Regrettably, we have had to visit VEG a few times with my 15 1/2-year-old fur-baby. At each visit, we were immediately assessed by a doctor or medical technician and asked the most crucial questions about our baby. We are allowed to stay with her, which is an essential aspect of this visit. I find it distressing when they take my dog away, and I am unaware of what is happening to her behind the scenes. Is she being treated, or is she just sitting in a cage? At VEG, I'm always with my pet, receiving information and support. There is no other emergency veterinary clinic like VEG. If you are concerned about the price being more than others, they are not. They don't over-treat or over-change. If it's important to you to be with your pet when they're going through a medical crisis, this is the place for you. read more

This is by far the most professional, attentive, and kind vet staff I have ever been around My dog is very reactive and HATES the vet. With all his barking and resistance not a single staff member broke composure, unlike other vets we have been to. They were reassuring "they got this," and it was no problem. Although my dog was beyond hope, he was treated ed with compassion and care as was I. They provided a room with a bed as it was late at night so that I could lay next to my dog as he was on an IV. Although he ultimately didn't make it, the care was what we needed. read more

We had to keep him there for 24hrs and they let us stay in a room with him the whole time which most places do not offer and I appreciate not having to leave my baby alone. Highly recommend! Took my dog here after lots of vomiting, potty issues, and extreme lethargy. He was attended to quickly and with a lot of dotting and kindness from all of the staff. When your dog/best friend/ baby is really sick it can cause you to feel really anxious and scared. But the cheerful and positive nature of all of the staff that attended to us gave me so much peace of mind in a stressful situation. You can tell that everyone that works here deeply cares for and loves animals and loves their jobs. The cost is expensive but that is to be expected for emergency care. They provided my dog with fluids and diagnostic testing promptly. Thankfully he was later able to pass a squeaker toy that he ate. We took our German Shepherd here bc she had an undisclosed level 6 heart murmur. They took great care of our Lyla. We had to take her again today, bc the vet we've been going to couldn't give us a diagnosis. We took her there 5 times in the last 6 weeks! I begged my husband to get a second opinion, which he thankfully did. They recommended to us, to bring her back here. In the last 6 weeks, we've spent almost $3k, at said vet! We brought her in here, and they nailed it immediately! She has a severe inner ear infection. We are finally getting her the right treatment. All of her symptoms line up, and we are so thankful, the infection didn't reach her brain. She's truly so loved by us. I'm also thankful that the "2nd opinion vet" saw the problem outside of their treatment ability. I respect them so much for that. Instead of throwing more medication at us, and sending her home, they quickly recognized the gravity of her condition. Thank you so much for! We are truly so grateful. From the moment I first called VEG yesterday through receiving a follow up tonight, our experience with VEG Clearwater was an incredible mix of professionalism, kindness and empathy. We are visiting my MIL and while our 12 year old pup had some lameness in her rear right leg before our trip, over Thanksgiving she wasn't able to walk on her leg at all. We brought her in and got a diagnosis fairly quickly considering this is a vet ER (wish that human ERs could be run as efficiently). Our pup was given a large pillow and we were offered various snacks while we waited to see the doc. There was lots going on but we noticed that everyone (2 legged and 4 legged) was treated with care and concern. Now that we have the reason for our pup's lameness we can get her the surgery she needs back home in 2 days. The vet techs and vet assistants were all awesome and comforting and the doc was able to figure out what M's problem was quickly. Highly recommend this Vet ER! read more

update: my heart dog suddenly got very ill, and i brought her back here because i trust them. they did everything they could for her, but ultimately i had to say goodbye. the entire staff, every shift, was so extremely kind and thoughtful... they treated dumpling like their own. it made a horrific, traumatic experience a lot more bearable. i'd like to especially thank christian, who stayed glued to her side all night when she was in her ICU oxygen cube. i also stayed glued to her side overnight, and he never once made me feel like i was overstepping or hovering. he showed me little kindnesses, like having me help him with some of his dumpling tasks so that i could have a chance to pet her and let her sniff me so that she knew i was there. jessica was also wonderful... she made one of the private rooms into a mini hotel room, so i had a private place to rest and process when i needed to. all of the vets who helped stabilize and keep dumpling comfortable were just absolutely fantastic... i'm so grateful for everything they did for my baby. robyn, a godsend, looked after me and gave me many beautiful extra minutes with my girl to say goodbye. i hated every second of what happened, but i'm so glad it happened here instead of anywhere else. i'm so glad i got to sit with my pup at all hours thanks to their open concept model, and i'm so glad that i got to have dumpling in my arms so that she departed this life with kisses and love instead of feeling scared and alone. My experience with VEG was unique from the time I called and asked a question, AND WAS ABLE TO SPEAK TO A DOCTOR for an answer to the constant interaction and involvement with staff and my pet. Bringing your animal to VEG is on the same lines as bringing your child to the emergency room, you pet stays with you and you get involved as much as you want. The only time I was separated from Gemma was when they took her X-ray, other than that every move was orchestrated with me involved. The piece of mind is wonderful for both me and my dog. BEWARE! My elderly mother took her cat for emergency services for potential kidney stones. They kept him overnight (approx. 10 hours), had to cath him, provide meds, ran xrays, and sedation. However, no surgery or other procedures were required. They required her leave a $4,000 deposit. The next morning they requested an additional $2,000. She opted to remove the cat from their care. I've reviewed the bill in detail and it is absolutely outrageous what they charged for the services and medication provided. Had I not insisted my mother remove the cat, she would have paid this scam of a company $6,000 for less than 24-hour treatment of a cat who didn't require any life-saving measures whatsoever. PLEASE BEWARE of their prices. She was also never given a quote of any kind up front. I will be investigating further and sending this to the news along with the detailed bill. read more

