Melissa in Collierville is not pet friendly when you don't leave a tip. The service is already overpriced.

I had a great experience with Hunter. My dogs seemed comfortable with him, and he was extremely gentle and understanding of their apprehensiveness. Clearly from the pics you can see they turned out super cute! However, the pricing was the main reason for my decision to lower my rating. It was quite expensive--almost $300, including the tip--whereas I'm usually accustomed to paying around $180, which was a huge adjustment for me. I guess in California everyone grooms so the demand is great and supply is plentiful making for low competitive pricing. Here in Tennessee, Memphis specifically, mobile groomers seemed hard to come by. Additionally, I didn't realize that the hair between their toes was missed. It may not seem like a big deal at first, but after two weeks, it became an issue as they started sliding around on the hardwood floors because their paw pads were furry. That was on me for not communicating or checking and raising my concerns. Overall, they provided great service and were very convenient, especially compared to the alternative of having my dog caged for hours at a Petsmart. I'm definitely going to continue using them! I loved how my pups turned out!

It is always a welcoming and relaxed environment. Dr. Herr takes her time and listens to all of my concerns, and I never feel rushed out the door. We've had at least 10 visits and they are always on time for appointments -- and that's important to someone with two teenagers and an erratic schedule to keep. The special treats (from the peanut butter distraction they provided our dog during an eye exam to the pheromone-scented towels they wrapped our cat in to calm him) are especially thoughtful and helpful. My only complaint, although it's not enough to reduce this review by a star, is the high cost of services. But I know getting a new business off the ground requires a lot of equipment expenditures and overhead. Plus her office has a wonderful homey, not clinical (which always made me immediately uneasy, even if I was just at a vet for a nail trim), atmosphere before you even reach the entrance door. Also important to me is how highly efficient being able to pay in the examination room is and then being able to leave through another door than we came in. Her attention to every detail of her business is evident, and that is all worth it to me!

On two different occasions within the last 2 months, my family has had to take my dog to receive emergency care at the vet after being groomed at this location; both times being a viral infection. The first time we thought it was a one off situation as we had been getting him groomed at this location since we got him 2 years ago. The second time it happened created a trend and our concern was that there was something happening behind the scenes. Of course when you're not there it's really hard to tell. We reached out to the store directly and cooperate about the matter. Our ask was simply to cover the doctor bills since what happened was a result of getting groomed at the location. PETCO was helpful to a degree although the attitude my parents received from the store manager was less than stellar. The district manager for this store at first was helpful. Against better judgement we even decided to set another appointment for grooming which was supposed to be tomorrow 08/14. On yesterday PETCO decided to reimburse us for 1 of the doctor bills which we thought was going to be no strings attached. We were sadly mistaken. This morning we received a call, NOT FROM THE STORE MANAGER NOR THE DISTRICT MANAGER (Whom we just spoke to on yesterday and never mentioned any of what will follow) but from the groomer to let us know not only would our dog no longer be welcomed to be groomed by PETCO but that he was no longer welcomed to be groomed by her. After speaking with the district manager, my parents were told that they were doing "What's in the best interest of the company". They were also made to feel as if they had been dishonest about the situation given that they only received a copy of 1 of the doctors bills when we stated there were 2 instances. Something that could have easily been rectified had they reached out to us to let us know they never received the other copy. The district manager also had a VERY NASTY disposition with them during today's interaction. To say I am livid is an understatement. This level of disrespect is unacceptable. Where my parents are being a class act about the situation, I am not. Not only will I not patronize this store, I fully intend to de-influence ANY AND EVERY body I come in contact with to not do patronize this store. I have friends who are content creators with very large followings who I will also be reaching out to as well to use their platform. As much as we have patronized this business over the last 10-15 years (as we had another dog before this one) it is disheartening to be treated such a way. But PETCO will never get another dime from me. AND if I can help it I will make it my mission to make sure they don't get another dime from anyone else I know...or don't know for that matter.

Back home we were lucky to have the best of the best in the country right in our back yard. I went to Collierville Animal Clinic after I received a "free visit" welcome card from them in the mail. What a happy accident! So far I've worked with Dr. Burch, Dr. Horn and Dr. Kingsley (told you my dog is aging!) and they have all gone above and beyond to help with her ailments. They personally call to to follow up on how your pet is feeling, you can tell they genuinely care when they handle your pet, and maybe best of all, they notice and appreciate your pet's characteristics and mannerisms with humor and warmth. At this point, my dog and I have worked mostly with Dr. Kingsley and even if I lived on the opposite side of Memphis, I'd drive the whole way just to continue this working relationship. The other doctors here fabulous, too, though. Sold!

Collierville Animal Clinic was able to take her as a medical board so they could keep her calm and administer her meds. I was nervous leaving her to board, but I had piece of mind knowing she was under medical supervision.

My new puppy, Shiner, was not interested in being the ideal dog. She was full of energy and had difficulty in paying attention. I tried everything I could possibly think of to help motivate her into a functioning member of my household. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with Meridith Caver of The Polished Pooch and knew she would be able to help. Meridith Caver is amazing. After the first session, Shiner was able to sit. Meridith is great at explaining what Shiner worked on during the day and what we should do at home to help further her training. We have learned how to make Shiner a part of the family, not the master of the house. We still have work to do, and we know Meridith will be there to help us alone the way. Shiner is a different dog since she started puppy school with Meridith. In the mornings when Shiner has puppy school/day camp, she is excited and knows where she is going. When she sees Meridith and Debra, she gets so excited to go and play. I feel very comfortable allowing my Shiner to go to puppy school/day camp w/ The Polished Pooch. The staff cares about your baby, just like you do!
