I can not say enough good things about Kait from PetSmart in Braintree,Mass. She approached my husband and l and gave us a book of coupons and it had many for coupons we could apply to items in our carriage that we were buying that day. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We explained we had lost our dog last week, she was very kind, offering us sincere condolences. She also helped us make the tag for our next fur baby who we brought home today. I hope Pet Smart management realizes what an asset Kait from the Braintree store is to you. read more

We sent our dog to get groomed and he came back with a bad infection in his eye. When we called to ask what happened they said he was fine when he left. The picture is from 10 minutes after he got home. We took him to the vet that night and he had a bacteria infection and PetSmart refused to take accountability and stated they would not pay for the vet bill. read more

I had the worst experience in my 68 years the other day. I went to buy a fish at PetSmart, and had a surly unprofessional, nasty woman who refuse to sell me a fish. She told me my aquarium was too small. I have been an aquarium enthusiast for years and know how to maintain a tank. When I told her that I was not interested in her lecture, she told me that I absolutely was not buying a fish that day. I asked to speak to the manager, something I rarely do, and the manager backed up this woman without even asking me my side of the story. Needless to say, I will not be going back there. I have gone there several times and have had no issues with my dogs nails being trimmed. I took my dog for her nail trim and she was returned with not one not two but three quicks on the same paw cut!!!! This is not okay! I can understand one but then the approach of how short one is cutting the nail should have been addressed. Beyond frustrated. read more

He smelled supper good and last for days and the hair cut was nice too after they groomed. Some how the place was busy so i have to take him to diff place. So i chooses PetSmart here. My dog haven't neutered yet, he's very snippy and very excited when he sees others. So i was very appropriate the groomer whoever treats him and handle his snippy attitude sometimes. I booked an groom appointment for my dog last week. I usually book online but noticed our regular groomer was not on the schedule so I called to verify. Sure enough the groomer no longer works there. So I asked the person who answer may look in the system to check who else has worked with my dog because he can be a bit temperamental when he doesn't know the person. The person proceeded to say oh yes I've worked with him before and feel comfortable working with him. Perfect I booked the appointment for yesterday. Our appointment was for 2pm I left my dog and called in at 4pm to check on his status because he has never been there for more than 2 hours. The groomer said oh he is fine we just have been a bit crazy today and short on staff so it's taking a bit longer. I asked when you think he will be ready she said 6pm but if I finish him earlier I will call you. the groomer called me at 5:45pm to come pick my dog because he was not cooperating and she did not feel comfortable grooming him because he kept on bitting her equipment and trying to bite her. Proceeded to say she did not finish him and i Should not bring my dog there anymore. I said its been long for him he has been here for hours what have done kept him in a cage all this time? She said I gave him breaks in between because how he was, but what is a break to put him back in a cage for him to bark. I would have appreciated a call within the hour telling she couldn't handle him. We have been a customer for 11 years at this Petsmart I was very upset on how poorly Sherri handled the situation and how she treated my pet. She basically handed him to me like hurry and get out of here. She decided to cancel my appointment after having my pet there for four hours so she didn't have charge me and literally get rid of me. This is very disappointing as I have been going there for a long time. Sherri does have a bit of a attitude so she lacks customer service. I guess this is to be expected at a groomers where they book back to back appointments just to have multiple dogs in the back in cages. I went to the Petco at this place getting hampsters and we were going to get two, but when we asked they said "you can't put two in the same cage" which is dumb because we've owned them in the past and they were fine. We dropped our dog off to the Petsmart located in Braintree, Massachusetts for grooming services. To start, the reviews of this store and their grooming services are terrible. Almost every single one of them. If HQ hasn't looked into this location it's about time. I've read them all, all 73 of them, all 8 pages worth to ensure I am not making rash or unfair judgement. After reading every single one, I am confident this is not the first time this has happened and will not be the last unless Petsmart takes action. To start, we were contacted the morning of the grooming, which had been scheduled for over 2 weeks in advance for 5pm, to see if we could shift earlier as they had many cancellations during the day. We selected this grooming time given the fact that we both have full time jobs that work during normal business hours, and had planned accordingly with our schedules to make this 5pm appointment. This clearly did not sit well with the representative from the site on the phone as she made it evident she was annoyed that we could not shift earlier. We arrived just prior to 5pm with our 25lb Mini Golden Doodle who does has a coat that requires more care and work than say a Lab. The groomer who took him in immediately rolled her eyes, and in front of us as customers which just definitely left us feeling confident in her ability to care and tend for our dog as you can expect (NOT). She immediately stated that he would need to shaved entirely to the length of a tennis ball because he was "covered in matts". It's funny because we just went to the vet less than a week ago and received nothing but positive feedback regarding his coat and actual LACK of matts. After communicating to the groomer we are NOT okay with him being shaved as she claimed he would need to be, SHE AGREED and we departed. 20 minutes later, we receive a call that the dog has to be picked up immediately because he is too matted. I have never heard of this being how groomers would even potentially handle a situation. We arrived back at the Petsmart to find our dog half shaven, completely uneven, covered in knicks and he was violently shaking and cowering away from the groomer who we should have listened to our gut feeling about. I then called to follow up with the groomer as my fiancé picked him up on his own, who stated "well you signed a Matt disclosure so it doesn't matter". For Petsmart to say their core values are to " place a keen focus on serving pet parents, embracing challenges, doing what's right and working together" is a joke of a statement following this experience. I will continue to tell every single person possible to avoid this location, and because they are the only Petsmart experience we have had and the only one we will ever have, I will continue to tell everyone in the future to avoid this establishment and chain. If anyone cares for the safety of their dog, the customer service they will receive as customers and overall experience at a local business, they will be advised to seek quite literally anywhere else. This is for the grooming salon only. I normally go to a different groomer but heard this place had lower rates and they brushed your dogs teeth so I thought I would try it. I purchased the furminator de shed package for my husky. I picked her up within 2 hours, normally the other place is 4 hours, so I was excited. Except when I picked her up she seemed like she was half done. There was still clumps of fur on her forearms which could have easily been brushed out. So it seemed liked they bathed her, but then didn't completely brush her out because this was on all of her forearms. I guess now I know why they were cheaper and took less time. Won't be going back here for grooming. read more

