The only reason I am leaving this review is to spread the word about their partner, All Terrier Rescue. We are sharing story everywhere we can and will certainly NEVER be shopping at PetSmart again as long as they do business with this terribly managed All Terrier Rescue. ATR put my husband and through the most traumatic experience we could have imagined. Devastating experience for us as we had to give our pup back since would not allow us to provide him the medical attention he needed (we were clear that we would pay for anything he needed). The only assistance they provided was giving him an injection in the middle of street of a drug (we found out later) is not recommend for dogs under 1 year old (he was 4moths old at the time). For anyone thinking to adopt please do your research about ATR, I would HIGHLY advise against starting to work with them...the two women who manage this organization are running it in the most unethical and unorganized way - they are not able to support and do the right thing for their poor rescue dogs and certainly not their foster families. They need to have different processes/policies if they are going to continue to send very sick animals home with potential foster families. read more

In the past, I have always chosen Petco over Petsmart. Today I went in looking for a Gentle Leader style dog harness. I had found one on the Petco.com website. I was stunned that the cost in store was double the price online. When I asked the employee assisting me to price match, I was advised that they would happily do so for competitor's listed prices, but not the one's from THEIR OWN WEBSITE! Talk about idiotic and ridiculous! I ended up driving over to Petsmart. They were not only happy to price match, they actually did so with a name brand harness, as they were out of the size I needed in their house brand. As I prefer good customer service over convenience, I will now be doing my pet shopping here. read more

They have a really good selection of pet supplies and a good amount of animals too! I have bought a bearded dragon a hamster and a cat. Also a couple of fish. And I have also gotten a large amount of animal supplies from there and I would ALMOST give them 5 stars but they do a terrible grooming job!!!!! No joke read more

I go to petsmart quit a bit for our dog, cats and bird needs. They are very friendly and helpful. Prices are what you would expect from a national chain store but you can usually find coupons for your favorite products if you look hard enough. The people are friendly and helpful with anything you might need. read more

I WISH yelp would allow me to give ZERO stars. I drove an hour to this petsmart, as they were the only store to have an appointment open for a cat grooming. I only take my cat to get groomed because they clips his nails (which I refuse to do), before giving him a bath. Upon arrival at 11:25 they told me the groomer was going to be in at 11:30 which was fine with me. But then they told me that the entire grooming process was going to take 2 HOURS which in previous appointments at the Hillsboro location only took about 30 minutes. When I asked why it would take so long (after telling me the groomer was going to be in at 11:30) they told me the groomers car broke down. So they would get started as soon as she got there and they would keep me posted with text notifications. I finally came to terms with it and went to Washington Square down the road. Not 2 stores in they called me and told me the groomer actually was not coming in and that I should come get my cat. Annoyed, I drove back. Again, upon arrival they told me the groomer ACTUALLY WAS going to be there, in about 10 minutes. The time now being around 12:30 and hour of my day gone... coming to terms yet again, still over the top annoyed with the service I left the grooming station. Went to the bathroom and just before I left the store over the intercom I get called back to the grooming station. This final time they tell me the groomer IS NOT coming in for the day. And that I just need to take me cat home. Blowing smoke from my ears I took my cat back while they informed me we should reschedule and the next one will be on the house. When I asked if it was only for this location I got an attitude from a short haired blonde dog groomer that "uh yeah.. it's ONLY for THIS location. No matter how inconvenient it is for you" To bad I will NEVER go back to this petsmart. I am disappointed, annoyed and just down right mad with the service. This review is about All Terrier Rescue who does the in-store dog adoptions twice a week. I like the store and employees; they have always been helpful. We buy stuff for dogs, cats, a gecko, and rabbits. With all our animals, we need pet stuff almost weekly (litter, crickets, food, etc). We have used their grooming and have been pleased for our very hairy dog. But my review is not so much for that... My review is more about the integrity of Petsmart by allowing All Terrier Rescue to do their dog adoptions twice a week in this store. The people running All Terrier Rescue are not nice or kind, and it reflects poorly on Petsmart that they continue to support this company by letting them use their store. I've started avoiding using this store when I can because they support and allow All Terrier Rescue to have their dog adoptions here on Saturdays and Thursdays. I avoid the store when I can, but most definitely work my schedule around so that I don't have to stop by on either of those two specific days. Let me say upfront that I have adopted from All Terrier Rescue. Just because they have poor people skills doesn't mean that their dogs don't need homes. They are not kind nor friendly to families wanting to look at their dogs. I have seen them snap at kids who are trying to pet the dogs through the exercise pen. When I was in buying supplies, I have seen them in an altercation with a couple who walked out of the store fuming a string of curses. My neighbor adopted from them, but told me that they made their 7 year old cry. My 9 year old daughter came home in tears one day from going to the store with my husband to pick up a few items, and she was in tears about how the head lady was telling someone how one of their dogs was "stupid". My daughter couldn't believe how she was talking about one of her own dogs she was trying to adopt out!! And in our household, the word "stupid" is offensive, degrading, and disrespectful, and it is not to be used. So that is part of why it upset our daughter so much. And once, when I saw one of their dogs bleeding, I was trying to get it some attention, and the head lady literally got in my face and told me I needed to leave. I told her that I wasn't trying to cause trouble, I was just trying to get the dog some medical attention (it's neuter sutures had come undone and it was bleeding on the floor and the dog was sitting, shaking, with his head hung down and unresponsive to me trying to call it. It was in obvious pain). I assumed that with the 15-20 dogs they had there, they couldn't notice everything, so I was pointing out the dog's condition in a respectful and calm way. The head lady got right in my space, and in my face, and said to leave. I told her I wasn't trying to cause trouble, but before I could finish my next sentence, she cut me off and brusquely said, "Yes, you are. And you need to leave." I walked to the Vet counter to see if the vet had a spare minute to check on the dog. I would assume in an emergency situation they would, right? They said no, that they don't have anything to do with All Terrier Rescue, and I could file a complaint. I said that there was nothing to complain about and I didn't want to file paperwork; that wasn't the point. I wanted the dog to get some immediate help. I asked the Petsmart shift manager to come over and although I told him that one of the adoption dogs in the back was bleeding, he didn't do or say anything. I had my arms full with items we were going to buy and he simply told me that he could ring me up and walked me to the front. I told him that I was worried about that dog and it needed to see a vet, and he assured me that it would get seen soon. If I didn't have somewhere to be that afternoon, then I would've stayed to make sure that was true. It seemed to me that the poor dog needed an advocate. It reflects poorly on Petsmart to allow All Terrier Rescue to do business in their building. I have adopted/rescued all our pets, and I'm all for adoption, and I've even adopted one of our dogs from All Terrier Rescue, but I'm disappointed in Petsmart that they have hitched their wagon with this business. read more

