Scheduled first grooming appointment last week. Groomer canceled last minute. Only received a text message but they said they called which calling record showed nothing. Scheduled second appointment, groomer said to make sure I get there before 3 because they're understaff so they're closing early. Groomer called a couple time about dog being too matted but my dog wasn't and had to stop partial way. I ended up taking my dog back partially groomed and finished the grooming myself. Petsmart is a terrific company that does a lot for pets. They allow groups to bring animals in for adoption; they won't sell dogs or cats; they have terrific charities to help abandoned and stray animals. I enjoy this location; the staff is very helpful (they helped me find a very specific collar and were glad to do so) and personable. The signage is excellent; it's not difficult to find most items. I have nothing to offer on their grooming or veterinary services; I've heard mixed reviews, but never used them myself. The store itself is terrific, and I'd recommend it. read more

This review is in regard to the Grooming department. Trained groomer, Z, apparently has a problem with dogs jumping on her. Had a serious attitude and caused damage to my dog's ears. We should have trusted our instinct and not left our dog with her nasty disposition because less than 30 minutes after we dropped our dog off, we got a call to pick up the dog because the groomer, Z, had to stop the grooming. We picked up our dog with shaved ears and tail, no bath or other service as requested. Then the management calls me the next day simply to co-sign the behavior and for me to regurgitate what happened. Offered nothing more. Absolutely ridiculous! read more

Ripoff central for dog grooming. Prices don't reflect the website and they dictate prices by the day. When we called to confirm the price that they charged us they gave us a different price than what we paid. We have a pug, and it costs $50 (without tip) for a simple bath, nail grinding, and teeth brushing. This is the second attempt at PetSmart Acworth. We left PetSmart the first time because the groomer provided a quote over the phone and then charged us more. Don't go here. We recommend Bubble Tubs in downtown Kennesaw. DO NOT GO HERE.......!!!!! The grooming salon staff is so unprofessional. I brought my dog in for nail grinding. His appointment was at 11:30am. When I dropped him off it took about 20mins because the groomer wanted my dog's rabies form & other med form from Banfield. Once that was complete Allie said I could leave my dog and that it usually takes 20mins. I told her that I was running to a store next door. The time is now 11:45am. At 12noon Allie begin calling me non stop. Concerned for my dog, I answered. Allie said it had been an hour an she had been calling me over the store intercom. I reminded her that I had left the store. She was extremely rude. It hadn't been an hour at all. I told her that I was on my way back. Two minutes passed and she called me again. In disbelief I answered, Allie asked me "What's your ETA?". I told her that we had just spoken. She said I know but where are you? I arrived to the store extremely frustrated! Once I walked through the door of the grooming salon Allie was standing behind the counter holding my dog. As soon as she saw me she begins telling me off..." It's been hours, your dog is old.... Allie was disrespectful and spoke to me as if I was beneath her. I asked her to STOP & asked for my slip to pay. The girls seemed rushed and talked fast and short and asked questions like drill sergeants. The dogs came out looking ok but my Westin was butchered on her neck. It's a sincere shame that I feel the need to write this review, but after seeing a few of these others, it's clear that they need to make a VERY serious change. I have been going to this location for a few years and am typically happy with the service. But this last time made it clear that they have some serious work to do. I scheduled a 1pm spa appointment for Friday. On the day of, I discovered that two of my staff were out with Covid. Consequently, one of the PetSmart staff called me at 10am to say they had a cancellation if I wanted to come early. I thanked them and explained that it wasn't an option under the circumstances, explained my own situation, and asked if I should reschedule. The earliest appointment was next week, so I asked if it would be possible for me to be 15-20 minutes late and that I would be happy to reschedule if not. The person was very understanding, said that it wouldn't be a problem and that I could come in at that time. I was able to arrange to leave my Kennesaw office at 12:30pm (my drive home is less than 20 minutes and I live less than 10 from the store) and called again to remind them that I had to pick up my dog and would be late. The person I spoke with reiterated that it would not be a problem and to come on in. I arrived at 1:18pm EXACTLY AS I HAD STATED TWICE (and was told it would be 'just fine'), leashed my dog, and came into the store. As I approached the spa door, a woman with two dogs and a baby walked in in front of me. I sat on the outside bench and waited for my turn... and waited... and waited. By 1:30pm, I decided to walk around the aisle end cap in search of a new collar while I waited for my turn. I met an older woman with her grandson who was excited to see my dog and let him pet him, keeping an eye on the spa door the entire time. After a few minutes, I went back to sit outside the door, trying to be understanding that the woman in front of me was taking a very long time to register her dogs. I made three phone calls before the door finally opened. The time was 1:41pm. The woman (? - without trying to be rude, I couldn't begin to guess the gender of the person: they had 12 # of matted black hair and clown make up) was very friendly, asked my name and dog's name, and asked what services I was there for. My 70# Chow is very excitable and tough to handle sometimes, so I answered her(?) questions as best I could while untangling myself from the leash. She(?) went to the other computer to check his records (why it wasn't on the first one, I haven't a clue) and began to pull up our history. It was helped by another young girl who was grooming a dog on the first bay. When they finally found our records, she (?) exclaimed that it was 1:46pm and they would not be able to take us since it was so late (do take a moment to imagine what that must have been like to hear). I said that, no, I had been there for half an hour, had spoken to two representatives who both told me that arriving at the time I stated (which I did) would be 'just fine', and needed to get my dog groomed for a relative's visit. She(?) had the audacity to say loudly that 'no!', I arrived at 1:40, since she 'saw' me outside (is your blood pressure rising at this, because mine certainly was). I corrected the mistake, explained at what time I had actually arrived (again: 1:18pm) and said that they needed to groom my dog, It told me that there was nothing that they could do, to which I answered that there most certainly was: they could groom my dog. No dice. I walked (trotted? what does one do when they're THAT angry?) out to the front and asked to speak to a manager, quite visibly angry. The young lady at the front called for one. I waited and waited (are you sensing a theme here?) and finally told her to forget it and left the store. On the way to take my dog BACK home, I called the store and asked to speak to a manager. I was connected with Natalie, who had been very helpful on a few occasions before. I explained the situation and she said that she would find out about it and call me back in 'a few minutes'. It is three days later and guess who is still waiting for a phone call? Get it together, PetSmart. Losing one person's long time business is one thing. You don't want to lose any more. read more