I had a very bad experience with the dog groomers . I booked a appointment and it was a month in advance . Up on arrival no one was at the reception desk so I patiently waited and some hot mess dude shows up like 10 minutes later with ice coffees in hand , walks into the girls without saying hello to me and comes back out 3-5 minutes later saying I'm late and we can't groom your dog .. I was pissed because obviously this little F boy was the one who showed up late for work and it was very clear to me they over booked hence me getting treated rudely and inconvenienced waiting a whole month for mediocre at best dog grooming facility .. do yourself a favor and find a good place to go to because this pet smart isn't one of them .. Sam Jenner T. was horrible in today's visit. She had service my dog's grooming prior to today and this was my first negative experience. She is the Lead Groomer for the Leominster location. She yelled and talked down to another employee in the front portion of the store with lack of consideration and professionalism. She disregarded that I, a paying returning customer and the rest of the employees were presented. She also had rescheduled my appointment twice prior to today due to staff shortage but after today it's obvious it's not just due to the pandemic. In short, she "didn't feel comfortable" to service my dog due to his age a limp (limp that he was born with and has been present each time he has been groomed at that location) but the fact that she didn't feel comfortable was not addressed until she storm out to call the store manager and give her version. Cameras can not only witness or prior visits and today. Where not only can he walk but he has done very well at each of his grooming sessions. We all have bad moments, especially due to the pandemic but she must be mindful for those who do show up for work and set her emotions aside. The store manager stated he will address it with her but with his comments (that my dog is old, old dogs suffer from arthritis and that he needs to go somewhere where they know how to take care of him- mind you, this was NOT his first visit. His last visit was just two weeks ago). It's clear by his comments that Sam poor behavior is tolerated but nothing burns out or get rid of your great employees faster than other employees watching a manager tolerate bad employee's attitude and Sam if you are your manager read this, I hope you take time for yourself appreciate repeating customer and good employees! I'm sadden to think on what happens closed doors to our dogs while on their groomer sections. read more

