This makes a big difference as you are dealing with the owner of the business and not some college kids that are hired at minimum wage and do not care about your dog. Greta is wonderful to work with and she really loves her customers. She gives my dog personal attention and she is always happy when I drop her off and pick her up which means so much to me and helps us enjoy our vacations. This kennel is a bit more expensive than the rest in the Rocky Mount area, but certainly worth it. You won't be disappointed

Looking to post all I can on Hicks Animal Clinic...So nobody else gets cheated or lose their pet…read morefrom this money machine...Not a Veterinarian Office Don't be fooled by these positive reviews...The veterinarian that built this trusted business has LONG BEEN RETIRED. I'm told his son comes in one or day days per week. I assume to pick up the money. To make sure I'm clear I'll use an outline format. My 1st and last visit to Hick Veterinarian Rocky Mount NC 13 April 2026 am My male dog had a 2.5 inch lump on chest and had stopped eating, partly blocked. 11 April 2023. I was told I needed to run these test...(see my unfinished bill picture...at Hicks!) I was told the lump on his chest would cost thousands of dollar to remove and there was no connection to the lump on his chest and the blockage.(100% WRONG!!!) Said for $500 your not going to do anything to help my dog? Should I try muralax?(already done green bean & coconut oil) THEY did absolutely nothing to help my dog! NOTHING! Except tell me what I already knew,no worms...(See my bill screen) Monday 13 April 2026 I take a picture of the lump on his chest, upload it to AI. Says it's an large abscess he needs to see a Veterinarian ASAP or he will die...Already been 5 days not eating...I'm force watering & broth...I tell AI I went to Hicks Clinic in Rocky Mount NC and for $527.00 they did nothing to help my animal. Told AI I was military with battlefield medical training and a full med pack including surgery tools and not expired antibiotics. AI told me where to cut an incession and how to drain and flush with saline...With in 3 hours he was eating soft foods and stooled...Before that I was picking my dog up to carry him outside. Next day lite walking at the farm...Flushing twice a day and antibiotics...Day 4 he's on solid food and almost back to 100% If I had listed to Hicks ( nobody their by that name when I was there I asked for Hicks the man with the great reviews!) MY DOG WOULD HAVE DIED (5) DAYS AFTER SEEING THIS 5 STAR VET AND PAYING $527.00 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Don't be fooled by these Google reviews Pure Talk and maybe Hicks Pays Google to remove negative reviews. Most times you can see the TRUTH on BBB reviews...HICKS HAS NO BBB REVIEWS

In less than 24 hours I got him to Riverside; everyone was extremely kind and Veterinarian she really put me at ease after he received an IV and was sent home with medication . However, 3 days later his temperature hadn't changed and he was still not eating or drinking. I was in a panic! I left a voicemail and minutes before closing Dr. Ken Gallatin called me back. He stayed on the phone asking so many questions to assess JB's (my cat) condition and allowed us to come in immediately the same day. Within an hour with the help of Dr. Yufan Chao; JB was eating (small bites but progress)! We stayed for over an hour and Dr. Ken ran through every scenario that could be impacting his health and did a very in depth (touch, feel and look) physical of his whole body. He discovered after analyzing and opening his mouth that there was an ulcer on his tongue which prevented him from drinking and eating. He gave us new medication to directly relieve and heal the ulcer. As of today (3 days later), thanks to Dr. Ken JB is finally drinking water and on his way to a great recovery. This is a great hospital, I recommend if available to ask for Dr. Ken Gallatin. He's what you need when faced with a dire situation for your fur baby. He saved JB's life while being gentle, informative, patient and using critical thinking (outside the box of the norm) to help me as a pet parent and my little JB. Dr Ken is the true animal whisperer!!!!

I had never received a bill to administer this medication previously I was told that if the vet called me, I would be charged a consultation fee. I felt that this was ridiculous. I understand the vet couldn't talk to me at the time I was at the office because it was during office hours, but being charged a consultation fee for a phone call regarding a policy of the hospital. Unacceptable. That day I switched veterinarians. My dog was well cared for and I was confident in the staff. I just feel like greed was involved.
