DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE, THIS MAN NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!! This is the second time we have been in this store and we definitely learned our lesson. Every animal in there was dying. There was a big snapping turtle in a bin that had zero water in it and the water filter was bone dry... We couldn't tell if it was dead or alive. So many big predatory fish were in tanks they can't even turn around in. Fish tanks are filled with algae and did not appear to be cleaned for months, if ever. We wanted to save these animals but could not bring ourselves to give this guy any money just to spend on more animals that will be abused and neglected. Not to mention how dark and filthy it was throughout the whole store. You couldn't tell what was for sale and what was for show. As a loyal customer. And now, our pet is gone. WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. To a breeder. This is disgusting behavior and completely exploitative. NEVER EVER TRUST THIS BUSINESS. Dirty, dusty and unorganized. They had nothing I needed and nothing for raw feeding and it looked like all the merchandise was really old

The animals are living in filth and the fish tanks are full of dead fish. :( I'm really not sure how this place is still in business! Their products were covered in dust and weirdly overpriced. The "gentleman" upfront weren't exactly warm or inviting. They had snakes in tanks that were on the ground in the middle of an isle. Also, the small man at the front with long hair was really creepy and our awkward conversations made me feel like I was walking into the twilight zone. I'm not sure you're supposed to feel like calling the humane society when you walk into pet store?! I definitely shouldn't feel the need to rescue all of the animals! This has been my go-to pet store since I was a child. The staff is always super nice and helpful and they always have an interesting selection of reptiles, fish, rodents, birds, you name it and their prices are better than big chain pet stores. I'm an avid rodent lover and have been buying 90% of my pet rats and mice from them for over a decade. They are sold as feeders but they make wonderful pets, many come in rare and fancy coats and colors like satins, siamese, himilayan, champagne, and all sorts of pretty markings that would be sold for way more at other pet stores! Some of the mice I've got there have lived LONG beyond their life expectancy of 2 years. I currently have one that recently hit the 3 year mark which is nearly unheard of. My last purchase was 2 beautiful rats to be a companion to one I'd previously gotten there, all 3 are gorgeous and get lots of compliments, all 3 were litter box trained within a few days, one of them learned tricks like giving kisses on command, spinning, and coming when called! The staff is super helpful and will go out of their way to help you, including making phone calls to help you get info and then actually calling you back with the info promptly. I've personally never had 1 bad experience there, though its true some stuff is a little dusty, but I dont ever mind because I never leave there unsatisfied and without having fun or striking up an interesting conversation with staff. They get some extra brownie points because last time I was there my sandal broke and a nice staff member went out of his way by gluing it back together for me. They are really that nice. Added bonus because they dont mind you handling the animals for as long as you want which is very important when chosing a pet. I always feel rushed and like I'm an inconvenience at other pet stores, but never here, I always feel welcomed. read more

Disgusting store. There is dust on many products, rats are not in correct size cages and many of the birds have been there for much longer than they should. It was my second time visiting and it was unpleasant once again. Very bad and rude service from the person I assume to be the owner, no helpfulness whatsoever. Do not give this establishment your business, the poor animals live in filth. I would recommend going to Petland in Largo Mall instead. read more

I have been buying bird supplies here for many years. They have a baby rainbow macaw with clipped wings that was very friendly. I went in today and the macaw was in a glass cage, about a foot high with hardware cloth on the top. I asked if I could pet the bird as he was responding to my communication. The cashier told me the bird was being punished for trying to fly! This is like punishing a child for trying to walk. I expressed my disappointment but was brushed off. This is how animals are taught to mistrust and dislike humans. read more

One star. While some say this is undeserving, I think the people who run this place are lazy and unknowledgeable. They are friendly enough, but the condition of their animals is ridiculously bad. Pet stores exist to help keep your animal happy and healthy. Selling malnourished animals in dirty cages is pretty hypocritical. Major complaints; Coming to buy baby mice, and discovering a cage full of dead mangled babies. Their response to my outcry: oh man, I guess the mother rejected the babies." Ok, all of them were half eaten and dead, some still breathing. How long does it take for a normal pet store owner to realize that their mouse-wet-mother killed their entire new shipment of babies?? I dunno. Rejection happens, but this happened at least 3 times in the few months I went there. Second. I bought a reptile from the store, a monitor. He was fully grown and angry. I asked the kid that worked there what they feed it, and he said, "a pink baby mouse every week". I look up some info online, come to find out, this particular species is omnivorous, and should eat mealworms, crickets, and some veggies daily. I offered to buy the lizard for $20, since they said he's been therefor 2 years. Already horrified, the king on the cake was when the teenage employee opened the cage and reached in with a rattlesnake claw-arm, and tried to catch the lizard that way. I intervened and grabbed it with my hands despite his warnings, and today he is fat and happy, and loves to be pet. Idiots. Don't enable these guys to neglect any more animals by shopping here. read more

They had what I was looking for which was the Evo brand of cat food, they had the canned and dry kind.

The place may not be "beautiful" but I work in nursing homes and know when people (and animals) are well cared for. They are making progress in updating but the owner is very in tune with his customers and willing to work with you unlike some of the franchised pet places. The owner is companionate even about the fish and that tells me volumes!!! read more

Uh, not so much! The guy working was a pretty big pile of useless. My boyfriend and I went into this store to buy rats as pets which theirs were only feeders so they kept them in the back. First off NO GREETING at all! My boyfriend had to ask for his help. He led us into a dingy poorly lit room that seriously looked like something out of a movie were someone loses a kidney. The room smelled god awful not like a normal pet store. It felt disgusting, again not like a normal pet store. Not very well kept and the prices on the products were a bit high. He basically tried to talk us into getting smaller rats, saying that larger rats were real jumpy and scared all the time and that we basically didn't want them. We reached into the large rats cage and pulled them out no problem. Calmest rats I've held. He then said "I didn't know they were that calm". To top off our amazing experience the guy (knowing we were there to get them as pets) when he saw we were being too gentle trying to put a rat in the box the size of a baseball case (no lie) proceeded to take him from me and man handle him into the box while saying "IM not afraid to put you in there". The only reason they get 2 stars is because we got 2 awesome rats from him other than that the guy was a jerk! read more

Terrible place for pet supplies. Everything is overpriced. Don't let me get started on their fish selection. They have dead fish everywhere, half the tanks do t have lights, algae everywhere. I would suggest never buying a fish from this place. If you're trying to get some quick dog/cat food for an extremely unfair price, then come here. But please don't buy a fish from this place.