This PetSmart has a section where they work with a no -profit. The non-profits get to display their pets and have them up for adoption. But guess what? PetSmart employees do not seem to support it. They have lied to me more than once about why I cannot meet the pets - not having keys to the room, can't open it unless we have applied (which means we are certain of the pet that we just made eye contact with through the glass), etc etc. Worst part? They blame it all on the non-profit. I finally had enough. I emailed the non-profit, and they told me to visit during business hours. They were surprised that the PS employees lied, and I wasn't the first customer that encountered this issue. Employees do not allow you to hold the animals they are selling (even though they put the signs on the glass) unless you are going to buy them. You can't consider, you can't see if you are compatible with them by interacting with them. Ridiculous. Throughout all my visits, there was only ONE lady who was knowledgeable and attentive. I hope management sees this. You can't claim to be an advocate and do CSR when your employees treat it like a chore. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced at the Grossman location was this morning. Im the only person standing in line 3, the only line with a light on to finally turn around and see someone being checked out in line one. The line with the light off. So I move to line one and have to ask why the light isn't on line one and is on at line 3 as I use that as where I should like up to check out, I was told they sometimes leave the light on overnight. Still didn't give a good reason why the open line didn't have a light on letting customers know where they should check out. This place is horrible. I arrived ten min late for my dog grooming appointment where the store was closed but the vet section was open. I didn't know you had to enter through the vet to get to the grooming area, which made me late. The groomer's (there were two) told me I was late and they couldn't take my dog not offering any solution, even though they only had one dog there. Poor customer service indeed. I was there a month before and there were two groomers that were exceptionally nice. They were exercising their power to turn me away instead of work with me. I went today with my mother since we get our dog food there and I also needed to get my Syrian hamster his food. While there, I was horrified by the conditions of the small animals in their care. one thing that truly sickened me was since Syrians are supposed to be solitary and today, I saw 3 in one extremely small cage, 2 in another. Petsmart preaches about animal care and even on the little sign, it talks about the animal itself and even says "solitary". these hamsters and small animals also come from animal mills. Very sad. Won't support a store that doesn't house their own animals well and in wrong conditions. Will be taking my business somewhere else read more

This is one of my favorite petsmart locations. I have bought numerous fish here over the years. I love how there tanks are set up. I had used them for ten plus years as a groomer for my dogs. They have a huge turn over rate with staff in the salon. You never knew who was going to be there when you booked an appointment. They were very understanding when my dogs starting getting older and needed breaks. I would recommend this store and grooming salon. read more

I love Petsmart and some of the staff are so great I would hate to blame everyone! However, I went there around 7pm with my dog. I knew I was taking a chance that they were open on a Sunday but I also know a lot of stores do holiday hours so I figured I would give it a try. As I was walking up, these incredible rude I'm assuming employees (two middle aged women) snapped at me in a very condescending way about how they close at 7 on Sundays. Very rude! I knew they might be closed so I would've appreciated a different tone. I hope they don't treat other customers this way! It is truly unfortunate that a 0 star rating isn't possible. That's what you deserve. My husband dropped off my two dogs (50lbs Black Lab and a 10 lbs Yorkie) this morning at this Banfield (we moved to MA from out of state), after about 45 mins of trying to get my dogs checked-in, being told the MA has a mandatory heart worm medication regulation for all dogs (lies), and generally just knuckle dragging my husband was finally able to leave. We called them twice during the dogs stay to confirm services and check on their status. To which the response was that they were fine. We had a scheduled pickup time of 630 pm. We received a call at 245pm that the dogs were ready to go. We again asked if the dogs were well, to which the response was again they're fine. At 415pm my husband picks up our dogs after spending $130 in ear cleanings, nail Dremeling, and heart worm medications. He packs the dogs and my 6yr old in the car and opens the drivers door to puddles of urine in both the passenger and drivers seat. Our 5 yr old house trained Black Lab urinated all over the front half of the car. My husband immediately brought the dogs back inside, and was informed that for the entire 8 HOURS that my dogs were at this "hospital" they had not been walked once. My dogs get walked every four hours when we are not home by a dog walker that we pay. We pay $760 a year in dog insurance and when I drop my animals off at the vet I expect (because I pay for it) for them to be treated the same or better then when they are in my care. When confronted, the front office staff said that it wasn't their policy to walk the dropped off animals. When prompted to show that policy in writing, the story then changed to my dog was "aggressive" and that's why she wasn't walked. Being military members we move often and our dogs have been seen in many different Banfield clinics along the eastern seaboard. We never have had problem. Never, NEVER have we ever been placed in a position where we have to question if our dogs are safe going to these clinics until today. Banfield and PetSmart in Braintree, MA... I have contacted the Corporate Headquarters and this will be investigated as neglect and your practices reviewed so that you CANNOT do this to any other animals. You have lost a loyal customer of 5 yrs. You are absolutely horrible. read more

