Bulging out the door are all shapes and sizes of dog beds, kennels, trampoline beds, stuffed toys,…read moreleads and inside there's more stuff. I'm sure at the end of the day having to move everything back inside they have to quickly lean against the door with their backs hard against it and lock it before it explodes out! The pet shop is very well stocked with supplies for all creatures great and small, from dogs to mice, their pet bearded dragon is certainly not shrinking, he's huge. They do sell puppies, which I personally don't agree on any pet shop doing as breeder direct is better, but anyway. The owner and staff are friendly enough and certainly know their products and what can help with a minor ailment, otherwise it's a trip to the vet down the road. Besides dogs, they also have fish for sale. They also run an engraving service to personalise your pets name tag.

I come in here to get my mum's ridiculously minuscule dog a treat or two, and she loves them. They also have a massive range of fish for sale, which my niece makes a beeline for every time we visit, as well as puppies and kittens every now and then. They're friendly and welcoming, and you WILL need to keep your eyes peeled for the pastel pink fluffy chicken that pecks around like it owns the place. Which it might.... And there's usually a huge parrot and a few birds on stands around the store too, which aren't for sale but just do their thing.

It's always nice when you receive a warm welcome into a business. The cockatoo outside of Petsland…read moresadly didn't welcome me when I walked up to the entrance. Maybe he doesn't talk, I don't know... Either way, let's forget about the rude cockatoo... Just joking, if he does talk he might be shy... The place is quite big as seems to be the norm for a lot of pet stores these days. The days of the small pet shop seem to be ending. Maybe it's the added convenience of being able to take your pet into the shop. The floors are concrete as most of these big pet stores are. Petsland has a large range of goods. Most common animals are available here, though people tend to flock to the puppy pen. It's nice to see the animals NOT in a glass enclosure, as tends to be the case for a lot of pet stores. The puppies always look happy and playful, and I really do think it has to do with the environment they're in. Prices are about on par with most other pet stores. We looked around and tried to find something that undercut their opposition, but there wasn't really much to talk about in the end. It's a nice pet store with a lot of selection, but you don't need to go out of your way if you have another store local.

There are some bargains to be had, but most things are fairly competitively priced, not really being that much more costly than Pet stock. Not a bad place.

Pets Everywhere used to be called Northside Pets, so I'm not sure if it was a management change or…read morewhat but essentially it's got the same stock with not much change. They have exotic pets like snakes, lizards and other reptiles and also spiders - eek! I will not be anywhere near those things and it's a good thing they dont' sell Mortein as I'd be armed and dangerous with a can. It's a big shops and there's alot of pet stock under the roof with equipment, food, supplies and all sorts of weird pets and the norm and nfortunately they do sell kittens. But there are other furry creatures like rabbits and guinea pigs and if you don't want to get that close there's always fish.

This pet shop keeps birds in a way that isn't good for their health and welfare…read more I visited this shop about 3 weeks ago and there is a room where they keep the birds for sale. The room's cold, has a concrete floor and no natural light. Birds need natural full spectrum light in order for their bodies to make vitamin D and enable them to have the correct sleeping patterns. They should at least have full spectrum light bulbs. The room has parrots in triple-decker cages. The birds in the top and middle cages get artificial light, but the parrots in the lowest cages are living in deep shadow and it's distressing to see how these birds cope with this. The one sole occupant in the lowest cage has no tail feathers left and is continually climbing to reach the upper corners of its cage to try to access some of the light - anyone can see this is an anxious and unhappy bird. The room also contains box cages full of about 30 - 40 finches. The owners have only been bothered putting up the one perch for this many finches in a single cage. Every centimetre of this perch is used by the finches; when one bird moves they're all forced to move. The rest of the birds have to sit on the ground and would also have to roost on the ground at night. This is bad for their feet - birds need to be able to perch, especially at night when they roost. They're also forced to spend extended periods of time overnight on a floor full of bird droppings, obviously not good for their health. On a closer look at the cage there is a bracket to support a second perch. These people have clearly just been too lazy to bother putting in a second perch for such a high number of these birds. A friend told me he'd gone in there once and saw a pair of very young budgie chicks just sitting in the corner on the floor. They were clearly too young to have been taken from the nest but here were these people putting them into this cage without even adequate perching and trying to sell them before they were properly ready to leave the nest. The way the owners keep these birds shows no regard for their welfare and these people are denying these birds' the opportunity to engage in essential natural behaviors like accessing enough light, the ability to perch and the ability to avoid having to sit in bird droppings. Not good at all.

If you think this store looks a little outdated well you're right as it has been here since 1940…read moreand a family owned business. Luckily these places still exist within the metropolitan area because otherwise we'd have to go way out to whoop whoop to get a few supplies at excellent prices...and I tell ya it's be worth it. Supermarkets and pet shops all serve their purpose for the standard cat or dog in the family unit, so you shop for the people and pets at the same place. But think again...for those have chooks, ducks, even a goat in the backyard (cheap lawn mower) where do they go...feed and fodder store of course. Not only that but there are garden supplies also, to give you an idea they stock products for: - poulty - chooks, ducks, geese, etc - birds - budgies, canaries, parrots, etc - rodents - rabbits, etc - cavies - guinea pigs, etc - cat n dog food - marine - fish, turtles, etc - farm animals - goats, sheep, horses, etc - straw, hay, chalf - kitty litter - cow manure, fertilizer, pea straw, potting mix - food storage containers, feeders, etc When I used to make heat bags (for people with sore muscles, the bag gets heated up in the microwave and placed onto aching muscles), I bought 20kg bags of wheat for here and at the time it was $15 a bag. All of their products are very reasonably priced for the amount you get, it'll save you money and last a while also. But a word of advice: store your bulk items in metal containers or bins with secure lids and not plastic as wild, hungry rodents will eat through plastic to get to the goodies.

As we have our own little fur baby on the way it was definetly a trip we needed to take and this place was HUGE. They have areas for specials and a fantastic range (though sometimes it feels empty since there's so much shelf space it can make products look low on stock). Staff were honest and gave good advice which was refreshing. The main thing I liked about this place though was that it was clean. Paranoid after reading up so much about parvo and other pup viruses I was really happy with rhe sterility of it, a nice change from most of the shops where they have food product spilled out on the floors and animals or birds roaming round dooking on everything haha. Coming back for pet supplies before puppygeddon!!
