what breed he is and comments how handsome he is. There were no sore spots from having been shaved too close (the golden retriever ancestry allows him to get hot spots easily), his nails are trimmed and smooth (smooth is important for such a big dog). He didn't lick his paws afterwards, as he has done from too close a nail trim. His face and ears are precision trimmed. I am very pleased. His tail is a short flame. He has short boots on his back legs and longer leggings on his front. His body is clipped down. He doesn't pant as often now that he is cooler. My family thinks this is his best grooming yet! It is exactly what he needs! When I stopped in PetSmart to buy some pet groceries, I stopped and told Chloe how happy we all are about her work! Way to go Chloe, you have our business! read more

I have always gone to Petsmart for my Siberian Husky's grooming, I always have her appointments with Sage, he is wonderful with her, and she requires a lot of his time, just to have her groomed it takes him 4 to 5 hours because of the amount hair a husky have, and he even deals with her talking, and arguing, which is a common trait for Huskies, but she can get quite loud about it, and Sage is still willing to groom her, and he does a great job. I would recommend Sage to anyone for their grooming needs! I love going there!!! read more

Just went today to look for Christmas treats for my animals , while there I was looking a slow feed bowl for my dog. I looked everywhere and found very little dog bowls and they were all in a disarray . NOTHING was where it should have been! So I had to hunt down an employee. Hunt being the word! Finally I found a girl who definitely didn't know anything about the store or her job. I ask her about the bowl and she points "their on that row". I replied " They're bowls on that row but no slow feed bowls". So she huffs and walks over . She pretends to look for a half a second and grabs some rubber thing to stick down in a regular bowl. No that's not what I want. She picks up a small puzzle looking bowl that should have been for a cat to play with cause dog food wasn't fitting in it. So I gave up and while doing so I saw SMALL mats for water bowls to sit on and ask if they had bigger ( the ones there was the size of a place mat) She did the half second look and gave me the "I don't know". Fine , I'll for myself. I found some EXPENSIVE mats in the cat litter isle. Giving up I had one more item to look for. I wanted the Christmas treats with the carob on them that PetSmart has every year. Again the hunt began to I covered most of the store. Asking the girl at the register proved to be just as adventurous as talking to the first one! She pointed like the other and off I went. The first girl pops up again and pretends to be looking with me. (during all this hunting I see the store is in need of LOTS of shelf work , things all out of place and lots of items and shelves with no price tags). Finally I find a cheap knock off from China, as WE ALL KNOW YOU DON"T BUY TREATS OR ANYTHING FROM CHINA AS THEIR TRACK RECORD CAN KILL YOUR ANIMAL !! I grab some other snacks and start to the front but I hear a kitten and it catches my attention. I follow the sound and see a small room with the door open. As I drew closer the smell was over powering. I stepped in and saw EVERY and I MEAN EVERY cage has litters boxes with EXCESSIVE amounts of waste and urine and very little water. So I mentioned it at the cashier . After leaving I felt SO BAD for the animals there had to be days of waste. So I'm calling in the morning to see what cane be done. So PLEASE GO ELSE WHERE LETTING PETSMART KNOW THAT YOU CARE ABOUT HE ANIMALS AND YOUR MONEY AND TIME OR WORTH A HECK OF A LOT MORE! read more

If I could do negative fifty I would. The customer service to people and their babies is atrocious! My dog Winston's dewclaw got caught on his eyelid because they didn't freaking trim it because they were rushed. 3 this morning we were woken up to Winston screaming and it took a minute to get it out. Oh and that wasn't even the worst part. I told them basic groom and nail trim which is 55, and they told me it would be 73 and later when I really started thinking about it I called and asked why it was that and they said it was because they based it off what I did last time which is not what I asked for and they said they just won't do it it's fine. Not even two minutes later I get a call back saying the manager said no because they were already done. The manager then tells me after I go around with him a bit. "Fine we will cover it this time but next time you really need to listen to what they tell you" I have never been spoken to in such a condescending manner and went around a bit more and then I asked if my dog was done and he said yes 100%. So I go up to get my dog to see them rushing through and shaving him! Then when they realized I was there they had another person help, double teaming my baby! It was a whole thing and then they didn't even get his dewclaws!!! read more

The employees are rude and very unhelpful. I wish Pet Things on Douglas Blvd did grooming they have much nicer employees that go out of their way to help you. I usually use the Hiram location for grooming, but dropping my dog off at the Douglasville location on my way to work was more convenient. They called me right before closing on Thursday night to inform me that I had to have my dog there the next morning at 7am or they were cancelling my appointment. I would understand if I had booked late or had asked them to fit me in, but I booked with them a week before. I informed them that the earliest I could be there was 8am and they said oh well we are cancelling your appointment. They informed me they didn't care if I called their 800 number. I can't believe you are putting customers and dogs in jeopardy of getting the coronavirus. You can't practice safe distancing in this line of business!!!!! It's doesn't matter how big or small you might need help from another groomer, from as simple to a bath to a hair cut. So you are putting your staff, pet and customer at risk!!!!!! It is nice coming in and being greeted with a smile, even if we aren't booked with the groomers on staff. Our pets always come back clean and frisky. When I arrived, I told my groomer exactly how I wanted my dog to be groomed. I specified that I didn't want her eyes to be shaved, a short westie face, 4 on the body and limbs, short carrot tail, no skirt, leave more fur on the butt, tipped ears and don't clip her nails. I even showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted my westie to look like. When I came back to pick her up I had to pay before I saw her (which I am used to at other petsmarts). This is how she turned out: her eyes COMPLETELY shaved, the hair on the face looked like it hadn't been touched and neither had her tail, horribly tipped ears, clipped nails, no fur on the butt. The only thing the groomer got right was the 4 all over the body. I called my groomer to discuss these things and she said she couldn't make the hair grow back. Needless to say, I was not happy. read more

The worst grooming salon ever! Every time I've had my pet groomed here they screw it up. They always have the wrong phone number for me and can never find my information even though I have told them at least a dozen times that they have the wrong number. They've obviously never bothered to correct it. I called this morning to confirm my grooming appointment for today and was told it was at 11:30. Just walked in and was told by groomer that my appointment was at 7 am and said she'd called to confirm the night before but that the number was disconnected. She then read back my mother's phone number - my mother died in 2011. She offered no solution, accused me of lying about having called and then told me that "I don't know what to tell you, I'm booked." I spoke briefly on the phone with the manager, Corey, to tell her that I'll be taking my business elsewhere since apparently the one day course that qualifies you to shave a cat teaches you neither computer skills nor customer service ones. She was equally useless. If you need to take your pet here for grooming, I suggest just putting it to sleep. It'll be easier on both of you. read more

Employees are unpleasant. Unhelpful. And act like customers are a nuisance. Unfortunately, it is the only pet store around.

I really don't think I would ever use this store for grooming ever again. The staff was unprofessional and rude. The worst place to ever get your dog groomed. They done a rushed job and left clipper burns on my dogs skin. But did nothing but look at my dog. Never offered a refund or anything. Just basically have a great day.
