After taking my dog and spending way too much just to have him bathed at Barkers dog Grooming in Lenoir I was not pleased with the results after they kept him for 5 hours. something told me to take him to Petsense in Lenoir just because I was told that they couldn't do clean poodle feet on him cause he was too scared and I chose to stay there while they attempt to get him used to getting clean feet. Well when I take my standard poodle to Petsense, they ask me have everything been done just to confirm that all they needed to do is give him clean feet! for some odd reason, Casey asks to check my dog! She took a look at his ears and informs me that barkers grooming of Lenoir did Not clean his ears but charged me. Casey also pulled clogs of dirty cotton swabs out of his ears and he havent even been there 24 hrs at all! I felt lied to and heartbroken! She also pointed out how they did not cut phantoms nails and file them as they said they did. Apparently barkers dog grooming of Lenoir only gave him a bath and clean face and Nothing else and I was also lied to and told not to cut his puppy coat which would have caused him to matt up due to the adult coat coming in. I paid $82.40 just to have to have Casey fix the issue for me (which she did free of charge due to the fact that I had already overspent). I will always take my poodle to Petsense and Casey referred me to Emily who could do pom-poms on his feet and cut him the way I would like for him to be cut and she did not have to do that. It was done out of the kindness of her heart. I feel they wanted to rush and get him done at barkers grooming just because phantom was a fill in and I could of been told to come back before charging me and half doing the job! I really will never ever be taking him to anybody else but Petsense due to the fact they made my dog look just how I wanted him to look without irritating his ears or shoving him in a kennel! I spoke to the manager Angie at barkers dog grooming, she had every excuse it the book instead of offering to fix the issue, After leaving a horrible review on their website, she later called me and offered to give me a refund and was professionally rude to me, I did Nothing to deserve this and I will never go back! Thanks petsense for making my dog look how I wanted ! Emily has a forever Client at Petsense and was actually cheaper and the job was actually done! Within 3 hours! I advise you to not take your doggie to Barker's grooming in lenoir because there are other options. Thanks Petsense for fixing the issue ! read more

We love the Lenoir Petsense. We have brought our dog here ever since she was a puppy. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and give love and hugs to our dog. We use the grooming services and find they do a great job. Our dog always come back fresh, cleaned and trimmed. Is this store as big and well stocked as a big box store, no, but we find most everything we need for food, treat and toys. read more

Worst customer service. I called to make a grooming appointment on Saturday and was put on hold. After 10+ minutes someone came back on line to take my name and number. 26 hours later my call was returned I made an appointment for a bath for my 7 pound dachshund. Monday I showed up before her scheduled time and was asked if she had any health issues. I said no but there was a possibility that she may or may not have 1 flea. I was told that they could not take her but bring her back I a couple of weeks. Are you kidding me? She has dry skin and her scratching was probably because of that Oh no she can't be in there with the possibility of a flea. Stay away from this place. I hate to think how their business runs in the summertime. read more

Wonderful staff and excellent service. There is a small town feel where customers are recognized as well as their pets!

The ladies are helpful but can appear aggravated at times. This is the only place I can find my cat food without going all the way to morganton or Hickory. They can be a bit pricey as well. read more

It might not have as wide of a selection as what you find in Hickory but this is a great store. The have pet adoptions every weekend and sometimes during the week. Once or twice a month the even have a mobile vet on site for vaccinations and care. Also in the store is a full service groomer and is above wonderful! They can even take care of my 4 pound monster that bites everyone and on Sundays they have nail clipping half off. Which is great since my chihuahuas won't let me touch their feet. Also if they are ever out of anything they will go out of they way to order it for you. read more

I used to love this store. I was respected by the employees there and always enjoyed taking my dog for a visit. Until last week. I stopped to buy dog food and was treated horribly by the employees (one of whom I believe might have been the manager). The employees spoke to me as if I were stupid and argued with me when I tried to prove a point. I recommend to EVERYONE that you take the time to drive to Hickory or Morganton and shop at PetSmart or Petco! I left the store without my dog food and went to PetSmart in Morganton where the employees were very helpful and respectful!!! If I could give this rating a 0, I WOULD! read more