I've always been a Petsmart customer, they've always had consistent service no matter where we were. How ever, the employees at this location need to make a day trip to Augusta to learn how to treat customer AND how to treat dogs while there being bathed and groomed. Took a dog I was pet-sitting in for a bath, Furminator, etc treatment. The intake staff was very friendly. My dog was in a great mood when I picked her up, and they even brushed her teeth because she was too irritable to let them mess with her nails. This grooming salon was EXTREMELY chaotic on the day that I visited! No one greeted, dogs were being handled roughly and it was dirty. I had an appointment for my two-year-old Yorkie. I stood outside of the glass window just observing for about 10 minutes to see if I actually wanted to leave her there since we are new to the city and it would have been her first time there. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to watch. I definitely made the choice to go across the street to the Petco. No thanks! read more

She said the check in time was wrong and then informed me that they had a new policy that if my dog had to urinate more than 2 times while she was there they would take her to the vet at banfield (their Vet) to be checked out. I have been coming here for all my pets' needs for years (3 dogs, 2 cats, hamsters, and a gerbil). I even adopted my cats at this location. We've utilized the grooming salon and Banfield numerous times. That all ends as of today. A few hours ago, I was told to put on a mask when I entered the store. I explained to them that I have asthma and that wearing a mask could precipitate a severe asthma attack. Upon hearing this, the teenage cashier yelled at me, as rudely as possible, in front of a crowd of people to get my shopping done and get out! From now on, I will take my business to the competition across the street. Hopefully, they know how to treat long-term customers with respect. read more

