We absolutely love coming here because the staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. They all seem to genuinely care about your pets and you can't beat the prices. I wish they had a better treat selection, but they have enough that you can find something for even the pickiest of eaters. All in all, top of our list as favorite pet store and we look forward to bring our dogs here every month when it's time to restock.

They have a great variety of fish to choose from as well as other tiny critters. They have an incredible setup! They have an open tank in the center where they keep a small shark. They have another incredible tank on the side where they keep their enormous monster fish! I can tell the owner loves and respects them. His passion for his work can be easily seen! The staff was also extremely nice and helpful. It was beyond busy and we ended up staying about 30 minutes after closing. They were not rude at all about this, they did not rush us, and they were more than happy to help! They also seemed to be having a baby shower with the community. I thought this was an awesome way to connect with customers and bring everyone together! Congrats on the baby and my best wishes to you and your family. On another note, I did see that someone else had complained about them being open only one day a week. I do not mind this! The owner operates other businesses from what I understood and it seems they have a large client base online. I also think that this sort of industry open only one day a week is quite smart. I know many smaller places like this might not experience very consistent walk-in traffic throughout the week. This helps to cut on the cost to run the place and I respect that! Which I felt like that at south shore tropicals when I spoke on the phone with them. Another thing I think is good is that this place is strictly dedicated towards saltwater tanks whereas others are more divided in their interests and this guy is very knowledgeable. So that's that. P.s. my friend told me not to buy fish there because he saw that some of them had ick. This friend I'm speaking of is more advanced in the hobby of reef tank keeping than I am so I took his advice. They definitely know their fish - from breeds to care to what and how much to get to decorate your tank. Expert advice on what type of fish may suit your needs and will actually go out of their way to explain why. They actually care that you will take good care of these little guys. For a reasonable fee, you can have them come to your home to set your entire tank up. This was the TOPPER that made me give them their well deserved 5 stars. The owner actually babysat my little fish. Yes he did. Three years ago we bought our first house in Levittown and I didn't know what to do with my 20 gallon tank and five little fish who at that point had lived past a year. He said he would actually keep our fish in a separate tank until we set up the tank in our house. When we went back to pick them up a few days later, there they were, swimming around happily. At about $400 you can sell the fishes Sex and the fish in the 400 500 and $600 bins are just absolutely freaking gorgeous the most amazing beautiful Japanese pure bread Koi that you've ever seen. I know this stuff. You will walk out of that with an absolute gem for your POND and it's a fun experience. I sent my sister with her kids.. it strange, because they have a huge aquatic waterfall feature in the corner and it's still something that I would pass by because the bushes are shrubs don't exactly spell out "KOI". This place is a very serious good quality place with the quality water and amazing staff. I remember being fascinated by the plumbing setup in that store. There was basically a network of plumbing under your feet. I think the new store is by appointment only and I've been there a few times. It's worth the phone call and personal attention. Call to confirm this though, I am not 100% sure. I consider myself well-versed in the hobby but that doesn't mean I don't need a hand from time-to-time and it certainly doesn't mean I know everything. Some of my coral wasn't looking so good and I just wanted someone to take a look and offer their opinion. Downs did just that. I called Downs at noon on a Friday and they were booked for the day but he still stopped by at the end of the day to help out. I figured I wouldn't see anyone for at least a few days, never mind same-day. He was concerned that if we waited to long I might lose a few pieces and he didn't want that to happen. Downs is a really good guy. Doesn't try to shove products down your throat or his methods. This hobby definitely isn't a one-size-fits-all and he understands that. While I don't think he agreed with all of my methods, he considers them and works around them. While I enjoy doing my own water-changes and maintaining my own tank, I will definitely have Downs by once a month just to look things over. One other important thing to mention and this may or may not be important to most people. With babies and kids in the house, we take our shoes off. As soon as Downs walked in, he took his shoes off before I even had to ask. Now imagine having them service your tank(s)? Drop-clothes, plastic, I am sure they are meticulous.
