I've taken my dog and cats several times to this pet smart for grooming and all I can say is that the staff is very kind and sweet towards the animals. I never found my pets distressed after the session. The store is very big and has plenty of items and pets to adopt. This is one of the biggest pet smarts I've been to and am glad it's in my close vicinity. I highly recommend going to this store for all your pet needs. read more

Don't go to the groomers at 8126 Yonge St RR Newmarket, ON L3Y 4V8. The groom was fine but we have banned because he was stressed out AFTER his groom and they could not get him out of the cage. They were informed that he is not a fan of his nails or face being touched but they still took him. They could get him out before his groom, they groomed him, they did what I asked, but banned because they were too afraid to get him out LOL. Fail. Hire better staff that can handle what they are paid to do, at that location. Aurora was great!! be like Aurora's location. Maybe have their grooming staff teach Newmarket's staff Also, the groomer who groomed my dog, dropped at dog off of the grooming table while I was there. Good thing the dog was off the noose or that would have been a good neck injury. Hopefully the dog is ok. Double fail. read more

I've been to this PetSmart a couple of times when I'm in the area. There is not much to it, it's like any other PetSmart in terms of sizing and products offered. Whenever I come here I am served in a decent amount of time (slow, like other PetSmarts tbh). The wayfinding system is good and easy to find my way and the store is usually clean. They have lots of different pets and accompanying food and accessories for them. I always shop with a coupon on hand, which they do quite often through receipts and emails. They usually have $10 off $60 or have deals with buy and pick up in store. I give this Petsmart a 3.5/5. It's like all others and there's nothing special about it. Service is okay but they don't go out of their way to help you. read more

What a mess!!! Pet Smart in Newmarket at Yonge st. & Greenlane. This store needs merchandising attention and MORE CASHIERS. I waited in line (without any exaggeration what so ever because I timed it) for 17 minutes. Only 2 registers going out of 4. There were 8 customers in front of me in my line and 7 in the other. No managers in sight to do thier duediligence and be pro active instead of reactive. The front line of a retail store is one of the most important because it can easily turn a great shopping experience into a crappy and unsatisfied one in minutes, or it can turn a poor shopping experience into a successful one also. It all depends on the Store Manager and what His/Hers standards, expectations and holding the team accountable are. You're in the Customer service industry. You're either in or out. There is no gray area. read more

I really like this store because the staff are always so friendly and helpful. I needed a lot of help figuring things out when I got my kittens and the people here are very knowledgeable. Even when I thought I knew what I was looking for, they showed me what I actually needed and explained why. Their advice was always useful and they were very patient with my worries and questions.This made my life so much easier and I was able to make the transition for my kittens as smooth as possible. There were even times when my heavy bags were carried to my car for me, without me even asking. I always appreciated this extra helping hand and this kind of service and friendliness is what keeps me going back. read more

This location has the slowest check out ever. I only ever go in for crickets and I stand in line longer than it takes me to walk in and get the crickets. Ive been avoiding this location after visiting it numerous times a month for overn5 years. The service is good. Sometimes its hard to find someone to help me but overall aside from the check out, its a well maintained store. read more

This is one of the only places that carries my cat food. It's so nice to go into a sore where pets are welcome and I can see people walking their dogs down the aisle. Their Pet Perks program is GREAT! It's free and actually saves me money at checkout. I especially like that they've partnered with a cat rescue organization and the cats they have up for adoption are rescues! read more

My kids and I love our cat. He's a great and affectionate feline but he HATES getting his nails clipped. His growling and agressive nature when I try to clip them myself forced me to seek professional help. Thankfully Petsmart came to my rescue. It was only $11 and we were in and out of the shop in less than 15 minutes. Yes he hated it just as much as when we try to do it ourselves but this time I didn't have to worry about my kids getting scratched. The peace of mind if definitely worth the return trip. read more

Booked a grooming appointment online but when I showed up they told me they couldn't do it. Had both my dogs with me and had to drive them (4o minutes) back home and cancel all the other appointments I had made that day to do so. Store manager was extremely rude and had no solution for the problem (there was only one groomer in the store and they need 2 to provide services??). When I pointed out that SHE could do it so that I wasn't so inconvenienced she said that wasn't an option. read more

Just want to go on record by saying that I had taken my dog there since he was a puppy. They were quite willing to groom him for 11 years straight but when it came time to look after him when he developed hind leg weakness they told me they weren't "equipped" to handle my dog anymore. Glad to know that PetSmart only wants to look after anything that's easy for them. What new groomer would be interested in taking on a dog that weighs 100 lbs. after they hadn't looked after him his whole life. I escalated it all the way to the Vice-President in the U.S. and was basically told "sorry...best of luck".. Horrible business with horrible attitudes I promised them that I would never shop there again. I now have 3 dogs and spend a great deal of money with Global Pet Foods (food, toys, grooming etc.) and I'm so pleased to know that they aren't getting a single dime from me. We take our dog Jake to the Petsmart in Newmarket for grooming and they always do a really good job at a reasonable price. They are very kind to him and make sure to keep him calm while he's there. BTW, Jake is a very large Sheppard, Standard Poodle cross so there is a lot of him to groom. I recommend their grooming services. read more

If I could rate this lower I would 100%. I took my dog to get groomed at this location, and when I came to pick her up I was told she was limping ( my dog was the last appointment for the night). My dog weighs less then twenty pounds and very peaceful and friendly to everyone. I told by one of the store manager to keep an eye and see if she improves. When I got her home the same night she was all out limping on that leg. I contacted the store the following day and told them, and was advised by another manager to wait another day and if she doesn't improve that I could take her to the vet and get reimbursed for the cost. I took my dog to the vet as she didn't improve and found that she has sprained knee possibly a torn ligament, and is on medication for pain. I went to the store to get my money reimbursed and got horrible customer service. I didn't get anything for my trouble that I went through the didn't even get a discount on the grooming that hurt my dog. I Will definately not be going back there again, and definately wouldn't recommend this store at all. I have given this around 100$ a month and this is the customer service I receive. I will definately be taking my business else were. read more

I'm just appalled with the grooming manager. I will never ever be going back to this location. I have been to this exact location before and held my 7 pound chihuahua. Well she got her nails trimmed no problem. This time around I was denied holding my dog even at the front. Told that two staff would do it one would hold her. (Random stranger to the dog who's not comfortable with new people.) The manager an now two staff were up at the front. My dog is a very nervous dog if you know chihuahuas. This made her stress and shake even more then was necessary at all. My dog would be most comfortable with me holding her clearly or in her eye site. After trying more then once to nicely ask if she can just cut them quick. Well I held her would be no problem an have done it at this location, also many others as well. So needless to say I called the manager a B*tch and walked out. Lost my business that's for sure and hoping my review keeps a few others. That might have pets like mine from wasting their time going here. read more