Disappointing. I was in this part of town with my dog, Kit, and she really needed SOMEthing. A wash, a brushing, a spritz of puppy perfume, something. I called ahead from the Yelp app and asked if I could just drop in. They checked and said yes we can take you now. I said okay we are heading there right now. Got there in maybe 5-7 minutes. I arrived and there were three-four people all standing near each other helping one guy. Then each of them asked me what I needed, within like 3 minutes. I didn't remember that I needed Kit's papers to show that she is up to date on shots, so that's my bad. Girl #1 offered to call my Vet. She wrote down my name and my phone number.. and my dog's name... kinda: "Kite." At the same time Girl #1 and Girl #2 were trying to figure out which one of them told me to, "come in, now." They said are you sure you called this location? I said, yes, and I read the number from my phone. The girl said, "Yea, that's the Kennesaw location." I said, oh crap.. I'm sorry. Girl #1 went back to helping some other guy that walked in. An older woman (older than these girls,) started calling the vet, and called my phone number. I saw the call come in, and thought the Kennesaw store was calling me to find out where I was, so I answered.. Surprise, it's the lady standing in front of me, and she felt silly, which made me feel bad. When I answered and realized it was her, I said, Oh, whoops, it's me. She goes "Oh I'm sorry I have the wrong number" into the phone. I said, yea, you're calling me. That was awkward. They asked my vet's name so they could look it up. There are multiple locations "North," "South," "Main.." Kinda, etc. I said it's the one on [X] Road. They said, No.. I said, yes.. They said, oh we can't tell, there's no addresses here. Sigh. They clicked on it, and then found it.. Called, and my vet was not open yet. It was about 9ish on Saturday. I asked if I could just go to Banfield (their vet) to get a shot done quick and then come back (right away, I meant). They said, yes, but they can't accept her still for 48 hours. They say it's in case she has an allergic reaction to the shot. I said okay, thanks anyway, I'll try again another time. She said like 8 things to me on the way out, thanking me for coming, happy Thanksgiving, get the shot done, and then come back on Monday.. etc etc. I am not even close to the area, so it's not likely I'll be back any time soon. This Petsmart was not terrible, but I've had better experiences for sure. Bummer! read more

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG HERE TO BE GROOMED. Save yourself the frustration and heartache. If I could give Acworth's grooming salon a lower rating than one star I would. My dogs and I had the worst experience we ever had. I'd taken my dogs to the PetSmart in Hiram and had a great experience. But even though my dogs are in the system, they were groomed last month at a PetSmart store, and I brought documented paperwork to show that they were current on all their vaccines, they refused to groom them. Included on the vaccination record was proof that they'd had their rabies shots for the year. I presented current rabies tags with the 2021 date of their rabies shots and tag numbers that corresponded with the numbers on the shot record. She found my dogs records in the system that showed that they'd been groomed by PetSmart before and that we presented proof of current vaccinations. The groomer said that we needed a booster for a rabies shot and that she couldn't tell when they had been vaccinated! My poor puppies were so stressed one was pooping profusely. Our appointment was for 8 am. The groomer showed no compassion for an owner who got up at the crack of dawn and her 2 stressed-out puppies. read more

When you complain they act like it's not their fault. The trainer there never gave me a refund when my dog got sick from using the potty outside from all the nastiness left from other dogs not cleaned up! My cat MacGyver has completely shredded his cactus-shaped sisal scratching post and begun conditioning his claws on each corner of my mid-century camelback couch instead. Since his fourth Birthday is fast approaching, I headed to this Petsmart to find him a new post to serve as his gift. This Petsmart is the cleanest I've set foot in and offers an impressive variety of catios, cat perches and scratching posts. I scored a piece of kitty furniture that boasts three vertical claw conditioning surfaces: sisal, carpet and wood; plus, two carpeted perches hold the posts together, with a feather dangling from the lower seat. MacGyver already has ripped it apart, but never fear - the feather toy is detachable, allowing me to refresh the hanging teaser!! !! !! AND, I got $30 off the total price with my Pet Perks card!!! !!! !!! My tasteful sofa is beyond repair, but at least my spoiled pussy will keep his claws off its remains. read more