I do not know what I would do without this place. I adopted a rescue dog as my first dog, and while I absolutely adore her, I needed help. The staff at PetSmart were not only knowledgeable but more than willing to take time out of their day and talk to me about all my questions, give some great tips, and just help me in general. We are on week #2 of the beginner training course and I can see a difference already! my only complaint is that my puppy is getting absolutely spoiled since I'm there so often (with and without her) and always make an excuse to buy her a present or two. Great place! Update: Colleen is our trainer and ABSOLUTELY wonderful! My dog is a shelter dog and likes very few people but she LOVES Colleen! Seriously, enroll in the classes, it's more than worth the money! read more

I really like this Petsmart. Mostly because the trainer Coleen trained our younger mini-dachshund. She did a really great job and was also really cool about the fact that we did not want to clicker train her. She made sure that any lesson we could do without a clicker. Our little Talula is so well trained. And both our dogs love to go into the store to visit everyone. The staff is friendly, they have a great selection of items. And with 2 dogs and 2 cats it's great to get everything in one place. read more

GROOMING SALON- Absolutely terrible service. I brought my dog to get groomed and naturally he was a bit nervous. Nothing out of the ordinary for a groomer to handle. I have brought my dog to other salons as well as other Petsmart Grooming Salons and he's been nothing but an angel. This salon however refused service and turned us away because "unlike other groomers we do a lot of business and we don't have time to deal with this". If I could give this place negative stars I would. I tried to get information about their dog training and I could not find an employee willing to help me get started. Nobody said hello as I walked in or asked if I needed anything. When I asked someone for help they told me to wait and then offered another person help after telling em to wait. Then, an employee who was available to give me training information saw my dog and said "ohhh he won't be easy to train anyway". So I guess you didn't want my service? Please don't go here. Oh my gooses. We come here all the time now. The food is cheaper (than the other mega pet-store), the goggie selection is wider in just about every category. We always spend WAY TOO LONG hanging around here, just to see if there's anything else we need, didn't see, could use. The staff here is very friendly, it's not exactly anyone's career choice, but by and large the folks here are better than some of competitors. AND! They have training classes. I'm sure they're not the only one, but it seems they hold them quite often, and anyone can "ooh and ahh" at the puppy rink for training. The only thing you have to watch out for here is the Natural Dog Food Lady. I'm not sure which brand she's working for (it's not Petsmart), but she'll saunter up to you and ask why you're picking up Hills Science Diet... [Because the Adoption Center recommended it, and so does our Vet.] and then proceeds to tell you there's a good chance your dog will get cancer and die within a few years unless you switch over to Natural Dog Food. I mean, my recollection there isn't verbatim, but as a salesperson you CANNOT use "your" "dog" "cancer" and "die" in the same sentence and not expect to not be slugged in the stomach. Brought my 6 mo old Bich-Poo for his first grooming. They did such a great job and didn't miss a detail. My puppy looked so different I almost didn't recognize him! He looked 10x cuter than before. It was as if my puppy knew he looked good he started to behave differently! Haha It costed $45 for the grooming. I am more than satisfied with the service here, they exceeded my expectations with time it took and a job well done so therefore, it was well worth the money. Highly recommend this place. read more
