After taking my dog and spending way too much just to have him bathed at Barkers dog Grooming in…read moreLenoir I was not pleased with the results after they kept him for 5 hours. something told me to take him to Petsense in Lenoir just because I was told that they couldn't do clean poodle feet on him cause he was too scared and I chose to stay there while they attempt to get him used to getting clean feet. Well when I take my standard poodle to Petsense, they ask me have everything been done just to confirm that all they needed to do is give him clean feet! for some odd reason, Casey asks to check my dog! She took a look at his ears and informs me that barkers grooming of Lenoir did Not clean his ears but charged me. Casey also pulled clogs of dirty cotton swabs out of his ears and he havent even been there 24 hrs at all! I felt lied to and heartbroken! She also pointed out how they did not cut phantoms nails and file them as they said they did. Apparently barkers dog grooming of Lenoir only gave him a bath and clean face and Nothing else and I was also lied to and told not to cut his puppy coat which would have caused him to matt up due to the adult coat coming in. I paid $82.40 just to have to have Casey fix the issue for me (which she did free of charge due to the fact that I had already overspent). I will always take my poodle to Petsense and Casey referred me to Emily who could do pom-poms on his feet and cut him the way I would like for him to be cut and she did not have to do that. It was done out of the kindness of her heart. I feel they wanted to rush and get him done at barkers grooming just because phantom was a fill in and I could of been told to come back before charging me and half doing the job! I really will never ever be taking him to anybody else but Petsense due to the fact they made my dog look just how I wanted him to look without irritating his ears or shoving him in a kennel! I spoke to the manager Angie at barkers dog grooming, she had every excuse it the book instead of offering to fix the issue, After leaving a horrible review on their website, she later called me and offered to give me a refund and was professionally rude to me, I did Nothing to deserve this and I will never go back! Thanks petsense for making my dog look how I wanted ! Emily has a forever Client at Petsense and was actually cheaper and the job was actually done! Within 3 hours! I advise you to not take your doggie to Barker's grooming in lenoir because there are other options. Thanks Petsense for fixing the issue !

Dehydration was blamed on time spent on patio. IF true, a competent staff would have recognized a problem and taken corrective action. It's clear no corrective action was taken. The injuries were blamed on the time spent sleeping on a hard surface. We were told the dogs would have cots to sleep on, but because they supposedly had a potty accident, the cots were removed. Nonetheless, the injuries appear to be cuts/scrapes, not pressure wounds. Again, a competent staff would have noticed a problem and taken corrective action. If there is something in the kennel causing injuries, why has it not been addressed? We received NO COMMUNICATION regarding injuries, not even when picking up our dogs. I guess they hoped we would not notice. We received NO COMMUNICATION regarding weight loss/dehydration, but I guess they would have to first be observant enough to notice a problem. We paid to have our dogs taken care of but all they seem to have received was neglect. NEVER AGAIN!

ONE STAR -- After today, we are done with Caldwell Animal Hospital…read more I took my dog, Boo, to Caldwell Animal Hospital today. After this experience, neither of our pets will ever be back. We waited 45 minutes before we were taken to an exam room. Then we waited another 10 minutes before an assistant came in, took a few notes, and left. Still no veterinarian. We continued waiting with no indication whatsoever of when a doctor would actually see Boo. Eventually, the office manager came in because she recognized that we were upset. I expected an apology, an explanation, or at the very least an estimate of how much longer we would be waiting. Instead, she informed us that "any wait under an hour is reasonable." That response was the final straw. We walked out and told them we would not be returning. And apparently they got the message loud and clear, because shortly afterward they emailed us the complete medical records for BOTH of our pets, Boo and Bogey -- their entire charts -- without us even requesting them. Message received. I understand that veterinary offices have emergencies and schedules sometimes fall behind. What I don't accept is poor communication, no meaningful estimate of when my pet will actually be seen, and then being told that I should simply consider that kind of wait "reasonable." We've trusted this practice with both of our animals, and that relationship ended today. If Caldwell Animal Hospital considers this an acceptable way to treat established clients, we'll happily take Boo and Bogey -- and our business -- somewhere else. They already sent us the records. We'll put them to good use.