The groomers do a good job washing and cutting my dog's hair, however, every time we take him in, he ends up getting fleas..... even after we purchase a flea bath. This is unacceptable! I don't know if it's coming from the clippers or the kennels that they keep the dogs in, but I definitely do NOT recommend taking your dog here unless you want to deal with fleas. read more

makenzie is my least favorite groomer, not even a favorite whatsoever. every time i take my dog in, it seems like she take the easy way out and goes completely short with his hair just because he has a couple knots. A different groomer was able to leave his hair so good with just a couple knots as well. she always seems to be in a bad mood. never a smile on her face. she could be going through something and im sorry, but dont bring that to work and take it out on the poor dogs. my dog gets very anxious when i take him in and instead of warming up to him and getting him comfortable she's mostly rough. the place is always messy as well. i understand its a grooming salon, but its not much to atleast sweep up the hair after you finish a pup. definitely not going back. read more

We have bounced around from groomer to groomer trying to find the perfect fit for our 2 dogs. We have finally found her! Danni is amazing and does an exceptional job with our dogs grooming! We will be going to her for as long as we possibly can. Definitely recommend her! read more

If you're looking for inconsistent service from a groomer, look no further. I've taken my dog to this Washington Square area Petsmart for a couple of years now. The friendly staff can't seem to provide good, consistent service. The first two "strikes" occurred on back to back grooming visits where upon pick up, my dog still had dried poop near his butt. The final straw or "third strike" occurred when NO ONE picked up a phone to call me and let me know my dog was ready for pick up. Finally, after 4 hours, I checked in, and was told he had been ready...yet not one phone call. Although I declined, the manager offered to take care of the $64 bill. I can not support a business that operates with poor service. It's really difficult to write such a critique, when there are good people on staff. I recommend Anne Olsen if you're looking to train your dog. I hope their grooming operation gets their stuff together. If that happens, great. If not, you've been warned. read more

Took dog in for grooming for years at the Washington Square PetSmart. One recent grooming visit our dogs dew claws were not cut. Did not notice until dew clew grew into dogs paw pad puncturing it which resulted in a bloody mess and an expensive vet visit. PetSmart reimbursed the vet bill and would place notes for the groomer to not forget to trim the dew claw. The next two visits were fine, dew claws were clipped and I thought the problem was solved. Took dog for grooming again and noticed dew claws were not clipped again. Took dog back to PetSmart and they could not cut the rear dew claws due to the nail curling and touching the paw pad. They were very apologetic. Took dog to vet again and had the dew claws cut short. PetSmart refused to reimburse the vet bill stating the groomer said she cut the dew claw and said dew claws grow really fast and can grow/curl into the paw pad within eight weeks. The manager said it wasn't their problem and took the vet bill information anyway. No reimbursement for vet bill. Will not take dog to Washington Square PetSmart again. read more