The cat/kitten adoption lady Lori is super rude and unprofessional. We went in two days ago and Lori wouldn't even let my daughter see the kittens. We went back today and my 4 year old found a kitten she fell in Love with. Lori interviewed us over the phone for 30 minutes. She told us to come back Friday at 6 pm to get him. Well we went back tonight to let me daughter see the kitten again and Lori was there. She told us because we have 3 kids that we were not allowed to adopt the kitten and was so rude to my 4 year old. She then proceeded to tell us that the kitten has now been promised to someone else after she told us we could adopt him earlier this morning!!! my 4 year old knows how to handle kittens/cats since we have a 2 year old cat who we adopted at 4 weeks old. This lady was so condescending to my 4 year old and then to my husband and I. She is unprofessional and rude. My 4 year old left bawling her eyes out. The staff at the front tried to help calm my daughter by giving her stickers. The Petsmart staff was great but the Volunteer Lori that works for the humane society has a bad rep even with Petsmart employees. She is on a power trip for no reason. We will never go back to this store now because of this lady. She gave the entire Petsmart company a bad name today. read more

I will always be fond of this location. When my baby was attacked a few months back they took care of her each week when changing her bandages and cleaning her up. My dog, of only 14lbs, was attacked by a German Shepard and as scared as my little baby was, they worked well with her to keep her happy while there. We got there six minutes before the doo we got there six minutes before the store The doors would not open I thought something was wrong because the employees were walking by me not saying anything so I open the door myself then as I walk in I was told the store was closed then my husband walked in behind me and this young kid aggressively walked up to him and said how dare we open the doors and supposedly the manager Sean said they always close the doors five minutes before 7 PM so everybody is out the door by 7 PM I've never been to a store that does that as I told him how is that fair to me as a customer that drove specifically to that store knowing I had a good 10 minutes before the store closed. Also found out sean was not a manager and the young blond kid who was trying to leave early. I should never feel uncomfortable walking into a store having several employees be aggressive about their hours like I'm supposed to know they close five minutes before the time is stated on their doors. This is the second time I have taken my dog for a nail grind only to find grooming closed - with different hour posted on the grooming door. All I got from the manager was that the website is controlled by corporate. Disappointing customer service and many other places trim nails. read more

I adopted Shaggy in January and our family has a very special bond with him. (He's a small shi-poo by the way) He has gone to petsmart for grooming several times. Not until recently have they told me that he barks the whole time and that we should make appointments for express wash. Which at the time no one told me it was an extra fee. Then today I go there for his appointment at 7:30 am and the manager tells me. That records show shaggy has aggression problems and has had to be sent home incomplete. This makes me very upset because no one again no one has every stated this to me! His owner! That's something they should have told me. And I have never noticed him not fully groomed and if that is the case I shouldn't have had to pay for a full grooming! They let me schedule him and no one even gave me a call to let me know that he wouldn't be able to get groomed. The least they could have done is told me over the phone and not waste my time driving up there. this place is awful and has no communication skills! read more

I made a grooming appointment online only to find out upon arrival that my appointment had been "cancelled" with the allegation from Rachel that the store "tried to call me" before I arrived which my phone records proved to be untrue. Unfortunately I could not have my dog seen that day. I called when I left the store to speak with a manager but was told that "everyone was too busy" and to call back in 10 minutes. Love how close this location is to our new home. Both of our Shih Tzu's visit this location for grooming and vet services. We never leave disappointed with grooming services. Meghan (short hair and glasses...very sweet) is our usual groomer. She is FANTASTIC and Casey and Kobe LOVE her! Today we had grooming appointments for both dogs but Meghan was booked :( However we were very pleased with the grooming from Susan (she groomed Casey) and Torie. This location was great when we went there to purchase pet hamsters for our daughters. We originally went to another location but they had run out of them. This location was bigger, neater, and brighter. Megan helped us out with what kind of hamsters to buy (surprisingly there are a few breeds and they all have different temperaments). That customer was the biggest jerk. He was talking down to Sean and Sean was handling the problem. My husband and I have been coming here for a few years to buy our dogs food and supplies. No complaints just an average store to shop for our dog. We stopped by to buy our dog food which they stopped carrying and happened to ask an employee what she would recommend.