I am not an individual who likes to write reviews but this place is so amazing it deserves one! My dog Bella started acting weird and vomiting this evening. I was in full panic and took her to a ER near my house (which was not VEG) . They made me wait for over an hour without being seen and wouldn't let me go in with my dog. I left and immediately drove to VEG Clearwater! I am so blessed that I did. They allowed me to stay with Bella the entire time. Answered all my questions. And treated every pet coming in like it was a human hospital with immediate attention and care. I am so thankful this facility is around. This place is friendly, has great caring staff. But they will overcharge massively because it's an emergency and you don't have any other choices and they know it. Every service my regular vet offers, they charged 2,3, even 4x as much for. My dog ate some brownies. They took 6 hours to give him an xray, some iv antibiotics, and send us home with meds and it cost us $1800 (seriously that's all we had done for that cost). We sat and waited this whole time just for them to try and say they needed to keep him overnight and wanted another $2000 to do so. We took him home with antibiotics and he's fine. They have snacks and drinks, they have rooms you can stay in if they have to keep your pet. But I had to chase vet techs down to remind them we were there. They are SLOW and will drain you of any money to keep your pet alive. The front desk attendant was just about the most caring and generous individual I have ever encountered in a situation like this. That is the extent of the good part of this experience. The rest of it made me feel extremely taken advantage of, and a month later I still feel sick thinking of how they financially eviscerated my family in a desperate situation. read more

My name is Erica Perrine and My 7 yr old Chug Sonny had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and liver disease. We were at the point of making him comfortable and giv him all the lovins while he was here. On the night of 12/30/24 I noticed he wasn't able to pee. so i took off work 12/31/2024 to stay home with him. He had a rough day that day, and I knew it was time. His vet office closed at noon and wasn't back open until 1/2/2025. So I called Veterinary Emergency Group and they told us we could bring him there. I am having him cremated and the crematorium wasnt open until 1/2/2025. The Veterinary Emergency Group said they would hold Sonny for me until I could get him to crematorium on Thursda. When we got there they immediately took us to a private room. They gave us all the time we needed with Sonny and waited until we were ready for him to cross the rainbow bridg. I absolutely can't say enough about them. They were amazing here! I would take my furbab there for any emergency. I also can't thank them enough for helping us every way they could during this difficult time. I would HIGHLY recommend them under the most trying of circumstances. read more

I took my six year old rehomed dog here the night of 9/11. I misunderstood someone who had him during the day that he had eaten his food. That should have been that he had NOT eaten. I gave him his heart worm/flea medication and he became very sick. I took him about 10 pm and they were wonderful! After about 3 hours he was much better and we came back home. They were very professional and understood I hadn't done it on purpose. I have used them twice and they were terrific both times!!!! read more

With several other dogs being treated simultaneously by a small staff, he was still quickly treated, efficiently monitored, and ready to go back home in under 2 hours. Treatment was also very fairly priced, much less than we anticipated. You can tell everyone there really loves and cares for the animals; Rambo loved all the attention. Very expensive but to be expected as it is an emergency vet and they are open 24/7. Despite the sadness of having a sick cat and the hefty vet bill, my experience at VEG was great. Dr Jones was very knowledgeable and empathetic. She came in to evaluate my cat within 5 minutes of us entering the building. The staff was very kind and offered snacks and drinks. I was able to be with my kitty every step of the process. Even when he was being put under anesthesia and undergoing the procedure I was able to watch the whole thing. This is definitely unique to VEG. I would definitely recommend them for EMERGENCY needs. If your animal is not very sick and can wait to see your primary vet then I would try but if not VEG is the place to go. read more

Our cat had to spend some time in the oxygen tank and they pushed a bench close to the machine so we could sit next to him. This place is the best! My fur baby Mason tore his ACL and even from the moment I called to let them know I was bringing him in I felt so comforted. As soon as we walked in the door everyone knew Masons name and greeted him while I checked in. They immediately pulled out a soft bed for him to lay on so he didn't have to lay on the hard floor and kept him with me the entire time. The office is an open floor concept unlike other vets so you aren't stuck in a waiting room and a smaller room waiting for a doctor. They don't have to take your pet back anywhere to exam them which is so refreshing. Megan greeted us at the door as soon as we got there and was amazing during the whole process making sure Mason got all the love while test were ran. Nurse Robyn and Dr. Kroncke were so sweet and gentle with him the entire time and answered all my questions regarding the treatment process.