Re: GROOMING I told myself, and a handful of others, I was never returning to this location. My dog got fleas there after I complained about the RUDE associate that was on a personal call while she was grooming someone's pet & I waited to be checked in...the call was definitely PERSONAL but she didn't acknowledge me while I felt sorry for the poor pet that was getting subpar service while she held the phone between her ear & shoulder with a pair of cutting shears in her hand...the store manager Ryan knows who she is...you can't make this stuff up... Unfortunately, after going to other locations, time did not permit for me to run around town when this PetSmart is 2 min from home, but AGAIN, service was HORRIBLE & my dog looks like he got a botched job! I called another PetSmart that will be taking my dog in for a touchup, more money to spend, but I don't trust my pet there anymore & I wouldn't reccommend this location to anyone! TIGARD & 185th, NO PROBLEMS ever. I notice the grooming dept. manager, Tamara, (see review below), defends her location (attempting to secure her job) just as she defends her staff... what happened to customer satisfaction? And why would anyone want to trust their pet in the hands of people who obviously do not care? I have been searching for a place and trainer that both me and my dog took too, I met that trainer while she was helping me with some other stuff i was looking for. Nicol Ford, has a great class and me and my dog like it so far! We Will probably sign up for her next level class after this one is done! She also has alot of knowlege and suggestions on products and what can keep his mind engaged. I recently had my golden groomed at this petsmart. I was so pleased with her groom. The groomers name was Natalie. She was not only pleasant to talk to but was wonderful with my dog who seemed to warm up and calm down with Natalie. When i picked her up she seemed so happy and calm. Not only that Natalie made my dog and i feel like celebrities. I definitely recommend this petsmart and Natalie is awesome. read more

I love the crew, here they are very cool. They have a bigger selection when it comes to fish. I really like how helpful and kind the crew is at this location!!! I bought two gourami's, 6 guppies (one passed away the second day I got it ), an ivory snail, and two cory catfish..(not at the same time ofcourse). but thanks to the crew advice, all my little pets here are still alive and happy!! read more

I filled out an application to adopt a cat on Thursday. I was told by Angelina that someone would contact me the next day to ask some interview questions and to get the adoption rolling since the cat was not adopted yet. Friday came and I heard nothing about this. I just came in the store today on Saturday and the cat is gone and has been adopted. I asked to speak with the manager and now they are having a "hard" time finding my application. The manager states that she-the manager can not get into the safe where the adoption papers are. This absolutely ridiculous and such horrible customer service. Did I mention that when I was filling out the application Angelina was kept looking at me side eyed. I believe this was a race issue. Tanya in the Grooming Department is amazing. She has been grooming our Pomeranian for several years and he loves going to see her. In terms of the grooming itself, Tanya is very skilled at doing challenging cuts and our dog looks perfect every time we pick him up. She always has a comment card ready to let us know how he did during the groom and gives him lots of cuddles and attention while he's there. I highly recommend her. read more

I have taken our Shih tzu mix here 5 or 6 times for grooming. They are always friendly and welcoming when we walk in, and my dog is always extremely nervous..even though he's been quite a few times now. They always speak very gently to him and he's happy when I pick him up. The skill level of the groomers does seem to vary a bit...none of the grooms have been bad, but some have definitely been better than others. Last time in we had Taylor as our tech and she did a great job, and really listened to what I wanted. We'll be asking for her again. Price for full cut/groom including nails trimmed & ears cleaned is around $45 for our dog, less if we are just bringing him in for a touch- up. It's usually really easy to get an appointment at the last minute, too. read more

I am sadden by the customer service experience I get when I go into the grooming section - to get my dogs nails trimmed. Though I know it is my responsibility to know my dogs vaccination records it would be nice to have a reminder, ESPECIALLY If they are the one's REQUIRING IT. It is in their computer system after all. I am not sure how their system works, if it only tells them when I try and come in after it has expired or if it is up near her profile every time we check in. But the fact that we are regular customers (or WERE) I would have hoped to have gotten a courtesy reminder before her expiration of her rabies. My dog is an inside house dog, I don't take her to doggie daycare, and we don't really go to the vet often. So, how would I know when it expires unless i am reminded (and not the time when I am trying to come in and get her nails done. This is the second time it has happened and it will be the last time. The manager of Petsmart in the front of the store was very nice and understanding, I appreciate her attempt to understand where I was coming from. To me it is all about the customer service, if you want me to keep coming back to your business then give me a reason to - otherwise I will take my money else where. I am in search of a new place to get my dogs nails done, though this sadness me, I am done with this frustration. Daycares (human daycares) remind their clients when they need updated shots in order to keep enrolled, apartments keep their tenants updated when their lease's are up in order to keep them at the location - it is just a courtesy in my opinion. Something to look into, especially when you are checking in your clients for their appointments and if you are able to see when their shots are about to expire - why not give them a heads up, and if yours system does not do this, maybe you should see if it can. I don't know but I will not be going back. Though I will still go back to Petsmart for their toys and clothes for my dog and treats, but that is IT. read more
